Tina's career
Tina was so happy. Finally she got that lead role in play. She was preparing for it since long time. She was beautiful for some people but for other people she had bad looks. Now she didn't understand actually what she should consider herself. A beautiful girl or a ugly girl! She already stopped thinking about it. She just kept thinking about her talent. Her chance was precious to her. She decided that she wanted it to become best for her. She started doing performance. She stopped on right pose. She was so happy when suddenly her Mom entered. Her Mom gave sweet smile & said " Ajit is here." She was so confused. Ajit was her sweetheart. She loved him from school. Of course on that point she didn't express it. But she liked him. He never paid much attention to her then. He was busy in his cricket fame. He was big cricket star. He was such good batsman! All used to think that he would play for country one day. Even school principal said it during annual function. They all kept their finger crossed when it came to selection. They all wanted him to win. She knew that he was such great player. He would surely get chance. During school days she was just one girl out of crowd. But in college suddenly things were changed. He was great cricket player but not so great they got better hero than him. He was selected first year then by second year he got out of team. Then he didn't give it much try. He shifted his attention to studies. While she started participating in elocution competition. She won trophy for college. They began to admire her talent. For him she began star. He felt so proud of her. He began to show interest in her. She was so happy. Now whenever he visited their house her Mom came running in room. Mom knew her interest in him. Her entire family knew his family. They were rich & reputated people. Her parents wanted this proposal. Her grandparents were planning things to arrange this marriage. Ajit's parents were too rich. It was really hard for them. They couldn't even able to manage to get seat next to them in hotel arrangements. Her grandmother was telling " It was so complicated! We need to discuss. We need to convince them. But we can't even able to sit beside them. Now I feel Tina needed to do all by herself." Tina smiled but she hated the way they were presenting it. It seemed as if they were just telling her to attract him since he was rich. Perfect to earn money. She wanted to become rich but not this way. She was not planning to use herself. But then her Mom convinced her that it was okay. All girls did same thing. She agreed too. She began to count bank balance too. She began to feel that it was essential too. But she didn't sense when she began to just count his money & forgot her emotions towards him. It was no longer her love. She wanted to marry him. But he didn't appreciate her profession. She sensed it. She wanted to play part in threater. He nodded. But he was not truely interested. Specifically when he saw her acting with hero, he made strange face. His question was shocking to her " Are you truely in love with that boy who played hero?" She was so confused. She never thought that he would think this way. He used to go out daily with different girl just for date as charity during his days as sports star. She thought that he was modern. She asked angrily " Are you out of your mind? How could you ask me like this?" He sensed his mistake. He laughed & said " I was just joking!" She smiled back. She couldn't argue but she knew that he was not joking. Another friend who was observing it came to her & said " If you want to pursue this career you can't keep this boyfriend. He didn't understand! You two can't survive your marriage. You need either other boyfriend or other career." Her face was so panic that other friend interfered " Come on! I feel he was just joking. Nothing serious!" " Joking! My foot! He was totally serious. She must face it otherwise she would land in more trouble." She was about to answer when her professor called & they went back to rehearsal. That time she wanted to become heroine but it didn't happen. She never understood why. Sometimes she felt that due to Ajit's atmosphere was against her. Many actors felt her boyfriend would become pain in neck. Now she was in senior college. This time she didn't invited him for play rehearsal. He was in different college & she was in different college so no one knew him. She felt that she was free. But whenever he came her Mom came running. She was so confused. Her heart was confused. It still felt same speed of heartbeats whenever she saw him. But still she didn't want to miss her chance. She took deep breath. " Mom I am practicing." Mom looked confused. Mom " So do you want me to tell him that you are not in home?" " Didn't you already told him I am inside?" " Yes but I can make excuse like you left & I thought you are inside.." "Mom it will not work. Acting is not your skill. Anyone can catch you when you speak lie." Mom nodded. She was so upset. She needed to go down. She went down. After seeing Ajit she once again felt same attraction. She needed him. She knew that she wanted to do her career but he was important too. She sat beside him. She began to feel that she just needed him. She totally forgot about her play. She was so confused. She didn't understand what would be best for her. She started talking with him. Soon she forgot her play totally. She knew that due to him she might lose her interest in career. But he had strange effect on her. She took logical decision when he was not around. He managed to take hold of her mind. She sat with him for hours. She didn't even mention her play. It was so enchanting. She was sitting for hours. Then finally he decided to go. His friend called him & he immediately went away. She wanted him to stop but he didn't. She didn't understand why did he needed to act like that. He used her as timepass. He came when he needed to waste time & he went away when he didn't need her. She felt like some toy. It was happening every time. She was hurt. She left her play behind for him. But he didn't care. She wanted to cry but she didn't. She kept sitting.
