Painting of small boy
Chetan began to hear floating of water with each sound. He began to feel so pleased. He liked it. He was so happy that he finally shifted in house near water. He was working so hard to find one. It was so pleasant. His life was so stressful without one pleasant house. He was waiting to find one but he couldn’t find. They were so costly. So he finally decided to rent one. This one was so nice. He kept listening to sound of tides. It’s rent was little high but he was so happy in it. He didn’t mind paying little bit extra for it. He smiled so sweetly when he thought about his house. It was pleasant heaven in his mind. He wanted to think positively about all but his house was so much better. He had inherited one flat from his parents but he disliked it. He didn’t understand why but he felt so negative about it. He had nice life in his flat. His parents were nice & everything was fine. They died due to sickness in old age. He knew that he missed them but he couldn’t expect them to live forever. He could understand easily. He told himself that it was okay so he was alone in his life. His job was his entertainment. He did few creative things painting. He tried to sell them but he knew that no one was going to purchase so he gave them free in exchange he get few friends. He was not married. He was handling his father’s savings very carefully. He knew that he would manage all in great way. He looked around his house. It was perfect heaven. He didn’t want anyone to enter in it. He laughed happily. He was finally free. He knew that he was free from beginning but still he was tense. He felt that someone might enter. His parents were so pushy. He began to arrange in his house. It was so nice. He could hear sound of tides. They were telling him wonderful stories. They kept suggesting that nature would bring positive in his mind. He wanted happiness for himself. He knew that tides had strength to bring positive for him. He was so stressed. He was feeling so happy with wonderful memories. They are so pleasant. He kept looking around. He could hear rhythm in that water tides. It was so nice. He began to imagine world in different way. He could feel pleasant thought in his mind. He was so happy. On each tide he felt entry of new world. He took out canvas & began to paint a scenery. He started to observe people walking on beach. On that point he saw small child. He was so pleased to see that child. He slowly began to draw a temporary sketch on that point one lady came to play with him. She was good looking & innocent too. He felt so happy. He started to do her rough sketch too. He smiled happily. He was so happy. On that point that lady looked towards him. She didn’t able to see him. But he felt as if she sensed something was wrong. She forcibly took away that little boy. He felt so sad. But he had seen them so he could easily draw them now. He began to draw them on canvas. He looked around. Sometimes he wished he had some pet. Until now he never had one but he could have one now. He was confused between dog or cat but then he never had one so it seemed better to have fishes. He didn’t understand what would be better. Then he felt that it was better to be alone. He decided to start some music & dance. It would be pleasant. He wanted to dance happily. His each move was showing new spirit for soul. He wanted to feel happy. It was so wonderful. He knew that he was not great dancer but he just wanted to express himself so he was dancing like mad person but he was happy since no one was there to see. He started laughing when finally he stopped. He wanted pleasant life like that. He didn’t want anyone to stop him. He wanted full freedom. It was so frustrating when his parents or his friends used to tell him how bad his dancing was. He knew that now no one would do that. He sat once again to paint. He began to imagine that child in different scene. In this scene that child was playing with ball. That ball was so pretty with excellent colours. He kept watching those colours with full concentration. He wanted to imagine a nice beach too. He began to paint one enchanting beach of his imagination. Just child was same. He didn’t need same background. He could paint that child in heaven of his imagination. He knew that his one friend who ran restaurant needed one painting. This would be perfect for her. That lady owner of restaurant was so skillful in her cooking skills. She could manage all in perfect way. Sometimes he get food on discounted rate. She was his favourite friend. She had one husband who never cared for her. She tried to avoid complaining but she couldn’t help it. This restaurant was owned by her husband. He sat just as cashier & kept taking earning. She needed to select cook & give recipes to them. She needed to arrange something if cook disappeared but she was still nothing. She was just an useless woman in her husband’s eyes. She was so frustrated. He was such relief in her life. She had one son but he never cared for her so he felt that this child would become her son in her imaginary world. He looked towards child. That boy seemed so pleasant in painting. He kept looking at that boy. He smiled happily. He began to put more colours on canvas. He started to feel pleasant happiness in mind. Then he was so stressful. He needed to feel positive but he was feeling negative suddenly entered in him. He slowly took that Canvas then he took some newspapers & packed it properly. He decided to gift it to his that lady of restaurant Mrs. Gupta. He smiled happily. He confirmed that entire lights & fans & AC were closed in his house. He even confirmed refrigerator door & gas pipeline button was closed. Then he took some money & he began to journey towards restaurant. He loved to go there. He was so happy when that restaurant with Victoria decor came. He enjoyed it. He sat on his favourite chair which had view of one pleasant garden. His life was so nice. Then when waiter came, he immediately told waiter to keep that Packet which had canvas for Mrs. Gupta. Waiter nodded. Waiter looked towards Mr. Gupta & said “ Better to give to Madam than Sir.” Then both nodded in agreement. They knew that his Sir didn’t appreciate such things. So Waiter took it away. Then Chetan resumed eating food he just ordered. They knew what he wanted so they managed his order very quickly. He began to eat happily.
