Sandip's hard work
After working for hours finally Sandip decided to give his
work to next shift. He could see upsetting look in Pradip who was working as
next shift. Pradip “Come on look towards other people! They all ran away from
office as soon as possible & look towards you. You kept working day &
night even when you are not paid. You are so odd.” Sandip looked towards Pradip
with frustration. He wanted to teach Pradip importance of proper work. He
slowly pushed his specs properly over his nose. He wanted everything to be
perfect. He looked towards time & he sensed that he must not waste his
time. He was feeling so frustrated. He needed to complete his work as soon as
possible. But it wasn’t happening. He said slowly “Will you let me finish?”
Then he started work as fast as possible finally after 15minutes it was over.
He smiled & stood up. Pradip immediately sat in his chair. Then Pradip
started chatting on mobile. Sanip was so angry. If Pradip wasn’t planning to
work then why did Pradip forced him to stop? He wanted to work for more time. Sandip didn’t understand why did world had issue with his extra work. He knew
that working was good thing. Pradip just kept doing parties enjoying his life. Pradip was so stressed when he couldn’t able to enjoy his life. Sandip felt that
type of attitude was wrong. He wanted to lecture Pradip. But he looked toward
time. He needed to go home. He must catch his bus on fixed time. Sandip
immediately ran out of office with his bag on shoulder. Pradip gave him angry
look & then declared loudly “I was telling him to hurry but he wanted to
keep working. Now look towards him! Running towards his home like some
athlete of marathon. This man is strange I am telling you.” Pradip looked
around in office for support but no one was interested in chatting everyone was
busy in work. Finally, Pradip started his work too. Pradip didn’t understand
why anyone didn’t comment on Sandip. Then he sensed that no one really cared. Sandip was already running to catch his bus on time. He was so glad when he
entered in bus. He sat in chair of bus. He began look out of window. It was his
habit. Now he knew at what timing he would reach to his house. He had
calculated all. He was feeling so restless. He kept telling himself to just
relaxed. He was watching out of bus window. He was observing what was outside.
But soon he sensed that it was meaningless. He was just wasting his time. His
wife Anju was working hard in kitchen to cook food & handle all for his
children. He always felt that he couldn’t give happiness to his wife. He got
just small flat while other people purchased big house & bungalows. His
wife deserved better life. She was daughter of rich man. Anju fall in love with
him. He never understood beautiful & talented woman like Anju why did
decide to marry him? He never dared to propose her. He always tried his best
to keep friendship between them. Then one day suddenly one common friend told
him that Anju was interested in him. He was so shocked. He told shyly that he
didn’t have courage to propose Anju. That friend said no problem then soon Anju
proposed him & they got married. It happened in such a hurry that he didn’t
have any time to discuss or plan. Then soon their son Suresh was born so his
life was loaded with responsibilities. He never paid much attention to Anju
still she was happy with him. He was feeling it was so odd.
Bus conductor
was sitting in one chair. He was arranging all tickets. In his routine style he
began to look around bus. He normally kept reminding people to go down on their
usual bus stop. Especially when school kids came in his bus or elderly people.
But today he was shocked when his regular traveller Sandip didn’t stand up to
go down on regular bus stop. Bus conductor went near him & said “Are you
going somewhere else today?” he suddenly looked around & said “No…no ohh
did I miss my Bus stop?” “No issue we can still drop you here.” Then Bus
conductor called driver to stop. They immediately stopped. Sandip got out of
bus while thanking them. He knew that he came ahead from house. Now he needed
to walk back. This never happened with him. He was so tense. It was clear that
something was wrong with his mind. He could never miss things like that. He
entered in house. He noticed that Anju was busy in kitchen & children were
busy in their world. He knew that they all knew that he would come back on this
time but they didn’t care. He slowly said “I am back.” Suresh just looked
towards him & said “Dad life was never so difficult. I just wish only if I
can join some easy course. But they insisted that this one is essential for
better progress.” He smiled nervously. He asked “If you want you can change. I
mean you can move by your choice.” Suresh smiled happily. “You think that way.”
“I feel you need to do all in perfect way. It doesn’t matter what they say if
you do this in right way then you will sense get successful. Your concentration
& dedication is important.” Suresh “I just can’t concentrate on it but if I
change course now then I will lose some money…” “It’s okay.” “But Mom isn’t
happy about it.” Now he was confused. He didn’t want to do anything against
Anju’s wishes. He wanted to say something but before it his younger son Ravi
talked “Now Dad will back out! He will never talk against Mom.” Sandip started
to feel nervous. Sandip was trying so hard that he must not go against Anju.
Slowly Anju started to feel nervous too. Anju knew that she needed to permit
this change too. Her son wasn’t interested in this course. She was so happy
that she had husband like Sandip who had understanding & ready to handle
losses. She came out & declared “This time I will give up before your Dad
but Suresh need to promise his Dad that he would keep doing this course.”
