Wait and watch
One day Paru was moving in the Art Gallery.There
were plenty of paintings and art pieces.Paru was observing them.She had
stopped at each item.Paru looked at every article.She just loved old
and unique things.But all antique were too costly for her pocket.Paru
just enjoyed looking at them.Then she saw a nice picture,she carefully
looked at it.It was a picture of hut standing alone on mountains.All
scene around her was very lovely.It was very beautifully made.Every
curve of that picture was done with an effort.Paru could imagine how
much efforts that painter must had taken during creating the picture.She
just could not moved her eyes away from it.After some hours she
realized she was so involved in that painting that she didn't pay any
attention to the watch.Paru knew that she had to leave the
exhibition.Then she suddenly noticed that picture didn't have any price
written on it.She knew she couldn't buy such a picture.Still she decided
to ask about it's price so she went to the guy who was telling people
about artist and his specialists.When she asked about paintings,that man
started telling her about them quickly enthusiastically.But when Paru
pointed out that painting.He suddenly lost his interest."Madam,it is not
artist's painting.It's an immature painting.He is just a poor
student.Artist put it on as a favour.""But it's beautiful."After hearing
this that man angrily looked at Paru."You just don't understand;what is
good art and bad one.This is not a good piece.""But I just like
it.""Madam look at it's line they are not even straight.""But nature is
never in straight lines."Before that man argued further a young boy came
running towards her."Madam that's my painting.Do you like to purchase
it?" Paru liked his attitude.Instead of beating around the bushes he
came straight to his target.Now Paru could discuss matter frankly.After
all now the ball was in her court.Paru"Actually I am interested but my
budget is very limited.I like to buy it if it was according to my
budget.""What is your budget?I will give this to you for 5
thousand.""Sorry I have just three thousand."Actually Paru was not going
to waste her money on such thing.But she didn't want to discourage that
young boy so she offered small sum.She was sure that young boy so she
offered small sum.She was sure that he would not sell that piece for
such a small amount. But instead of rejecting that offer.That young boy
smiled and put sold mark near the picture."Madam, please go and make
payment at counter.You have to give the address to them.They will make
home delivery within ten days.Paru was shocked by this occurrence.But
since every thing happened so suddenly she could not change it.She had
saved three thousand from her birthday.She was planning to put them in
scheme at bank. Now she had to spend it here .But there was no turning
back the man who was talking to her at first was observing here If she
back out now, he would surely insult that young artist.She was not going
to be cause of insult for such genius.She went to counter and made the
payment .At that moment she just wanted that picture.She was not
thinking about other things.
When Paru reached home,she
began to think in which place that picture would look beautiful.She had
decided that picture would be surprise for every one so she didn't
mentioned it to Mahesh and kids.On dinner Mahesh was happily playing
with kids.She suddenly thought she could put picture on the nail just
behind them.They would look such ideal before that picture.But she was
not going to even mention that to them.After all she wanted to see the
happiness on their face when they first time see the picture.It was very
beautiful.They would cry with joy after seeing that picture.She was not
sure regarding children.But in case of Mahesh she was hundred and one
percent sure that he would love it.Mahesh always loved art but because
of it's cost.They never able to bought it.He would be on top of the
world.Paru wanted to hide her feeling.But they all saw it on her
face.Mahesh"Why are you laughing?""Nothing.""Mom don't lie.I know you
are hiding something from me.""Not now you can see it after ten
days."Kids and Mahesh both were smiling and kids started requesting her
to tell her secret.But she didn't give up this time.Mahesh just smiled
and said"I hope it's a good surprise."After that they all were waiting
for her surprise.Then finally that painting was delivered.Luckily it was
birthday of her daughter Isha.All party was in full swing.All her
friends were enjoying even her younger daughter Rashi was happily
playing.Paru was always proud of her elder daughter Isha.Isha was always
accommodating with younger sister.Isha was so attached to Rashi that
she took her to every place with her.At beginning it created problems
for her.Her friend didn't like her idea of bringing her younger sister
everywhere.But Isha remained stuck to her opinions.Sometimes even Paru
suggested that she should not take Rashi with her.But Isha said that she
should only listen to her heart.Slowly some of her friend had adjusted
with her decision and some of her friend left her.But Isha still
remained stick to her decision.When Rashi heard door bell,she ran
towards the door.Rashi opened the door.She saw big pack and screamed
loudly."Didi Mam's surprise.I told you it's going to be your birthday
gift."Isha smiled at Paru.It was not Isha's birthday gift.But Paru liked
the idea of turning it in a birthday gift.After all Isha deserved such a
costly gift.Isha and all her friends ran to that gift and opened the
pack.They all just liked the painting.There were tears of joy in Isha's
eyes,when she said"Mom,you made my day."and hugged Paru.At that moment
she decided it was Isha's gift and it would belonged just to Isha.Isha
happily teared the whole cover and took that painting in her and Rashi's
common bedroom.It was one of major adjustment Isha did.She shared her
every belonging with Rushi and Rashi always proved worthy of her
love.Now Paru was glad that she bought that painting.
