Ramesh's wife
Ramesh was so excited to get good opportunities in life. He was waiting for such long time & finally he got it. He just received one call for interview. He was little bit scared. He wanted to feel positive. He decided to play some music. Normally music didn’t help him but on this point he needed help. He was planning to get it at any cost. It was so stressful. He was so frustrated. His job was hard work & less pay. His wife kids were not even staying with him since his wife needed to shift in other part for her job. He didn’t like this idea but he didn’t have much option. With this job he had enough money to tell his wife to quit job. He smiled happily. Finally his life was on track. His daughter Pari could stay with him. It was never about his wife Kavita. It was always about his daughter Pari. She was most precious thing in world. Kavita always kept Pari with her. Ramesh kept feeling that she was taking his daughter away from him. Ramesh called Kavita “ How are you?” Kavita talked sweetly “ I am fine. Actually I was planning to go in mall & watch movie this Sunday is it okay if I stay here?” “ & what about Pari?” “ Ohh you can’t take care of her alone can you?” This was frustrating. He wanted to say yes but he couldn’t. He just wished only if his Mom was alive but sadly his Mom died when he was in college. His Dad was staying in village on his own. His Dad didn’t like Kavita that much. When he first introduced her his Dad immediately showed dislike but then his Dad said “ I can’t force you to reject her. If you like her then you can get married.” He was in love with her on that point so he decided to get married. But she was not interested in staying with him. He was not rich enough in her eyes. She wanted to enjoy luxuries of her parent’s house. Sometimes he felt that if he had money all could be solved. Then he added “ I forgot to tell you. I got job interview.” “ Really! Which company?” He gave name & she was shocked. Then he sensed that he was late. He immediately told her & went away. He went in office with hope. But in his heart he was so scared. There was long line. He was shocked after watching it. His hopes were clearly shattered. He felt so tense. He wanted this job. He controlled himself & kept watching with confidence. He knew that he needed to do it at any cost. He smiled nicely when his name called by Secretary to go inside. He thanked her properly & went inside. Even when he went inside, he answered all peacefully without excitement. He smiled & showed seriousness according to situation. He did all in such a way that he was sure that he would impress them. He went out with same confidence. Few people in line talked to him. One said “ I think it’s fixed. We don’t have chance.” He felt nervous but he didn’t show it. Instead he just smiled & said “ I felt these people are honest & genuine. I don’t know if they will select me. But I like them.” Then other man in line started laughing. “ You are so stupid. This is nothing but game of influence. I arranged all. But I still can’t guarantee my victory.” Ramesh felt upset & scared but he decided to ignore it. Ramesh went out with confidence & went to his regular job. In his heart he felt that man might be right. He didn’t get job but he was not planning to express it. He wanted to look okay. He went on regular job. At night Kavita asked. He told her that he didn’t have much hope. She was so upset. Kavita “ How could you say like that? Think about Pari. Her future! You need to earn!” He wanted to meet his daughter but it was not easily possible. Still Kavita kept using her name time to time. He was so upset now. He didn’t want to even see Pari. He knew that Pari was no longer attached to him. Once Pari used to come on mobile. Pari kept telling him that she missed him. Pari even cried while saying she wanted to stay with him. But now Pari didn’t even come on mobile. Sometimes he felt that Pari had already forgotten his face. It was so sad. She supposed to like her father. But he knew that it was too late for it. So he just said “ Don’t worry I have present job.” “ It’s useless! You need to earn more.” He was so frustrated. “ At time of marriage I had this job only & you agreed while knowing it.” “ It was my big mistake. I thought you will have some ambitions but sadly you don’t.” He felt so sad. She kept telling him that her marriage was mistake. Sometimes he wished that they could just end it but he knew that it was not possible. He had one daughter. He finally said “ Bye.” & disconnected call. Then he just switched off his mobile. It was so frustrating. He was facing same sorrows for many nights. First she fall in love with him then she started to give excuses after marriage . It was so sad. He looked towards wall clock. He sensed that it was time to sleep. He nodded to himself & he was living alone so long that sometimes he began to do all those gesture with himself. He laughed sometimes after realising it. He suddenly notice email. He opened it. He was so happy. They selected him for next interview. He knew that this was sign that he was going to get job. He watched timing. Then he returned to work of present company. He didn’t want to cheat his present company. He immediately called his Boss. He told all. His Boss was sad but his Boss was happy too. Boss “ I know I can’t able to pay you enough. But I hope you will complete that project.” “ Yes..yes. I am working it. I will do it.” He felt so happy & positive. He didn’t told Kavita anything instead he began to work on project of his old company. He knew that when he got job in new one he could do much for old one. They helped him as beginner. He admired them so much. But he needed to left them. He worked hard entire night. Then he ordered something from hotel which he always did. He ate & slept. When he wake up next morning he got ready for interview. He needed to study for it. He send all project to his old Boss & even submitted resignation. He knew that he might didn’t get this new job. But now he just wanted to move on. He studied hard. He was so tense but he didn’t call his wife. She was not his supporter but a burden on his soul. He hated Kavita.
