Sickness of Pari
Pari was sitting near window of bus when suddenly her Mom came. " Pari come inside sweetheart or you will catch cold." Pari wanted to watch view but when Mom told her that she might catch cold. She began to feel scared. But still she decided that she might watch that scenery for some time. She kept watching it. But soon she started shivering. She came inside. Her Mom touched her. " My God you are having fever." Her Dad " She never listen to us. She got fever because she was watching out of that window. She needed to act with care. Don't have even common sense." He was literally screaming on her. She was feeling so sick due to fever but her Dad kept screaming on her. She wanted to become perfect but she was feeling so sick. Her head was paining so much. She decided that she must had done big mistake. Mom " She is little child. She wanted to watch out of window." Dad started screaming more loudly " And due to her stubbornness our picnic was going to get spoiled." " Come on take it easy. Kids get sick sometimes." " Not if they listen to elders. Teach her some manners. She always behave in worst way. Even Mom was saying that she was getting so rude. She keep throwing tantrums." Her Mom kept getting frustrated. She was feeling so sick. Her head was so heavy. She wanted to control her tears but she couldn't help it. Her Dad started screaming more. Then suddenly another passenger came there. Passenger " I am Doctor. Can I check that girl?" Her father suddenly started talking sweetly " Surely Madam. This girl never listened to us She kept drinking cold things and eating ice creams." Pari started crying loudly. She screamed " I have not eaten any thing for month since you told me I must not do so I have not done any thing." Her Mom started patting her. " Relax dear No one is blaming you." Then suddenly that passenger came near her. Her father vacated that seat. She felt so happy. Her Dad always kept blaming her for every thing. She wanted to tell that nice lady that she never did any thing wrong. That lady Doctor gave pleasant smile. Pari " I didn't do anything wrong. I just looked out of window. My head was inside. I never disobey Mom. I am nice girl." Pari was crying. She wanted to look nice before all but she could sense every one was calling her evil girl. She could see it in their eyes. She was so sad. She never wanted to hurt others. Pari " I spoiled trip for all." Doctor " For whom? I am going for medical seminar only." She began to laugh. Many other passengers claimed that they were going out for working. Few claimed that she might make other's sick. But few got angry. One said " Stop this nonsense. She is sick. She didn't want to be sick. Don't you have kids at home?" " But have kids on bus too!! Just keep her there and don't let her spread it." Doctor " This is not deadly virus. I don't feel she can spread now." " I don't understand." " Virus generally spread before these signs. After fever etc. They don't spread. She started running but her Dad stopped her. Dad " You were sick. You must move with care." She nodded. She started moving ahead slowly with her parents. She wanted to enjoy. When they reached in their room, she started to watch TV. She began to feel relaxed. She started to feel happy. In this vacation it was first thing she enjoyed. In this place she didn't need to study. She could enjoy TV. Then her dad went out with her Mom. She sensed that they wanted to discuss something which they didn't want to discuss before her. She decided that she must not hear it. She started to watch T.V. She began to enjoy serial but still she couldn't concentrate on T.V. Her whole attention was shifted to her parents again and again. He did it with full attention then he wrote some medicine. When she showed her medicine given by Sunita, he smiled "They are perfect. I think she just need some time to recover. I have changed few medicines but I must say these will do fine too. In fact I feel she was already getting better. I just don't understand why did she feeling so cold? In fact she is not even having fever now." Rita was so upset. This Doctor seemed like good for nothing. He was asking question to her instead of answering her questions. She was so angry. Ramesh " Pari you need to act more careful while eating or sitting in window." Rita " Stop it. She was not sick just due to sitting in window." Ramesh " Stop protecting her. She always stayed under your shadow. She was becoming your pet. Soon she will turn useless if she kept following her Mom everywhere." Rita was so angry. " What we suppose to do? I can't cook in hotel room." " I know that much . But we can order simple food like rice or roti with curd." " Curd? But she is having cold." Ramesh looked so tense. " I just never wanted to come on this vacation." " Ya you just want to keep our daughter locked." " Do you feel it is my fault that I want my daughter to be safe and healthy?" " Safe? What is risk to her life? You are not some celebrity that some one might want to kill you or kidnap your daughter for your money. I am sure even normal kidnapper have more money than us." " So really? How did you know bank balance of kidnapper? Did you or your Dad was in that profession?" Rita was so angry now. Ramesh was dragging her Dad in this. Her Dad was nice friendly man whatever happening between them was clearly not his mistake. Rita " Why did you need to insult my Dad?" "So you just care for your father not for your husband?" " What did I do against you? I just wanted you to stop panicking our daughter. Pari is getting scared. She is crying due to your attitude." " My attitude? Or your carelessness? First of all it was your fault that she fall sick." " My fault? What do you mean?" " You never pay attention to her eating habits. I don't understand why you are busy when you are just housewife and we have one maid and cook." " Really. What kind of servant do we have? One of them is always missing. That cook is never on time so I need to do half work by myself." "Then why did you waste my money on them? Just fire them." " Really? Then who would pay attention to your daughter's studies. Our cook didn't cook entire meal. I need to cook meal too and I need to also clean