Savita’s freedom
Entire Verma family was on top of the world that day. Their daughter Isha managed to get admission in abroad. They all wanted to celebrate. Isha was not with them. Isha was already on airplane but still they decided to celebrate. They all booked one bus. They all were so happy. Isha was sister of two brothers. She was favourite to all. But now her brothers had their own families so Isha was no longer priority to them. Isha always felt that grudge towards her sister-in-laws so when they planned this picnic. She intentionally booked early ticket. Her Mom Savita felt so much angery. Savita said “ Why don’t you adjust? In this world everything is not about you!” Bu her father Dinesh said “ Enough! Why you need to blame her for everything? Your son never have time for us. Now their wives are creating just drama to show off their kids. I know we need to participate but don’t spoil her fun..” then Dinesh turned towards Isha & smiled. He said “ Go honey! Just go wherever you want to go.” Savita felt so upset. She knew that this was going to upset her daughter-in-laws but they all wanted wonderful relationship with Isha so they smiled & ignored. So they decided to go for this picnic without person for whom this picnic or celebration planned. Dinesh kept laughing on them. Savita sensed that he did all with intention. He always managed to create argument between family. Dinesh was not that much fond of daughter. He loved his sons but since his son started ignoring him. Dinesh began to use his daughter Isha to take revenge. Savita was upset but still she planned all. All family was happy. They went out to celebrate Isha’s success without her. They booked nice hotel too. They all entered in bus on that point they noticed one man. That man appeared like normal person but he kept watching Savita in strange way. Savita didn’t like it. Savita felt so happy when she sensed that her seat was far away from that man. She sat in seat on which this fellow didn’t see her face. All looked fine but after some time Dinesh decided to change his seat. She sensed that Dinesh was looking towards same man with interest. She didn’t understand why but Dinesh decided to shift on seat near him. Savita was so upset. Savita “ I want to sit in this seat only.” Dinesh screamed on her “ But I am not comfortable on this seat. Why didn’t you understand stupid woman! This seat is increasing my back pain. I wanted to sit in more comfortable seat. That one look comfortable. You don’t care for your husband at all. You want your husband dead. You just desire it & nothing else...” he began to abuse her. Finally she didn’t have much option. They were shifted on seat next to that man. That man immediately became friendly with her husband. He told him that he was astrologer. He told his name Kedar. Kedar started to explain that how did he understand future. He kept talking about his greatness. Dinesh was getting impressed while Savita was feeling irritated. She knew that Dinesh sensed that she hated this fellow but still he kept talking to him. Dinesh was looking towards her from corner of his eyes. Dinesh was clearly happy. Savita didn’t want to see future. She knew that it would start create trouble for her. She began to feel so restless. She started to sense that this Kedar was causing lot of trouble to her. Kedar began to look at Dinesh’s hand. Then he slowly started telling Dinesh about his life. She was so shocked. He told all perfectly. She didn’t understand how could he know so much. She was so confused. She started feeling so impressed. This fellow truly knew about future. But then she suddenly began to get scared. It was possible that this fellow came after background check. They had nice financial status. Every one knew about them. She didn’t like this at all but she knew that she couldn’t object. She felt so happy when Kedar told them that one next point his journey would be over. It seemed that he was native not from city. She was confused & scared. Kedar kept talking about future then he pointed towards Savita. “ This woman have different destiny. Her destiny is stolen by someone!” She gave him strange look. She didn’t understand his meaning. Dinesh started smiling. Dinesh was enjoying all. Dinesh asked “ She stole other’s destiny? Like witch?” She shivered with fear. She knew that Dinesh was doing this with intention to harm her. Dinesh loved it when she started to get abused by others. She never understood why did he hated her so much. But Kedar looked upset. “ No..no she is special one. She is born with power to correct all. But sadly someone stolen her destiny & she is stuck.” Dinesh looked furious. Clearly Kedar was admiring her & conversation was not going the way it supposed to go. She began to get stressed too. But her sons & daughter-in-laws started enjoying it. Some was considered special it was great movement for them. Her daughter-in-law “ No doubt! She is angel. After marriage I found my mother in her. She is truly special.” Other daughter-in-law “ Yes & she use to be so lucky but now a days her luck is not so great. She always seemed so stressed.” Savita knew very well where this conversation would go. Kedar would suggest some ritual. She was already got over exhausted by Dinesh’s rituals. He always forced her to do many things for them. She didn’t want more work. She smiled & said “ But my daughter went to abroad today.” Kedar made sad face & said “ It will not work until you don’t do all properly. She will come back soon.” Savita shivered with fear. She didn’t want it all turned into truth. Isha was problem child from childhood. Savita knew that it was easily possible that she might back out at last moment. She knew that she had one boyfriend. Savita knew that she wanted to marry him. But Dinesh was against it. That was another reason behind Isha’s early departure. She didn’t want her boyfriend to meet her. She was so tense. She sent Isha away. Then she remembered how did Isha went inside on airport. Isha was gone. She smiled & said “ I am sure Isha will complete her education!” Dinesh gave her look of anger & said “ I hope so. I don’t want that stupid girl to waste my money.” Dinesh changed his colour easily as he always did. Now he was no longer loving Dad of Isha. He just support people in their success whenever anyone fail he started abusing. Savita kept chanting God’s name to get courage.
