Adventure story. 435. Their son

Satish was so happy. Today his first child was going to enter in world. It was different excitement. Since marriage his life was changed. Sarika was his responsibility. He didn't understood it at first but after her first argument with his Mom. He sensed it. His Mom desired dowry from his wife. His wife was from middle class family. Her parents gave her few ornaments and gifts as per their desire. But his Mom kept demanding more and more. Even while fixing their marriage she demanded ornaments. When he tried to argue, she said that he needed different flat for it he needed money. He was so angry. Satish " Mom but asking ornaments like that is asking dowry." "Really!! Do you know this Sarika's parents were asking what at time of their son's marriage? Fixed salary for daughter-in-law ! So what is difference? Do you feel that they will not touch that salary? I am asking money in form of ornament just once. They will take it on every month and forced her work like labour in office." " Mom they are doing it for providing financial independence to their daughter-in-law. They are scared that how did those women manage if their husband died suddenly." " Really!! Then why don't you feel ornament will do that job better? I mean Gold is great investment!! In fact it's price increase lot on daily basis. If husband died, gold will surely become as useful as job. In fact you can get even loan on it. If I insist on job, she will need to do double duty daily. This way her parents pay once and it will be over. I don't want to take away her financial independence she can do job too." His Mom smiled. Satish was so upset. He wanted to explain that it was wrong but he couldn't. His Mom " In fact after marriage I promise you that I will not take away her ornaments. She can keep it in her bank locker which she will able to open only. So it will stay with her and salary of job? It vanish in daily uses. Few people are nice and they don't touch salary of daughter-in-law but number is very less." Satish felt so disgusted by this entire discussion that he just stopped it. Luckily Sarika's parents were willing to gift her ornaments so everything managed. But in his soul he felt scared. He sensed that his Mom was getting greedy day by day. He knew that when Sarika would enter her life would have lots of troubles due to his Mom. When Sarika came his Mom smiled and pretended that she was happy. But Satish could sense something from her smile was missing. He was feeling so hurt when he sensed that it was kindness. He wanted to feel that everything was normal but it was not. After his wedding every day his Mom started saying something against Sarika. He tried to convince his Mom that she must not behave like that it was wrong. But his Mom kept doing it. He knew that Sarika was getting upset. But Sarika never said anything. In fact since their marriage Sarika never chatted much with anyone. He tried to chat with her sometimes but she didn't keep that conversation alive. She just answered his question and then she stopped talking. He didn't understand what he supposed to do next so their conversation was stopped. He was so confused about her feelings. She never expressed her love towards him. But she never rejected him when he offered his love. She always agreed to his every step. She never shared anything of her own. He didn't understand why did she act like that as if she didn't have her own identity. She surely had it. He could see it in her eyes but she always kept quiet. He always needed to speak for both. It was worst for him. He wanted her to stand for herself. He began to feel that this was happening due to his Mom. But he knew that he didn't have much option. He needed to stay with his parents since he was not rich enough to buy one flat by his bank balance. He was hardly managing to make savings. And he knew second thing very well that his parents would not give any money for this flat. His parents didn't want him to live separately. But he knew that for happy married life he needed to live in separate flat. On that point Sarika became pregnant so they decided. Actually he decided since she never spoke. That they would concentrate on their child first. But he knew that it was wrong decision. He needed to keep his kids away otherwise they would get influenced by his Mom. But he sensed that he didn't have that much money. He knew that earning was not so easy but he was trying so hard and he was not receiving any money as he dreamt. He sensed that his hopes were wrong. He wanted to find way to buy house in which he could talk with Sarika freely. In this house he was feeling so locked. He started to enquire about housing loans. He knew that give interest would be big problem but it just needed it. He started to plan to take loan. He decided that he could make inquires and after entry of baby they would shift. He was so excited but his Mom started new drama again. His Mom insisted that she wanted grandson not granddaughter. Now this didn't shock him. His Mom was becoming selfish day by day. But he was shocked when his father supported her. At time of jewelry his father didn't stood against her but at least kept quiet. But when it came his child they started to say clearly they needed grandson. He felt so upset. He felt that Sarika would be upset too but she didn't say anything. He didn't understand Sarika at all. Sarika never spoke any word against or pro anyone. She didn't talk unless she needed to answer question. It was as if he was still living alone. Sometimes he felt that if he didn't see sarees or ornaments, he would have never sensed that he had one wife in his room. She was literally invisible from first day. Still his Mom managed to abuse her by one way or another. He never understood why did his Mom hated her so much. After all it was arranged marriage his Mom selected her for him. While his all friends opted for love marriage he decided to go for arranged marriage. He never encouraged any girl. Finally his Mom decided one. He was expecting that his Mom would be happy with girl of her choice. But sadly it didn't work. His life just became worst.

