Satish's first job
Satish was so excited about his first job. It was giving positive hope in his life. He got one job finally. It was not some job which people would appreciate but still he was happy to get a job as clark in that office. He knew that he needed to keep balance sheet properly. He went in office with that hope. His Boss Harish gave him one look. It told him that he needed to bow before him & say “ Good Morning.” He immediately did it. He wanted to keep his job at any cost. He asked Harish nicely “ What do you want me to do Sir?” “ Bring me a glass of water.” He felt so confused. He was expecting to get some respected job. But it was clear that he needed to start from beginning. He smiled nervously & he was not expecting it. He was so nervous. He went to cooler & he began to take one paper glass. Then he filled it with water. He went to serve it but Harish screamed immediately. Harish “ You are such inexperienced man. These paper glasses are for low level workers who came to do some job like repairing or maid who clean..or you can also use it but for me. I need to that proper glass. You see crystal one.” Harish pointed to line of beautiful crockery. Satish immediately nodded. Satish went there. He observed all glass then he selected one beautiful glass. He went to cooler & filled it. Then he gave it to Harish. Harish took it then Harish observed glass from all sides. He kept observing it. Satish didn’t understand what was wrong then Harish finally said “ Go & dust that cabinet.” Satish was so confused. He thought that he would now sit on computer & do some work. But he couldn’t question Harish so he started to do dusting. Then after it Satish finally sat on his desk. Satish was about to open computer when Harish screamed. Harish “ Don’t open it until I don’t order.” Satish gave him confused look. Satish “ Then what I suppose to do?” “ Just sit before it & pretend you are working. This is show off for customers. We don’t have regular customer. I have already stored data of limited customers we had.” Satish looked towards Harish with confusion. Satish was not expecting this but still he smiled. Satish “ I understood Sir.” Harish smiled & said “ You are great employee. Do you know how to make tea or coffee?” “ No Sir!” “ What you never made one?” “ No Sir. My Mom or my sister-in-law or my sister did it.” “ Wow! So you never learn even to make tea or coffee.” He turned his head negatively. He knew that he could try but he was too scared. Then Harish said “ Go out & order one. Just one. I am not planning to give you free tea or coffee.” Satish nodded. Satish went out. He began to search for tea shops. He was so lost in his thoughts. He didn’t sense where he was going until one car didn’t come near him & rang horn. He felt so nervous. That Driver screamed loudly “ Are you out of your mind? When you will learn to walk properly on road?” He didn’t say anything. He sensed that Harish would be more upset if he argued. He looked towards himself. He was little bit on road due to parked cars. He felt so nervous. He started to search for tea shop. Finally he found one. He ordered one tea & waited. After sometime he got that tea & he was about to turn when something pressed on his shoulder heavily. He screamed in pain. Harish started laughing. “ You are so weak. You need develop some muscles.”then Harish pointed towards him & told tea shop owner “ This is my new employee.” Tea shop owner laughed “ But Sir without customers why did you need employee?” “ Since my wife wanted me to keep one. Her father opened that Company now she wanted to it to appear working so I am doing this.” Tea shop owner smiled & said “ Well you need to be careful when you decide how much money you will spend on show off.” “ Don’t worry. This fellow is very useful.” Harish put his hand on Satish’s shoulder. Then Harish added “ He knew dusting & bring water too. He just don’t know how to make Tea.” Tea shop owner started laughing. “ Its not hard skill. I can train him.” Harish smiled happily. Harish turned to Satish & said “ You can stay with him & learn.” Satish didn’t like that idea but he nodded. Harish & Tea shop owner started laughing. Harish “ This man is so stupid. He is lucky to get smart Boss like me otherwise he should be jobless.” They both laughed on Satish again. Then finally they shifted to other subjects & Satish told Harish that he would return to office after all he was not going to drink tea. Harish looked towards Satish & nodded. Satish returned to office. Satish was so happy now. Satish wanted to sit peacefully. He didn’t open computer. He just opened his mobile & began to play some game. He knew that he was wasting time but he didn’t have any option. Then after sometime one woman came. He immediately began to observe computer. That woman gave angry look to him. “ Where is my husband?” “ Madam I can’t tell. I don’t know!” “ Really!” That woman came offensively towards him. He didn’t say anything. He just kept watching towards closed computer. “ Where is your Boss?” On that point Harish entered from behind. Harish had lots of files in his hand. Harish screamed loudly “ Come on take them & store in cupboard.” Satish open cupboard & put these papers inside.” He screamed loudly. Satish stood up & asked confusedly “ Which?” That woman pointed towards cupboard. Satish ran to open it. Cupboard was locked. Harish “ My God. Take keys.” “ Where are..” that woman pointed keys which were actually on his table only. He smiled nervously. He opened cupboard & kept papers inside it. Harish “ Lila how are you?” “ I am fine. Why you are talking as if we are meeting after many days? You came here from home just now & I am your wife who gave you morning tea & breakfast. Remember me.” Harish laughed. “ Of course.” Satish was placing those papers properly in cupboard. He was feeling so upset by all. Satish didn’t like this job. But he knew that he needed job so he needed to do it. He kept looking inside cupboard nervously. He didn’t understand why did his Boss Harish kept all old electricity bills in it. But he was not planning to question his boss. He just kept keeping all properly in right places.
