New students
Meena entered in her class room. She was teaching in this college for so many days. But at every year she felt same excitement from soul. She loved this thing of college life. That she managed to get new student on every year. She missed old one but when new one entered in college. She felt so much excitement. She sensed new energy. She started to make friendship with them. She tried to teach them new things. She always managed to find few bullies. She even liked to punish them. Some would improve and some would not. But still it was thrilling for her. She felt so happy while doing it. She loved those different thrills. She wanted those changes every day. She saw other professors They just hated it when kids started asking questions. They called it pestering after lectures but she just loved it. She didn't feel exhausted about it. She always discussed every thing at home with her husband Ramesh who also liked to listen to it and give suggestion. Even her kids were getting encouraged by it. She always hoped one of them might turn into professor on day. But she wanted her kid to do something big like becoming a famous professor in university. She started laughing to herself at that thought. Her kids had their own life. She always kept telling other parents didn't push their kids. In her heart she was doing same thing. She decided that she would give full freedom to her kids. So she entered in classroom full of new students that day. She looked around. She never expected perfect class since every class had some bullies. Her first talent was to locate bullies. Even her colleagues asked her as soon as she taught some class which kids were bullies. She didn't tag them. She tried to play soft on them. But normally whom she called bully they always turned out to be worst. She began to locate wrong kids. Then she started attendance. All kids seemed quiet okay. Some looked aggressive. But she couldn't find any trouble makers in them. She smiled happily since her last batch have lots of trouble makers. She still had hard time to control them. They were senior now so they were behaving lot better due to handling of professor. She kept continuous watch of them. It was group of five kids who used bully all. She hated it when she saw kid's acting this way. She knew that there were no more kids. They were grown up now. But still they were kids in her eyes. She knew that they didn't understand what was wrong and what was right in life. They just kept getting impressed by every thing. She hated it when kids started to get impressed by bullies around them and started to try it in college. She still remembered that day when she decide that those kids needed to be suspended but those kids came to meet her. They promised that they would no longer bully others. She kept watch on them. After that they started to just stay in their world. It was a lot better. She knew those did they used to harass simple girls and boys. But due to her interference it stopped. She knew that they were not improved but they were not at least harassing. They just kept taunting but other kids learned to ignore them which was important thing since it managed to break their spirit. They were no longer interested in harassing. Now they just stood in their group and kept taunting. But she knew that at beginning they even tired to lock some kids in toilets. She didn't know what was there proper motive in taking them near toilet since she reached there on time and stopped it. But she knew that from that day. Raju never did anything wrong in action. I mean as per my knowledge all your colleagues seem like nice men. How can person fall for girl of his daughter's age specially his student?" " I don't know what it is? I mean I know some one just called me and told me that this happened in new class. You remember Raju." " How can I forget Raju!! That boy had created so much mess. They were about to throw him away from college. You stood up for him. I still feel doubts about him. Did he do something? I just wish that only if you had not supported him on that time.." When she finally reached there, she was full of hope again. She started her classes. But she didn't need to think about new class until after lunch. But when she went in staff room for lunch, her colleague spoke " Meenaji I just felt one thing that this new class is strange. I feel as if I am talking with dumb." Another teacher joined it. " He is telling total truth Meenaji. Those kids never spoke anything. I don't understand what is wrong with them? They didn't answer even simple question." Every one who went in that class nodded. Raju " But I didn't call. My mobile is stolen." Meena sensed one thing that it was trap and she didn't want to blame any one at this point. Meena " Raju you can go." Raju " It must be call from that thief. Madam I think I need to file Police complaint." " I don't know. We need to ask principal." Raju nodded and went