Pradip's childhood
Pradip started to look out of window. He was expecting his old town. He was expecting old atmosphere. It was so interesting to see new changes. He stopped his car & came out. He began to look around. He decided to walk to that small old Bungalow as he used to in childhood. He wanted to see his well. In childhood he had some belief that if he threw some coin in that well an angel come out & follow him for at least 24 hours. He felt so positive about it. He remembered for getting good marks he always did it in school. He so excited to see that well. He was so sure that it would be there. But when he came out of car he sensed that plenty of things were changed around. He needed find way to that well. He didn’t understand how could he locate that house. He began to try to remember that name. He was trying so hard. Then he finally remember. “ Champank House.” He said it in loud voice & laughed. He always felt that it was strange such big house with grand look of old era had such simple name! He always tried to name it in grand way like some villa. But he knew that it never belonged to him. He never managed to get such money. Even today he drove in second hand car. Life didn’t give him that much. He still sometimes felt that one day he would become prince of that house. But he didn’t like name Champak. He gave countless names to it. But none of it seemed enough. He needed to search for it. He wanted to go to that house again. He knew that it was not going to change his destiny but still he felt strange desire. He was feeling so nervous. He wanted to see that house. He felt suddenly wind was blowing strange way. He smiled at his psychological impact. He knew that it was normal. In villages always wind always managed to blow freely. He came here just to enjoy wind. When he was sensing it suddenly his mobile rang. It was his wife Rita. Rita always did one thing that was complaint. Actually she was not happy with his financial situation. He knew that he was not rich. But he tried to explain her about it from beginning. But on that point she was just obsessed with getting married so she kept insisting on marrying as quickly as possible. She felt so stressed. It was upsetting. His life was not happy since he was not earning enough. But from beginning he never tried to show fake picture to anyone. In fact he kept suggesting that he was not interested in getting married at all. But his family insisted. He tried to avoid. Then slowly Rita began to ask for lift to go home. He didn’t have cook on that point instead he used to go to cafe. But she kept coming with him. She didn’t went cafe with other colleagues. Soon people started to avoid them. All began to think that they were a couple. It was so upsetting. He wanted all to come but they didn’t. She slowly managed to increase his attraction & in sometime he began to date her. He knew that he was doing mistake but nothing worked. He kept feeling getting trapped. Soon she began to insist on marriage. His parents also started to support same thought. Soon she became his girlfriend. Then his wife! But after becoming his wife she started demanding things. He was not from rich family. It was so frustrating. He knew that once again she was demanding something costly. He knew that it would damage his budget. But if he said no she would start screaming on him. He was so frustrated. He had no option so he stood on corner of road & took call. He started to listening to her. She began to demand more costly items. She kept talking . He began to feel so stressed. He couldn’t concentrate on her words. He just kept agreeing. Then finally she said “ So I purchase on instalment!” He was tense about entire conversation. He began to hear different amounts he might needed to invest. He began to create list of items. He knew that she had large list of items. But it seemed that she had just wanted one item now. He asked her “ How much it will cost?” “ Come on. One Air cooler can’t be so costly.” He didn’t say anything. He didn’t know anything about cost of those things. It was so upsetting. He began to agree with her. Then she said “ Bye.” It was over. She just wanted it. He knew that it would meant reduction in his purchases. She began to demand things every month. After it he couldn’t manage to purchase much. He would lucky to get that second hand car. Actually his Uncle wanted to sell his old car so luckily he got it. Even when he purchased car, she started to complaint. He knew that she was not wrong. This car was costly but he wanted to go back to his old village. He wanted to feel happy about it. He still wanted to feel happiness of once again connecting himself to his old village. He was so pleased to get back to his old memories. He was so happy. He wanted to go back to his village. He couldn’t always keep taking Taxis. He needed to drive his own vehicle. He was so upset by this. He was finding no longer dependent on Taxi for going somewhere. He was feeling so stressed in searching hired vehicles. It was so relief to purchase second hand car but after it. Rita started demanding things. He knew that she was too demanding but his car was too costly too. It was so frustrating. He knew even today he needed to agree. He began to relax. He told himself that he would manage budget. It was frustrating. But he could do all if he decided. His wife clearly deserved more money from him. He told her sweetly “ No problem honey. We will accommodate for you!” “ Not for me. For all family.” “ Come on you are my family. Aren’t you?” She began to laugh. “ You always know how to change my mood.” Yes he knew how to change her moods. But he didn’t understand how could he keep himself happy. He could spread happiness but he couldn’t make himself happy. It was really worst situation. Then their son started to scream so Rita disconnected call. He was happy about it. He wanted to find “ Champank House” & it was time to do inquiries about it. He needed to find way towards it. He was trying so hard to find some way to relax & that house was his way to relax. He started to feel like hero suddenly. He put on his sunglasses & went ahead on road in search of that house.