Until Mahesh came they all were happy to enjoy that painting.When Mahesh
came inside the house both the girls started pushing him to the room
where painting was hanged.At first Mahesh was happily laughing with
them.But when he entered in the room,suddenly all the smile from his
face had vanished.His face turned white.His lips started shaking.He had
given such a expression as if he had seen his death.Mahesh "What is
this?"Isha "Dad it's painting.Mom bought for me."Mahesh now started
looking angrily at Paru."Why did you buy this ugly thing?"Now Paru was
shocked there was nothing ugly in that painting.All people admired
it.But Mahesh was angry with her because she bought it.He was even
screaming on her before girls.Paru could see anger in Isha's eyes and
fear in Rashi's eyes.She didn't like it.For first time in their married
life Mahesh acted this way.She was about to scream on him.But she didn't
want to create a scene before kids so she decided to keep quiet."Don't
worry.It will stay in girl's room.""But it will bring bad omen on
them.""What?!Are you out of your mind?Mad or something?This beautiful
painting will bring bad omen.Impossible.""Can't you see?It is clearly
giving signals to you.In fact just by looking at it.You will feel that
it will kill you.If something happened to our girls?What will we do?How
do you console your heart?"Rashi got scared after hearing
Mahesh.Rashi"Dad do you think there is some kind of ghost inside the
picture?"Suddenly Mahesh started talking sweetly to Rashi."Sweet heart
there is evil in this painting and it can kill you."Paru was shocked so
she didn't able say anything for sometime.But Isha was quick to
response."Dad don't lie.Nothing is wrong in that painting.It's just
normal painting.You are just doing this because you don't like it."Now
Mahesh started screaming on Isha.Paru felt he might slap her so she
forced Isha to stay behind her."How dare you talk to your father like
this?I never lie..."Then he started abusing both mother and daughter.He
even claimed they were worshiping the evil.Paru"Now that is enough.That
painting will stay in.."Rashi screamed loudly"Mom I don't want it.I am
scared of it."Isha"You stupid little girl.I have done so much for you
and you are returning it like this.Isha's face was now red with
anger.Rashi"'what flavour?So you don't want take me.Mom did you force
her?""Not at all.Isha this is too much.You took her because you wished
to.""But at that time I thought she was my friend.Mom if you want remove
the painting.Remove it.But now on I will never keep relationship with
Rashi."Paru started trying to console both the girls.But instead of try
to sort the matter.Mahesh removed that painting quickly.When Paru saw
Mahesh was literally running away with that painting,she was
shocked.Paru"Isha stop it and pay attention to me."Isha stopped and
looked at Mom.Then Isha looked where her Mom was pointing out.She saw
her father running away with painting.Isha "Why do Dad act this way?""I
think something is wrong with your Dad."Rashi"You know Mom now a days he
tells me too many ghost stories.He even read some ghost books."Paru and
Isha both were shocked to hear this.Rashi ran toilet and took out the
book hidden behind the flush.It was book of supernatural stuff.Paru and
Isha were shocked.They never thought that Mahesh was reading that kind
of things.Isha"Rashi now you have to understand Dad is not behaving
properly.""But Dad is so clever."Isha"Not anymore.He is mad man
now."Paru didn't like Isha's way of talking about her Dad.Paru"Don't
talk like that about your Dad.Rashi Dad is sick when he will go to
doctor.He will be cured."Isha "But Mom how do we convince him to go to
doctor?I don't think he will willingly go to doctor."Paru knew it was
hard.But she had to do it for her daughter and Mahesh had to go there to
keep his sanity.
After taking away that painting
Mahesh stayed peacefully for some days.But then one day Rashi got
fever.Doctor said it's flu.Then Mahesh again started his
madness.Mahesh"Paru I think because of that painting evil had entered in
our house.""What?""Don't you feel it's presence.I think we need
exorcist.""This is too much.I think you need a psychiatrist.""What?"Now
Mahesh started angrily throwing things.Isha was very scared.Paru was
also scared but Isha was holding her hand.She could clearly feel her
fear with help of Isha's hold.Isha was holding her hand such tightly
that Paru began to feel pains in her hand.Paru tried to tell Mahesh to
relax.But he continued screaming and throwing things.He was telling them
that he was not mad.Paru"I am not saying that you are mad.I am telling
you to reconsider your views.""No.I am not stupid.You can't fool me.That
evil you bought had entered in the house and started creating problems
for us.That is the reason behind our daughter's sickness.I am going to
take her to some one who can do some thing about that evil."And he
started going in girl's bedroom.Now this was more than enough for
Paru.She could not take risk on Rashi's health just to fulfill Mahesh's
whim.Paru"You can't take my daughter.""She is also my daughter and I am
going to take her."By his expressions Paru could see clearly she had to
put big fight to protect her daughter.At same moment she saw Isha was
running outside for help.Paru stood between her husband and her daughter
Rashi.Mahesh did not seemed ready to give up at all.Paru"Try to
understand if you take away Rashi now.Her fever will increase.""No.I
will take her.Just stay out of my way.""She is my daughter."Then Mahesh
literally throw her away.Before fainting she heard Isha screaming her
name.When she woke up,she was in hospital."My daughter..""Don't worry
Bhabi.She is safe."She turned her brother-in-law and his wife were
sitting with Isha near her.Paru"Mahesh has lost his senses.""We know
everything.Isha told us.Thank god.Neighbours came on time.We took him to
doctor.He said he is suffering from Paranoid Schizophrenia.""So he will
be okay?"When her brother-in-law didn't say anything,she knew that he
couldn't be cure."But doctor gave him some medicines that will control
him."But suddenly brother-in-law's wife stopped him."Bhabi no one knows
Mahesh has this problem.But since it come in to light now.We all will
support you in your any decision."Paru was shocked so what did she
suppose to do?Leave her loving husband because he was mad or stay with
him.But she had to talk to her daughter so she turned towards Isha.Isha
came near her and said"Mom may be we shall wait and watch."