our house. But if you feel your money is getting wasted, I might just fire cook. It will be better since your attitude told me that you don't understand importance of my household work. They started arguing in loud voices. They didn't sense their voice was reaching in balcony which was below them until finally that couple screamed " Will you stop arguing? We are on honey moon and you are giving best example for starting married life. Of course you can become best example for starting divorce procedure but we don't want to learn how to destroy marriage so go inside room and fight." Ramesh was so angry. He screamed " Go to hell." But other guests also started coming in balcony. Every one wanted them to go inside. Rita pushed Ramesh back in room. Pari was sitting on bed and watching TV. Now she was even shivering. They went near her and checked her fever. It was not high. Rita " I don't understand why she is shivering?" " I don't know and I don't care. I am going to give her blanket and call Doctor." Rita nodded. She started patting Pari. She began to feel that Pari's sickness was not as simple as Sunita told her. Rita started to get tense too. She gave Pari medicine. Pari once again went to sleep but she was shivering even in her sleep.
Now Rita was tense just like Ramesh. She felt that Pari was fine at beginning but she was shivering in strange way now. It was totally scary to her. Rita began to feel that her husband was not paranoid he might be doing right thing for their daughter while she was keeping blind faith on Doctor Sunita who might be not proper Doctor as she thought. She started to feel more and more tense. It was turning in worst way. She began to feel that her daughter was not okay. She started to offering her sweater. Pari was shivering so much that Rita had to help her to wear it which was not easy task. She felt so scared that she might hurt Pari. It was so hard. When it was finally over, she started patting Pari for sleeping. She began to sense that Pari was too sick. She started to sensing one thing that Sunita was not right. She was not sure that she was cheat or she did just mistake. She was so upset. Finally Doctor came with Ramesh. He went to Pari. He checked Pari in details. He did it with full attention then he wrote some medicine. When she showed her medicine given by Sunita, he smiled "They are perfect. I think she just need some time to recover. I have changed few medicines but I must say these will do fine too. In fact I feel she was already getting better. I just don't understand why did she feeling so cold? In fact she is not even having fever now." Rita was so upset. This Doctor seemed like good for nothing. He was asking question to her instead of answering her questions. She was so angry. But she didn't show it. She just sat with Pari. When Doctor went away, Ramesh returned with confused expression. " Hotel told me he was expert in this area but he couldn't locate her sickness." Rita " Personally I feel that Doctor was not smart. He missed so dumb. He kept asking question to me instead of answering questions for me." Ramesh couldn't help smiling. Ramesh " I totally agree with you. He seemed to think you are better Doctor than him. I feel that Sunita on Bus was better than him." Rita " Yes we will continue her medicines and we might just go back." Pari started crying slowly. Pari was so excited about this trip. Now that entire trip was spoiled because of her. Rita started consoling her. " Mom I acted like good girl. I didn't do any thing wrong." " Honey people didn't get sick because they did something wrong. Sometimes it just happen. Sickness might come through air or water too." " But we boil our water." " But still sometimes it can't become perfect. Even that food which we eat have many pesticides. It also create reaction on us." Rita was talking with Pari but whole time Ramesh was looking at her with angry expression. Ramesh " Pari you need to act more careful while eating or sitting in window." Rita " Stop it. She was not sick just due to sitting in window." Ramesh " Stop protecting her. She always stayed under your shadow. She was becoming your pet. Soon she will turn useless if she kept following her Mom everywhere." Rita was so angry. Ramesh was creating wall between her and her daughter. Rita " Stop this nonsense. She is sick and what is bad in listening to Mom?" He started laughing. " You will not understand. But person become stupid by following Mom. " Rita was so angry. She began to regret first time for taking her Mom's suggestion. She married Ramesh on her advice only. But at that time Ramesh looked like nice man. She soon sensed his attitude. He was so bossy. He always kept screaming on her when he wanted his job done. He wanted every thing to be perfect. She had to work hard to please him. But then soon she sensed that she couldn't please him. Since he never wanted to be please with her, he wanted her to work hard on every time. His attitude was so rude to any one. She wanted him to act at least nicely with his daughter. But it was not working. He always had those worst taunt for all. She hated him more than before. Sometimes she felt taking divorce would be better. But she knew that it was impossible without financial support. She never did any job. She knew finding one at this age was impossible. She never found a job that was her trouble from beginning. She was happy to become house wife too. But when Ramesh started her taunting her regarding her uselessness. She knew that many housewives get respect from their husbands but she never got it. She had to manage all. Then she became pregnant. They told her to take bed rest so they had to keep cook. When cook entered in house, Ramesh began to feel that she was useless thing. When she was always busy since Ramesh never touched any work from house. He threw away every thing around house and he always expected her to pick up. Since she was just sitting in home, she supposed to do all. But when it came to taking care of their child, she had to work hard even for it. But he never understood it. She looked at sick Pari. She decided that she had made biggest mistake by marrying Ramesh. He was good for no one. She kept patting Pari.