Rita began to get so upset. She knew that those jokes were just artificially created fun. She had two kids & still she felt that her husband was not in love with her. He was not having any affairs. But he needed to love her like other husbands loved their wives but it was not happening. She was sensing it on their every move. She always thought that one day she would fall in love with him. She began to get so restless due to it. She knew that she loved him so much that she ignored his all signals which were suggesting he didn’t love her. It was so upsetting. She decided to adjust with it but day by day it started to get impossible. It began to frustrate her. Now he got that car. He was wandering around world without her. He was clearly happy about it. She wanted to keep talking to him. But their son asked something & he immediately disconnected call. It was so frustrating. She wanted to say bye or she was expecting one love you from husband. She always said “ Love you!” & he always just laughed. He never said love you to her. It seemed as if he never loved her. She didn’t understand why she get trapped in this loveless marriage? She knew why. Since she thought that he loved her one day but he never did. She wanted to cry but she couldn’t. Her kids were watching her. She needed to keep smiling for them. She started to create perfect fake smile. She knew that she needed to handle it. She thought that she could manage to live life without love. She kept telling herself same thing daily. But she was not sure that it was actually going to happen. It was so frustrating. She needed to move ahead daily with smile when her heart was so hurt. She didn’t understand what was her mistake. While whole time Pradip was searching for that house. As he started to moving ahead. He sensed that he was not feeling hopeful about house. It was clear that this house didn’t exist. He was so angry. He was about to turn when he suddenly noticed one strange yellow flower near his feet. He was so shocked by it. He kept looking towards it. He knew that it was that flower which he used to see every day in childhood. He wanted to ignore it. But he couldn’t. He picked up that flower & he sensed that he did some mistake. He started to get upset. He began that feel as if something happening but he choose to ignore. It was not needed for him. He began to search for restaurants. He didn’t find any for sometime. They had lots of restaurants but nothing was like his childhood. They were all Pizza Hut or Starbucks or Coffee Day. Finally he gave up searching. He didn’t find anything like his childhood entire village vanished. It was like small town which was planning to turn in city soon. He knew that he needed to relax for some time so he went in one hotel. It turned out that this hotel owner was resident of old village. He managed to recognise Pradip by face. He smiled & said “ You were such nice obedient boy in school. I always remember you as angel for parents.” He smiled happily. In childhood he received admiration for his obedient behaviour. But when it came to earning, he didn’t have enough. So no one was admiring him now. He never wanted to live this style of life. He wanted to live happy life alone. He knew that by marrying he did big mistake. He totally lost in his thoughts. He didn’t sense that man was talking about something. Then that man tapped on his hand. “ Sir this is key to your room & don’t worry. We will give you lunch that remind you of old days.” Pradip smiled happily. Pradip went in his room. Even on this moment he felt as if something followed him. He slept peacefully in his room. Then suddenly he sensed something was knocking. He got so confused. He felt as if someone was knocking on door. He opened door & kept looking out. Then suddenly one waiter appeared. “What happened Sir?” He was so scared by sudden appearance of waiter that he was about to scream. But he controlled himself. Then he sensed that knocking was on window. He turned to window & said “ I thought someone knocked!” He turned back & waiter was gone. He felt so scared. He closed door. Then he turned back. He saw his food was proper kept on his table. He was so confused. He began to feel that he was in some horror place. He just wanted to escape from room so he ran to washroom. Waiter came out of bed. By mistake spoon was fallen under bed while Pradip was watching towards window waiter entered. Waiter did it so fast that one spoon landed below bed. Waiter went under bed to take it. Then waiter was shocked when he saw Pradip running in washroom. Waiter didn’t say anything. He decided to ignore it. Waiter began to set table properly. Pradip washed his face with water. Then Pradip came out. Pradip was so shocked when he saw waiter was there again. Pradip asked “ Where did you vanish?” Waiter smiled & said “ I went to take spoon.” Pradip nodded. But impact was already done. Pradip was so upset by all. He sat to eat. He looked towards window. He didn’t see anything now. Waiter said “ There are lots of birds out there who keep making noises. I can’t manage to keep them away but I try..” “ No..no it’s okay.” He just took breathe of relief. He knew that he needed to enjoy food & he started doing it too. He felt so nice. He began to think that he was living once again in past. It was wonderful feeling. He wanted to live in his past. He was so happy. Soon he began to see his childhood before him. It was his lucky day. Finally he landed back in his childhood. He did sense when he started laughing to himself. Waiter was watching all. Waiter came back with bill. But waiter decided that he didn’t want to disturb. It was clear that this guest was mad person. Waiter needed to manage all. Waiter didn’t want to reduce one guest so it was okay to attend mad man. Waiter took deep breath. Then Waiter went ahead with smile while pretending as if nothing was wrong. Pradip controlled himself. Then Pradip gave sweet smile & said “ I remember childhood.” Immediately Waiter nodded. Then Waiter presented bill & took money. Waiter went out. But immediately Waiter informed owner about Pradip’s odd attitude. Owner said “ He is just guest of few hours. He will went away by evening. Just ignore.”
