Charu's store
Charu was counting all donations she had collected. She didn’t like this job but she didn’t have much option. People hated it when she asked for donations. They didn’t want to give money. She didn’t even blame them fully other girls said that these rich people had lots of money so they could surely give some. But she didn’t feel that way. These people might be rich but they had their demands too. They didn’t have so much money. She noticed clothing of their kids so costly. Those kids were demanding toys which were also with price reaching to sky. If those people gave her angry look they screamed on their kids too. In fact they sometimes needed to literally drag away their kids. She watched that drama entire time. But she knew due to her attitude she was not getting enough donations. While other girls were managing to get a lot by pushing. It was so upsetting. Charu knew that their attitude was wrong but still it was managing to become successful. She just wanted to shift in her normal job as soon as possible. She wanted to become salesgirl again. She loved showing different clothes to customers. She didn’t mind little bit arrogant attitude of customers. She considered every customer superior than her. She managed to sell lots of stuff. She was getting admired for it. She was so happy. Suddenly on that moment new girl came. “ Tara” was written in bold letters on her uniform name plate. She was nice looking & full of confident. She came near her. Then Tara pointed towards her donation box. “ My God! What’s wrong with you! Such low donation?! When will you learn? Call some your friends.” “ Friends?!” “ Yes. Without using influence you can’t manage to donation!” Then Tara went to counter. Charu saw some customers forgot to take their free coupon. Tara took them. Then Tara called. “ Hi Rina how are you?” Then Rina told something on mobile. Tara smiled. Tara “ Actually I got one coupon of 50% off on branded shop…yes..yes you can come & use it. Surely nothing is needed to get it. Just come.” Then Tara smiled. Tara waited for Rina to come. When Rina came she chatted for sometime then soon Rina put large sum in donation box & went away with Coupon which was more beneficial for her. Tara slowly began to convince Clark to give her all unwanted coupons. After sometime they managed to get lots of coupons. Many customers didn’t even sense that they missed coupon. Charu didn’t like what they were doing but she noticed soon they managed to get lots of donations. Store manager personally came to Tara’s table & said “ My God you got skill. How did you manage it?” Tara gave angry look to Charu. Charu felt so upset. Charu was not planning to say anything but she didn’t like the way Tara threatened her. She felt so nervous. She wanted to feel normal. She didn’t plan to show any mistake of Tara. Charu just kept quiet. Then Manager came to Charu. Manager gave her upset look. “ You are not so good in this. I want to you to go back as salesgirl again.” She said “ Thank you sir.” She immediately went back to her corner. She was so happy to come back to counter. She began to arrange all clothes. She began to wait for customer. At beginning no one came but slowly customers started to come. She began to show them clothes. She knew that plenty of customers didn’t buy anything but she didn’t mind. She felt so nice when she began to show them different clothes. It was so nice. She kept watching nice dresses. She didn’t wear but when she showed it to customers she managed to touch them handle them. She felt so nice due to soft touch of that cloth. She felt so happy when she started to watch different customers wearing them in mirror. She hoped that dress would find some nice owner. She knew that it was strange but she wanted to find nice owner for each dress. She wanted those people who would admire design of dress. It was important for her that she found right customers for dresses. She was working hard when suddenly Tara appeared. Tara “ Why did you show those cheap dresses?! Come on! Don’t you sense if we increase our sell of dresses they will increase our commission & salary.” She didn’t say anything. She sense one thing that Tara was going to be her next Boss. Tara was not officially Boss but from first day she was friendly with cashier & Manager both. Charu looked around. Soon she sensed remaining staff didn’t seem so upset with Tara. Tara was ordering them. They were doing it. In fact some were admiring her ideas. Tara was teaching them how to manage profit while fooling customers. Charu didn’t say anything. She just kept arranging clothes back on place. She kept them in nice way. She wanted to arrange those clothes in great way. She needed to sell them. Then other customers came. She kept showing dresses in her way. Tara kept coming & ordering to show some dresses. She showed them too. Tara talked sweetly with customers & tried to convince them to buy those costly dresses but finally they didn’t. Charu was happy about it. Since due to this finally Tara gave up trying, she began to call her own customers. Charu never thought that would be so complicated but it was. Tara began to treat her customers like VIP. Sometimes Charu’s customers were started to get treatment of low level. Charu noticed anger on their faces. Charu was so upset when she managed to find one empty room for her favourite customer. She was happy she told lady to go inside & Tara literally pushed Charu’s customer aside & went inside. Then Tara arranged clothes for her customer & said “ My customer need costly wedding dress. I need that room more than you.” Charu felt so angry. Her favourite customer gave angry look too. Her customer put her dress on side & went away. Charu felt so sad. Charu was working for such long time. But she knew that no one cared for her. She decided that she had enough. She just went to manager & told “ I want to quit job.” “ You can’t do it suddenly.” “ I know but I want to inform you today.” Then Manager looked towards her. Manager “ Well when I think about it. You can quit today. I don’t mind. Tara is temporary. We will keep her as permanent instead of you & arrange other temporary.” Charu gave nice polite smile & nodded.