     After Sarika's pregnancy every one started insisting on boy. Sarika didn't say anything. His father also started to say " We need grandson. Granddaughter will be just burden. Sarika's parents didn't give us dowery but all people will not have kind heart like us. They will ask for money and Satish needed to pay it so I want grandson. If grandson is perfect, he will bring money in house instead of taking it away. We need grandson." It was so confusing. They needed to understand that they were talking about their grandchild. They needed to talk with affection. They needed to show pure love of grandparents. But instead of it they kept counting bank balance due to entry of that baby. It was so upsetting. He didn't understand how could anyone act like that. They were acting worst as grandparents. They didn't care for his child. They were just concerned about their bank balance. He knew that if he tried to say anything then they will say that it was for his own good while he knew very well that it would do no good to him. It would just harm his future. He needed separate house. He kept planning but Sarika never demanded anything. It was strange after comments which his parents cracked anyone should react. But Sarika didn't. He didn't understand what was wrong with her. Today he was waiting for his child. Nurse came out and told " Your wife gave birth to son." He smiled but he was not happy. He sensed that he was trapped now. His parents never leave him alone. They would spoil his son. He looked at that child. He suddenly began to feel scared. He started to feel that this child would become monster. His Mom took that baby in hand. He wanted to stop her from touching child. But he couldn't. He didn't have any cause to object it. He wanted a girl child since he knew that they would raise evil in his son. He was father but he would just needed to work day and night. He couldn't find time for his son. His wife Sarika never spoke a word so she didn't create much influence on child so his child would surely learn everything from his grandparents. He knew that his Dad was going to be retired soon so he would sit in house and teach wrong to his son too. He didn't like it at all. They were doing everything in wrong way. His Mom turned to him and said " What are you looking at? Take your son in arms." He started to shiver. He was so scared. He knew that he was creating evil monster. That innocent face began to look monstrous. He was so scared. He managed to took baby in hand but truthfully he just wanted to drop it on ground. It was so scary. He didn't want to hold that evil child. His Mom looked confused. Mom " What happened?" " He is so small!! I can't hold him." His Mom started laughing. She took away child and he took breath of relief. He didn't understand why but he didn't want to see his own son. He wanted to share his feelings but he couldn't. He didn't have anyone with whom he could share his thoughts. He felt so upset. He didn't understand why he was so upset with his son. Then soon he went to see Sarika. She was looking so tired and sick. He began to feel that his son managed to eat his mother even before his birth. He didn't want to think like that but those thoughts kept coming in his mind. He was so frustrated. He didn't understand how could he control his fears. He didn't sense how could he achieve happiness in his life. If he kept thinking negatively about his son, he surely didn't like the way he was thinking about his own child. It was so wrong. He didn't understand why did he needed to think like this about him. He supposed to love his son same way as he loved his wife. He kept getting upset. But he didn't like that child. He sensed evil inside that innocent face and he was sure that it was not his imagination. He was sure that something was truly wrong with his son. He sat near Sarika. He waited until she didn't open her eyes. He felt so scared. When she opened her eyes, he came near her. He asked " How are you?" She smiled. For first time she smiled towards him that way. She asked " Where is our baby?" He felt so angry and upset. Sarika never reacted that way towards him. This baby was even taking her away from him. He never saw Sarika smiling that way. He looked away to hide his frustration. She assumed that something was wrong. She began to scream with fear " Where is my baby?" She screamed so loudly that nurse came running inside. Nurse " What happened?" " Where is my baby?" " Baby is with his grandmother!! What happened? Why did you look so upset?" Sarika felt ashamed of herself. She sensed that she created drama without cause. Sarika " Sorry I thought something.. I am sorry." Nurse smiled. Nurse " Such anxiety is common in mothers after delivery." Then Nurse turned towards Satish. Nurse " What happened? What's wrong?!! You don't look happy. After all becoming