Missing wife
Sunrise was just bright as away Tushar was happy to see it from window. It was nothing but normal morning. He had to get and go to office. He knew that soon his wife would scream his name. Whenever I went home she started arguing that I don't give time to her. She always kept telling I am most irresponsible father. She didn't understand value of money Mom. She never sensed it. She always wanted to waste it as she wished but never understand that I need to earn it with hard work. Mom I had it enough today. Yesterday we had some argument and now due to it she just vanished with kids without telling me. Do you feel this is act of responsible mother? Don't you think that she needed to act in control? Mom I just want you to talk with her." Then he sensed that his Mom started crying slowly. He suddenly sensed that he didn't asked his Mom reason of her call. " Mom what happened? Why are you crying?" " Where are you? I am coming to fetch you." He started laughing. His Mom was talking in such a way as if he was just small kid. " Mom I am grown up man now. I am father of two kids. I can go everywhere by myself. I will come on that place you want me to come." " Then come home." " Home? At this time? Mom I am busy..." " Why don't you understand? Your Boss will not fire you for this. Just come home now." " Okay. I am coming." Tushar was so confused. It seemed so wrong to ask to Boss for vacation but he had to do it for his Mom. His Mom never created drama like this without cause. He knew that he couldn't ignore it. But he just didn't understand how could he just go ask for leave from Boss. But he decided that he had to do it. He started working faster. Soon he sensed that his Boss was standing outside. His many colleagues were standing with him. Boss " Tushar we want to talk about it." " About what? Well Sir since you are here. I want to talk about it. My Mom wanted me to meet her now." His Boss looked relieved. " Then you must go to her." " Yes I have to go. You know issue of Nilam. She would handle it." Every one looked angry. Tushar " Come on. It was not my mistake. She got angry without reason and went away. I never hurt her in any way. We all had to spend time in office. She just didn't understand so she went away. She didn't even left note." Now suddenly every one started to look shocked. Then he suddenly noticed few of his friends were even crying. " What happened? We are not getting divorce." Boss " I feel it will better if you call Mom here." " Here? I will go to her." " No need. She could come here. You can talk with her in cabin. She felt so happy when she saw your office and cabin." " Yes..Yes Tushar Boss is right. It is important for parents." Then every one started to suggest same thing. He felt so strange but he decided that it was better to do. Tushar " You are right. I just go and call my Mom." Then he called his Mom. His Mom immediately agreed to come to his office. She wrote down address. Then Tushar put down phone. Tushar saw every one was still in his cabin. " What happened? Why you people are standing like this?" They all gave awkard smile and ran back to their desks. He started to do his work. But he could easily sensed that every one was watching him. He didn't understand what was so strange about him. He just kept working again. He knew that he had to finish his work. He might get few days off if he worked faster. This way he could return take vacation of few days. He started working. He began to clear his files. Then he decided that he might just make one call to Nilam. Nilam's mobile rang. He was shocked when his Mom picked it up. He was so angry. She was staying with Mom. " Mom Nilam is staying with you. How dare you act like that with me!! I am your son. You cheated me for that selfish woman. You don't care for me. Mom you are my Mom how could you forget that." Then he started cursing Nilam. He hated it when his Mom loved someone more than him. Specially when it was Nilam, since it lead to conspiracy against him like this one. Tushar " Mom she is with you?" " No..no..it is just her mobile. I called you because she forgot it in my house." Tushar controlled his anger. " So she came there and then went away." His Mom stopped then said " Yes." He could sense that she was crying. Tushar " Mom stop crying. You are acting as if she is dead. She just left me. She will return in few days." Suddenly his Mom started crying loudly. Tushar felt something was wrong. " Mom what happened?" " Nothing. I am worried about you." " Don't worry Mom. It's just phase. It will be over. I feel. I will come to you. You can't locate my office in this state." " No..No..I am already in Auto. I am coming." " Okay as you wish." Tushar disconnected mobile. He saw every one was watching him. He felt it was totally strange. But then he resumed his work.