When Satish returned home from office, he was so nervous. Satish kept thinking about his entire day. He was feeling so nervous. His job was really meaningless but he needed to money. He didn’t understand how long they would keep it. He felt that it was just to show his Boss’s wife that business was going on. But actually it was not going on. This was going to come out one day & it would become worst. He knew that this job was useless. He was so sad. He once again started to search for jobs. He began to make applications but most of them were rejected & some offered such low salary for so many hours that he couldn’t accept. He began to sense that his best job was what he was doing. But he knew that Harish was not actually running any business. His Mom came in room with his tea. Mom “ So how was first day?” He looked towards his Mom. He wanted to tell truth so he began “ Actually Mom I feel this company doesn’t have much future.” “ Really why?” “ Mom Boss isn’t taking much interest in work slowly step by step entire company will get closed. How can a company survive without clients?” It was really good question. But Satish didn’t have answer for it. It was so frustrating. He screamed on his Mom “ I don’t know. Mom why you asking such a stupid question?! That company was going to stop one day. It can’t go like that. I will need new job.” Mom suddenly began to look so pale. Mom “ Once again how could you get job? Do you remember how hard it took to start this job?” “ I know about..” he was discussing when he got call from Boss’s mobile. Satish didn’t understand why did Harish calling him now. Harish “ I am going in one club. I want you to join me.” “ Me? Sir I never went in club…” “ Enough do you want to keep job then come.” Satish turned to his Mom. Mom “ I feel better to stop that job. I don’t want to you get drunk with your Boss.” “ Mom I can’t leave job just because Boss invited me in Club.” “ What if he forced you to drink?” “ I don’t think so.” Satish just said this & ran towards place where Harish told him to stand. Then Harish told him to take him to Club. When they reached to Club Harish told him to sit inside car whole time. Satish was very happy on that suggestion. Satish didn’t wanted to go inside any way. It was scary thought for him. He just kept sitting in car for entire time happily. It was so uncomfortable but it was okay. Then after sometime Harish came out & he took him back to Harish’s house. Satish went back home early in Morning. It was decided that next morning he supposed to come too. He got extra money for last night’s work. Satish didn’t mind sitting in car entire night. But when he reached to office next day, he was only one who was there. Harish called & told him he was taking rest. Satish sat in office. He felt so frustrated. He was sitting idol in one room called office where he didn’t have any job. He knew that if he tried to complaint people would say it was dream job but it was not. From first day he sensed his job was doomed. He kept searching for other job from his office computer. He was no longer scared of his Boss. Since after last night he sensed that Harish was cheating his wife too. He was taking her money & not doing any business then he went out in name of work & in Club Harish was enjoying himself. Satish was so tense by all this. Satish didn’t want to become part of this sin so he decided to leave job when Lila suddenly appeared. Lila “ I brought these projects I want them to stored in computer.” He smiled happily. He began to work with full attention. He started to hope for nice business. He kept working whole time. Lila was instructing him & he was doing it without argument. On that point Lila appeared confident. Lila was explaining all with smile. He was so happy. He did all then suddenly Lila began to look confused. Lila asked him “ Why I came here?” He didn’t say anything. Then Satish said “ To complete this project.” He pointed towards half done project. He asked “ What did you want me to do next?” Lila shivered. He didn’t understand why she was suffering from cold in this hot weather. But he didn’t dare to ask any personal questions. He just kept waiting for next order. She didn’t say anything. She just stood up from chair & ran out of office. This was so confusing but then after some seconds one man came & told him to give entire project to him. “ I can’t I need to confirm with Madam.” Then that man immediately produced legal documents to suggest that Lila told him to do this. Satish was so happy. Satish immediately gave that all information. He was so happy to get chance to work for office. Harish came in late in afternoon. Satish was so excited. He immediately went to Harish & told him all. Harish looked so pale. Harish said “ So you saw that ghost?” “ Ghost? Sir it was your wife. She is running business very well.” Harish began to laugh. Harish “ My wife is not that talented. She is just stupid housewife. This is soul of my father-in-law who did this.” Satish was so shocked. Her didn’t understand how could educated person like Harish believed in this nonsense. It was different that what he thought about Harish. Harish didn’t seem like sound man to him. Harish seemed like mentally unsound person. Satish didn’t say anything then finally Satish said “ I feel Lila Madam is wise lady she is doing this.” Harish screamed on him “ Shut up. Are you attracted towards my wife? Why else you feel she is wise?” Satish felt so nervous. He never thought this way. But he disliked that idea. He began to feel ashamed of it. Satish “ Sir actually I don’t want to think that Ghost exist & it can harm us.” Harish gave sweet smile & said “ I know. No one want to feel that Ghost is around you.” Satish gave odd look to Harish. Satish didn’t understand why his Boss was saying so odd things. He decided that he would talk to Lila Madam next time. He was so sure that she was wise than her husband Harish.