father of child is wonderful feeling. And your parents are so happy that it is son they are distributing sweets everywhere." " But I wanted daughter." Nurse started laughing. Nurse " You can't get option in this case. You can get what nature decide for you. And son is not bad thing." "No he is worst!!" He said this slowly. That Nurse didn't able to hear it. He just smiled and nodded. He said " I was just  nervous after all Sarika was in so much pain." " I know. These things scared every one a lot. " He nodded. He sensed one thing by changing subject he managed to take Nurse on other track. She started to discuss about baby and what did Sarika supposed to do. He slowly went out of room. He didn't want to hear anything about that baby. He didn't understand why but he began to hate that baby from first sight. He didn't understand why did he needed to react like this. He was so hopeful that his married life would be normal. Now Sarika was acting normal but he was the one who was acting strange. He didn't understand why he needed to hate such a small baby. That baby was innocent. Baby never did any harm to him. He began to convince this to his soul.

       Sarika was so confused when Satish left room so suddenly. She expected that he would took interest in their child. Until now she always felt that she was strange one in their couple. She was like that from childhood. She never liked to chat with people that much. It was her big problem. Her parents tried many things to cure it. She went to numerous classes. They forced her to participate in many debates. But nothing seemed to work. She even went to psychiatrist but Doctor laughed and said " She is perfectly normal. She is just not talkative." But no one ever felt that she was normal. But she managed to settle in perfect way in Satish's house. Her mother-in-law was  so problematic but she didn't talk much so she didn't feel upset. She kept ignoring which was easy for her. But today she felt hurt. Satish never taunted her. He always threw affection on her. He made her life easy. She was happy. She thought that by giving birth to baby she would make him more happy and their life more perfect. She was so confused and upset. She didn't understand her mistake but she sensed one thing that Satish was not happy. She never saw him so upset. She kept talking with Nurse. She didn't say but anything but Nurse sensed something. Nurse " It's about your husband? Isn't it? He is upset now but he will be fine soon. He was just scared of this entire procedure. He didn't expected this to be so hard." She nodded. Then she began to wait for Satish. She waited and waited. Satish didn't come back. Finally she called him on his mobile. Satish was walking aimlessly around maternity home when Sarika called him. He saw her call. He sensed that she was waiting for him. He was having those strange feeling and he didn't want to share with her. It was horrible. He was hating his own new born and he didn't understand why. He tried to search for cause. But he didn't. He was so upset about entire procedure. He didn't understand what was wrong with him. He was perfect before birth of his son. His parents were so happy. They didn't care about his feelings at all. But he was glad and Sarika cared. She was calling him because she cared and he needed to pick up her call for same reason. He took her call. She asked " What's wrong? Why you are behaving this way? I thought you wanted child?!!" " Yes. I wanted child. But I don't want son. I am scared of that baby." " Scared of baby?" " He possessed something like Rosemary's baby. Remember that child of Satan." Sarika was now truly upset. Sarika" This is your child not child of someone else. Do you have doubt about me?" " No..no but what if Satan was inside me when.." " Enough. Are you out of your mind? Why you want to talk like this about our innocent son?" Sarika  started crying. It was shocking for Satish. By this time he began to think that she would never cry. Until now she didn't cry even in worst situation, she always kept looking same. But today something was changed. He knew very well. It was their son. He was evil. He didn't sense that he was about to say it before he said " You always kept strong like mountain until now. You never showed any emotion even for me. But now for this new born you manage to emotional immediately." Sarika was shocked. She sensed that something was wrong. She knew it from his attitude. Satish was not normal. He was acting strange. She never saw him like this before. She wanted to discuss it further but on that point her mother-in-law came with baby in room. She needed to disconnect mobile. Sarika " Your Mom is in room. I will talk later." Satish could hear noise of baby. He sensed immediately that it was for baby. Satish " Don't drag Mom. This is about that boy. I know you want to spend