Ramesh just hated it when Rita started protecting Pari. He felt that she was just pretending. Rita truly never cared for her kids. He knew it from his soul. She was just a stupid woman. He knew that it was her mistake that their first kid died. But Rita never accepted it. On her first pregnancy she was staying with her parents. He didn't took any interest since he thought that they would take care of situation. He knew that Rita was not wise but he had accepted intelligence from her parents. But when his child died, he sensed that they were stupid too. That Gynecologist kept saying that it was matter of bad luck but he knew that it was Rita's mistake. She never acted wisely. She must had done something wrong like she did today. Pari must had eaten something wrong. Ramesh knew surely. Whenever Pari became sick, she always ate something wrong. He knew that his daughter was lying. Rita taught her all wrong things. He saw few times that Rita even taught her lying. One day Rita brought her a nice dress. He told Rita clearly not to buy that dress since it was too costly. But Rita never listened to him. One day Pari started asking for dress as birthday gift. Her birthday was after three months but Pari kept insisting. Ramesh told not to give it. Ramesh expected Rita to listen to him. But then after few days he saw same dress in cupboard when he called Pari. Pari looked scared. He screamed on her. He asked about that dress. She just kept denying. She started crying then Rita entered in picture. She started convincing him. He argued with her. But he knew that she would never understand. Rita never understood how did she supposed to run a house. He felt so upset with her on each day. Sometimes he just wished that he should have married to some other girl who was more useful to him. But he knew that it was not easy to find bride for him. He needed to work hard for it. His attitude towards perfection managed to hurt him every time. He kept taunting girls which would managed to hurt many suitable brides. He was not appreciated by any one. Then he learned few tricks from a friend to impress girl and her parents. He practiced it and it worked with Rita. But as soon as they got married, he showed her his attitude. At beginning she was accepting his orders but after birth of Pari he sensed change in her. She didn't obey him blindly now. She kept questioning his decisions. He just hated it. But he had to cope up with her. After all she was his wife. Today he sensed that she was even managing to spoil his daughter. Pari needed to listen to his every statement. She needed to act like obedient girl. It was so shocking when Pari started to lie to him, he sensed that Rita did every thing in totally wrong way. He wanted to keep his daughter under his wing. He wanted her to be strong. He kept telling her to act wrong. But she kept getting sick on every point. He was upset by all those things. He sensed one thing that he had it enough. He needed to put some right things in Rita. He was upset. He finally went back in room again. This time he began screaming on Rita loudly. "Will you stop treating her like baby?" He started screaming on her in such way that it should rise fear in her. At beginning these attitude used to scare her but not now. Rita screamed more loudly " I had it enough. Stop scaring me." " Really." Ramesh started coming near her. Without thinking much he slapped her. Pari started screaming loudly. Rita was so shocked. Ramesh never dared to touch her. But today he hit her. She began to feel pain and fear. She started calling for help. He began to call her murderer of their child. She was so shocked. She never sensed that he was carrying so much poison in his mind. Soon people from hotel came running for her help. It was so hard. Pari wanted to open door but she was shivering with fear. She couldn't move. But when she saw blood on her Mom's beautiful face, she suddenly felt anger rising inside her mind. She didn't have any other thought except that she wanted to punish her Dad for what he was doing. She ran to door and opened it. She started to telling them " My Dad is killing Mom. He is also making me sick. Call Police." In few moments all hotel staff took control of Ramesh who was screaming like animal. Rita was so shocked. She was feeling so much pain but shock was more than any pain. She never thought Ramesh was capable of such evil.
