Kiran was sitting on her sofa.It was her first day in her sister's house.As usual Raju didn't manage to come on naming ceremony of her sister's son. Kiran hated it when Raju couldn't able to come.But somewhere in her heart.She could understand after all Raju was busy in his business deals so he couldn't manage to come. Kiran was happy enjoying everything.Their kids were enjoying ceremony. Kiran was so happy with this life.She had full freedom and wonderful financial support.She some time missed Raju .But it was not that unusual to her.Her father was also business man and he also used to act same way.While her Uncle who used to come for every party and picnic finally turned into bankrupt.After hearing this Kiran began to show more respect for business man who were busy in their life. Kiran was enjoying it all.She was kissing her cute nephew. When she heard loud screams of shock,Kiran ran outside.Her sister was screaming out of joy and every one started calling Kiran .Slowly the sound began to increase and with them. Kiran's curiosity was increased after hearing them.When she finally came out,she saw a beautiful car was standing there.It was of golden colour and so beautiful. Kiran could easily guess it's price just by looking at it.Her sister "My god can you believe it?Your husband had sent this car for you.Look at that car and it is full of gifts for every one.Every one is jumping with joy.I can believe it.You are so lucky to have generous husband like that...But don't you think he is wasting too much money."Other relative"Right this is wastage of money.Why did I need such costly saree at my old age.But since you have given it.I will keep it."Kiran was so upset many of relatives were just useless still they were getting gifts and showing of as if they were doing a favor by accepting it. It all was so frustrating .Kiran just didn't understand that why did Raju do this.She never asked him to send car or gifts.She could understand that he might be want to show that he was sorry.But this was too much.She started calling Raju on mobile.But his mobile was switch off as usual.
Raju was thinking hard while doing his work.Now a days this had become common. Every time when Raju didn't go to come family function.He started feeling guilty about it.He just began to feel that he was neglecting his family.In this situation he couldn't able to go on that ceremony.He was sure that Kiran's relative would taunt her regarding it so he decided to send most expensive gifts to please them.He didn't want his wife to be taunted because of him.Actually this business was not just his work.It was his pleasure also.When he would complete that work,he was planning to go and enjoy with his colleagues. Raju was feeling so guilty about it.His wife was going to that ceremony.He could clearly saw in her eyes that she hated going to such social functions and yesterday she was forced to go on one marriage from Raju's relation.Now next day this ceremony Kiran was forced to go to every ceremony because Raju couldn't manage to attend any of them.He was too busy with his work and his life.He had to go everywhere with his clients.After all clients were most important thing of his life without them.His business was useless so he must treat them with respect.But now a days he hardly spend any time with his family.Then he finally completed his work.Then he did his speech.He spoke so nicely and perfectly that no one could able to guess that he was tense regarding any thing.He had even switched off his mobile and slowly he completely forgot about it.Then he went to enjoy with his colleagues.They were so happy and pleased that he totally forgot about his mobile.When he returned home, he clearly saw lights in his house were still burning.He slowly entered in house.When he entered in hall, he saw that Kiran was waiting for him and her face was red with anger.He suddenly started feeling guilty was each movement he enjoyed.
Raju came home late.But Kiran was not upset about it.She knew that he went to enjoy with his friends.She could easily understand it.She was upset by those unnecessary gifts.It was a show off of their money and Kiran always hated these type of show off. Kiran "Why did you switch off your mobile?I was trying to call you for hours.""My mobile..."Raju looked confused.Then he took out his mobile and understood his mistake.He must had switched off mobile while he was busy in meeting then totally forgot about it. Raju "I am so sorry.I totally forgot.I am really sorry.How could I do such mistake?I am so worthless..."After that Raju started blaming himself in such intensity that Kiran could make her self ready to tell him about his second mistake.After all they had just given gifts to their friends and relatives as token of their friendship.It was not some kind of crime. She decided that it was okay to be little bit generous. If people took it in wrong way,it was their fault not Raju's mistake.So Kiran decided that she would not blame his about it.After all he was already nervous.She didn't want to upset him more so she said"Now take it easy. Every thing is fine.I was just tense about you.Now go and change your cloth.You are looking so exhausted.Go fresh up your self.I will make fresh lemonade for you.In this heat you need it."After saying this Kiran went inside,then suddenly kids came out running.It was quite late still kids were awake. Raju"Why don't you two went to sleep?""Because we want to meet you Papa." His elder son said this with such determination that he was sure that they must be hiding it from their Mom.Younger daughter"Papa now a days we just could able to see your face."His small daughter was also complaining about his ignorance about family.He felt more and more guilty.Then both the kids started describing that beautiful car. Raju thought that he did most right thing by giving those gifts.He was just worthless if he didn't even give those gifts.Then after some seconds Kiran came and forced kids to go to bed.Then they both went to sleep.It was really exhausting day for them.