away. But then he once again came back. Raju " Madam I want that phone back. I don't want that stupid to call people on my name. I need to call Police." Meena " Raju stop for few hours. Principal will decide." Raju nodded and went away. She was so scared. She didn't understand what was happening but she sensed one thing she managed to hurt soul of her friend Arvind. She stood up. Then she tried to answer but she just couldn't able to say word without stammering. Soon she started crying loudly before class. Her friend started to counsel her. Meena was so angry with that person who wrote it. She went near that girl. " Why are you crying? That person who wrote it was culprit not you. That person need to feel shame and that one who saw it and still kept quiet." She looked around. Suddenly a boy stood up. That boy " I saw that boy but I don't know him. How can I tell any thing about it?" Meena smiled so she got witness. Meena " But you can recognize him don't you?" That boy nodded. But clearly that boy was scared. She immediately called Raju's Mom. " Did you took your son to psychiatrist?" " Actually he was acting fine so we thought." " He is not normal. But remember one thing he did all for those papers and it was wrong thing. " Then suddenly his Mom seemed to agree to every thing. Principal " We will give him college leaving certificate." Meena nodded. She looked at other kids. They were sad. But when they went out, she asked them " Who began this thing? I mean who suggested about taking paper from Arvind?" " It was Raju's idea." " You might feel sad about Raju but trust me. He was not good influence on you." Raju's friend " Actually Psychiatrist suggested same thing. Since she knew that before this batch Arvind never dared to do such things so Raju must had something wrong inside too. But she was not going to say this to any one. She sensed one thing that she needed to follow Pratap's advice now. She would not suggest that Raju should stay in college. She knew that his parents would not give him treatment so she didn't want to risk other students. She decided to keep heart of stone on that issue.

He even confessed his worst ragging. Meena " But what happened?" " Some idiot wrote a name of new fresher and Professor in heart on black board." " What? But how did they knew that professor? He must be from some tuition. But just tell me. That you will believe me. " " Yes I do. No one will blame you." " Thanks Madam. Bye." Meena was so tense when that conversation was over. That she just forgot to breathe for some seconds. Her kids came running to her. " Mom what happened? It was that bully Raju again!! Did he do something?" " No. Psychiatrist manage to control it. This is another problem." Then she looked at her kids and decided that she must not discuss this with those young kids. " Nothing important. Go and eat." She caught her breathe and started chatting. She wanted to avoid this subject. She knew that she had to discuss this with her husband but not before kids. It was so scary and wrong. She had to handle this with total care so she kept pretending smile for her kids. Those hours were worst hours for her. Her husband Pratap came inside house. He understood something was wrong. But he knew that he was not supposed to discuss anything. They had decided that they must discuss sensitive issues privately. But he could see that Meena was upset. He just wanted kids to go to sleep. He took deep breathe when finally both kids went in their bedroom. Then Meena sat for some time. She confirmed that kids were sleeping then she came out to discuss with Pratap.
Meena sat in chair before Pratap. Meena " Pratap this is horrible for me. Some one wrote name of girl student and professor on black board." " What? Why? Did they meet each other? I mean as per my knowledge all your colleagues seem like nice men. How can person fall for girl of his daughter's age specially his student?" " I don't know what it is? I mean I know some one just called me and told me that this happened in new class. You remember Raju." " How can I forget Raju!! That boy had created so much mess. They were about to throw him away from college. You stood up for him. I still feel doubts about him. Did he do something? I just wish that only if you had not supported him on that time.." " Just stop it. He did nothing. He just told me all. He said his psychiatrist advice him to do so." " Psychiatrist? Why?" " Actually he is improving with treatment but he felt scared that people might blame him." " No doubt. He was black sheep in everyone's eyes and I will not blame any one." " But today we are not discussing him. Stop entering in other subject. I want talking about new class." "Okay..okay tell me about it." " That class was so strange." Then she slowly explained every thing. Pratap started laughing. Pratap " You are creating issue without need. I feel it will fine when you will go in that class tomorrow and