Fear of her boss
Tanya was working so hard to get things as per her choice. She began to get restless step by step. She was feeling strange sort of suffocation. She didn’t understand why this was happening. She was doing cleaning & other household chores in this house for years. In fact, her mother used to work before but now she was working here. She kept entire household properly. But she kept feeling as if someone was observing her. She kept looking behind. She didn’t find anyone. Then suddenly out of nowhere son of her employer Tarun came before her. Tarun “What did you get by working so hard for hours?” She felt so confused. Her salary was nice. She was happy in this house. She slowly said “I get my salary.” Tarun laughed in odd way. “Come on you know very well. My parents are not paying you much.” She felt so nervous. She slowly said “I am happy with my salary.” “My God! How innocent you are?” “I don’t understand what did you mean.” “My parents are not paying you properly still you are saying you are happy with that salary. Why?” Tanya felt so frustrated. She just avoided Tarun & kept working. He seemed to go bored by conversation since he went away. She took breath of relief. That boy was acting so creepy day by day. Tarun was no longer little boy. He was young man. Her mom always considered Tarun as child but for Tanya he was young man. She didn’t like his behaviour. She felt that he was getting extra friendly with her. It was so upsetting. She began to work as fast as possible. Finally, it was over. She immediately ran to her employer to tell that she was going away. As always, she got permission. She felt so nice. She needed to escape from that house. She went to work in next house. She immediately felt one relief. She didn’t say anything to this employer but she sensed one thing that she didn’t like atmosphere of Tarun’s house. She finished cleaning of two houses & she started to get ready to return home. Suddenly on road she once again met Tarun. He was so irritating. She even started to feel scared of him. Tarun came towards her & once again he began to lecture her. “When will you learn to increase your salary? You need to demand it otherwise you will not get it. You are such stupid girl. I am family member of that house still I am telling you that you need to demand increase!” Tanya didn’t understand that why did Tarun was irritating her like that. She knew that her salary was okay. She demanded suitable increase. She said slowly “I know what salary other maids get I asked accordingly.” She felt so upset. When she returned home, she waited until her husband didn’t come. When her husband came, she immediately complaint to him about entire incidence. Her husband Shyamu listened her & said “I feel he is after you.” “For what purpose?” “Come on! He wants you.” Tanya laughed. “That’s not possible. Look towards me. Why young man like Tarun will take interest in me?” “You can’t predict those things. Just stay away from Tarun or quit job.” Tanya was shocked by this suggestion. She was working for long time there. She was not planning to quit job without cause. She said “Stop acting paranoid. I will manage it.” “Wow you are getting smart day by day but remember one thing. One day you regret that you didn’t took my suggestion.” Tanya just made angry face & decided to ignore Shyamu’s suggestion. She needed that job.
Tarun began to get so angry. Tanya was just maid but she was not listening to him. He was so superior but still she decided to ignore him. He didn’t understand that how could she dare to do it. He was superior in every way. He was handsome & rich. For generations her family worked as maid for his family. Actually, it was just her mom who worked as maid but in Tarun’s mind Tanya was his slave. He was ordering her to demand increase in her salary then she must do it. But she didn’t so he was planning to answer her. He needed to replace her. He slowly went in kitchen to his mom. “Mom Tanya is no longer working the way she once used to.” His mom turned & looked towards him. Mom “What happened?” He pointed towards dirt “Look this is so dirty & she comes so late.” “But you are always there to open door…” “No mom I need to go out today.” His mom looked confused. His Mom loved going out with her friends in evening. He knew that his mom would be unhappy to skip it. Tarun wanted to create issue for Tanya. He wanted to prove her useless & irritating. Mom “Fine I will call her earlier.” His Mom returned to her work. He never understood that how did his mom had work when they had maids but his mom was always busy. They always needed something to eat. He knew that his father always wanted to call his friends. His Mom needed to cook food for them. He never understood why did his father needed to invite them in home. But he never cared. He always stayed in his room. He needed to find some work. He knew that he needed to find job. He was searching for it. But then he started his business. It was successful until now. He was happy. He knew that he was using all connections of his parents but he knew that he made profits since he was wise. He knew that entire credit goes to him. But he needed to appreciate his dad for it since his dad always managed to put him in highest priority. His father never stood against him. He remembered many times on many occasions he made mistakes but his father always managed to handle them. He looked his mom’s hand. His mom was once again cooking something delicious. He deserved to be treated like someone important. His mom never understood it. But his mom always did whatever his dad said so his mom always managed to cook tasty items. He went ahead & began to take bite of it. He knew that his mom hated it. But he knew that his mom couldn’t object. After all his mom was just housewife who did limited cooking & run house with help of servants. She was nothing. His mom never liked when he tasted something in middle of cooking but he always did it. He wanted to show his mom that he was more powerful & dominating than him. He intentionally liked to disobey her. His mom looked angrily towards him. But he enjoyed it. He felt positive about it. His mom said “I feel Tanya is nice maid. I will call her early & she will come when I will at home.”