Kavita was so stressed. Pari was busy with her homework after it Pari was going to get busy with computer. Now Pari didn’t care much about parents. Pari was just busy in her world so it was getting hard to use Pari as inspiration. Ramesh was nice husband but she needed more earnings from him. She actually liked to stay with her parents & sister. Sometimes she felt that her sister was telling right. She needed to tell Ramesh to find some job with good earnings. Until now he kept working there & she didn’t mind. She kept telling herself that she was earning okay but now she needed him to do that job. It was so frustrating. She suddenly began to play with her finger ring. She looked towards it. It was her engagement ring. She kept wearing it whole time. It had diamond. She knew that it was risky but she didn’t care. She was just interested in touching it. Ramesh gave her that ring. It was so costly. Ramesh was not planning for it. But she still remembered that day. She was dressed perfectly to seduce him. She knew that his father didn’t like her that much. His father wanted simple girl. But Ramesh was in love with her & she knew that Ramesh was not getting much dates too. Ramesh was simple fellow with moderate income. She selected him since she liked in simple attitude & most importantly he permitted her career. She wanted to stay in her parent’s house for it. He agreed to it too. Other men didn’t like that idea. They wanted her to stay in their house. She wanted someone who could permit her to live wherever she wanted. Actually she wanted to shift near her parents only. She had full plan. When she entered in shop, she intentionally started wearing costly finger ring when Ramesh suggested cheaper one she started making sad faces. She did so much drama that his father spent money to increase budget. She smiled. She got married with hope that his father would increase budget once again when they decided to buy home. She was so hopeful about it. So she remembered how did she insisted that they should take house near her parent’s home. Ramesh said clearly “ It was not possible.” She smiled sweetly & asked “ Can’t we manage?” He said in sad voice “ No I can’t.” This time his father said nothing. She kept watching towards him. But clearly his father was not planning to give money. Next day his father immediately went to village. After that his father never visited them in their new home. It was small & uncomfortable. She wanted big house. But soon she sensed that it was not possible. Kavita knew that complaining didn’t help so she took one plan. She slowly began to stay in her parent’s house in name of her job. She thought that if she kept doing it slowly he would sell his property in village since he would want her to stay with him. But nothing like that happened. Then Pari was born by this time she began to admire her job. She started to work on projects. She was so upset today since first time she sensed that her company might close. Now she wanted new job. She was trying so hard. Most importantly Pari was no longer interested in her. She was not needed in her house. She needed that importance. She kept waiting for Ramesh to call her. But he didn’t. She looked towards Pari. Kavita “ Pari why don’t you call your Dad?” Pari gave strange look. Pari “ Why?” “ Since Dad miss you.” “ Then he can come here to stay with us! Grandma was saying Dad could manage it.” Kavita was so upset. She didn’t want her Mom to convince Pari that Ramesh was bad person but her mother was always did what she wanted to do. She felt so stressed by all. Kavita “ Pari it belonged to your grandfather & he is doing farming on it. He needed it to earn his living.” “ Then Dad can feed him. Why does my grandfather needed to do farming? It is wastage of money. Dad kept just entertaining him. He is my Dad but he kept just thinking about his father!” Kavita didn’t like the way Pari was talking. “ Do you know your Dad is trying for good job?” Pari gave angry look to Kavita “Mom I don’t care. I am not baby now. I understand that my Dad is useless. He earns nothing.” Kavita was so shocked she never taught this nonsense to her daughter. She angrily went to her Mom. “ Mom did you tell Pari that Ramesh earn less?” Kavita’s Mom looked shocked. “ No I never say that.” “ Then why she is talking like that?” “ Kids listen from everywhere. All know what is happening.” Kavita was so upset. Kavita immediately ran towards her mobile. She needed to keep her job now. She shivered with fear. She stayed with her parents but now she didn’t understand why she did it. She decided to visit Ramesh. She called her office. She took a day