From next day Charu started to search for new job. It was hard for her. Soon her Dad started to taunt her for losing job. She wanted to find new one. But it was not happening. She began to help her Mom in house work. She began to adjust with life in house. She knew that she was no longer useful in many people’s eyes. She supposed to earn. One day her one relative suggested to her “ Why don’t you just go & beg to your employee for job? Come on! Your ego is not so important! Your salary was precious. Your Dad can’t keep feeding you like that.” She didn’t want to cry but she sensed that she was shaking little bit by emotions. She knew that her father always wasted money on these people. They gave regular parties. They enjoyed every festival but still when it came to keep her in house & giving her clothes & food they started to have issues. She just said in low voice “ I tried but they don’t want salesgirl any more.” That relative gave her angry look. It was clear that they wanted her to find job on any cost. Charu felt so upset. She slowly began to settle in whatever she had. Soon she started dating boys. She met few boys. She began to adjust & slowly she found suitable life partner. Satish was nice boy. She began to date him. Soon her family decided to fix marriage & everything was arranged. Now she needed a beautiful saree on that special day. She already told her mother that she didn’t want to go back in her old shop where she was doing job. Her Mom accepted her wish. They found nice shop in their locality & did purchases from there. But when it came to getting gifts from in-laws she didn’t want to force anything. She decided to let them choose shops. Actually Satish's family was rather rich family than her. She knew that they would want some special branded clothes when they planned to purchase for her. She decided that she needed to let them purchase whatever they wanted. She didn’t ask much about shop. In fact she was sort of scared to ask about shop. Her mother-in-law was little bit strict lady. But Charu was going to live with Satish separately & that was already decided by her mother-in-law so she didn’t need to worry about staying with her mother-in-law. It was so pleasant to plan her new life. She was so involved in her dreams that she never asked name of shop. Not until her mother-in-law called her personally to tell her that she could come in shop to purchase she understood that it was her old shop. It was too late to say anything. She knew that it was going to be worst. She got ready her best. Then she called on Cab. She sat in it. She kept checking her dress & make up plenty of times. Then finally she came out. In her heart she was hoping that Tara or others might not recognise her. She went towards shop. She regretted wearing her new sandal. Her sandal at least twice managed to slip. She didn’t want to slip on floor before all. She finally reached to shop. She entered & started searching for her mother-in-law. Soon she sensed that Tara was attending her mother-in-law personally. Now this was worst. But when she came near Tara saw her. Tara gave odd look. Tara asked “ This is your daughter-in- law?” “ Yes!” “ What is your budget?” Her mother-in-law laughed. “ Don’t judge my budget like that! She is my son’s choice. She is perfect in his house. I mean he just began his earning. You are not planning to give him too much money. He need to manage on his own.” Tara gave sweet laugh. Tara “ I understand. You need normal simple girl who can manage house in low budget.” “ Yes & it is precious. We saw many rich girls. They were such snob. Kind heart is important not money.” “ No doubt. Charu have heart of gold. In this shop she gave so much importance even to low income customers. She showed them same respect. But sadly Manager can’t understand her kindness.” “ Yes..yes world is cruel. Not made for girl like Charu. We need to run after money. Now Charu is lucky that she doesn’t need to earn!” Tara showed fake surprise & added “ You are so nice. You permitted your daughter-in-law to remain in house! Now a days no one do that.” Charu’s future mother-in-law was on top of the world now. Charu’s to be mother-in-law started