Pradip kept thinking & laughing for long time. Then he sensed that he was laughing alone. He wanted to control himself but he couldn’t. He was feeling so restless. He decided that he needed to reach home as soon as possible. This room was not good for him. Then he suddenly remembered that flower. This flower was big trouble. He knew that he needed to go but he started to feel so sleepy suddenly that he went towards bed & closed his eyes & soon he started dreaming about his childhood & he just lost in that world. He was sleeping so long. He told Rita that he would come for dinner & while Rita kept waiting for him. He kept sleeping. Waiter was upset too. Waiter wanted him to wake up. It was so frustrating. Waiter slowly went to owner “ That mad guest is still in room.” Owner started to feel nervous. Owner “ But he just paid for one day!” Then Waiter looked outside & said “ Don’t worry. We have his car.” Owner was not happy. “ What if this car is stolen? Go & try to wake him up.” Waiter nodded & started to knocking on door. Pradip suddenly wake from his memories. He immediately ran to door. He started to apologise when he sensed that he was so late. He immediately packed bags & started to get ready to go. In sometime he finally checked out & Owner took breath of relief. Then Pradip sat in car. He began to start it but he couldn’t. His hand was not moving. It seemed like something was holding him . He started to panic. On that point Rita called. He turned his hand towards his mobile but his hand was not moving. His entire body was stuck in strange way. He was so shocked. He didn’t understand what was happening. He was sitting in that car without moving it. He couldn’t move. Inside hotel owner & Waiter were relaxed. They both thought that he left. Then Waiter noticed that few items were needed in kitchen. The cook was nice lady. She was Widow with two kids. He always tried to help her. He managed to his best. He began to create list of items. He started to plan different styles of food. He knew that would help them to get customers. He created big list & he went out of hotel. He suddenly noticed that car was still standing. He was so shocked. He never thought that situation wasn’t solve. When he came near car, he saw a man with wide open eyes looking ahead on driving seat. Soon he sensed that it was his guest Pradip. Pradip was looking so pale & so odd. He felt that Pradip was a dead body. He began to scream. Owner came running. When Owner saw this without second thought he called Cops. Then they waited. Finally Cops came after sometime. They opened door with efforts. They saw Rita’s missed call. But they first checked Pradip. He seemed okay physically. Cops were so confused. Then they called Rita. They told her entire situation. She was so scared. “ I will come there.” “ No..Madam we are taking him to hospital come there.” Rita agreed & took address. Then she booked Taxi without second thought. She told both kids to packed up few things. She called her Mom. Her Mom came immediately to take away kids. Then she collected her card & waited for Taxi. She let her Mom handle remaining things. Then she suddenly asked her Mom “ Do you feel this marriage is mistake? He never loved me!” Her Mom said nothing & she understood her answer. It was mistake. Finally Taxi came. She sat without crying. She didn’t say word. Finally they reached to hospital. She went inside. She told her husband's name & she was shown the room. It was not perfect hospital. She knew that she needed to shift her husband to private one. She preferred them. But she needed to talk to Doctor first. Doctor told her to sit down. “ Well you need to find Psychiatrist? Your husband have mental issues. I think he is in Catatonic Position. This happen in some mental disorder. Did your husband had mental trouble?” She couldn’t able to answer this. He was always aloof from her. He joked but they were just to compromise. She knew that all. Rita said “ He never showed much emotions.” “ Well it might be beginning.” Then Doctor gave her number & told her to admit in that mental hospital. She wanted to cry but she didn’t. She called that Psychiatrist. When she talked on mobile even on it she started to feel relaxed. She took appointment. She was so happy to find one suitable Doctor. Then on next Morning Pradip was shifted. Psychiatrist explained Rita about mental issue. She knew that he had. But now she sensed one thing that he didn’t love her due to this mental illness. She felt glad in her mind. Now she hoped that one day he might love her. She decided to start her new business. Her Mom contacted a friend for help. She talked with that friend. From that day she sensed she needed to earn for her family too. Her husband was sick. She went to her home. It was empty without kids so she cried to reduce her sorrow. She loved Pradip & he could have loved her back to if he was not mentally sick. She felt so sad. But then she controlled herself. She called her Mom & told happily about her plan of new business. Kids came home next day. She sat with them & told them all. Luckily they showed willingness to adjust. She took breath of relief. Next day she went to Psychiatrist with kids. She wanted him to explain kids all. Psychiatrist told all. Kids managed to understand & got encouraged. Finally her life started back. She knew it’s hard but now she would manage it. Since whenever for sometime she able to meet Pradip, she found little bit of love in his eyes which she never saw before. His face was showing more emotions now. She was happy about it. She knew one thing now. One day he would love her. She kept smiling with that hope.