Tushar's Boss Harish was shivering with fear. It was worst for him. He never suffered such problem in his life. He always felt life was simple but it was complicated. He wanted Tushar out of his office as soon as possible. Since he knew that he was mad, he was talking about his dead wife as if she was alive. Harish was so tense. But he didn't force him out. Harish didn't want to turn him into violent person. He had seen mad people in many movies. They always managed to scare him. He just switched off his TV set. But he couldn't throw Tushar out of office. He knew his whole staff was tense and as boss they expect him to give solution but he didn't have any. He just needed to sent Tushar out of office. He decided that he must sit in his cabin until then. Tushar was so shocked when his Boss entered. Tushar was confused. Harish was looking at his expression carefully. Harish didn't want him to turn in violent way. Harish kept smiling towards to Tushar. Tushar " What happened?" Harish " Nothing. I was just waiting for that file you are clearing." " But it was needed tomorrow." " I know but I want it quick." Harish decided that he was Boss so he changed his tone. " Are you going to tell me when and where I need a file?" " No..no..I will give it to you." Tushar turned his attention to files and Harish took deep breathe of relief. Tushar started working on file. But he could clearly sensed that Harish was upset about him. Harish acted this way only when he was upset about something. Last time when one thief entered in office he reacted this way. Tushar was so tense now. Tushar put his file in side and asked " What happened?" " Nothing. "" Stop lying. I can see clearly every one around me is tense. What happened?" Harish saw Tushar's face was peaceful. Harish could see sincerity in his attitude. " Okay. I will tell you but promise me you will keep yourself calm." Harish sat next to Tushar. He started talking but then he felt so scared. Harish " I feel we might wait for your Mom." " My Mom? Just tell me what is wrong?" " Can you give me number of your Mom?" " You are acting as if I am some kid from nursery who needed his Mom just tell me what is wrong?" Harish " Actually you don't remember what happened yesterday." " Yesterday? Yes I remember it very well. Nilam was once again insisting that I must come with her on that vacation which was always interesting to her but boring to me when I have work to do. They just get busy with their things and I get bored in hotel room. Nilam went to sight seeing with kids but I always hate it. So instead of sitting in that hotel with laptop I have decided to come in office then she got ready. I remember her packing bags. Then kids asking for money. I gave money to them. Then they all went away to picnic..." " After that?" " She didn't came back. She had left me with anger." " Don't you sense something is missing?" " What is missing?" " You said she left yesterday and you feel she suppose to be home today." Harish started laughing. " You are right. I have missed days but that is not big problem, is it?" " It is. If you don't remember dates then you might manage to create trouble for office work. That's why your Mom took this appointment so I don't want you to miss it. You must have forgotten it." Tushar started to look confused and Harish smiled happily. Harish " So you must wait for your Mom and relax. I might order some coffee for you." Tushar " No thanks and I am sorry." " It's fine just relax." Then Harish went out. He immediately told staff his lie and they must repeat it. Every one looked relax. Tushar was in cabin. He started to remember things. He just didn't understand what was happening. If Nilam was on vacation why didn't his Mom told him that. She was crying as if some thing bad had happened. He just didn't understand why was she crying if story was as simple as Harish was telling. Then he remembered Nilam's mobile was with Mom. He started to calling Mom again. Then suddenly his Mom entered in his cabin, by her face he could tell she was crying entire night. " Mom what is wrong?" " Why did you come in office?" " I came here every day." Then suddenly Harish came from behind. Harish " He didn't remember any thing regarding yesterday." Slowly entire office gathered at door of his cabin. Tushar sensed that something was totally wrong with him. Every one was observing him like some strange thing. He just decided that he must go home. Tushar " Mom let's go home." Harish " Can you drive?" " Of course I can. I don't remember yesterday but I have not learn driving yesterday it was wrong ago." Then he sensed that he was talking to his Boss. " Sorry Boss." Harish gave sad smile and patted on his shoulder. " No need to apologize. Just remember whole office is with you. Take your time recover and then join office." Tushar just nodded and then went away as fast possible. His Mom kept running after him. He could easily sense entire office was observing him like some animal from zoo. He just wanted to get away from them as quickly as possible. He went away immediately. He sat in car. His Mom immediately sat inside from other side. Tushar " So we are going to which Doctor?" His Mom looked confused. " Mom will you tell me that truth?" His Mom started crying. He just didn't understand any thing. He had to talk in soft way. But he couldn't.