admiring her attitude herself. “ I want my son to be independent & generous. I mean we must not concentrate on wealth. Poor people deserve things too. Now look towards Charu! What is wrong in her? Just her background! It is not wrong too. Everyone know that she is enough educated.” Charu began to feel nervous. Actually education was not Charu’s strong point. In fact Charu didn’t have much strong points in her life. Charu always remained weak. She showed guts only once when she resigned from her job. Charu kept looking around in shop. She slowly said “ I will check clothes.” Tara “ Of course! You know all. Once you use to be salesgirl here before they fire… I mean you resign. For I think new job?” Charu “ No I resign since I don’t want to work as salesgirl any more. I felt that I am not improving in anything.” Tara “ Right? You were not even able to sell dresses properly! You don’t receive any sort of training for it here! I know I learn it by myself but mostly people get training for it.” Charu’s mother-in-law looked towards Tara with shock & said “ Really?! They keep training even for this simple job.” Charu felt so nervous. Tara began to explain value of that job but Charu just went in corner. Charu wanted to feel normal. She wanted to tell herself that she could become nice wife but suddenly she began to feel that it was impossible. She started to feel that she needed to cancel plan of wedding. She was so frustrated. She was so nervous. She started to shaking. She began to feel so nervous. She sensed one thing that she did wrong by agreeing to marriage. She wanted to escape. She knew that she promised but she could back out! Then she knew that she couldn’t. She was tired. She just wanted to escape from all this struggles. She just wanted to finish all. She began to look in clothes then without second thought she decided one. She didn’t even look towards it. She just kept it near on table & went away. She didn’t even told her mother-in-law that she was going. She went away.
Charu’s Mom kept waiting for her. Charu didn’t come. She waited for long time then finally she called her future mother-in-law. Her future mother-in-law took call & started abusing Charu. “ Your daughter is arrogant. She was not match for my son. I feel we need to think about this marriage again.” Charu’s Mom knew that they were planning to cancel marriage. Charu’s Mom was so nervous. It was going to be worst set back for Charu after her losing job. Charu’s life was going totally on wrong track. Her Mom was so tense about her future. She wanted her to get married but she was not sure that this family was perfect for her. Charu’s Mom wanted a family which accepted her as she was. In this case Satish told that he would accept her but Charu’s Mom felt doubts even about it. Satish was totally under influence of his concept of love. Charu’s Mom kept sensing that his Mom was not supportive to this marriage. She kept pretending. Charu’s Mom didn’t want to support this marriage now. Charu’s Mom began to call Charu again & again. But Charu was not taking her call. It was so frustrating. Charu’s Mom started to look out of window with hope that Charu would come back. Charu’s Mom waited for some hours then finally she had enough. She decided to call Satish. Satish took call. Charu’s Mom asked angrily “ What happened between my daughter & your Mom? If you don’t want to marry you could have told us?! You don’t need to target her like that.” He sounded shocked. He said “ Auntie somthing happened between my Mom & Charu. Charu just went out of shop without telling her anything. Charu wanted to buy a dress for wedding but she selected totally odd dress. Honestly something which we wear on sad occasions. Mom didn’t understand what she was doing.” “ Where did they went for shopping?” Satish told about shop. Mom “ It was her old shop. She never entered in it. Now where she might be?” Mom disconnected call. Then Mom ran to take her purse. Mom immediately closed door & went out. Mom took Auto & reached to Mall. She began to search in Mall. She kept looking for her after long time she found Charu. Charu was walking in Mall. Her eyes seemed totally empty. She was walking