Next morning Tanya received call from
Tarun’s mom that she needed to come early. Tanya was not happy about it since
she needed to do some changes in her schedule. She needed to drop her children
to school. But Shyamu was very happy. Shyamu “I don’t want you to work when
just Tarun is in home. You need to have more people. It’s better if his mom is
present.” She gave him frustrated look & nodded. Then she went in her
neighborhood requested one lady in neighborhood to drop her children. That lady
always used to go to drop her kid too. But clearly that lady was not happy to
do this extra task. But when she explained entire situation that lady agreed.
But that lady said same thing. “Just be careful from that Tarun. You must start
to calling him Sir. It’s better to give respect & stay away.” Tanya nodded.
That day when she came near Tarun’s house, she met Tarun at doorstep. She
looked towards Tarun nervously. She said “Good morning, Tarun Sir.” Tarun felt
so happy. She added Sir in conversation so she began to show extra respect. He
felt that she was not acting as per his wishes since she was scared. He smiled
since he understood that she was not just scared of him she was scared of his
mom too. She was not demanding more salary since she was scared. She had so
lower status that she was scared of every one in house. He said slowly “It’s
alright. I am starting my new project so I can’t stay in home so you must come
early. You need to handle according to our schedule. You must not expect us to
handle by your schedule.” She felt so upset. She knew that she supposed to
handle as per convenience of her employer. She didn’t say anything. She just
went inside. She felt nervous. She knew that something was wrong with that
Tarun. She started to get so upset. She didn’t understand that why did she felt
so stressed. She told herself that everything was fine. She went inside. Tarun’s
mom came towards her & asked “Did Tarun said anything to you?” “No Madam.”
His mom looked nervous. His Mom “I don’t know why but he is giving angry look
to me. Just tell me did he told you something?” Tanya saw fear in eyes of her
employer. Tanya slowly said “He wanted me to increase his salary.” “Oh! Then I
will do that. How much?” Tanya didn’t like this. Tanya said slowly “I tell you
frankly I didn’t ask increase since my husband want me to stop my job from next
month.” Her employer looked shocked. “Why?” Tanya was not going to tell truth
that they were scared of Tarun. Tanya already prepared for excuse. “Actually,
my kids didn’t manage to get good marks so I need to stay at home & pay
full attention to their education.” Tarun’s mom looked sad. Tarun’s mom said “But
you are such good help!” But Tanya didn’t want to take risk. Tanya felt so
nervous. Tanya said slowly “Sorry Madam.” Tarun’s mom nodded. Tanya literally
ran out of that house. Tanya didn’t understand reason behind her fear. But she
felt so scared. She wanted to feel positive. Her mind was feeling so nervous.
She immediately ran towards her home. She knew that she needed jobs. But she
decided to quit them. She couldn’t quit all jobs. She saw her employer from
next house was calling her. Tanya turned back & went back to her next work.
She went to houses where she normally cleaned then she returned home. She told
Shyamu all. Slowly Shyamu told “You can’t quit all jobs but it’s difficult to avoid
that, Tarun. Still, you can do it if you decide. You know all his habits.” She
nodded. After that every day she was very careful. She was walking on road when
one day suddenly Tarun came before her. She felt so nervous. Tarun “Why did you
quit job?” “Actually, I quit all jobs for sometime for kids. Now I started
again but I can’t come early…” Tarun gave her angry look & said “My mom did
this. Right?” “No Sir. I needed to quit since I can’t adjust time.” Tarun began
to abuse her. She was so shocked. She literally ran away. After that she began
to walk more carefully. She was going ahead in her life until one day one maid
called her. That maid asked “Where you working in that Tarun’s house?” She felt
that they were searching for next maid. She was confused. She didn’t want to
talk negative but she couldn’t keep talking positive. She said slowly “I used
to work but then I stopped.” “Do you know their son was arrested for argument
on street? He is mad person. All said.” Tanya didn’t say anything. Then Tanya
said slowly “He is mad person but who will take him to psychiatrist. His father
pampered him. I just kept away from him. I tell all to do so.” Then after some
moments Tanya said “What if he kills or hurts me since I don’t demand increase
in salary?” That maid kept looking towards Tanya in shock & Tanya just went
ahead in hurry. Tanya wanted to reach home as soon as possible. Whenever she
walked on those streets, she felt scared since she might meet Tarun on street.
