Adventure story. 431. Visit of guests

                                            Visit of guests
Sapana was busy in her work when her phone rang. She didn't want to stop her work so she just kept that phone ringing. She began to hate mobile and other phones now a days. She needed to work hard to get things right in her profession. She didn't want to be disturbed. She was so irritated when someone called her and started discussing personal things. She didn't want to discuss about her family. She always tried her best to keep them out of her mind. Her family never able to understood her. They always kept pressuring her for one thing or another. She always felt like bird whose wings were tied. She didn't like those memories. She liked those hopeful days when she was free as per her wish. She wanted to be happy. She was free now. She didn't feel restrictions on heart. Her parents were always so restrictive towards her. She knew that they were no more but still other relatives kept irritating her. She made it clear to them many times that she preferred to be alone. But they changed it to lonely and start irritating her. She didn't want to take call. But soon her maid started to look at her with suspicion. She knew that she regarded by all that she would be so odd. She felt so upset. Her life was not moving in straight line. She was getting so stressed. She wanted to live happily. She sensed that for looking normal. She must pick up that mobile and began to talk with that person. She took it. It turned out to be her Uncle. She knew that this house was inherited property so her Uncle had full right to visit sometimes. But she was so scared of his visits. He always kept taunting her. But she couldn't say no to him. Uncle " So where are you? Of course in home you never go anywhere else. What is wrong with you? My daughter who is younger than you already gone to US. She planning to finish her education there and of course she will marry there. What is your plan regarding marriage?" Sapana didn't want to marry. She was not against marriage but she didn't find man who suited her and somewhere in her soul she didn't hope he exists. She lost that hope long ago. She needed someone who could understand her. She needed person who had big heart and feeling which help her to heal. But most of men she met demanded from her. None of them was willing to share and understand her pain. Few pretended they cared but just for few moments. She never dated since in first meeting she sensed that they were not suitable for her. She didn't understand what was her trouble. Sometimes she felt that after staying so many days in restricted atmosphere she was finally take breath of relief and she wanted to enjoy it. She didn't want to be caged again. But her Uncle's view it was all race. He felt every girl must find someone as soon as possible or became rich. She knew that she wanted peaceful life. She was living properly on her investment. But he kept telling her that it was not enough. She didn't answer him. But he continued " Why don't you do something to earn money and find some suitable boy?!! Come on!! No one will marry you if you don't earn." " I am not interested in getting married." "What? You are planning to stay alone like that." " Yes I am." She said with full confidence. After seeing her Uncle her desire to marriage was reducing daily. She was confident that she didn't want to marry. Uncle didn't speak for sometime then he said in calm voice which had that touch that it could cut human heart. " You are not wise enough to sense what you are planning!! Your IQ is not enough to decide your future. If your parents were alive you should be mother of at least two kids by now." She was upset by all this nonsense. She was so stressed. She was praying to God that Uncle would not suggest coming there to stay with her. She needed to work and she didn't want such people to interrupt her work. She was so upset. She wanted to work hard and achieve something but her Uncle kept discouraging her. She said peacefully " I am happy with my present Uncle. I don't want anything." " You don't want anything? Stop this rubbish. What did you have in that old house?!! You spent your entire day on typing something which I feel can't give you much money. You are not even interested in marriage." She wanted to scream on him and ask " So what? This is my life." But she knew that if she did it then he would tell everyone that she was having mental trouble which would be worst for them. She took deep breath and tried to relax herself. She tried to talk sweetly. " Uncle nothing is wrong with my life. I am happy and everything is just fine." Then came worst part. Uncle " I am coming to stay with you for few days with your Auntie.." she suddenly began to feel so strange. She didn't like them at all. In fact she didn't like any guest that much but they were worst. They kept boosting themselves. They were so irritating. She suddenly began to feel only if she was dead. She wished from heart that her life should be gifted to her parents who had so much desire for life and money. Her Dad spent his entire life in planning some scheme which would increase his money. Her Mom always supported him on each day. They both were busy in earning money. They said that it was for her. But as soon as she grew up they started demanding earning from her too. So she sensed that it was just for their greed. They never earned for her. But she didn't dare to call it greed since she didn't have earning so she was most useless creature of world. She couldn't taunt anyone. She needed to learn to tolerate everything. She needed to learn to adjust in different ways. She did all. Now she wanted to scream or kill herself but she was not going to do anything. She was going to play role of nice guest for her two worst hosts. She was going to learn how to handle them. She needed to give respect to those guests. So she welcomed that suggestion. " Great Uncle you are always welcome." " Good. I wanted to come for one marriage. I will stay for few days then I will come back. So I will book tickets.." then he gave details and she kept nodding. Her entire life was just trapped. She didn't understand why.