Suresh nodded happily. Then Suresh began to do changes. Sandip went in kitchen
where Anju was cooking. He sat in chair. He began to feel so uneasy. He started
to sense that his kitchen was too small. Anju didn’t have any convenience. He
didn’t understand why did she kept tolerating him. He wanted her to complaint
but she was cooking peacefully. Then she started serving him dinner happily. He
slowly asked “Do you regret your marriage?” she smiled nervously & asked “Why
does I regret my marriage?” “Because you are living your life in worst way.
While your remaining family is so rich…” “I decided to marry you on my own
wishes. How many times I need to keep telling you this?” He didn’t say
anything. He just kept watching towards his fingers. She slowly came near him
& asked “What’s wrong with you? What happened?” “Don’t know properly but I
am so nervous.” She didn’t say anything. Then she slowly said “May be…I mean
maybe I am not forcing anything but what do you feel about visiting a
psychiatrist?” He was so angry. He screamed “Do you feel I am mad…” “No…no I
was talking about myself.” He gave her confused look. He kept watching her. She
looked nervous. Then she said “Just forget it.” She kept cooking. He began to
get nervous. He didn’t understand what was happening to him. He returned to
room. He started working on his office work. He began to work since he wanted
to complete attention to his work. Nothing else was so important for him.
Anju was
feeling so uneasy. She could sense that Sandip wasn’t normal. His behaviour was
changing day by day. He was getting so restless. Sandip was even having
nightmares. He was working continuously even in his house. She knew that he
wasn’t get anything extra due to that work. She was feeling so concerned about
him. She didn’t understand why he needed to feel so tense. They were not rich
but they had enough investment & she was very happy in her married life.
But his behaviour was starting upset her mind. It was so odd. He was feeling so stressed. He never belonged to rich family so she didn’t understand his
obsession towards luxuries. She didn’t want their boys to have habits of
spoiled kids too. She knew that Suresh was right. Suresh tried so hard still he
didn’t develop interest in that course. Suresh needed to work hard for hours.
She didn’t want her son to suffer now easily Sandip managed to solve it. She
loved the way Sandip cared for his family but in return she wanted to care for
him too. He was having nightmares. She needed to tell him that. But she was too
scared. She felt that might hurt his feelings. She didn’t understand which way
would be better. Sandip was pretending hard that he wasn’t paying attention to
her while he was watching her carefully. It was happening again & again. She
didn’t what she supposed to say. Sandip slowly came near her & asked “You
think I am mad! You want to divorce me…” She was so shocked. “I felt that you
are having nightmares so I told you.” She began to cry slowly. She began to
feel that he wanted to divorce her & want new wife. She began to feel that
it was reason of her getting upset. He was so scared now. “I felt you want to
leave me.” She screamed “Why?” “I don’t know. I keep feeling that way again
& again.” “You have lost your mind. After I loved you so much you think
this way! You keep working non-stop. Do you have affair with someone?” “No…no…I
want all to be perfect.” Slowly Suresh said “Dad you need to visit Psychiatrist
due to stressed!” Ravi added “What if he dies due to heart attack, what will
happen to us?” Anju screamed on him “Shut up.” But Sandip knew that all were
scared. Sandip said peacefully “Don’t worry. Take appointment I will visit that
Psychiatrist.” Anju immediately nodded. She already managed to collect
information about Psychiatrist. She immediately called. They got appointment
after two days. Sandip “It seem Psychiatrist have lots of patients!” Ravi “In
today’s world life is so stressful!” All started laughing. It was so funny to hear
Ravi a school boy saying it. Ravi said with sincerity “You don’t understand my
stress.” Sandip patted on Ravi’s back & said “Don’t worry. We might request
one free session for you.” Ravi smiled so happily. For Ravi that was special
gift. Sandip was so impressed his son was wiser than him. Ravi wasn’t
considering visiting psychiatrist inferior. Sandip decided to learn from Ravi.
He asked properly about appointment. Anju insisted coming with him. He agreed.
Then for two days he handled all fears. Finally, he visited psychiatrist. He
came with Anju. He couldn’t tell his fears before her. He slowly looked towards
wife. Psychiatrist “Will you sit outside?” She nodded. Then she went out
nervously. He began to tell all what he felt “I don’t know why but I kept
feeling that Anju married me due to some reason…” “Like?” “She might have
boyfriend who left her…” “Have you asked her?” “No…no.” “Let’s do it.” He tried
to object but Psychiatrist called Anju. Psychiatrist told his fear. Anju smiled
& said “No. He was my first love. There were some marriage proposals. But
never love was involved.” Psychiatrist turned to Sandip “Now let me tell you
why you feel like that. You have developed generalized anxiety disorder. Does
anyone encourage inferiority in you?” Anju “All relatives wanted to break our
marriage. No one liked it. They were jealous on that time. Even today they are
jealous. They have money but not love like me. Does they manage to destroy my
marriage?” Psychiatrist laughed. “Come on your husband came here out of your
love now he will be fine. So, they made your love strong. Don’t worry. He will
fine soon.” They both smiled & began to discuss what Psychiatrist told them
with full attention.
