Nina's misfortune
Nina wanted new dream which start to built her life. She loved Samir so much but it seemed that it was not working. They tried so much. Nina remembered their last date. They both tried to smile and entertain each other. Samir even tried vulgar jokes. It made all worst. She tried to talk about social issues. But it didn't work. Then finally they even discussed about each other's hobbies but even it was failure. They tried so hard. But they couldn't adjust. They were school friends. On that point they liked each other. It seemed to be in love with each other. Their families used to go on picnics. He had one sister and she was only child. His sister used to come with them. But they didn't pay attention to her. They were totally lost in each other's company. They were living in magical world. It was so perfect. But then they went to college. Her college life was interesting. She made many friends. She didn't made boyfriends. She kept thinking that they would get back. Then when they were in middle of their college studies at age of 18 their parents decided that they should get engaged. They liked that idea. It seemed so perfect. She was so happy. She kept spending her entire life just in his dreams. She lost in her dream world. She didn't try to understand reality. Even he was doing same thing. Samir didn't do any affair or she didn't cheated him. Both remained honest. But they also went ahead in their own ways. They developed their hobbies. They started to create their own life as per their choice. Sadly their choices were different. It all started to become visible when they went for movie. She was interested in different movies while he was interested in different. When she came home, she was so irritated by movie of his choice that she decided to go out and drink some wine. He was so shocked when she told that she drank alcohol. He didn't want her to drink it while he was drinking too. She suggested that they both should quit or continue. But he kept insisting that she must stop drinking while he would continue. It was not right. She wanted him to treat her like equal. When she discussed this with her parents, her Mom suggested that she must adjust. After all they was such good friendship between families. She nodded. She tried to adjust but she was not happy. She didn't talk much. Sameer began to sense it too. Sameer tried his best to adjust. One day he told her that she could drink. Sameer " My friends told me all wives drink so it was okay. You can drink.." she was so angry. She stopped drinking for her health. He told her that it was risky for her. She remembered his all explainations how did man's body was different than woman & how did it harm more to woman. Now as his friends suggested it suddenly became okay. She wanted to argue but she controlled her anger & said " It's okay." Then one day she went to party with him. Now he wanted her to drink. Sameer began to tell her that it was his wrong attitude. But she didn't want to start drinking. She read so many articles about alcohol during that time that she was scared to touch it. She didn't drink. It was not only issue. They were different in every issue. One day finally his friends suggested them that they needed to choose different partners. One friend " You look like fire and water. You are not wrong. You have same power and strength. Same dynamics but still you can't stay together." They nodded. They sensed one thing that they couldn't adjust. He was different. She tried to adjust but it was not working. He kept demanding things & she was beginning to lose her identity. She knew that she was acting different. She was trying just to become like his imagination. It was so upsetting. She was smiling but there was burden in it. Her parents kept insisting that she needed to change herself just as he wanted. But soon he started to get irritated with her. It was so frustrating. Her parents kept pushing her. She kept trying. It was big shock when he told her their engagement was over. She thought that her pretending was working. She didn't want to get out of her marriage this way. She wanted to marry him. When he gave back engagement ring, she was in such shock that she didn't give back her ring. She didn't even went home. She was so scared. She called her Auntie and decided to spend one night in her home. She still remembered how much she cried in Auntie's arms. She didn't want to face her Mom after this failure. It was so shocking. She didn't understand why did this happened to her. She didn't sense that Sameer's parents might call in her home for returning of that engagment ring. After all it was costly diamond ring with Ruby setting. They couldn't gift it to some girl. She was not their daughter-in-law saw that ring would stay in locker for future daughter-in-law. But truthfully this ring couldn't fit her. Nina knew that her finger was too small. She didn't feel Dinesh's next choice would be slim like her. He wanted healthy wife. She was too thin. He pointed it out many times too. She began to cry when her Mom called her. Mom was screaming on her in angry voice. Mom " What did you done? Why did he break engagement?" She was so shocked. She did nothing. " Mom I did nothing. He was also trying to adjust. I don't understand where did it went wrong?" " Do you understand what happened?" She didn't say anything for long time. " Now people will make stories. Just because of you reputation of our house got destroyed. It was horrible.." she didn't understand. " Mom I quit drinking. I went to every movie. But still he broke engagement!" " But did you start drinking when he suggested? Did you admire those movies?" She didn't do that. She didn't like that movie so she couldn't think anything in it worth admiring. She never thought that one day it might cause such a big issue. She didn't want to start drinking since she read side-effects so she couldn't start it. " Mom if I start drinking he will not come back." Then Mom took deep breath and started abusing her. She couldn't forget those words but she needed to go back. She took out engagement ring from drawer. Her Auntie kept it there. She supposed to return it next day. She began to watch in mirror and started to get ready.