Sapana hated making those arrangements for her unwanted guests. They were not just guests but enemies of her life. Everytime after their visit she sensed a desire to kill herself. She was so upset. She didn't understand what she supposed to do first. She looked around and decided that she might start from cleaning her house. She looked at maid. Her maid was doing her daily job. But still Sapana didn't feel that her maid was so good at her work that she should give her extra work. She felt that she needed to do it herself. She began to plan. She started to decide from which point she could start cleaning. Soon she sensed that it was not going to be easy. She began to feel so upset. But then she told herself that she could do it. She took out her broom and started cleaning. She began to rub every corner of house. She sensed that she was getting breathless. She felt exercise would help her health. She began to encourage her soul for exercising. She wanted to be fit. She kept trying hard to keep herself fit. It was wonderful thought. She always wanted to remain slim but she never managed. She felt that this would surely help. She began to clean. It was so nice. But on that point she suddenly began to feel strange sort of sorrow. She started to sense that she was nothing but maid who didn't even get paid. She wanted to cry. She was so upset. Her Uncle might shift in house with her. She heard that they were having argument with their son. Their son wanted to live separately. She was so scared. She didn't want to get responsibility of her Uncle. But she couldn't deny him. This house belonged to her grandparents. Uncle always remained part of it but still everyone hoped that house would go to her father since her family stayed here and did everything. But she was not so sure. It was past and now world was changing. Her Uncle might demand this house. She was shivering even at this thought. This old house was her only shelter. Her parents earned so much money but they never showed her way to handle world. She always stayed in this house. She knew that she could buy new house but she was still not that confident about entire issue. She was very upset about it. She didn't understand what she could do if her Uncle began to demand sale of this house. She clearly didn't like that idea. She was feeling so upset at thought of this idea. She wanted to stay here for entire life but it was not happening. She was feeling so hurt from inside. She knew that her Uncle didn't ask about it. But she felt one day he would. He was not going to gift that entire house to her. She knew that it was impossible dream for her. If not her Uncle then his children would surely demand this house one day. She was so scared. She was standing on ladder and cleaning this house but she was not certain if it belonged to her. She suddenly began to feel that she shouldn't let anyone stay there. If her Uncle came, he might just settle there. She started thinking ways to handle it. She suddenly found one idea. What if she fall from ladder and broke her bone. She looked down. It was scary. But when she thought about her Uncle's visit, she felt it was more scary. She began to think again and again. On one point she felt so scared. She began to think that she might die after this. But then her heart became confident. She didn't die. She would just broke her arm. She looked at ground. She felt that it was too high. One part of her mind was objecting it and another was encouraging her. She was so hurt. She didn't understand what was strength of mind and what was weakness. But she just wanted to avoid them so much that she just let go her grip on ladder. She began to fall down. She didn't feel scared. She just wanted to avoid her guests. But when she touched ground her pain was horrible she started screaming loudly. She was feeling so much pain. She wanted to ask for help. But she couldn't. She didn't able to say a word. But her screams soon reached to neighbour's ears. Everyone started knocking on door. But they couldn't open it. She kept hearing their voice and screaming loudly in pain she wanted to open door. She tried to sit down. But she couldn't. She kept screaming. But still she didn't regret her action. Somewhere in her heart even during those pains she kept saying ' Now those guests are not coming.' She was so happy about it. She didn't able to open that door she didn't able to get those people inside to help her or reduce her pain but she was happy just about one thing that those guests were not coming. She kept screaming. Finally watchman brought someone to open door. They opened door and she was taken to hospital. She had fracture. Then she happily called