Adventure story. 721. By his choice

                                By his choice

Samir decided that this time he would wear shirt he loved. He would ask no one about it. He was planning for days to have his own life but his life seemed that someone was interfering whole time. He told himself that he needed to be determined. He felt so nervous. He didn’t understand what was right & what was wrong. He wanted to feel confident. But he was feeling nervous. He began to watch his shirts in cupboard carefully. He knew that he needed to decide one. He was so excited since today no one was there to suggest. His house was full of people. He didn’t have any privacy. He felt so nervous. He began to tell himself that he needed to find one shirt. He started to find different shirts in cupboard. He was observing each design. He was observing each carefully. He kept looking towards properly at every shirt. He felt so scared to decide one. He knew that he needed help. If he decided wrong one his grandparents surely taunt him. He slowly called his father in office. He knew that his mom wouldn’t appreciate it. He kept calling his father again & again. He felt so negative about all. He began to feel that he had all worst shirts. His Dad took his call after sometime. “Dad so sorry to call you but I need to decide my shirt.” “Don’t worry. Open cupboard & take the shirt of second left.” He saw all shirts but he didn’t like any. Still when his dad suggested, he went & took out that shirt. It looked just perfect. He felt so shocked. He didn’t understand that how could he missed this one. He took out & said “This is perfect.” “Bye.” & his father immediately disconnected call. His father was such a nice man. He couldn’t stop admiring his father. His dad was best. When he came out, his mom immediately admired his choice. His mom declared that it was best. Mom “ I feel you need to select your shirt on your own just like your younger sister.” He was not happy by this comment. He said pointedly “Mom don’t compare me with that stupid girl. Look towards her! She is good for nothing.” His Mom looked around to confirm that his sister Shruti was not nearby. “Why did you talk like that about Shruti? If she heard it then she will feel so upset.” “Then why did you talk like that about me? I am taking advice of my father what is wrong in it? Why does you feel so insecure? You are not earning like dad that’s why you feel so angry when I admire him. Look at yourself. You are just a housewife. You never earn anything & even your daughter Shruti will not earn anything. I am the only person who will follow footsteps of my father & earn.” His mom looked so sad. Mom didn’t say anything. She just went in kitchen. He was so happy. If anyone dared to question his intelligence like that, he will surely answer that one in suitable way. He was positive when his grandmother came & gave odd look to his shirt. “What kind of shirt you are wearing? It surely need ironing. You need to select next shirt carefully. I don’t like its colour too. You need to use light colours they suit your complexion more.” He was so angry.  His grandmother was literally abusing him in his view. He said “I know what I need to wear. My complexion is wonderful. You don’t need to taunt me on it. Old woman like you suppose to take name of God not teach us fashion sense.” His grandmother didn’t look hurt like his mother instead his grandmother started talking loudly “People like you need to learn manners. You will not have any good future if you behave like that.” He felt so upset. He just went out of house. He knew that his father gave him like bank balance in credit card so he could surely spend it on himself. He would handle his grandmother later when his dad would come home.

              Shruti was listening to all. She felt so nervous. She immediately ran to mom & said “Don’t mention me when you are talking with him.” “I don’t mean it that way.” “I don’t want excuses just promise me that you will not mention me.” Mom immediately nodded. Shruti knew that she just needed to stay away from their issues. Shruti once again began to look in kitchen. She started to plan to cook something tasty. She wanted to ignore all comments by her brother. She knew that she was not so smart. She was not so intelligent. She needed to learn lots of things. Her mom kept admiring her. She gave sweet smile to her mom. She knew that she screamed on her mom without cause. It was so frustrating.  She was hoping for something positive but nothing went as per her wishes. She knew that Samir was feeling so negative about her since mom admired her. It was possible for mom to avoid it & everything would be fine. On that time Samir suddenly came in kitchen. Samir “ Grandma is getting so much arrogant. She kept abusing & targeting all.” She didn’t understand how did she supposed to react on this. Samir was abusing her just seconds ago. Now he was expecting her support to him. She just said “ Grandma is like that only.” & she continued cooking. But Samir kept talking “ You need to oppose Grandma. You must not permit people to bully you this way. It will be problematic for you. Why does you keep cooking to please Grandma? You know very well how did Grandma taunted you.” Shruti knew that Grandma kept taunting her time to time. She disliked those taunts too but Samir didn’t act nicely with her too. Samir was not different than Grandma in her eyes. She didn’t understand why did she supposed to argue with Grandma for him. Shruti just said “ I like to live peacefully.” “ You are not smart enough to get anything. How does you feel you can survive in your life?” Shruti decided to ignore him & continued her cooking. Shruti began to feel so positive. She knew that she didn’t need to compete her brother. She decided to just apprecitate him. She said “ I am so sorry but I can’t become like you.” Samir smiled & went away. Mom was watching all this. Mom didn’t say anything. Mom didn’t want to interfer. Mom kept feeling that Samir was not much smart but still he get appreciated without cause due to his dad. Mom tried to suggest it many times but nothing worked. Samir’s dad wanted to keep Samir that way. Mom wanted Samir to become indepent but his dad kept making him dependent. Mom was happy that at least this time Samir decided his shirt on his own. Sadly mom didn’t know that it was fake. Samir selected that shirt which dad told. Samir was just going to follow all his dad’s suggestions behind his back. He was not letting anyone to know about it. Samir smiled. He felt today he managed to do all as per his wishes. He felt certain that his future was bright.