it will be fine." Meena was not convinced totally. But she nodded. She sensed one thing that Pratap was too tired due to his work's pressure still he was trying to cheer up so it was not moment to argue so she decided that she must leave it on tomorrow. She smiled. Meena " You are right. I might be taking tension without need." " So let's relax and go to sleep." Then he gave his cute smile. It was that smile which always managed to take away her tension. She always loved him from heart. Suddenly she began to feel that he was right. Everything would turn in right way tomorrow so she went to sleep peacefully. Next day she woke up by alarm. She decided that she must get ready. She started doing every thing fast. Morning was always hardest time for her. She had manage on all front. Even Pratap didn't have much time to help her. Since he needed to leave house first. Bus of his office came too early so he had to leave fast. Then she had keep kids ready with their lunch box. Pratap always managed to eat lunch in canteen. She was so lucky that Pratap was so cooperative. He had many times even tried to help her but she stopped it. Since she sensed that this way he would miss his bus then he had to walk long way and it was not wise decision. He didn't want him to hurry up on road in heavy traffic. So Pratap left first. Then kids got ready then she got ready. Finally she left kids with watchman who supposed to see that they would sit properly in bus. Then she took bus and went to college. When she finally reached there, she was full of hope again. She started her classes. But she didn't need to think about new class until after lunch. But when she went in staff room for lunch, her colleague spoke " Meenaji I just felt one thing that this new class is strange. I feel as if I am talking with dumb." Another teacher joined it. " He is telling total truth Meenaji. Those kids never spoke anything. I don't understand what is wrong with them? They didn't answer even simple question." Every one who went in that class nodded. They all expected answer from Meena. Meena had one answer but she was confused that if it was true. She couldn't trust Raju totally. He was not that trust worthy. But not telling them would look totally wrong. She was so confused. " Meenaji did you know something? Just tell us." " Yes Meena no need to feel shy." Every one started insisting. Then she slowly told them about Raju's phone. Other professors looked shocked then finally one Professor confessed " I heard about it." Then a male professor asked " Whose name was written Meenaji? " " Raju didn't know that." " Let's call him." Meena " But he was insisting that we must not blame him." " We are not blaming him. We want information from him. In fact we will forget his past if he acted in nice way this time." Then Meena called peon and told him to bring Raju. Soon Raju entered there. He was still like his old self. He looked arrogant and like some street harasser. Meena " Raju tell them what you told me last night." Raju looked confused. Raju " Last night? I don't call you last night." Now Meena was red with anger. Meena " Stop lying. I saw your number." Raju looked scared. " Madam my mobile was stolen in college. I had complained yesterday." Meena " This is convenient. Are you going to psychiatrist for treatment?" " No Madam I never do such thing. I am not mad." Meena was so angry. She looked around. She could see every one from staff room believed her. " Tell us did you lied." Peon was standing there. No one told him to go out. " About what?" Meena repeated whole story with anger. Raju " I don't know this." " But you told me this on phone yesterday." Raju started to look angry " Madam why are you taking revenge on me?" Then suddenly Peon spoke " But Madam it was truth. I have seen it." " Whose name was it?" " Sorry Arvind sir but it was your name." Professor Arvind started to look red with anger. He just threw away his mobile on table then he went in restroom to control anger. Raju " But I didn't call. My mobile is stolen." Meena sensed one thing that it was trap and she didn't want to blame any one at this point. Meena " Raju you can go." Raju " It must be call from that thief. Madam I think I need to file Police complaint." " I don't know. We need to ask principal." Raju nodded and went away. But then he once again came back. Raju " Madam I want that phone back. I don't want that stupid to call people on my name. I need to call Police." Meena " Raju stop for few hours. Principal will decide." Raju nodded and went away. She was so scared. She didn't understand what was happening but she sensed one thing she managed to hurt soul of her friend Arvind. She didn't want to see his reputation getting destroyed before her eyes so she decided that she must do something. She turned around. She saw same emotion in eyes of every person in staff room. She sensed one thing that they just needed one good sort of plan.