her Uncle. Her Uncle " My God!! I think you need help now. But old people like us will not of much help!! Do you feel they might help us?" " No..no it is not possible. I will manage. I will keep someone to help." Her Uncle suddenly seemed to lost interest in her. She knew that now he needed someone who could keep him in house. They would never skip marriage. They would just find new house to stay inside. She never understood why did they feel so obsessed with going in public function but she never dared to question them. She just went ahead with her life. She was feeling so much pain in her leg. Luckily her hand was not fractured. She knew falling from ladder with intention was not wise decision. But she did it and still she was not regretting it. She didn't want to attend those guests at any cost. Then her journey of fracture recovery started. It was going to painful. Everyone told her. Her every visitor seemed to know someone who had fracture or once had fracture so it seemed as if fracture was common thing. She began to search for angency who provide her nice maid after all hospital was soon going to discharge her. Doctor gave her number. She called them. They talked nicely and told her that they would sent nurse soon. She agreed. But she was so scared. Now new nurse was going to come in house. She hoped that she would be nice.
Priya was doing job as nurse from few months. But she didn't work in any house until now she worked in hospital. Her life was always full of hard work after her husband's death. He was nice man but he died due to sickness. Then she took course of nursing to provide education and food to her only daughter. Her work in hospital was not providing enough money. She had in-laws in house to take care of daughter so she suggested them about this job. Priya " In this job I will get big salary but needed to stay in that house also in night." Her in-laws looked upset. Her mother-in-law " I don't like this idea. It seem so risky. You will stay in unknown house!! What will you do if man from that house does something to you?" " Don't worry Mom. I will choose patients carefully." Her father-in-law " I don't like this. You can't tell who might enter in that house." " Don't worry Dad I will be careful." " Still I don't like it." For few days she didn't took but then soon her financial crisis entered again. Then her in-laws didn't have much option so she took this job. She carefully observed door. She could see name of woman. It seemed that just one woman living here who was her patient. She was happy to see that her patient was owner of this house so no one would boss her patient. And chances of dominating men were also reduced. She rang door bell. No one opened. She ran it again. Then noise of wheelchair came from other side. So her patient didn't have any one to take care of herself. Priya was shocked. Normally some relative would stay until entry of nurse. But then she felt that it was not her business. Then one voice asked from inside " Who are you?" " I am nurse from agency." " Then send your I-card inside by emplty place below door." Priya looked down. Then she searched for I-card and did as per instruction. Then one key came from same gap. Voice from inside " Open door with it. I can't stand to open it." Priya immediately understood trouble. She did it. She saw nice young woman was sitting on wheel chair. She gave pleasant smile and said " I am Sapana. What is your name?" " Priya." " Ohh Priya!! Come inside. I will give you tour of house." Priya nodded and started coming after Sapana unknowning she slowly took hold of Sapana's wheel chair from behind. Priya didn't sense when she became engaged once again in her role of nurse. She noticed that Sapana was nice woman. She didn't understand why did no one came to help her. It was strange. Sapana showed her entire house. Finally Sapana asked " What will you do for me?" Priya said nicely " All. I am not person who keep telling patients I will not do this and that. I will do all. But I don't want you to invite any male member stay here during my visit." Sapana smiled and said " I don't want guests that why I did it.." she stopped in middle of her sentence. She sensed that Priya was looking shocked. Sapana corrected herself " I mean I was cleaning house for my Uncle's visit when I fell from ladder by mistake." She said word mistake by insisting on it. She felt so upset. Priya noticed it but she decided to ignore. Priya didn't want to come on any conclusions so early she wanted observe and study her patient more. But in her heart Priya was more concerned. If this woman jumped from ladder with intention then she had serious problem. Priya kept feeling