time with baby." He disconnected call. Sarika was shocked. She heard sibling rivilary between two children but never heard about this. Her husband was hating his own son. She looked at her mother-in-law with anger. She could see how did that lady was pampering child. Her mother-in-law kept saying "My grandson..my grandson." She was insisting on word "Son" strange way. She didn't like it. She began to sense that it was harming her married life too. It was so irritating. She could sense clearly that Satish was getting hurt due to these comments. But his parents didn't care. She wanted to object it but she knew that it was meaningless. She took baby in arms. She looked at her son for first time. He was so cute and so innocent. She didn't understand how could her husband see evil in him. She sensed one thing that something was wrong with her husband. Satish was truly having some mental trouble and she needed to convince him for treatment. But she knew that it was nearly impossible. She couldn't force him to do that. She decided that she must keep watch on him and wait for proper opportunity. But somewhere in her heart she felt that she might able to handle everything. She truly needed to find way but she felt that problem might vanish by time. She started playing with baby. Satish came back after sometime he saw Sarika was playing with baby. He decided to stay away. Then he suddenly found one excuse. He came in room with smile and said " Our son is so lucky. We got contract." On this point he needed to kiss baby with affection but he avoided it by pretending that he was searching on mobile. Sarika was so confused. She didn't say anything and baby started crying. He insisted that he must go to office. She nodded and he ran away. He was so happy when he finally managed to vanish out of picture. But Sarika was so confused. She wanted him to stay with them. But she didn't understand how did she supposed to convince. She knew that it would happen now every day but she didn't know how to stop this. She saw him running away from his own family. She wanted to stop him but he didn't. He was in such hurry. He just wanted to get away from them as soon as possible.

     Sarika was so upset. After coming back home from hospital she hardly managed to see Satish. He kept avoiding her and baby. She felt one thing that she needed Satish while growing up her son. His parents were creating problems for her. They kept admiring and spoiling him. At this point baby was small but she didn't like the way her mother-in-law screamed on her if she became little late to pick baby. She had her speed and life too. She was mother of child and she was taking best care of baby. She couldn't ignore her own child. But sometimes kid supposed to put down. She couldn't keep baby in arms whole time. It was neither good for baby nor for her. But her mother-in-law didn't understand it. Her mother-in-law was trying to treat her like some slave. She kept telling her " This is my grandson and he must be treated properly. You must handle it carefully." Sarika was so upset. She was trying to teach manners to her son one day. But her in-laws kept her harassing her like this how could she managed. She kept waiting for Satish. But he was never at home. She waited and waited. Finally limit was crossed when Satish didn't even appear on first birthday of their son. She called him. Sarika was so angry. She screamed on him "Are you coming home? Or I should left house without you?!!" Satish was so shocked. She never talked like that. But first time she started expressing anger like that. Satish " What happened?" "Your parents trying to spoil our child and you don't have time for us. Do you feel money is more important than us?" He didn't say anything. He never thought that way. He just didn't want to go near his son. He didn't understand why he felt so upset by just seeing him. He kept feeling that his son had something evil hidden inside himself. It was so frustrating. He kept consoling himself that it would go away. But it was not going away. He didn't want to see face of his son. But today he finally decided to show guts and tell it to his wife. Satish " I need to confess it isn't about money." She shivered. She imagined what was coming next. She thought that he had affair and he was planning to leave her but then he said " I don't like our son." She screamed on him " I don't understand why did you hate our son?!! He is small angle. One innocent child!!" " I don't know." She controlled herself. She sensed that her husband was having mental problem. She needed to support him in this situation. She took deep breath and said " Come home. Then we will talk." " Will you keep baby with Mom during that time?!!" " Stop this. Come home. That baby is our child you can't hide from him for entire life. Come home." He knew that she was right. He