Finally Kedar went out of bus. Savita felt so relaxed. She didn’t want that man. Dinesh gave her angry look. Dinesh “ Now I am sure that your daughter is going to runaway with that boy. Call her immediately.” Savita knew that Isha hated these type of inquiries. She knew that Isha wanted her to trust. Dinesh didn’t call himself. He wanted to Savita to call. On that point her granddaughter came jumping happily & showed picture. “ Auntie clicked photo in airplane.” She was dancing happily in bus. Her Mom was screaming not to act like that in running vehicle. It was so nice. Dinesh clearly looked disappointed. He wanted to hear argument between mother & daughter. But it didn’t happened. Savita smiled & said “ She is on airplane.” Savita was so happy. Kedar didn’t prove right. Kedar proved wrong. She wanted Kedar to stop telling future but he did. Dinesh insisted it & now she knew that it would destroy her present. She knew that she was in big trouble but for sometime her problem was solved. During entire travelling Dinesh didn’t say anything. She was so happy. She closed her eyes & counted numbers. She was doing this since first day of marriage. All looked so perfect when she decided to get married. Then she sensed that it wasn’t. She didn’t like Dinesh at all. On their first meeting he was acting too rude. He kept telling her how did she supposed to manage his home. He kept reminding her that it was his family & they were superior than her. She must respect them in every way if she did something disrespectful he wouldn’t tolerate it He was not sweet or understanding. Her mother-in-law & Her father-in-law kept chatting with her parents sweetly. They didn’t place any demand. But they were already giving her enough jewellery. She couldn’t think that they needed to demand. She was feeling so helpless. She didn’t want to sit with Dinesh in that room. She didn’t want to marry him. But her parents were totally impressed by his parents. She sensed that they were on verge of fixing marriage without asking her. She was so shocked. She never thought that they would fix marriage like that. She always thought that they would ask for her approval. But they started fixing it. Dinesh’s parents suggested that they needed approval. She was so happy. She thought that now she could comment. Then finally she came out with Dinesh. They all just asked Dinesh. Dinesh smiled & said “ I think it will be good match.” Then his parents went inside. His Mom brought sweets from kitchen. She was so confused. She didn’t understand it she wanted to stop it but soon she sensed that she had no option. She just took that sweet in mouth. She couldn’t insult someone without cause. She knew that saying no would be insulting. She thought that she could discuss with her Mom later. Then they all congratulated each other. Soon they began to fix date of engagement. She started to get restless. But no one was paying attention to her. She looked towards house. It was big nice but she didn’t like Dinesh. She was scared of him. She wanted a husband whom she liked. But she didn’t got chance to say anything. She began to sense that it was getting stuck in this. She couldn’t able to say anything but when she returned home. She began to cry in her bedroom. She told her Mom again & again she disliked him. But her Mom kept saying that it was normal anxiety before marriage. Dinesh was perfect. She was so tense. She kept crying. She slowly went in past. She began to cry slowly. She was in bus. She was hiding her tears. On that point out of window she saw him first time. He was her dream boy. She knew that he was too young. But he smiled towards her. She was so shocked. She was so confused. She started to feel so happy. She knew that it was wrong. She was grandmother but then she sensed something was wrong. She was feeling as if she was becoming young again. She began to feel different spirit inside her. She suddenly opened her purse. She knew that she didn’t have make up set. She suddenly turned back & called her daughter-in-law. “ Nisha do you have your make up box?” Nisha felt confused. Nisha smiled & said “ Mom you can’t do make up in this moving bus. I will do touch up when we get to hotel.” “ Just give it to me!” Savita said so sweetly that Nisha couldn’t say no. Dinesh gave her angry look. Dinesh “ At this age you will not look young due to make up!” She ignored him. Then she took make up box from Nisha. She began to do make up. She did all so carefully. She looked at herself in mirror. She was so young. She was looking so full of life. She smiled happily. She began to go back in her old college days. She was no longer in that bus with Dinesh. She was old confident Savita. She started to look towards Dinesh with angry expression. “ Will you move that your hand? It is hurting me.” Dinesh screamed on her as loudly as possible. “ Stupid woman. If you can’t manage to sit in this seat due to your extra fat then go back to old seat.” Normally she would start crying on this point. But today she sensed different energy. She screamed “ Look at this elephant who is calling me fat! Come on. Move back. I will sit on my seat. I don’t like this seat. I am not fond of astrologers like you. I believe in myself not astrology.” Her entire family was watching this with shock. She never spoke like that with anyone before. She sat on chair & she started doing makeup peacefully once again. She was different now. She felt so free. She suddenly sensed that her life was no longer restricted. She felt so happy. She started singing happily. Her grandchildren soon joined her. They all started singing happily. They began to jump with joy. It was so wonderful. Savita felt that she was finally out of cage. She started to enjoy rhythm of her positive thought. She started laughing & smiling.