It was all so horrible for Rita. She saw hotel staff was calling Police. She loved Ramesh until now but on that moment she sensed that monster which was hidden inside him. She didn't want him near her or her daughter. Ramesh kept screaming for some moment then he suddenly began to come in sense. Ramesh " Rita you know me. I did it in anger. I never intended to hurt you. I love you so much. I can take swear on any thing that I will not do it again. But no need to involve Police in this things." Rita screamed on him even when she was feeling pains. " You will not do it again? I will not give you another chance. I have so many witness to prove that you hit me. I am not going to stay with you now. I want divorce from you." Ramesh gave strange laugh " And who will feed you and your daughter?" " I will manage." " Without job?" Then suddenly hotel manager spoke " You have to give alimony to your wife. You are not human. You are monster. Look at her face how could you hit her like that." " Ohh really!! Why did you feel so concern about her suddenly? Are you interested in her?" Hotel manager was so angry. Before he could say anything, one waiter punched Ramesh. Waiter " How dare you talk like that? First you beat woman in this hotel and now instead apologizing you are telling us she is having affair with our manager when we all know that your wife came here for first time." Ramesh suddenly became confused. Ramesh " Then it might be love and first sight." Every one was so shocked. Every staff from hotel wanted to kill Ramesh now. Hotel Manager was so happy when Police siren started to come. He didn't want his staff to murder Ramesh. Ramesh was not talking just about him now. He began to abuse every one. It was worst. Then Police came. Ramesh started to demand for lawyer. But when Police saw Rita's face, they just took his in custody. But he started to screaming for mobile. Then inspector told him to give him number and dialed it on mobile. Then he gave mobile to Ramesh. Ramesh called his Mom. Soon Inspector started talking. Inspector"What? Your son is mad." Ramesh started to look angry. He seemed to wanted to hit Inspector but other cops were near him so he kept quiet. Then Inspector asked " Did his wife know this? Ohh so you hide it from his wife. You need to come here with your lawyer and psychiatrist." Then Inspector turned to Rita " Did you know your husband have mental problem?" Ramesh began to scream " My Mom is lying. She wanted hold of my entire money. She kept criticizing me since she was always jealous of my abilities to get admired by people." Rita was shocked. " Who admired you?" " Every one did. You are senseless stupid woman. You never understand my brain. You feed even our daughter with that nonsense things." Pari " Dad gave me some syrup. After drinking it I start to fall sick." Ramesh screamed loudly " Shut up you idiot. Doctor told us to give it but your Mom was not ready. That nice Doctor gave it." " Which Doctor? Of course the one who admired your driver skill for giving her free lift." " So what? Is it crime to give lift? You have tendency to get jealous. You never understand women admire me." " No they don't she did it for lift." Ramesh started screaming on her. But Inspector told cops to took him to custody. Inspector " Did you know? Your husband is suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder." " No. Not at all. They hide it from me." Then they all went in Police station. Soon a psychiatrist came to examine Ramesh. When it was over, he came out. He smiled at Rita and started talking to Pari. Then he turned to Rita " Your husband is extreme case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I think your life must be becoming miserable due to it." " Yes. He kept abusing me. But he never hit me like that." " Since you always kept admiring him and don't taunt him much." " I tried my best but he was not ready to adjust at all." " Since it was not solution. In fact you are cheated. This person was taking treatment they had to warn you. Any way he was even giving some syrup to your daughter to make her sick and prove himself right." "What? Such shameless person!!" Pari was hugging Rita whole time. " That is specialty of these patients are shameless and don't have sympathy for any one. They just wanted admiration for themselves. To receive that admiration they could go to any extend." " Even put their own daughter's life in danger." Psychiatrist nodded. Rita " I don't want to stay with this man." " I will advise you same thing since you are lucky that your daughter was not harmed that much." Rita started calling her parents. Her Mom took phone. She told every thing to her. Her Mom " Rita come to stay with us. We will adjust with what we got. You must not stay with that monster." Rita started crying while saying "Thanks Mom." She told everything to psychiatrist and then Police. Police took her number and statement. Police " Don't worry Madam we will not let him come near you or your daughter." Rita gave weak smile. Then she returned to Hotel. She was so tense. She requested manager to book ticket for her and Pari. He agreed immediately. From that day she started her different life in which she had daughter but not husband. She had to take all responsibilities with help of her parents. She knew that Ramesh was rich so it was going to hard to fight with him in court. But she decided that she could do it since he didn't want world to know his sickness. He never disturbed his reputation. She knew that he would lie to people. He might tell them that Rita cheated him for another man and he caught her. He would not say she left her. He would say he decided to divorce her while she was requested not to do so while touching his feet. She started laughing. She knew his story but she sensed one thing that he would not want her in his life now. She hoped from heart that he would not disturb her. But she knew that he could kept coming for Pari. He was like that only. He always kept boosting everything he managed to bring in world and Pari was one of them so she sensed that she had to tolerate him sometimes. She prayed to God that he would stay in that Mental institution for longer time. She prayed to God that he decide to forget them. But somewhere in heart she knew that it was impossible he would return again. But she knew that she never let him stay with them.