Dinesh got out of car. He knew that Nina's parents wouldn't give up so easily. They were going to try again. He didn't want Nina in his life. His parents were upset too. They wanted to maintain nice relationship with Nina's parents but he didn't like her. He knew that he disliked her from her first date. During college days she was changed & he didn't like it. His parents said that she would change for him. But it didn't suit him. he didn't like her. She was trying so hard so he kept pretending but he didn't like her at all. He tried to laugh & joke but he didn't like her. He was not in love with any other girl but he couldn't imagine his life with her. He was so upset. He didn't understand how could he landed in such big mess. At time of engagement everything was looking perfect. He felt that he was taking right decision. He was so sure but now! He knew that he was worst choice. She was not like life partner he was accepting. He made it clear to his parents before breaking engagement but he didn't expected that she wouldn't return engagement ring when he would return. He thought that she would gave it back. But she didn't. She just took his ring and ran out of restaurant. He was not even sure that she kept his ring carefully. Those things were diamond rings. Costly things! They must go back to owner properly. He didn't like the way things were happening. She was acting like mad person. She was not acting like just normal person but overemotional fool. He was tense about her future but it was not his concern. He was not planning to get married with her. He just wanted that ring. But he knew that It was not going to be easy. He went to Nina's flat. He took deep breath and rang door bell. Her Dad opened door. He immediately asked " Did she done something wrong?" Her Dad was already willing to bow before him. He hated this attitude. They were emotionally blackmailing him in marrying their daughter. It was totally wrong and he didn't like it. He was so upset. " No..no it is nothing like that your daughter is wonderful but I don't want to marry her." " So what is problem? You don't want to marry so soon then we can wait for few years!" He was so upset. He didn't want to marry her & how many times he needed to say it! He was not going mad due to their insisting on this marriage. He didn't want to marry her and he was not going to do it. " No. I don't want to marry your daughter!" Nina's Dad looked shocked. He wanted to ask something but Dinesh immediately started demanding engagement ring. Luckily Nina came on that moment. She searched in her purse and finally produced it. She didn't look upset now. She was not interested in chatting so he managed to run away. Nina's Dad tried to call him. But Dinesh didn't turn behind. Then her Dad started abusing Nina loudly. Her Mom started to cry loudly too. Nina was watching silently on that point she felt first time that she was no longer in that body. She was in different world. She felt so strange. She was in different time. She started to see her body down. She was watching it. She was standing there. She was not crying just standing. Soon she began to sense that entire society was coming out. All were watching her with shock. She was so confused. She didn't understand what was happening. She couldn't go out of body like this. At this point she needed to talk & explain. She knew that she needed to say something. Her Dad kept saying her wrong behaviour managed to put her relationship in trouble. She needed to say that it was not true. She didn't do any mistake. But she could see herself far away from her body. She was not inside. She was so confused. She didn't understand what was happening. Suddenly all became unreal. She was far away. She was not getting humiliated. Someone else seemed like inside that body. It seemed as if someone else was getting insulted. She was not happy about it. She wanted to go inside house to avoid hearing further conversation with Dad. But she couldn't. She was so shocked. It was for few seconds. Then she was normal again. She didn't say anything. She went inside house. She was so glad that she finally managed to get control of her legs. It was frustrating. She didn't took risk of speaking. She was not sure what would she say. That day she just decided to cry. She went in room & cried. She sensed one thing that her new life was not going to be easy. Her Dad was going to be her worst enemy. On next morning she saw it. She sat for breakfast. He immediately started looking towards her plate accusingly. Then he turned to her Mom and said " So she is planning to keep eating in home like that? Now