in circles. She was not stopping at all. Mom noticed that Security people were asking her questions but she was not answering. They were looking towards her in strange way. A lady security guard tried to talk too but when it didn’t work finally that lady Security guard tried to hold hand of Charu. Charu didn’t stop. Instead Charu started to drag security guard with her. People were started screaming. Her Mom went towards her. Her Mom tried to talk with her but Charu didn’t respond then after sometime finally Charu looked towards Mom. She suddenly came to her senses. She looked towards lady security guard & left her hand. She began to apologise to angry guard. That Guard asked angrily “ What were you doing? Are you out of your mind? You were okay when you were working here.” Charu began to cry loudly. Mom took hold of her shoulders & literally forcibly took her out of mall. Mom knew that people came in mall to relax they didn’t want this type of drama in Mall. For people it was something which was scary. Mom took her outside. When she sat in Cab, driver asked “ Should we go to hospital?” Mom felt so confused but then she looked pale & horrible face of Charu & said “ Yes..yes we must take her to Doctor.” Mom didn’t want to go home. She was scared that someone might object taking Charu to Doctor. Charu needed it & Mom was going to do it. Mom gave sweet smile to Charu & said “ Don’t worry. You will be fine.” When Mom took her inside, they admitted Charu for check up. Charu’s blood pressure was high. Charu was not talking properly. Doctor immediately suggested psychiatric treatment. Mom agreed to all. Finally Charu’s Dad called “ Where are you? Are you purchasing for wedding even so late! I need food at home..” “ I am in hospital & that wedding is cancelled.” Mom disconnected call after saying this. Charu’s Dad came running in hospital. By then they began to check Charu. Charu’s Dad slowly asked her Mom “ What happened? Did this happened since marriage was cancelled?!” “ No this happened since you forced her to do that job. I feel that job was disgusting. She worked so hard as salesgirl but they wanted other girl who did cheating now if Satish wanted to marry that other girl then it’s okay with me. But I want my daughter out of this mess. She is going to take proper treatment that was needed.” Charu’s Dad was so confused. He just nodded. After that they did all what Doctors suggested. It was hard experience for them all. Charu’s Mom informed all relatives that marriage was cancelled. It was decided by them. Charu’s Mom didn’t even inform Satish about Charu. Charu’s Mom didn’t want that marriage. Satish kept calling for sometime. Finally they all decided to cancel marriage. Charu’s Mom felt that this was over. But after sometime Psychiatrist called. He told Charu’s Mom that Satish was keep coming to meet them again & again. Psychiatrist “ I don’t feel he is normal. This incidence creating impact on him. Let me talk with them both. I feel I can do counselling. I don’t feel Satish is cause of trouble. Tara is cause of all issue & Charu didn’t able to get over her. Charu went ahead with her life without properly healing her old wounds. Now step by step she will be fine. I don’t want her to break her marriage & relationship without cause.” Mom had full confidence on psychiatrist so she permitted Psychiatrist to discuss. After sometime Charu came back. Satish & Charu decided to do register marriage. Satish’s Mom was upset but still agreed. Charu’s parents wanted proper marriage but they didn’t argue too. Finally Charu & Satish started their new life. They both seemed to get along perfect but still Charu avoided her in-laws. Satish didn’t drag her to meet them too. It was clear that bond between Charu & her mother-in-law was broken. Satish didn’t see much hope of it’s improving. He didn’t want any damage to his relationship so he gave up trying. Since according to his Mom she never meant anything wrong for Charu. Tara managed to put words in her mouth & Charu didn’t want to discuss at all. So they kept avoiding each other totally. At beginning people taunted then slowly all accepted. Their life began to move ahead in their way.