         In office Samir’s dad was working. Samir’s dad didn’t even know which shirt he had recommended. He just told one location in cupboard. He knew that Samir would appreciate it. It was very important for Samir. Samir’s dad always managed to get things done. He kept discussing about them in such a way before Sameer that Sameer felt his entire life was going to become different. Now he knew that everytime Sameer believed him but not Shruti. Shruti always kept asking question. In his eyes Shruti was big problem. He wanted to married off her as soon as possible. But it was not easy. His wife loved Shruti so much. She wanted a nice education & wonderful husband for Shruti & his parents were also fond of Shruti. Especially his mother was most problematic. He knew that his mother was Sameer’s & Shruti’s grandmother so she could give opinion but her opinion were creating issues in their life. He wanted his mother to stop interfering in his life. He wanted to live separately but he didn’t since he wanted authority on that house. He kept feeling negative about his parents. He was slowly convincing Samir against his grandmother. He wanted Samir to start argument. It would be great. He was trying so hard. He knew that his mother had bad habit of taunting. He managed to convince Samir that Samir was wonderful son. He even started to convince Samir that Samir was only one who was taking responsibility. He was so happy that Samir was obeying him without questioning. This was important quality of child in his eyes. He felt that his children must not question him. But when he thought about his parents he began to feel that they were big burden on him. He felt that he deserved great respect & no one in world deserved it that way. After sometime his Boss came. His Boss asked him to submit his work. He gave file. His Boss looked so upset. His Boss “ You don’t have even little bit knowledge how did you pass exam?” Samir’s Dad just didn’t answer. Actually his dad needed to take special class to pass exam. He knew that his parents managed to invest lots of money in it. It was not easy to pass for him. Samir’s dad just ignored answering. Then after listening to lecture of his Boss he went back to work. Finally office hour was over. He began his journey to go back to home while giving one contract he already managed to get some money from that company’s customer. It was so nice. Samir’s dad knew that with this money he could boost a lot. He would tell different stories. He already planned to create different plans. He needed to impress Samir. But he didn’t know that Samir finally got one job due to grandfather’s influence but for Samir every credit went to shirt decided by his father. Samir came home & immediately began to admire his father for his job. His entire family was shocked. They just didn’t understand what was wrong with him. But no one dared to oppose him. No one wanted to hear drama which he would start. It was so frustrating. He started to think that he was not appreciated. He looked towards Shruti. Shruti just cooked few things in house but she got appreciated so much. He gave her angry look. He began to taunt her. But on that point father entered. Samir turned towards his father & began to admire him. Samir was feeling so positive about all. His father was very important for him.

          Samir’s father was so happy. Finally he was getting importance he deserved. His dad smiled happily. “ You are the only one who value me.” Samir smiled & went after his dad. His Mom was so shocked. Samir was doing everything which his dad told to him. Shruti was always targeted by them. One day finally Samir was told to go out of town by office. Samir was so shocked. He immediately rejected that idea. His dad didn’t objected too. Mom kept saying that this would lead him to trouble. But Samir didn’t care. Samir’s Dad was watching his dependence. Samir’s Dad was enjoying it. His Mom was so tense. Samir began to search jobs nearby but soon he sensed that he needed to shift. He came home in worst state on that night. He began to cry loudly “ I will kill myself. I can’t shift.” Entire family was shocked. His Dad began to abuse him. He was so nervous. He had never accepted his dad to act like that with him. He cried so much. He began to get depressed. He just kept saying that he couldn’t make any choice. Finally one day his mom decided to take him to Psychiatrist. His dad agreed too. Since his dad no longer interested in him, his dad began to dislike him. He was so upset. He slowly told Psychiatrist everything. Psychiatrist listened. That Psychiatrist explained that he had developed personal dependent disorder. It developed due to extra pampering by his dad. He felt so scared. His mom slowly asked “ Can we cure it?” “ Of course.” But his dad didn’t agree with Psychiatrist. His dad didn’t say anything on face of Psychiatrist but when they came out his dad began to complaint. Slowly Samir began to get doubtful. But his mom asked “ Do you want to take him to costlier psychiatrist?  Since he need one surely.” His dad didn’t argue after that. Then Samir kept visiting Psychiatrist slowly he developed his choice & opinion. One day finally Samir shifted for his job. He started his career. Now he didn’t understand why did he used to admire his dad so much. He respected his dad but he had his choice now. He was finally free from cage. He could decide what he wanted.