Satish came home & told all. His Mom slowly said “ That woman might be mad.” “ What?” “ In our village once one girl used to live in big joint family. There were many male members. All respect of wives & children depends on earning & status of male member. Her one Uncle died & his children & wife became just slaves or servants for others. Due to bad luck father of this girl who had great reputation died in one accident. That girl cried near dead body. Then suddenly she began to talk & act like her father. All thought that she was possessed. She kept acting like father for long time. One day she began to abuse her mother since her mother was discussing how to remove soul of father from her body. Her Mom didn’t want her daughter to remain that way. She began to abuse & hit. They need to calm down her. Finally they called Doctor who told it was mental trouble. She was admitted to hospital. They said she was doing it since she didn’t want to become inferior like her cousins.” Satish was shocked “ But did she got cured?“ “ I don’t know after it her Mom left village. It was big issue & entire family was against her. They all kept claiming she taught it to her daughter. No one wanted her. Her brother came & took her away. I don’t know what happened to her afterwards. But this Lila seemed like her.” Satish nodded. Satish “ I don’t want to suggest it to Boss. Harish would abuse me.” “ I know but I want you to be careful while handling this Lila.” Satish nodded. After that project for long time Lila didn’t come in office. Just Harish kept coming. Then Harish kept taking him to Club too. Satish was getting irritated by this. Satish wanted to resign from job but finding new one was not easy & his payment was good too. Then after sometime Lila again came in office this time Harish was there but she ignored him. She came directly to Satish & told him work that he supposed to do. Satish did all. Then once again that man came & took away work he had done. Harish kept watching all. Then when Satish was supposed to go home, Harish stopped him. Harish “ I don’t want you to do work that my wife suggest.” “ But Sir it bring money in Company.” Harish screamed loudly “ Just stay away from my wife. I am going to fire you on this moment.” “ But Sir!” “ Go away.” Satish felt that it should be better if he warned. “ Sir I don’t feel this is ghost inside your wife. She is having mental issues. She wanted to run business of her father which she can as you see she done all those projects so perfectly. You need to give her chance Sir! She will earn lot more. She is wise woman with new ideas to prosper our company. You need to appreciate her talent Sir.” Harish didn’t say anything just slapped Satish on face & said “ Go away.” Then Harish threw some money on him & said “ This is your salary Get lost.” Satish was so hurt. Satish didn’t want to collect money thrown on ground. He didn’t say anything. He just went away. He didn’t look back. When he came home his Mom immediately noticed mark of cheek. Satish decided to tell all without hiding anything. It was frustrating but he needed to do it. Satish said “ I will go in office tomorrow to give proper resignation.” But before he could do that. He found email which told he was fired from job. He began to search for new one. He knew that it was odd. He kept searching hard. Slowly he started doing some typing as work from home. It was limited but it was giving him earnings. He didn’t plan to marry since in this situation his earning was so low that he couldn’t manage to feed a family. He kept giving interviews but he didn’t got much success. One day finally he got once again one small job. It was with limited salary but this time he was truly working hard for company. His Boss was normal person who sometimes get angry when he did mistakes in work normally nice fellow. Staff was mixed. Some were sweet & some were arrogant. He was okay with atmosphere. But one day he received shock of his life. He saw Harish’s photo in newspaper which his Boss was reading. He couldn’t control himself & ran towards Boss. He asked loudly “ What is this news?” Boss looked shocked. Boss “ Since when you started screaming on me?” He looked around all staff was looking towards him with shock. Satish “ Sir actually this man was my last Boss.” “ Really? So why he fired you?” Satish started to tell entire story. He didn’t stop until end. His Boss immediately shifted to news of Harish. His Boss said “ Harish was found dead in home.” “Well! What happened?” “ It says he came home from Club. Then he went to sleep & he was dead when he must woke up. Cops suspect food poisoning. They are checking food of club etc.” other staff member “ But no one suspected widow?” “ No. They all felt it was due to club.” His Boss looked towards Satish & said “ Be careful.” That day when Satish was going home on road he saw Lila. She was standing beside her car. She smiled. He returned back. He didn’t want to tell her what he suspected. She called him. He went towards her. “ Satish I want you to return on Job!” He smiled nervously & said “ I am sorry Madam but I got one job already.” She looked upset. “ I will pay more salary.” “ But I can’t ditch Boss just for money. This is question of honesty.” His statement immediately touched her soul. She smiled & said “ It was not your fault. It was fault of Harish. You were so honest. But Harish was cheater.” Satish was already sweating. She smiled & said “ Don’t worry. I am not angry.” Then she gave him one Cheque. He slowly said “ Madam there isn’t ghost inside you. You need Psychiatrist.” She started laughing loudly then she gave him angry look & said “ Go away. I am letting you go since you are honest. But remember one thing. Never try to tell me what I supposed to do. Go away.” He ran away with Cheque. After that he never saw her. But he always kept watching around carefully. He felt scared that she might come after him one day. But she never came back. She was not interested in her ex employee & he daily thanked God for it. He couldn’t deny her fear in his heart. He kept dreaming about her sometimes in night.