that her engagement is broken. I want her to study more." She shivered. She was not sure that she wanted to choose further studies at this moment. She wanted to get over her pain. She was so upset. She knew that she did all for Dinesh. Today she didn't even washed her face. She was not no longer interested in her face. Her face was perfect. She could see it in mirror. But it was not so beautiful once. Or she thought that it was. Her face was not pretty enough.Otherwise surely her engagement wouldn't be broken. It was so upsetting. She had her perfect future set but now it all destroyed. She needed to find a way to earn money. Her Dad didn't want her in his house. But actually this house was her home too. Still since her engagement was broken, she suddenly became burden to him. In morning she began to doubt her decision of not starting to drink. She used to drink. She stopped it for him. She might have started it for him again. He could be happy if she drank. She suddenly began to feel that she should just bring one bottle of wine and drank all then he would like her again. But she knew that it didn't going to happen. She saw in her breakfast plate. Her Mom cooked her eggs in her favourite style. It was alOtherwise for her when she get less marks! That was used to be worst sorrow of her life. She didn't want to cry on her breakfast table. But she started to cry.
Nina's younger cousin sister Prita was watching all. Prita was so scared of Nina's Dad. She didn't understand what she supposed to do. Her Mom was sick so she went abroad with her Dad for treatment. They were saying that she would survive. She was feeling so upset. In few days they would do her Mom's operation & she was praying to God that it would be success. Otherwise she might needed to stay in this household. She didn't like it. They were not nice people. She saw how did they bullied Nina. She was her favourite sister. Nina was so sweet if it was possible then she should have kept Nina with her in her house. But she knew that her parents were not rich. They couldn't manage to keep any more family member. Prita knew that her parents considered Nina's parents God alike they would never go against them. Prita just wanted to vanish from there. She could see that Nina was crying. But she didn't understand what was wrong with Nina on that day. She saw some strange expression on her face. Prita was looking like some statue. She wanted to pull her inside. Entire Society was watching her. Nina's Dad was abusing her. Prita wanted to scream on him. But Prita didn't. Her parents warned her against it. Prita didn't want to stay in Nina's house. Nina was crying. Nina wanted to vomit but she didn't. She just kept trying hard to swallow all. It was so frustrating. She needed to tell Nina to relax first. Finally Nina finished her eggs & ran in her bedroom. Nina was all alone. Prita wanted to join. But Prita was confused. She didn't want to interfere if Nina didn't want. Prita didn't understand why did they like Dinesh so much. He was nice fellow but it was old thing. Now a days he kept taunting Nina every day. He kept insulting her. It was so hard for Nina. Prita didn't understand how could she tolerated such person. But it was possible that she was tolerating him since she wanted to avoid this drama. This drama was much more horrible. Prita was sitting in one corner of hall now. She didn't understand what she supposed to do. She began to call her Dad when suddenly Nina's Dad appeared. He started talking to her. Prita was so scared. Nina's Dad " Are you calling your Dad?" Prita began to feel guilty. But it was not crime. She could talk with her Dad. Prita nodded. " So you are planning to tell about Nina?" She was so shocked. She understood that he was calling her backstabber indirectly. He didn't say anything to her but he managed to say all. Prita " No..no I was planning tol ask about Mom!" Nina's Dad smiled happily. " Great! I know you will not tell things from this house to anyone." Prita nodded. Prita sensed that she must not discuss anything. It was so upsetting. Prita nodded. She went in room. Nina was not crying. She was just looking out of windowl. She was in swing. That swing was moving repeatedly. She went near Nina and started talking to her. Prita " I am with you. It was not your mistake. He was so strange. He must be involved in somebody. Do you feel he might had a girlfriend in college? What do you feel?" But Nina said nothing. She just kept watching. Prita was shocked. Prita didn't understand what was meaning of it. She was so confused. Nina didn't answer. Priti assumed that it was yes. She