Scared of mirror image
Ravi looked
in mirror. His face was looking nice. He knew that he was not so handsome but
still his face was so nice. He began to admire it. He loved watching his face
sometimes. Whenever he looked at it, he began to feel strange obsession. He
didn’t understand why. He kept looking towards his face with full attention. He
was observing his face. He never understood that attitude. It might be about
beauty. He always kept feeling that way. But when he looked towards his face in
mirror, he felt as if he was someone different. He felt it just for moment then
that feeling went away. He smiled at that thought. On that point his mobile
rang. He immediately looked towards it. Tara was calling him. Tara was his
friend from college. Actually, he liked her. He even proposed her. But they had
not made it official yet. Tara said that they would declare only when he
started earning & plan to marry her. She didn’t want announcement before
that. Ravi knew that Tara was little bit shy & insecure about entire issue.
He couldn’t blame her. Many times, such relations broke & it would cause
lots of issues for people. He understood it. So, they always appeared like best
friends. He took her call immediately. Tara “Where are you? We are going for
movie with friends. I need to go inside soon. If you don’t come, I can’t sit
next to you.” He felt so nervous. He wanted to sit beside her. He declared “I
will come in 2 seconds.” He ran out of
his house. He managed to lock door. Then he started to stop Cabs. He didn’t
want to waste time in booking on since he saw one before him. He told address
& sat in it. Finally, he was on way. He messaged Tara. Tara was clearly
relaxed. He couldn’t see her but he could easily imagine it. He began to get so
excited. His life was moving in different way. He was hoping positive in this
thoughts. He had different sort of dreams which would open new way for his
life. He began to create different hopes for future. Tara was included in his
every hope. Ravi was so happy. Ravi needed to create different ambitions to
please Tara. He needed to think about future in different ways. He was planning
to earn lots of money. He wanted to buy one house. He knew that his parents had
one house but still he didn’t like idea on depending on that house. He needed
his own house & his own future. He was dreaming about different things. He
was so happy that he didn’t sense when he reached to his destination. When Cab
driver told him that they reached destination he sensed. He paid & ran
towards multiplex. He was hoping that Tara would wait for him. But he soon
sensed that Tara was not there. She had already gone inside. He felt so hurt.
Movie was not started. There was 15 minutes to start still she went inside. She
didn’t even message him. But then he convinced himself. It was unsafe for her
to stand outside like that alone. He smiled & rushed inside multiplex.
Ravi went inside. He began to check
his ticket. Soon he sensed that he got ticket in corner. He noticed on one side
one boy from college was sitting. He knew that boy. He talked with him few
times. He decided that he would enjoy his company. He started to searching for
Tara. Soon he found out Tara was sitting beside her best friend but on other
side was another boy. He knew that boy. He was family friend of Tara’s family. Ravi
was assuming until now that he would become Tara’s friend one day. But today he
sensed that it was possible Tara could choose another boy. Tara didn’t even
search for him. She was giving shy smile to this boy while her best friend was
pointedly suggesting her to get more friendly. He never understood why did
Tara’s best friend wanted Tara to select this boy. Ravi was Tara’s friend for
long time. He always talked sweetly with her best friend. But she hated him. He
started to feel it long ago. She was convincing Tara that Tara needed to find
another boy & Tara already managed to find one. He knew that their
relationship was still uncertain. He decided to ignore her & began to talk
with boy who was sitting beside him. Soon movie started he began to watch it. He
started to enjoy it. Then that hero stood before mirror. Suddenly Ravi began to
feel some cold air around him. He looked around. He felt as if there was some
fog around him but there was not any fog. He looked his friend beside whom he
was sitting. His friend was watching movie peacefully. He sensed that his
friend was not feeling cold at all. He began to touch his forehead & started
to check his temperature. He sensed that it was not hot. He was just fine. He
once again began to look towards movie screen. That hero looked in mirror &
suddenly hero’s reflection began to smile. Hero was not smiling. It was usual
scene. But he started to feel so scared. He didn’t want to scream so he held
his mouth with hand & when it became impossible to watch, he closed his
eyes. He was so scared. He couldn’t sit there. He just decided to run to
restroom. He slowly told his friend “I need to go to restroom.” His friend
nodded. He ran towards gate. He opened door & went outside. He was
literally shivering with fear. It seemed that he was going to have fever. He
decided that he didn’t need to go back to multiplex. He went in restroom washed
his face. He didn’t look in mirror. He just rushed out. He went out as soon as
possible. He called one Cab. He came out of multiplex & waited for it.