that something was wrong with Sapana. She decided that while chatting she could sense it better. Then slowly Priya managed to settle in that house. Sapana liked her new employee. Priya was nice and she always talked sweetly with Sapana. Sapana was so happy that her relatives didn't came. Sapana was so scared that those relatives might posion Priya's mind against her. But she knew that soon they might start coming. Then she thought that they wouldn't come since they had busy schedule. It was frustrating. Sapana tried her best to avoid talking about family with Priya. But it couldn't be avoided completely. One day Priya started talking about her family. " My husband is dead. He was nice man. But not rich. So I needed to earn for our daughter. My in-laws are nice too. Truthfully they tried their best to act nice." Sapana gave her confused look. Sapana didn't understood her meaning. Then Priya explained " They kept blaming me for my husband's death. I mean their son got sick until I don't enter in house etc." Sapana was shocked to hear this. " My God!! People think like this in this century." Priya gave hysteric laugh and said " This is nothing. My husband's one cousin felt that I am nurse so I used some medicine to make my husband sick for his property. But she stopped spreading rumours when she knew that property was in name of my in-laws who are alive and healthy. They all pretended and still pretending that everything is fine between us but nothing is fine. I can sense it every day and it always hurt me." Priya told this to her with hope that Sapana would tell her story with truthfulness in return too. She kept waiting but Sapana just changed subject. Sapana " Life is so hard now look at me. I am still in so much pain. I was planning so many things." Priya thought that she would discuss family now so she asked excitedly " Like?" " I was working on something big."Then Sapana started discussing about her work which was so boring to Priya that she didn't want to discuss it. She was so upset. She didn't understand anything. She just kept nodding to Sapana's every word. Finally when that discussion was over Priya took breath of relief. Priya understood one thing that she must not discuss family since Sapana was not going to talk about it. After that Priya didn't discuss her family until her Uncle and Auntie didn't come home. It was worst day for Sapana. Sapana wanted to avoid their visit but it was impossible since they never stopped by anything when they wanted to do it.
Priya was cooking in kitchen when doorbell rang . She ran to open door. She saw old couple. She immediately understood that those were Uncle and Auntie of Sapana. Sapana mentioned them but she was clearly not happy about it. Priya didn't understood cause but she sensed one thing that something was totally wrong with those people. But Priya knew that she supposed to welcome them. She welcomed them with smile. Priya " Please come in. I will go and inform Madam." Uncle " Great." Then they sat in hall. Priya was watching them carefully. She didn't understand why but she felt strange dislike towards them. They didn't seem to share any positive opinion about Sapana. As soon as Sapana entered, they started talking. Uncle " What have you done? You are always so careless. I don't understand how could you act like that? I mean climbing on ladder? This is too much. You know very well that ladder is not something for person like you who don't go even for outdoor vacation. Now look at yourself. After this you will be locked forever in house." Her Auntie added " I wish only if you have managed to get suitable boy. Husband is so important." Suddenly Priya spoke without second thought. Priya " Yes. He should have used ladder in better way because he is man!!" Priya said it with anger. She wanted to present it negatively but Auntie welcomed that thought positively. Auntie " True man is needed for everything." Sapana looked at Priya with shock. Priya felt so hurt. Priya " Madam but I do everything in my house and my husband touched nothing. Your husband do cleaning?" Auntie "No..no I don't give such a low status work to him. I keep maid or do it myself." " Then Sapana Madam supposed to do it even after marriage didn't she?" Uncle started to get red with anger. Uncle " You are just maid stay in limit." Priya " I know but Sapana Madam need me more than anyone at this moment so she couldn't fire me.." Sapana wanted to laugh but she just made sad face. Sapana wanted to answer this way to them for such long time but she never found proper answer until now. Priya found them for her. She felt so happy that Priya was her nurse. She needed help of someone. She felt that Priya