Tina went in her room. Mom looked at her with doubt. Mom " What happened?" " Mom he just came for timepass!" Her Mom looked confused. " I don't understand!" "I feel he doesn't really care for me. While I left my entire work for him, he just went away for his friend's call for some timepass chat!" " It might be some business deal? I mean he mentioned that he is working with his father." Now this managed to impress her. " What? He didn't tell to me!" Mom smiled & said "He told it to me then he was supposed to tell you..in fact he came to tell you but he got so much involved in someone's eyes that he totally forgot." She suddenly began to feel confidence in her love. She began to feel that he was enchanted by her. On this point her grandmother entered. She was very sweet lady. Her grandmother was her best friend. She loved to chat with her alone. Her Mom didn't like her mother-in-law that much. But she loved her grandmother. Her Mom gave artificial smile & said " You can chat with Tina. I will arrange snacks." Tina nodded. Her grandmother sat on her bed. Her grandmother was not to choosy. A bed was perfect for her. She smiled. " So Grandma " What's a big news?!" " Well I am confused about this Ajit. His parents are not even interested in sitting beside us. I feel he didn't discuss you with them!" Tina shivered with fear. She didn't like the way conversation was heading. She knew that her parents wanted her to marry with Ajit. She needed to find some way to convince herself that he was in love with her! Otherwise it would be public embarrassment for her. She knew that it was essential. "Grandmother he loves me! Why he keep coming?!" Her Grandmother smiled & said " You are right. He might be too shy to tell parents." She nodded. Then they changed subject. Her Grandmother started talking about other things. She began to tell about play. Her play was very important to her. She began to concentrate on it again with help of her grandmother. Grandma "You need identity to enjoy your life. You like acting then you must concentrate on it." She nodded but she started to look sad. Grandmother asked " What happened?" " Ajit doesn't like my acting career." Her grandmother looked shocked. Grandma " What? He doesn't like your career! Then how does you plan to survive this relationship?!" Tina was so shocked by Grandma's comments. She was expecting some solution or some help. But this was direct offese to her relationship! Her grandmother was pointing everything against it. She didn't like it. " Grandma he love me that is enough." " But if he doesn't like what you do how could he spend entire life with you?" " I will adjust!" " In which way? You are planning to leave career behind?" She was so upset. She just stood up & went in window. Grandma immediately changed subject " So what is story of this play?" Tina smiled & started telling. Tina slowly totally forgot all. She was so happy that she finally got a subject which would bring smiles on lips. She was so happy explaining about play. She began to plan different character in play. She wanted different concept in play. She was so pleased with that acting. She was so happy. She started to think how beautiful she could act. Suddenly all her troubles were forgotten. She started her rehearsal before grandmother. Her Mom was standing outside. Her Mom was so glad that her grandmother stopped discussing Ajit. They needed Tina's positive attitude towards Ajit. Tina was not going to become actor. It was already decided by her parents. They couldn't tell it to her on face since then she would argue. She might even rebel. Her grandmother was her biggest support so they were planning her marriage. Even if Ajit didn't marry her at least she would quit acting for him. Then they could surely find new boyfriend. Boyfriend was not problem. They could find some boy. They just wanted her to quit acting. Tina was so after this career. Even her college was encouraging it. Her Mom wanted to keep her in simple college. But Tina took admission in this one. Now she was interested in this career. Her Mom was not sure that Ajit was in love with her. But Tina needed diversion. She hoped that Ajit would provide it. But she sensed that Tina's grandmother was encouraging it. She just wanted to throw that woman out of house. She was so upset. Tina was talking about her career. Then Tina's Mom found wonderful idea. She decided that she would interfere by calling her mother-in-law. She needed an unknown number. She decided that she would ask her neighbour. She went to her & started to tell her a story " In morning I was cooking in kitchen & by mistake kept mobile on table.." Before she could say anything neighbour completed her sentence " It is broken?!" Her neighbour was clearly happy. Since her neighbour broke her mobile same way few days ago & her husband taunted her so much. Now she wanted to prove that it was common thing. Neighbour immediately agreed to give her mobile. She made call to her mother-in-law. She knew that if she made call to take it her mother-in-law would came in balcony. She immediately returned mobile after thanking & entered in Tina's room with one intertion that she was not going out of it. She knew that now Tina wouldn't mind her entry. After all her grandmother was busy with call & Tina hated when such things happened. Today Tina was totally upset by every action of her grandmother so she wanted her out of room. She wanted her Mom in room. She knew that it would upset her grandmother. So when grandmother came in room, her Mom was sitting there. Soon after her mother's entry her grandmother went away Tina was so happy. She didn't want anyone to tell her that Ajit didn't love her. She felt so inferior & hurt. She was sure that he was after her so he kept coming in home. She smiled happily.