Meena was upset by this. Things were not moving the way she wanted. She knew that something was wrong. She just began to feel so stress. She needed to study every kid from that new class to find wrong kid. She looked at those kids. But she didn't guess anything wrong. Then bell rang. She once again entered in that class. She looked around. Those kids were looking nervous. She started teaching. She sensed that they all were studying it with full attention. She knew that they were not happy in their college life. She looked around. She slowly started to locating that girl who might be involved. She started looking around. Soon she located that girl whose eyes were red due to lack of sleep. Her friend was giving special attention to her. All girls who were sitting around her giving her sympathy so no one believed that scrap. But then some girls and some boys were even avoiding looking at her. But their eyes kept going towards her. So she was the girl whose name was written. Meena called her. Meena asked her question. She stood up. Then she tried to answer but she just couldn't able to say word without stammering. Soon she started crying loudly before class. Her friend started to counsel her. Meena was so angry with that person who wrote it. She went near that girl. " Why are you crying? That person who wrote it was culprit not you. That person need to feel shame and that one who saw it and still kept quiet." She looked around. Suddenly a boy stood up. That boy " I saw that boy but I don't know him. How can I tell any thing about it?" Meena smiled so she got witness. Meena " But you can recognize him don't you?" That boy nodded. But clearly that boy was scared. Meena " So you are scared of that boy. Let me guess. He was bully." That boy nodded. Meena " No need to go in details I can guess." Meena just went out of class for few moment. She immediately called Raju's Mom. " Did you took your son to psychiatrist?" " Actually he was acting fine so we thought." " He is not normal. We told you to take him to psychiatrist did you do that?" " No but he was acting so normal." " Did he come in college today?" " Yes. He went to college." Meena was tense now. She didn't knew what would be Raju's next plan. But she knew that it must be something regarding harming to Arvind Sir. She always thought that he would hate her. But it seemed that for some reason. He hated Arvind Sir more. She decided that she must call Arvind Sir as soon as possible. She called him. " Hello Arvindji where are you? " " Actually Raju told me to come in park. He would tell me everything when he reach there." " Are you inside park?" " No I am going there." " Don't go. He is playing some trick." " What kind of trick?" " I don't know. Just come back." " Okay." After that Meena went back in class and took both students in principal's office. When she started to explain every thing. Principal started to look upset. Principal " Last time we kept him in college. But this time he had to go." Meena " I know that. But I am more worried about Arvindji." " About him? Why?" " Last time he called him. I told him to come back." " You can call him again." Meena nodded but she just got engaged tone. She was so confused and upset. Meena " I think it is better to call Police." Principal was already calling them. Principal sensed one thing that they needed to handle Raju in strict way. She called Police told them every thing. Police officer told them that they would track them. That girl " That boy was scary." Meena " But he would not come here again." Principal " Yes I will make sure that he would not come near this premises." They waited for long time. But no one came. Then finally Police called. Police " We have reached there on time. Raju was trying to cut ears of your professor." " What?" " Yes. Our constable stopped him." Every one started shivering. Police " We are putting him in jail then we would see what we should do." " Thanks Officer. Just make sure he would't come here again." Then Principal disconnected call. She told every thing to them. When they started going out, suddenly Meena remembered Raju's phone. Meena " Did Police found Phone belonged to Raju?" " I don't know. But we need to go and identify Raju. I will ask them about it." Meena nodded and went away. Meena started remembering that voice of Raju. It was his voice. No doubt about it. But he didn't seem that mad. She just didn't understand why did he hated Arvind so much. She was the one who caught him. Then she started walking away.