off. She came to her home. It was looking so old. When she came after marriage it was so nice. She remembered it’s beauty. She could have stayed inside but she didn’t. She wanted big house. She wanted that job. Now that job was lost. Her daughter Pari was not even respectful to her. She knew that it was not only about Ramesh whenever she tried to talk with Pari. Pari didn’t care. Sometimes she feared that Pari was getting influenced by wrong sort of people. But she couldn’t complaint. Pari was getting good grades in her school & Pari didn’t have any addiction. Pari was just arrogant & all said that it happen in that age. She was so upset. She wanted someone to talk with her. She decided that she would wait for Ramesh. She was so depressed. She sat there. Suddenly her mobile began to rang. It was Pari. Pari “ Mom where are you?” “ I am with your Dad.” “ What? I was hoping you will get divorce.” Pari said this & started laughing. Kavita was so angry. Kavita “ I am staying with your Dad. You can..” “ I am not interested. You can stay there.” After this Pari disconnected call. Pari was not even ready to take next one. Pari was so upset. It was clear that Pari didn’t want to stay with her parents. Kavita sat quietly near door. Then she called Ramesh. Ramesh took her call. Ramesh “ I am busy I will call you later.” “ I am sitting outside home.” “ Home? Ohh take key from neighbour.” She felt so relieved. She immediately went to neighbour. Clearly neighbour didn’t recognise her but gave her keys since she explained who she was.
Kavita sensed that neighbour called Ramesh to confirm. She went inside nervously. She felt so lonely. She suddenly wanted to turn back time. She wanted & suddenly she sensed that she was back. She smiled. She dressed the way as she dressed as bride. She began to cook dinner for first time. She did all as they told her to cook. She needed to do as per rituals. She began to cook all items needed to make perfect plate. She arranged all properly in silver plate. She started to do decorations. She began to feel she was new bride. She was nervous to make all perfect. She did all as per required by bride. Entire house started to look perfect. She smiled & went in her room to get ready. Ramesh was so happy when finally new Company offered him job. It meant extra hours but he could easily manage it. He okayed night duty too. He was so happy. But he felt confused when he noticed decoration outside his house. It was decoration of festival or function. At first he thought that he was in wrong flat. Then he sensed that it was his flat only. Neighbour suddenly came out & smiled. Neighbour “ Is it your anniversary? Your wife decorated all specially. I am watching her working so hard. She created perfectly look of wedding day in your house. She wanted to colour it too but it took too much time so adjusted this way.” He wanted to say that it was not but he just smiled. He began to knock on door. Kavita opened it. Kavita was looking so odd. She was looking like bride but age was visible on her face. She was trying to act like young person when she was old. She was talking the way she used to talk when they started dating. He didn’t dislike it but he felt that it was odd. He came inside. Then she sat beside him nervously & asked “ What did you want as first child? Boy or girl?” He began to laugh. “ Is this some kind of joke? We have on daughter Pari?!” Kavita gave confused look then she started laughing but Ramesh clearly sensed for sometime she lost in her world. She thought it was their first day of marriage. He felt so tense. He just got new job now he didn’t want problem of her health issue in his lap. She was his wife but she never did anything for him. She always kept demanding. Now his own daughter didn’t care for him. It was so depressing for him. He didn’t want to handle Kavita’s problem so he waited until she didn’t say “ I was joking.” Kavita laughed nervously & looked around. She didn’t understand what she was doing. She was not new bride but for sometime she felt like one. She remembered few things butaz did not all. She gave him nervous look. She saw a angry man who was betrayed by his wife. She tried to smile. Ramesh “ I got that new job.” She smiled happily. “ Great.” “ Now I got good salary but I will not be in home. I know Pari is okay with staying with her grandparents. I will keep sending money..” Kavita “ I might..” she wanted to tell him she lost her job & she wanted to stay with him. But she couldn’t. She could see that it was written in his eyes that he didn’t want her burden. She just gave nervous smile & said “ I will stay today & go away tomorrow.” Ramesh nodded. Then she served him dinner. She was acting like bride. He wanted to ignore but he couldn’t. Something was wrong with her. Then Ramesh finally asked “ What happened? Where is Pari?” “ She is busy as she always is.” She smiled then she started serving him. Ramesh continued “ Pari is getting bigger now she will become more demanding.” She suddenly asked “ Who is Pari?