Ajit was glad that finally his friend called. He wasted too much time on Tina. He needed to find new one. He was planning to start searching. Tina was too modern. He wanted someone rich & traditional. He knew that all girls were little bit modern. But Tina was actress. His parents were planning to introduce him to daughter of some business colleague. He thought that he needed to meet her. She might be more interesting. He didn't want Tina any more. That evening he got ready to meet her. He began to chat with her. She was so perfect. He agreed to her every thought. Then by end of evening it seemed as if their marriage was fixed. Ajit managed to forget Tina. Tina was practicing her role when Ajit called her. Ajit knew that he needed to be honest to Tina. He told her " Tina I need to tell you my engagement is fixed. Why don't you come to it?" Tina was so shocked. She knew that she was his girlfriend for some time. But he never discussed marriage. Today he acted as if nothing was going on. She knew that it was only way to keep her dignity. She smiled & said " Great I will come!" He was so happy. His problem was solved without drama. He knew that Tina was not planning to appear like his girlfriend & it would be great. Tina said " Good bye!" Tina disconnected call. Then she started crying. Now this would be embarrassing before all. But she didn't have much option. She called Mom & told her. Mom looked confused. Then Mom immediately started " This happened because of your acting..." Mom said many things but she didn't understand them. She just kept hearing one line. It all happened because of her career. She was so shocked. Tina never thought that her career could be cause of so much trouble. She didn't say anything. But after it she tried still her acting was no longer that good. She next day went to practice but she was acting totally wrong. Her director was so angry that she became maid instead of heroin. Still she couldn't able to even say dialogue of maid properly. Whenever she started to say it suddenly her lips started to shiver. Her words became meaningless. That day she literally ran out of auditorium. After that she informed them that she was no longer acting. She tried to become normal but nothing was working. She was studying hard. She wanted to pass examination. But she started to wake up in middle of night. She started to cry without cause. She didn't understand what was wrong with her. She began to get restless. Her Mom began to suggest that she was upset due to Ajit's engagement. She nodded but she was not sure. She didn't understand why she felt so upset about him. One day her college friend suggested her number of counselor. She said " You must go there." She nodded. But when she suggested her parents, they got so angry. Mom " Are you out of your mind? People don't go to Psychiatrist until they don't start seeing imaginary thing?" Dad " She just want to create drama on Ajit. Start showing new boys to her." Her Mom nodded happily. Then they started showing one boy after another. She disliked them all. It was shocking. The way those boys were acting. She was so upset. Once finally even her professor suggested psychiatrist. She decided to go. She kept saving money. She knew that she needed to hide it from parents. During that time she went to Ajit's engagement party. Everyone was admiring his beautiful bride. She was nice to them. Tina started to get upset. Then she started drinking. She didn't understand when she lost track of it. Then she created big drama before all. She didn't even remember how did she came back. But next day entire college was watching her strange dance in drunk state & enjoying it. Her parents were so upset. Finally they agreed to take her to psychiatrist. Psychiatrist talked with her for hours. Finally Psychiatrist called her parents. " Why you feel that Tina should be blamed for cancellation of her wedding with Ajit? You know very well it was due to financial position!" Her parents nodded. Tina was so shocked. Psychiatrist " You did it to stop her career? Now look at her condition." Her parents looked sad. Psychiatrist " Let her do her career!" " But they didn't stop me!" " They did. You just don't sense it." Tina nodded. Any way after treatment Tina started acting. She began to do all in normal way. People still joked on her dance in Ajit's engagement. Ajit didn't invited her on his wedding. But she didn't cry. She laughed. She called her Grandmother & said " Grandma I feel I can't do my career as dancer! I mean after my one dance Ajit felt so scared that he doesn't invite me on wedding." Then they both laughed. On that day she sensed first time that it was Good news that he was getting married. Finally she got rid of him. She liked him but not so much. She loved her career more. She started practicing for her play while ignoring her parents' objection about it.