When Meena was moving ahead, she heard someone was calling her. She turned around in hope that it might be Arvind and he would tell it all was joke. But it was students from Raju's group. " Madam Raju always felt nice about you since you stood for him. But Madam Raju was not behind it. He was not lying. He went to psychiatrist. " " But his parents told me that he didn't went to psychiatrist." Raju's friend gave strange smile " Since they didn't but I took him to my psychiatrist. You can talk to him, he will tell every thing to you and Principal." " But Raju tried to cut ears of Arvind Sir." " No. Raju never did that Arvind Sir must have tried." All those students started to shiver. Meena " Tell me every thing." " Well it started from first year of college. We were not good student but still we all wanted to get good marks. But we never thought it was possible. Until one day Arvind Sir come to us. He convinced Raju and if he obeyed him then he would give him papers. We all agreed. At first he told us to bring bag for him. We never thought what it lead to. We just thought small stealing would not harm us. But it did. After that he started telling us to do strange things. At beginning we were scared. But slowly we began to feel thrill in it. He slowly convinced us that it was act. We use to cut animal for him.." " No need to go in details so on that day in bathroom. What was your plan." That student started to look away. Meena decided that she had heard enough. Then she suddenly remembered Arvind came just immediately behind her to catch Raju. Meena " That was basic season why he kept telling that we must not keep Raju." " Yes and when you kept him, he started calling him again. Raju was willing to go at first. But I sensed that it was wrong. Raju kept thinking that cutting animal is normal like work of medical student. But my psychiatrist told me the difference. He told me that it is act of psychopath and it is Antisocial Disorder. It was risky so I talked with Raju. I convinced him to visit my psychiatrist. He started visiting him. My parents were paying bill Madam. If you want I will show them." " Then Police must had Arvind in custody. My god. My phone just managed to warn him." " Where is Raju?" " Let's go to Principal." Then Meena ran to students and Principal. She requested Principal to stop. She took those students to group photo of teacher. Meena pointed Arvind " Is this picture of that boy?" " Yes Madam. But he was not dressed this way." Principal screamed in shock " Professor Arvind!! I never thought that his anger was indication of such big thing." " He was not just doing it alone. He was dragging kids in it too." Meena told every thing to Principal. Principal turned to kids " Did he told you to do all? Why did you hide it before?" " Because we are getting marks due to paper he was giving us. We don't want to any one to know about it." Principal Madam turned towards phone. Principal " We must call Raju's Mom and tell her every thing. Meena nodded. Meena knew that this was going to be hard for them. Raju's parent were going to blame everything on them. Meena stopped there with patience. She could hear clearly Raju's Mom was cursing Principal. Finally Principal " Fine if you want we can give you permission to change his college. But remember one thing he did all for those papers and it was wrong thing. " Then suddenly his Mom seemed to agree to every thing. Principal " We will give him college leaving certificate." Meena nodded. She looked at other kids. They were sad. But when they went out, she asked them " Who began this thing? I mean who suggested about taking paper from Arvind?" " It was Raju's idea." " You might feel sad about Raju but trust me. He was not good influence on you." Raju's friend " Actually Psychiatrist suggested same thing. He felt that Raju was too greedy and he started even to enjoy those things so he needed long treatment. Psychiatrist few times suggested that I should avoid him. But I was too scared. Not of Raju but of Arvind Sir." Another friend " Yes he always hated when we try to break group. But we no longer want to stay in group." Meena nodded " I can understand. I will suggest Principal to split your division. Now whole blame would go on Arvind. But those students whom you ragged did they sense Arvind did it?" " No. He always stayed behind curtain. He even acted as savior sometimes." " We even suspected him sometimes but Raju never let us think. We want to stay away from each other now." Meena nodded. She knew that no one was going to tell truth to students. They just managed to create some nice story which would tell student and Arvind did some crime. Raju and his friends would become hero by exposing so they would be treated in nice way by other kids. Meena knew that no one needed to know truth. She was sure about one thing that none of them wanted to see face of Arvind again and in her soul she just wanted to get rid of this entire batch. Since she knew that before this batch Arvind never dared to do such things so Raju must had something wrong inside too. But she was not going to say this to any one. She sensed one thing that she needed to follow Pratap's advice now. She would not suggest that Raju should stay in college. She knew that his parents would not give him treatment so she didn't want to risk other students. She decided to keep heart of stone on that issue.