Mrs. Gupta was so happy when she saw that painting. Until now Chetan’s paintings were nice but nothing so positive. She felt most of them were just depressing but today he gifted her a jewel. That atmosphere was so nice perfect for her Victorian restaurant. She placed it properly. She liked that atmosphere. It was so pleasant. She looked around. She loved that canvas. She kept looking around restaurant. It was so nice. She sat peacefully while watching that Canvas that boy was positive. Slowly customers began to come. She smiled happily & started serving them with new spirit. She was so happy. But then after sometime one couple came. It ordered food then it started to look towards canvas. Wife said with shock “ That boy looked so much like our Pradip!” Husband said “ So true. Sometimes painter create miracles by painting like that. Those painting seemed so truthful & interesting.” She smiled. But Mrs. Gupta felt so confused. Mrs. Gupta decided to serve personally to that customer. She went to take their order too. She began to feel so upset when they took time to give order. They didn’t call anyone. They were discussing between themselves for sometime. During that discussion she kept carefully listening to them. She was trying to make word out of their conversations. She didn’t understand much but she didn’t feel they were discussing about that canvas. So they managed to forget about painting. Then finally they called. She went running & asked with sweet smile “ So how was your day? Do you enjoy beach?” Husband “ Beach? I don’t know about beach.” Wife smiled “ Come on! Didn’t I mentioned our son went on beach yesterday with Reva.” “ Ohh! Then we must visit it today.” They both looked happy at this idea. Then they gave order to Mrs. Gupta who immediately went in kitchen. She confirmed that order should be cooked carefully & she even told to give them one extra dessert. She said to cook “ I feel they might keep coming.” Cook “ Don’t worry. We have some extra fruits which will get spoiled if we don’t cook something. I am sure I can make some nice dessert. In fact I cook it for all customers.” On that point Mr. Gupta entered “ Great idea & give some to me on counter. I am so hungry.” Mr. Gupta was forever hungry. He didn’t care how much weight he was gaining. He just wanted more. He said “ Give me that dessert too.” Cook immediately nodded. In mind Cook hated him but it was better to smile & agree with everything so Cook nodded. Now Mrs. Gupta knew that Chetan was painting people who were visiting beach. But she didn’t understand with permission or without. She didn’t feel that it was with permission. She was so scared. She kept talking with her customers for some time. She was smiling happily. It was stressful for her. She wanted to discuss about that small boy with that couple but clearly that couple was not interested in talking with her. She saw soon that couple left. She knew that he had no option now but she must visit Chetan. She must go & see his house. She needed to confirm with eyes that he was actually painting people after watching. It was not just imagination. When she decided to talk about it to Mr. Gupta she sensed that her husband Mr. Gupta didn’t like it. Mr. Gupta was big bully. He didn’t like if she visited any man. Mr. Gupta had many friends who were girls & women. He could do anything as per his choice but she needed to be restricted. She was feeling so sad. She didn’t understand how could she go there. Then she suddenly got one idea. She told Mr. Gupta “ Do you remember Chetan?” “ Yes!” “ That Chetan is planning a party in house.” Now for greed Mr. Gupta could do anything. “ Then you must go. I can’t leave this cash counter.” She knew that Mr. Gupta just wanted to relax in restaurant. She needed to take some cash & then pretend that Chetan gave it. She didn’t want to be exposed before her husband. Her life was so miserable. She didn’t have any privacy. She had two children who were settled in their life. They just came with their demands to her but they never cared for her. She was so confused about her feelings towards Chetan. It was not love. She never fall in love with man so young but her husband surely began to treat it that way. She was so upset. She wished only if she could get rid of her situation. Sometimes she just wanted to run away from her house. But she knew that it was not possible. She looked at herself in mirror. She was looking so exhausted & overweight. Once she used to be full of life. But she lost all by wrong marriage. She didn’t have