Reema was going to market when she heard screams from car which was parked on side. It was so strange. She could clearly saw a middle age man was screaming on his old Mom. She felt so strange. It was their family matter but still she felt that she had to interfere. But then she remembered what happened last time. She interfered in a fight and finally both parties abused her for interfering and her husband told her to stay away from those fights. He said that she must not do unnecessary social work. If some one ask for help she should go but if people are not asking then she must not interfere so she decided that to move ahead. Then she heard strange screams of old lady. She decided that she might knock on window and create some excuse. She went near window. Then she sensed that old woman was screaming because her son was hitting his head on car's window. But he saw her. He gave forced smile. His head was red. He was hurt. Reema decided that she must help him. " Sir what happened? You managed to hurt your head." " Nothing." When his Mom started telling " He is not feeling well please call Doctor." He suddenly began to scream on his Mom. Tushar " I am fine." He was screaming so loudly slowly crowd started to gather. Reema was so scared. She sensed that things were not normal. She thought that she must ask someone's help when suddenly traffic Police appeared. Police " What happened?" Tushar " Nothing officer. My Mom is over reacting." His Mom started calling " Please help me. I need to take him to hospital." " Mom are you mad? Fine let's go to hospital. Officer take us to some hospital." " Why?" His Mom " Please believe me. He must be taken to hospital." Tushar started laughing. " But why Mom? Just tell that to me." His Mom started shivering. Reema slowly to officer " Sir this fellow was hitting his head in car. Look at his head you can see mark." Police noticed it. He slowly called ambulance. Tushar was so upset by all this. He just didn't understand why did his Mom acting like mad person. He just started to call Nilam again. But this time his mobile didn't got ring. They said that it was switched off. He just wished that only if Nilam took that call. He wanted this nightmare to be over. He needed to see his family. His wife and his kids. Then suddenly his neighbor came running. " What happened? Tushar why are you screaming here? You suppose to stay in home." " Why?" Then that neighbor said it " Since your wife and kids died just yesterday." "What?" Tushar started laughing in strange way. " This is not first April why are you joking like this? I just hate that sort of joke. Mom tell them. He is lying." But his Mom kept crying. Her was so confused. This couldn't be true. He couldn't forget death of his family. Then he said " So there is news about accident and I forgot it? Right?" His Mom started crying loudly. " For god sake tell me." Neighbor looked scared now. He didn't want to talk more. But officer insisted. " But you told so much just end it." " Actually you burned their bodies yesterday." Tushar came out of car and started screaming " I can't forget burning my family. You are lying. My family is alive and they will come back soon." He started to look at his Mom with hope. But her hopeless face was telling him it was true. Tushar " But I wanted to remember their faces. I mean last faces. Did their faces fine? I am asking you." He ran towards neighbor. But officer caught him. Officer " Just relax. Then suddenly ambulance appeared. They forced Tushar to go inside. He wanted to ask question but he knew no one was going to answer it. He decided that Doctor would do it for him so he went inside it. He just wanted to remember every thing. He wanted to remember his good bye. He needed to remember it since he wanted to confirm that his house was going to be empty. But why? He still didn't knew it. He suddenly started asking ward boys and nurses " Why...why.."Then Nurse told him to take injection. Every thing went blank. Tushar's Mom kept crying slowly. " He was so fine yesterday when he arranged funeral. He told me they are in heaven no need to feel sad about them. But suddenly today." " Such thing happen. Did they die suddenly?" " Yes sort of. But they were taken to hospital. Tushar took them. His wife died last. Actually she survived for few days and finally gave up fight?" " What happened?" " Food poisoning." " Food poisoning? Your son was not eating in same house?" " Actually he used to take dinner and lunch at office only." Nurse looked at her in strange way but then she nodded and smiled. Nurse slowly turned to Ward boy. " This is so fishy. His family died due to food poisoning and he didn't even fall sick!!" " It happens. He might be eating outside." " So you are saying home cooked food is risky than outside food? This is nonsense." " I am saying it is just bad luck and you are not police or Doctor to judge. Let them do their job. If some one heard this, we might lose our jobs." Nurse suddenly looked scared. She looked around and kept quiet. But she started looking at Tushar with suspicion. She didn't want to sit near that fellow alone and she made it clear to ward boy who nodded in agreement. She had to stop speaking. She didn't want to lose her job. Whole time in ambulance Tushar kept saying " She was not dead. I don't kill her." His Mom kept counseling him. But she could see damage was already done. She couldn't change it. All hospital staff started thinking he was killer. His Mom kept telling. "He didn't do anything" Finally ward boy said " They kept having nightmares like that. Don't worry. We didn't feel evil about him." That Nurse didn't nod. They both kept quiet. Soon Tushar stopped talking and his Mom took breath of relief.