Next day once again Raju came late night at home.When Kiran woke up,she was shocked to see a gift on her table. Raju had already left home and went to work. Kiran had never expected gift because there was no occasion for gift.Then she opened that gift.She saw inside that box.There was a strange sort of earring. It looked costly but too heavy for Kiran's ears. Kiran knew that she could never able to use it but still she decided that she would not tell this to Raju. After all she didn't want to hurt his feelings. At same moment kids came running inside.Kids had also received gifts and they liked them. Kiran thought that Raju might be wanted to surprise them so she just showed happiness. But then slowly such gifts were started showering on them every day.Those gifts finally became even useless for kids.Their daughter "Mom why did Papa have to bring this gift every day?They are just useless.""I know sweetheart.But we can't tell this to Papa on his face."Their son "Why not Mom?Just tell him to stop bringing those gifts and he will stop it."" Mom can't do that it will hurt Papa.""Why?""Because he is bringing them to please us.When he will understand that we are not please.It will surly hurt him."Her son nodded.But slowly it started become irritating to them all.They slowly started passing gifts to others.But one day whole market was closed due to strike. Kiran didn't even manage to get proper things for household work. Kiran waited for Raju but when he didn't came finally she went to sleep.At midnight she felt that some one was crying.When she went outside,she shocked to see Raju was sitting in corner and was crying.Kiran went near him.She was so scared.She thought that he must be hurt somewhere but when she came near him.He started talking "Ohh sweetheart I can't able to get gifts.""It's okay.""No I just can't able to sleep unless I get that gifts.I want that gift."Now Raju was looking so strange.He clearly looked like some person who was on verge of hysteria. He began to scream and cry.He was telling her that she would left him if he didn't gave her a gift.He could feel it.He was so sure that she and their kids were hating him.He started getting hysteric.He started hitting his head on wall as a punishment of not buying gift. Kiran tried hard to stop him but she just couldn't able to stop him.She saw that kids were watching it.Then Raju saw them,he turned towards them in hope to hug them.But they were so scared that they just ran away. Raju "Look at them.They hated me until I gave them gifts.They will hate me.I give them.I give them gift gift gift....."Then he began to chant the word gift.He saw saying it in such strange way.He was not even looking at her.He was staring in unknown place. Kiran was so scared.It was midnight so she couldn't able to find Doctor at that time.She did first aid and tried to stay awake.But still she fell asleep slowly.

Raju was wounded.But still he went outside for that stupid gifts. Kiran "Raju what are you doing? Why are you forcing those gifts?"She saw that kids were standing in corner.They were holding their gifts but they were shivering like leaf."What force?They love my gifts.""Look at their faces.They were shivering and crying."Raju looked at kids.Once again his eyes looked normal. Raju"I just don't understand. I can't live without bringing those gifts.I just can't.""Those gifts are nothing but curse for us.""Yes Papa.Mom is right. I don't want gift."Kids were crying now.They hugged him and started telling that they hate those gifts.They didn't say that because they thought that it would hurt him. Raju was crying now. Raju "I think I am mad man.My god what shall I do?"Kiran "We shall go to psychiatrist.You will be fine."Raju was so confused that he nodded.Then they took appointment for him. Raju was bringing gifts every day.They all hated to see them now. Raju saw it on their faces.But he couldn't stop himself from bring them. Finally they went to Doctor.He talked with Raju for hours.Finally he called Kiran inside "Kiran can you tell me one thing?Was your marriage a forced one?"Kiran was confused. Kiran "Not at all I liked my husband..""And what about your husband?""Kiran was more confused now. "I thought that he was willing at that time he was in U.S.A.""Actually this was forced marriage for him.His father forced him to marry you just because of your father's connection.He married to you.But still he was never involved.""I can't believe it." Kiran was so angry.She felt cheated."Now please try to understand he was feeling guilty about it.He never wanted responsibility.But some where he was feeling guilty and he started showing extra love to you by throwing gifts.""So he had affair in U.S.A and ..."Doctor started laughing.Doctor"Now please don't start to create mental problem for your self.He was never involved with anyone.He just hated responsibility."Kiran was shocked. Kiran"Just hated responsibilities but many people feel this way.""But Raju is little extra sensitive so he is suffering from obessesive compulsive disorder.In this person began to repeat some thing to reduce his guilt or problem and then slowly he could live without it.Now I will explain you it's treatment."Then Doctor explained it.From that day every one began to hate gifts from Raju. In their family Raju was banned from giving gift.Now a days Raju didn't even bring gift for any one's birthday gift. It was their rule and Raju never break it because he didn't want to scare them.