couldn't control himself and started crying. Sarika was so shocked. She never expected crying from him. She felt that he was always strong man but today he was so different. She said nicely "Come back. We will find way." He felt so nice after hearing this. He felt first time that he was not alone. He decided to go and tell her everything. " Okay I will come." He took taxi and came near home but he shivered when he reached there. He could hear sound of his son. He was so upset. He was about to turn back when Sarika opened door. Their son was in her hand. He wanted to stay away but that little boy jumped towards him without second thought. He caught him properly and his son started laughing. Sarika smiled and said " He love you and miss you." " But I never spend a day with him." " He have Mom could tell him stories of his Dad with picture."Satish laughed but he was still scared to hold that child. He gave it back to Sarika and went inside. Then Sarika sat with him. Their son began to play with toys. Sarika " Can I suggest you something?!!" "Sure!!" " I feel you need psychiatrist. Some fear is stuck inside you." He felt so upset. But he knew that it was true. Still he screamed on her " Do you want to send me to mental institute and grab everything?" Sarika was upset but she was not shocked. Sarika " I went there once." "Really.. so you are unsound." " No just less talkative. But all assumed it as sign of madness. So I went to Psychiatrist. He was nice fellow. He chatted with me for sometime and told me I am fine. Same might happen with you too." He smiled. He looked relieved. He wanted to go and prove that he was fine. He took number from her and managed to get appointment of next day. He looked at his son. He was so irritated. He didn't understand why did he got married. He was better off without marriage. He sat on chair for sometime. He tried to control himself and said " I don't want to take him with us." Sarika was shocked. " You can't keep such small baby alone in house!!" " My parents will take care of him." " I don't feel that much confidence in them. They just keeping boosting but when actually they need to do things I doubt if they could do." He felt so confused. Then he nodded. He knew that if they kept baby with them. He could explain psychiatrist in better way. But he was sure that nothing was wrong with his son. Still he sometimes felt that he might prove that his son was devil. He suddenly felt that it worth trying. He needed to take at least cause of this drama to psychiatrist to explain him. So he agreed. " You are right. Let's take baby with us." She smiled happily. Baby was smiling too. Once again baby came running towards Satish. He tried to go out of his reach but baby didn't feel it was rejection baby felt that it was just a game so baby kept running after him and finally baby fall asleep. Sarika smiled whole time but she was scared in heart. She knew one thing that something was totally wrong with her husband. She just hoped that Satish's problem would prove small. But she was so tense.

    Next day Satish came on suitable time for appointment. Sarika was ready with her son. They decided to go to garden against his parent's wishes. Then they spent sometime there and finally went in Doctor's clinic. They waited in line. Finally their number came. First Satish discussed many things then finally he came to his problem. Psychiatrist " Tell me truthfully. Why did you hate boys?" Satish said " Nothing special." " Tell me truth. Otherwise your problem will increase." Then Satish took deep breath and said " My Mom was once pregnant after me. I was so excited. Everything was fine. But one day one Doctor came. He took them to hospital. They checked sex of baby illegally. Then next day they killed baby. They killed my sister." He started crying. Sarika was so shocked. Sarika " I don't want to stay with them." Psychiatrist " Calm down..calm down.." Satish " I don't want son. I want that baby girl back again." Psychiatrist " Whoever gone out of world can't come back. But do we die for them? And your innocent son is not responsible for it. You need to earn more and stay in separate house to give him healthy environment." Satish nodded. Psychiatrist " You are suffering from posttraumatic symptoms. It happened in such strange way since you stored your pain for long time. But don't worry. You will be fine after some appointments. But just do one thing. Quickly rent a house and shift." Satish nodded. On same day Satish took housing loan with help of his Boss and got another flat. He knew that after this his parents would never see his face since he took away their grandson. His many relatives would call him cruel but he didn't care. He just wanted to become normal once again so he shifted in new house where his wife could teach their son right values and morals of life.