Tushar's Mom started to shivering again. Since soon Tushar started speaking same words again. Doctor looked at Tushar's Mom with suspicion. Then he took Tushar inside. But soon Doctor came out. Doctor " I have called Police. Your son is continuously saying he didn't kill his wife. Why?" " Actually there was continuous fights between them. No need to call Police. I will give you number of officer who was handling case of my daughter-in-law." " Great." He took number and called officer who confirmed that it was suicide and murder by Tushar's wife. Doctor " This is shocking. Your daughter-in-law took poisoned herself and her kids too. Why?" " Actually their marriage was never happy marriage. They just kept fighting continuously." " Regarding what?" " Regarding everything. Color of wall. School of kids. You just name the thing and I will describe fight." "Then why did they kept moving ahead." "Since no one thought. It will turn this way. They use to fight. Nilam use to take kids to her parents. She never acted this way. But then she had temper problem." " You are telling me she killed her kids and herself in anger?" " Yes. She had such a kind of temper that once she even threw away LCD from balcony. Luckily no one was down." " But what about your son? I don't believe he is angel." Tushar's Mom looked upset. Tushar Mom " Tushar also used to have his temper." " And what did he break in it? Your daughter-in-law's few bones?" " No..no..he just slapped her once when she threw away that LCD." " Really? Just once?" " Actually their argument keep increasing when I heard about this incidence. I told him. He must not act like that. If he couldn't control his anger, it is better that he should go away on that point. I didn't want to see my daughter-in-law slapped ever again. I did right thing. Didn't I?" " Yes. But better option was to take them to counselor." " I don't know much about those things. I just have one feeling that my son must not become wife beater. It was all her mistake. She always kept irritating him about staying in home. Then slowly she even started making parties in house. He never objected but one day her friends drank too much. They made so much noise that whole society started screaming about it. It was worst thing. So he objected. He told her to keep them away from his house. He never objected her freedom." "But why did it happened? Why she started to give those parties?" "Since she wanted to enjoy herself and throw away his money." "Did you advise him all those things?" " No..I never did that. He kept telling me." " Did you ever heard story from side of your daughter-in-law?" " No. She never told me any thing." Then suddenly Police entered. Police " It was suicide case. " " But what did you feel? Should we blame husband for it?" " Up to your thinking. This fellow never went home at all. He just kept running after money. He loved his kids so he had lot of time for them. But for wife he never had any time. So she took revenge." " Do you think she was mad?" " I don't know those proper terms. But she must had some mental problem." " What about this fellow?" " He looked perfect on that time." " But now he didn't remember a thing." Then suddenly a new doctor entered. " This is post traumatic symptoms. Due to guilt he must have that amnesia." " Do you feel he is hiding something?" " What an affair? No..I don't think so. But I am sure that every time he was not going to work. He just went on vacation alone since he want to keep away from wife. He must have many times wished if only she was dead. But he wanted his kids. She took revenge on him. I just feel she needed psychiatrist and same apply to him. I mean wondering around alone without family is not right thing." First Doctor who took Tushar in hospital " How did you know that?" " Why else he felt so guilty? His Mom is not looking so much guilty. If he had an affair, she must have felt guilty. In fact this officer would have never cleared him so easily from murder charges. He would have been suspect on his list." Police officer nodded. " You are right. He was traveling around world. He wasted so much money. He just wanted kids and Nilam was not ready to give them to him. They were never suitable to each other." Tushar's Mom " They have selected each other so we agreed to this marriage." Psychiatrist " No one is blaming you. Just relax. Keep Tushar in hospital after treatment for few days he would be fine." Tushar's Mom " He never hated her so much. He might use to say in anger. He wished only if she was dead. But it was just thought in anger. He never wanted to kill her." Psychiatrist " We all know. Let go in my room I will explain what we need to do." Then Tushar's Mom went away with Doctor. Police said bye and went back on duty and Doctor went away his way.