much options. Her family wasn’t rich & her Dad died at young age. Her Mom was widow who did cooking & household work in her big joint family. She supposed to obey her grandparents & Uncles. She did all. She tried to do all her best. She still never received respect. She often thought that if her father had been alive but then one day she found out that her father was not nice man. He was criminal. She was so upset about it. She didn’t feel hopeful even after her marriage her husband was worst. She tried to complaint but according to her Mom her father was not better. She was stuck in one trap. But still when she saw Chetan she felt as if he was stuck in same trap. Chetan kept telling his parents were nice people but she didn’t believe it. He was lying. He didn’t wanted to go out since his parents were always kept criticising him. Chetan felt that their parents were right. He felt that he was useless person so they called him useless & it wasn’t crime. He felt so normal when he was criticised. He was intelligent man but still he didn’t feel that way. She wanted him to feel normal & she was planning to do something for him. But today when she sensed that he was doing painting of people without telling them she felt so tense. She wanted to tell him to stop it. She smiled to Mr. Gupta & said “ Okay I will go to Chetan & come with payment.” He nodded happily. She was going to use all her birthday presents which included money only. But she didn’t need them any way. Her life was meaningless but she wanted meaningful life for Chetan. She wanted happiness for him.
Chetan was already planning next painting when Mrs. Gupta called him. He was so happy. She was only person who didn’t treat him like low level human. Mrs Gupta said “ I am coming to visit you.” Chetan didn’t like this idea. He wanted to remain alone. He immediately said “ But I need to go to bank..” “ Ohh actually I want to talk about that painting.” Now this managed to tense him. He was expecting that she would like it now he began to doubt his judgement. He slowly asked “ What happened? You didn’t like it.” “ No..no can you stop for sometime..or I will wait in your house.” Now he didn’t have much option. Then Mrs. Gupta was his friend. She wouldn’t insult or hurt him. “ Fine I will stop today & go tomorrow.” Mrs. Gupta said happily “ Thank you so much.” Then he waited. He kept watching for her. He arranged entire house properly. He even ordered some things to eat. He began to decorate his house. He knew that it was not as if his girlfriend was coming but still he thought that Mrs. Gupta was best friend so deserved similar appreciation. On that time Mr. Gupta called. He took call “ Hello Mr. Gupta.” “ So everything is arranged.” “ No..no I just began..” “ How many people coming?” He didn’t understand. “ What are you talking about?” Suddenly Mr. Gupta asked angrily “ Mrs. Gupta is arranging party for you isn’t she?” He felt so nervous. “ Ohh..it’s just small get together nothing big!” Then Mr. Gupta laughed loudly “ Ohh…so sorry. I know just you & one guest. That’s it. Isn’t it?” “ Yes..yes” “ Ohh my wife always like to arrange it. I tell her to not change you. & don’t order food from outside I send some.” He nodded. He knew that Mr. Gupta couldn’t see him but still. He said “ Bye.” He could hear Mr. Gupta laughing. Finally he canceled items he ordered. Mrs Gupta was confused when Mr. Gupta called. Then slowly she understood misunderstanding. But she decided that it was better. She said “ Just send that food.” “ Of course you don’t want to stop there for long to arrange for them two is company & three is crowd.” Mr. Gupta began to laugh again. Mrs. Gupta was so nervous. She knew that now he would keep irritating. Chetan was looking outside. He saw once again a couple. He smiled. He wanted paint again. He began to set all when Mrs. Gupta came. She saw that he was beginning to sketch. She could see that it was picture of that couple. She looked towards Chetan angrily. “ Do you understand what you are doing?” “ What?” “ You are painting people without their permission.” He smiled & said “ It’s okay. It wasn’t like that!” “ It is not okay. Try to understand. You are painting unknown woman & kids! People will start to complaint.” He suddenly became out. He asked “ Did someone complaint?” “ Well.” She looked towards table. She said “ Let’s sat & talk.” On that point door bell rang. Mr.Gupta came in. Mrs. Gupta shivered with fear. She was alone sitting opposite Chetan. She was not holding hand or so near but still. But then Mr. Gupta