Finally, Cab came he sat in his booked Cab & took breath of relief.
Tara was watching movie happily. She
felt that it was good lesson to Ravi for coming late. He supposed to come on
time but he came late. So, she decided to sit with her best friend. But when
another boy sat ahead of her, she felt nervous. She wanted to object but she
didn’t since she knew that her best friend would ask her clearly if she felt
scared due to Ravi. She didn’t want to tell anyone that Ravi was so dominating
towards her. So, she sat there. She kept laughing & pretending that she was
happy. When Ravi came & sat beside a boy, she didn’t look towards him. She
wanted him to sense how did someone felt when get ignored. But she was shocked
when Ravi rushed out in beginning of movie only. She thought that he would come
back. During interval she would change seat with that boy. She once again began
to watch movie. She was relaxed. She was feeling certain that he would come
back. She soon got involved in movie. But when interval happened, she
immediately stood up & rushed towards Ravi’s seat. Ravi was not there. That
seat was empty. Boy who was sitting beside him said “He got some stomach issue
so he left. I feel he had fever. He was shivering whole time.” She was so
shocked. She didn’t expect anything like that. Ravi was always healthy or she
didn’t have time to observe his sicknesses. She was preoccupied in her issues.
She was so confused. She went out. Then she started to make call. Ravi took her
call after long time. “Where are you?” “I am in doctor’s clinic.” “OH! You are
so sick.” “Yes.” She felt so frustrated. Her entire day was spoiled due to his
sickness. “I will watch movie & tell you story afterwards.” “Great idea!” Then
he said slowly “I will take rest now. Bye.”
She needed to disconnect call. She didn’t like the way he treated her.
He didn’t want to talk with her. But then she remembered that he was shivering.
He was sitting in Doctor’s clinic. It was natural. Ravi was waiting for his
number. He was feeling so uneasy. He was literally shivering. One patient
offered him seat in corner. He sat away from fan. He didn’t want to feel
uneasy. He wanted to feel at least little bit normal but he was feeling so
nervous. He kept looking towards Cabin in which Doctor was sitting. He didn’t
understand what was happening to him. Those hours were worst hours of his life.
He wanted to call his parents. But he knew that they would just blame him. His
father didn’t like when he tried to take their help. He decided that he would
visit Doctor & solve this issue. His father gave him this flat to stay
since he supposed to handle all by himself. He knew somewhere in his heart he
felt alone in his father’s house after death of his mom. His father never
talked sweetly with him. Then his stepmom came in house. His step mom was
negative but she was not exactly part of his life. She just kept away from him.
His father kept screaming on him every time. He began to feel so humiliated
that finally he decided to get college which was far away. His father was happy
when he decided to shift. It was pleasant thing for his father. His father
didn’t want his responsibility. His stepmom felt sadder that his father when he
left home. His father was happy & declared clearly that he must not 00irritate
him further. Luckily his father agreed to give some amount. He felt so happy
about it.
Ravi was thinking about his past
when his number came. He went inside; he was shivering. Doctor immediately
started to check him. Doctor said slowly “You are totally fit physically. If
you ask me what happened to you, I will say you are just scared. I like to know
what happened around you!” Ravi felt so confused. “Why you felt so scared?” He
had no option so he began to tell Doctor how did he began to feel his mirror
image might change then he saw movie scene. He started to tell everything.
Doctor slowly wrote down something on his prescription paper. Then Doctor gave
it to him. He saw there was number on it. It was psychiatrist's number. Doctor “I
can’t help you. You need psychiatrist.” Ravi felt so negative. He wanted to
deny it but he knew that his mirror image was truly became scary. He took that
number. He asked “When will I able to go?” “You can go today. I will arrange
one appointment.” He nodded. Then he directly went to Psychiatrist’s clinic. He
waited for his number. Finally, it came. He went inside. He told everything
without hesitation. Psychiatrist listened him. Then Psychiatrist explained him
about his mental problem. He listened carefully. According to Psychiatrist
another personality was beginning to develop in it. It was due to his anger on
his father. Psychiatrist said that he came on time. His treatment started from
that day. From Next he began to concentrate on his studies & career. He was
no longer interested in Tara. Tara felt hurt at beginning but she never felt
need to come & convince him to keep their relationship. So after sometime
it was broken. He didn’t mind. He was just glad that mirror image once again became
normal. He was no longer scared of mirrors.
