Rejection
Shruti began
to work on different types of food items. She was visiting her Auntie & she
wanted to please her. She was so excited about it. Since she was going to
impress all. Shruti was planning to marry boy who was related to Auntie so
she needed to impress her Auntie. It had become essential in their eyes. She
was feeling so hopeful. She began to think about Sandip. He was so nice &
gentle. She loved him. She had no doubt about it. Sandip was perfect for her.
She began to imagine moments of her life with Sandip. She started to think with
such positive attitude. Soon everything started to look like pleasant dream
which had different sort of meaning in it. She began to think that with Sandip she
would live her dream life. She could enjoy every moment. She began to cook
& she started to hope for wonderful kitchen & different sort of dishes.
She could feel their smell. She began to enjoy her skill. On that point her mom
came in room. Her mom smiled sweetly but she could clearly see her mom was not
happy. She knew that her mom had few doubts about it. Her mom never wanted her
to marry Sandip. Once her mom told her that Sandip was not suitable. Her mom
said that his entire family was selfish. Her mom said “Shruti I never liked his
family. If his family is so selfish, how can he have nice morals?!” Shruti
agreed too. Shruti decided to ignore too. But then slowly other relatives &
his family began to talk with her sweetly. She felt so happy & positive
about all. She started to think that her
first guess was wrong. She knew that Sandip’s parents were little bit bossy but
they were of good towards her. She even took few clothes which Sandip’s mom
had. Sandip’s mom said “These are very costly sarees gifted me by Sandip. I
can’t just throw them away. But you can observe they are too bright for my
age.” She smiled & took them. She was so happy. She felt that Sandip’s mom
was treating like future daughter-in-law. After all a woman shared such costly
sarees with only family member. She began to put them on shoulder & check
out. It was so beautiful. Shruti was so happy. Shruti decided to take it. After that Sandip’s mom
also showed some jewellery to Shruti. It was so nice. Shruti was feeling so
positive. She decided immediately that Sandip was in love with her. Sandip’s
mom was doing this since she wanted her as daughter-in-law so after this. She
told mom that she felt Sandip’s family was nice. Her mom also got impressed by
that saree. It was really beautiful. Shruti was so happy. After that Shruti
started to wait for Sandip. He worked in abroad. He didn’t remain in touch with
any relatives that much according to his mom so she didn’t feel that it was
wrong when he didn’t answer her messages. He was just too busy.
Shruti cooked
wonderful food & served it to Auntie. She was hoping that Sandip’s mom
would come too. But Sandip’s mom was not there. She slowly asked about Sandip’s
mom. Auntie immediately declared “She is too busy. She is searching right sort
of girl for Sandip.” Shruti was shocked. Shruti was expecting proposal from
them. On at least some indication regarding sending proposal to them. But it
was clear that they were not planning to make her daughter-in-law. It was
frustrating. Shruti smiled nervously. She didn’t understand that why did
Sandip’s mom gave that saree. She slowly mentioned that saree. Her Auntie
smiled sweetly & said “She is nice lady. She had so many sarees. She always
gifts them to girls whom she liked. You are such nice & beautiful girl.” Shruti
smiled. She was happy since she got admired but slowly, she began to feel
upset. She sensed that it was all her imagination. She slowly looked towards
her dad. Her dad was happy. It was clear that these things were not creating
effect on him. She began to feel that all were totally sure that Sandip was not
going to marry her. It was just her imagination. She felt so sad. She
controlled her tears & smiled. She began to serve what she had cooked.
Suddenly her Auntie began to talk about her. Auntie “Shruti needed to settle
down in career! It’s important.” “So true. She is not doing anything. She is
just sitting in home.” They were eating all that she cooked for hours in
kitchen while declaring she was useless. It was so upsetting. But then she
sensed that they were suggesting about earning large sum. It was so upsetting.
Shruti couldn’t able to earn so much. But then she began to sense that she
didn’t need to feel so upset. She was not planning to marry Sandip any way. She
was not so happy about it. She didn’t understand why did she imagined it. She
knew one thing now. She needed to earn money that was important for her. She
looked towards plates. This cooking was nice but she needed to earn. She slowly
opened her mobile & began to search for jobs. She knew that she needed to
find way. In few seconds she managed to find lots of opportunities. She began
to wait. All guests were speaking & laughing. They were enjoying themselves
but she was not one of them anymore. She was nodding but she was not
interested. She wanted to observe what sort of answer she would get on her hope
for job.
Shruti’s mom
was observing her. Shruti was no longer interested in talking with guests. Her
mom felt that it was due to Auntie. Auntie always taunted Shruti. Mom decided
that she needed to give break to Shruti so mom said “Shruti you said you need
to work on something.” Shruti immediately smiled. Shruti “Yes. I need to
practice for job interview.” Mom smiled happily. Dad looked towards Shruti with
shock. But he didn’t say anything. He just kept looking towards her with angry
look. Shruti knew that Dad wanted her to talk with guests. But she was ready or
not. She wanted to find way to earn. Shruti just went in her room. She began to
search for best way to earn more. She was no longer interested in marriage
proposals. She knew that she needed money. She began to work on different
ideas. Soon she started to find few ways. She was so happy. Soon she created her
world. She knew that she couldn’t earn money so early but she was not going to
give up. She was so happy while doing this. Her mom was observing all. Mom felt
so confused. Shruti liked Sandip so much but after Anutie’s statement she just
diverted attention. Mom didn’t want to just believe Auntie. Mom decided to call
Sandip’s mom. She was happy when Sandip took that call. She began to talk with
him. Sandip seemed like nice boy. Slowly Sandip told everything about himself. Mom
asked him about his plan regarding finding life partner. Sandip didn’t say
anything for some time. Then he said “Actually I am already thinking about
dating but it’s too early to decide which type of girl.” “What about
Shruti?” Sandip didn’t say anything for some
time. Then Sandip said “Auntie I wanted a girl who will be little bit
modern. I mean Shruti is too
traditional. She doesn’t know anything about life in abroad. I need to teach
her everything…” Mom sensed that he didn’t want to marry Shruti. Before mom
could say anything further Shruti tapped on Mom’s shoulder & gave angry
look. It was clear that Shruti had heard one sided conversation & already
guessed remaining. Shruti “Why did you need to do that?” “I need to confirm.”
Shruti cried but after that Shruti kept working on her job. She began to just
concentrate on her job. Her mom began to sense that she was no longer
interested in any thing else. Mom began to sense that Shruti was no longer sleeping
peacefully. Shruti was keeping herself busy. She was not interested in other
people’s life. Mom didn’t mind it but she was not even interested in her own
health. Mom kept telling her but Shruti kept ignoring. Finally, Shruti fall
sick. Mom took her to doctor. Doctor was shocked. Doctor “She is not eating
properly or sleeping. What’s wrong?” Shruti said “Everything is fine. But I don’t
feel sleepy in night. I just kept searching for better work. Then I was too busy
in work so sometimes I just don’t take interest in eating.” Doctor recommended
some medicines & suggested psychiatrist for sleep. But Shruti ignored then
after sometime she agreed. She went to psychiatrist. She told everything. She
began to feel relaxed as psychiatrist started to explain. She felt as if she
was solving her life’s all troubles. Step by step she began to create balance.
After sometime she met one suitable man. She started dating him. Her father
never approved her but she didn’t mind. She soon got settled with man whom she
dated. She understood one that she needed to marry man whom she liked not the one
who was admired by others & they pretended that this man liked her. Sandip
was worst choice of her life & she was glad that he rejected her.