was God's gift. After this argument Uncle and Auntie left house soon. When they went away, Sapana told entire truth of accident to Priya. Priya " But you could have given same answers like me to them." " But this house belong to them too." "Then they could stay in house but it doesn't give them right to insult you everyday." Sapana nodded. After that one by one relatives came Priya treated everyone nicely. All relatives said that lack of servant was biggest issue. But mostly said Priya should not try this again. Few gave her some numbers for agency who provide maid. Sapana kept nodding. But no one insulted her like her Uncle but she was so scared. Finally she started to get acidic symptoms. She started to take medicine. Priya noticed it. Priya didn't say anything for few days. Then one day she sat beside Spaana. Now Sapana already started to walking little bit with stick. Priya knew that soon she supposed to left this job. Sapana couldn't pay her big salary forever. And Priya's daughter already started complaining. Her daughter made it clear to her that she didn't want her Mom to go out of house like that she would do budgeting. And within month that little girl truly managed to save lot of money. So Priya decided that she might do night duty in hospital but not take this time of job where she couldn't see her daughter's face. But before going she wanted to suggest  Sapana something important. Priya knew that this might damage their nice relationship but she didn't have much option. Priya " I will leave this job soon since in few days you will manage to walk by yourself." Sapana felt so sad. Sapana wanted to keep Priya forever with her but she knew that it was not possible. She couldn't keep Nurse permanently unless she had permanent sickness. Sapana sensed that her thought were going in wrong way again. She must not start thinking that way. Then suddenly Priya spoke " I think you jumped from ladder for purpose. Since you want your Uncle out of house. You were so scared that you were ready to kill yourself. And I feel this is not normal." " So you feel I am mad like them!!" Sapana felt so sad. She was thinking that she found some one who didn't consider her less finally. But it didn't happen. Priya sensed her pain so Priya decided to be truthful. " Actually I am not normal too. If you feel that visiting psychiatrist isn't normal. I took treatment then only I survived after my husband's death. They all blamed me as if it was possible for me to keep him alive. I am just Nurse not Doctor. Still I went to best Doctors but nothing worked. They all said it was just wastage of time. He was suffering due to side-effects of medicines. They all suggested that we must stop so I stopped. But everyone felt I am doing it since I want to stop his responsibility. He was burden to me.." Priya stopped for few moments to control her emotions. Sapana felt sad for her. Sapana began to sense that she was not taunting. She was telling who helped her in sufferings. Sapana " But truthfully managing everything must be hard for you still you did it." Priya " Yes and psychiatrist taught me how to tell it to other people. Now I can cope up with them all." Sapana asked for psychiatrist's number. She saved that number in mobile. Sapana decided that she must keep it in phone and use it when it would be needed. Then Priya changed subject. They started discussing other matters and it was forgotten. But somewhere in heart Priya hoped that Sapana would visit psychiatrist.
After sometime Priya left her job. Sapana started her normal life but she kept sensing that it was not normal. She knew that even now she could kill herself if her relatives decided to meet her and it was not normal. She finally took out her mobile one day and dialed number given by Priya. She took appointment of psychiatrist. It scared her. But then she decided that she must do it. She went in clinic. She kept hiding her face. Then finally her number came she went inside. That psychiatrist was friendly and nice. Soon she sensed that it was totally normal. He explained to her that she was suffering from Avoidant personality disorder. It happened when person was criticised too much by parents. She felt that everyone would hate her when actually no one was hating her. She nodded. She knew that many relatives treated her with full respect. She felt so glad that she came there. She paid fees and asked for next appointment. Now she was sure that she could reduce her fear. She wanted to do it. She told everything truthfully to psychiatrist and she began to feel better day by day. Finally one day she even invited her Uncle , Auntie and even joked on their ignorance. Her fear was vanished.