looked towards Chetan who was crying slowly. “ What happened?” “ Where is girl?” “ There is no girl.” Chetan began to cry loudly. Mr. Gupta patted on his hand. “ It’s okay. That’s not end of world. We will find new girl.” Then Mr. Gupta smiled & said “ What about my sister?” Mrs. Gupta didn’t know what she supposed to say. Her sister-in-law was nice & beautiful woman but Chetan was not searching girl to marry he had different issue. Mrs. Gupta said “ Let him get over this.” Mr. Gupta nodded. Then Mr. Gupta kept food in corner & went away. She was glad that her husband went away. She slowly went near Chetan “ You can’t keep on painting like that..” “ But I need to! My hands couldn’t stop. I want to do it.” He screamed on her. Mrs. Gupta “ If you feel that way you need help.” Chetan looked towards her with shock. She was calling him mad man. He gave her angry look & said “ Just go away.”She get out. Then he slowly took canvas & started painting. He would keep them inside house. Then it would be fine. He began to paint in strange way. In strange hope which he had in his soul. He wanted to do all in right way. He needed to paint carefully everything on canvas. He saw pleasant colours on it. He was so happy. But that point he suddenly saw one face. It was face of his dead baby sister. He still thought about her. He knew that when he was ten years old his baby sister died. They didn’t understand cause. He didn’t want to remember her. But he kept thinking about her. His parents didn’t like her. He didn’t understand why. But they just didn’t. Then they never liked him too. Their parents were successful people & they were unsuccessful children. They were failures. He began to get so upset. Suddenly he began to feel that he needed a psychiatrist. Now he could go there & no one would taunt him. His parents always taunted. His parents could have declared him mad on his face. Then he began to search for number of hospital. He located psychiatrist number & without second thought he just called. He took appointment. Then he sat peacefully & began to eat food Mr. Gupta brought. He began to think he might start dating sister of Mr. Gupta. She might be nice girl but he needed to just get this treatment. Then he started painting canvas. This time he began to try to paint his dead baby sister but he couldn’t able to see her. She was there in his thoughts still she was invisible in his memories. He couldn’t paint anything he started crying. From that day Chetan was keep trying to paint. But something didn’t permit him. He just wanted to paint people who were walking on beach. Finally he just stopped painting. Mrs. Gupta didn’t call him. He wanted to call her but he decided to wait. He wanted to visit psychiatrist first. It was so painful for him. He began to get upset again & again with fear. He was so stressed. He wanted to feel positive but nothing was happening. He knew that he needed psychiatrist.
Finally Chetan came to visit psychiatrist on day of appointment. He was so tense but it appeared like normal hospital nothing special or scary. They checked him in normal way. Then psychiatrist began to talk. He told everything step by step. Psychiatrist said slowly “ You are suffering from depression due to nature of your parents. They kept their expectations so high that you can’t able to live normal life. But now you began to have problem of little bit obsessive compulsive disorder too. You want to paint people again & again. But this is nothing that treatment can’t cure. So we start it from today.” Chetan nodded. He began his treatment that day. He went back. He tried to call Mrs. Gupta but she didn’t took it. When she took call it was much short conversation that he sensed that she was no longer interested in their friendship. He wanted to ask why but he couldn’t. He had no claim on that friendship. One day he saw that boy again on beach. He went out & told them how did he painted him & gave canvas to restaurant. He apologised for not asking permission. But that family seemed happy. They said “ You can paint us all. We don’t mind.” He smiled happily. After that this boy became his centre of attraction in every painting. Slowly he even began to sell painting. He didn’t earn much but he enjoyed. Most importantly he was no longer locked in his house. He began to jog & go out. It was pleasant thing for him. His treatment helped him to start his normal life. He managed to make friendship with few people too. He didn’t started to date but he hoped one day he might find his someone special.
The End