stood up & without second thought she went to Nina's Mom. Prita wanted to ask her same question. Nina was still doing nothing. Nina was just watching. Prita went in kitchen & looked at face of Nina's Mom. Nina's Mom managed to control her emotions. Nina's Mom smiled immediately when she saw Prita. Prita " Did Dinesh had affair in college?" Nina's Mom looked shocked. Nina's Mom began to see it all clearly. Nina's Mom " Possible! That was reason behind his attitude. But don't worry. If this is the case soon it will come out." Prita nodded. Then Prita called her Dad. Prira asked about her Mom. It seemed as if her Mom would recover soon. Prita was so happy. Prita started talking & she slowly closed door. Then Prita began to tell all to her Dad. But Prita's Dad cleared his throat & said " Actually it is not about that boy. Your Uncle is strange!" " What?" Prita was so confused. " I think you are grown up now so I can tell you now. He never treated his daughter like human. He kept her like some property or investment. He wanted return & now Nina didn't give him return he expected. What about Nina? Is she fine?" Prita told all without hiding. "Keep watch on her. If you feel something is wrong we will take her to psychiatrist secretly. " Prita nodded. Then Prita went in Nina's room. Nina was crying. Prita asked " What happened?" Nina "I.. I can't stay in my body. I am going out. " " What?" " You were talking to me. But I can't answer I was out. I was somewhere else. I saw myself but I can't talk. I can't walk." Prita stood up to call Nina's Mom. But Nina stopped her. Nina " Don't tell my parents please.." she started to bow before Prita so Prita stopped. Prita " Let's do one thing. We should wait for a month by then my parents would come back. You can come to stay with us. Then we will go to Doctor." Nina nodded. She liked & trusted her Auntie. Nina took breath of relief. Nina felt that she could handle it. After that incidence for some time she didn't feel that way. Her Dad kept abusing but she was okay. Everything was fine. She took one course. She began to study. She was doing fine. She felt strange sometimes but nothing serious. She thought that she could handle it. Until that day she was so sure that she could handle.
Nina was so happy & confident. She took all exams of her course and it was last one. She saw her question paper. It was easy. She was so sure that she would get first class. She started writing. She began to write all. Then suddenly she sensed that she was no longer in her body. She was far away. She saw her body but she couldn't able to write anything. She tried so hard but she couldn't. She didn't. It kept happening for half hour. Then she came back. How hard she tried to complete it didn't work. She knew that she lost her wonderful marks & her first class. All was gone. She started crying. She wanted to kill herself. She didn't want to return home. She tried to jump before car. But car stopped on time. One Cop screamed on her. She sensed that if she got arrested it would be worst. She returned home. Luckily on that day Prita announced that her parents were coming. Nina told Prita all out of tears. Prita felt so angry. " Why did you act like that? We will at my house at time of your results. My parents will solve all." Then they told this idea to Nina's Mom who agreed immediately. Nina's Dad made face but he couldn't say no to Prita's Dad. Then they went there. Soon they took appointment of Doctor. Psychiatrist was recommended when they sensed that Nina was physically fit. Then they took it. Psychiatrist heard all & said " She is suffering from Depersonalization disorder. It happen in some cases. We don't know proper cause but stress trigger it." Nina " So it will keep happening to me forever?" Psychiatrist smiled kindly & said " Relax. When I will do treatment I will find what trigger it then I will teach you how to handle it. Then you will be fine." Nina nodded. Then Nina started visiting Psychiatrist. Finally one day Nina's results came out. Her Dad called her & started abusing. But this time she didn't let herself get bullied. She was out of her body for sometime but when she came inside she said " I tried hard. If you don't like it , fine ignore it. You can't change your daughter. It is your misfortune." She disconnected call. She went back after few days. Her Dad gave her angry look. But she returned it properly. Dad " You are useless!" " But that you are also not useful. Do you know Dinesh married to daughter of your chairman? He once use to study with you." She said it and went in her room. Her Dad kept standing there in shock.