“ Ramesh looked towards her. Ramesh was hoping for smile but he couldn’t see one. He asked “ Are you joking again?” She just laughed. He didn’t say anything after that she kept talking like old times. They spent entire day same way as they used to spend when they were just married. He was little bit confused. He didn’t want to start it all. He finally started to go to new office before that he told her. “ You can go home. You don’t need to stay to please me.” Kavita looked towards him with coldly. Kavita nodded. He went to office. He was working when his mother-in-law made a call hysterically. “ What have you done to my daughter? Did you drug her? She is acting strange since she visited you.” “ I am on my new job this is first day. Let me work & I gave her nothing. She cooked I just ate..” then suddenly his Boss came. He smiled & started to work. Entire day he just kept working while keeping his mobile switched off. When he came out of office, he saw his daughter Pari was waiting. Pari “ What have you done to Mom?“ “ Nothing.” “ She wanted divorce from you so you done something to her.” He began to laugh. “ I am totally willing to divorce her. She just never asked.” He was so angry. He just called Cab & went away. He went in his house & he ate whatever he had found. He just changed dress & fall on bed. He was upset but still he didn’t understand when he fall asleep. When he woke up, he sensed that it was middle of night & Kavita was in his arms. He was so scared. He tried wake her up. She looked towards him with sleepy eyes. He asked “ What are you doing here?” She smiled & said “ I am your wife so I am sleeping with you.” Ramesh was so shocked. He was about to call Pari when he sensed that Kavita was telling truth. Kavita had some issue & he was her husband so he would handle it. He just messaged Pari that Kavita was with him. In morning door bell rang. Kavita woke up to take milk but it was not milkman it was Pari. Pari took hold of Kavita’s hand & started dragging her. Kavita took hold of door & began to scream for Ramesh. Neighbours came out & security was called too. Ramesh told Pari angrily “ She is my wife. She can stay with me.” Pari “She can’t. She was going to Divorce you.” “ Who told you this? You grandparents? They are lying. She is my wife & she stays with me.” Kavita hugged Ramesh & asked “ Who is she?” Pari started crying since everyone was looking towards her with anger. Ramesh sensed that Kavita needed Psychiatrist. Pari ran away while crying loudly.
Ramesh did got vacation immediately but on Sunday he managed to get appointment of Psychiatrist. Kavita didn’t wanted to visit but when he forced she agreed. Then they went there. On that point Kavita was remembering her daughter but Ramesh explained what happened. Psychiatrist told Ramesh to sit outside. Then he talked with Kavita for long time. Finally he called him inside. Psychiatrist told Kavita to sit outside. Psychiatrist “ Do you want to stay with your wife?” He thought for sometime & said “ Yes. But I can’t spend much time.” Psychiatrist smiled “ I know you got new job & you need to earn for her treatment too. She is suffering from depression. She just lost her job & Pari is not respectful to her or you. Pari wanted both of you to get Divorce while Kavita wanted to live with you. She wanted to change her past so this is happening to her. Her mind is trying to change it but she couldn’t.” Ramesh felt so sad. She acted wrong way but still he knew that they loved each other & she needed him. “ Can you cure her?” “ Not me We.” Then Psychiatrist called Kavita inside step by step he explained treatment & they listened to Psychiatrist attentively. One thing was clear Kavita shifted to her own house immediately. Pari did drama created issue but finally Pari needs to shift too. They started their new beginning. Pari was big trouble but still their life was wonderful & Kavita started to get better by treatment. Now Kavita was staying in house. But she was enjoying her life happily than before with Ramesh. Pari went complaining but they both learnt to ignore her. They wanted to live happily with each other as family & Pari needed to adjust in it. They didn’t need to change for her. She needed to change for them & they made it clear to them.