Dinesh was watching all. He sensed that his control over Savita was reduced. He wanted to control her. He married her just for that purpose. He knew that she was going to reject him. She was not impressed by his wealth & he didn’t like it. He knew that woman were not permitted to say no to man easily & Savita’s parents were literally under his parent’s thumb. He wanted to control her. He enjoyed cutting her wings. She was trying so much to fly. He didn’t like it. He needed to control her. He was so upset by her attitude. Her angry eyes tried to challenge him. He was so angry. He needed to punish her. He decided that he would do it. He married her for that purpose & it worked. He kept her under his thumb until now. But today suddenly everything was changed. He stopped that Kedar just to upset her. In fact he knew that Kedar was going to upset her. She hated astrology. She didn’t like it. But then she suddenly began to act strange. He saw that she saw someone out of bus window. He tried to look out of window. He kept watching but he saw no one. But he noticed change on her face. It scared him. She seemed like possessed by someone. She began to act so bold. Now she was singing so loudly. He didn’t understand what happened. Then he decided to go to sleep. He thought that she would be fine in morning. When Savita woke by sun rays she felt strange energy in her. She sensed that they were near hotel. She began to look out. She saw that hotel & began to scream with joy like child. “ Wow look at that hotel.” Nisha was so happy. She booked it. She was always concerned for her mother-in-law. But today Savita looked so happy & normal. Dinesh was totally upset by this. He wanted to control her. But she was different. Then they came out of bus. Savita was dancing with joy. At beginning all ignored but then they started to feel that difference too. She was happy so they ignored it. Savita began to feel new energy. She began to sense that finally she didn’t care. Dinesh was screaming but she didn’t care. Then she went in room. She saw all her dresses. They were so old fashion. She found money & started to go out. Dinesh “ Where are you going?” She smiled & said “ In market.” Dinesh was shocked. He knew that she loved shopping but she never dared to empty purse since their marriage. She always asked him before spending his money. He made it clear on his honeymoon that money belonged to just him. He was so upset. He tried to scream on her but she was literally vanished. He immediately ran to rooms of his son. He began to narrate all to them. They all looked confused. But they didn’t say anything directly. Finally Nisha said “ Mom is acting little bold!” Dinesh screamed “ Just bold! This is understatement of century.” His son interrupted “ Dad you are overreacting. She seemed fine before..” “ Meeting that Kedar! Do you feel your Mom know him?!” They all began to control their laugh. Dinesh himself sensed that it was impossible. Kedar was unknown man of village. Dinesh “ He might be some evil wizard etc..” “ Dad these are superstitions. Mom might be having some nervous break down. Isha’s issue stressed her.” His son stopped in middle of sentence. His son looked so shocked that he couldn’t speak more. Dinesh turned & saw Savita was wearing a costly shirt pant. She was riding on horse alone. A man was literally running behind her. It seemed that this man was horse owner. Savita was horse riding & entire road was watching it as if it was some circus. He never saw Savita this way. Dinesh “ You are right. Your mother is losing her mind & if we don’t stop her soon she could lose her body parts too..she is riding horse without training.” Nisha “ Don’t worry Dad it is pet horse.” Dinesh “ Really! Are you sure that after falling from it your mother-in-law wouldn’t break her any body part?” By this time they all were on road. They were telling Savita to stop horse. But she was laughing & enjoying. Savita was feeling so young. She wanted to ride horse for such long time. But no one permitted her. It was her dream after reading book of brave horse riding warrior! She wanted to ride horse. She wanted to learn it. Today she went down to purchase clothes. She was feeling so young. She saw a horse riding woman on poster & she decided to go for it. She went inside & in few seconds she came out with perfect clothes then she immediately hired horse. Now she was on top of the world. She didn’t care about anything. She was that horse warrior. She was no longer Savita. She was so happy but suddenly someone took hold of horse. She saw that it was Cop. “ Lady are you out of mind? You can’t ride horse like this on road.” She suddenly came to her senses. She was not warrior & it was not field. She was on Main Street. She immediately apologised. “ Sorry officer I was trying to turn it to fields. But..” “ You can’t control it.” Officer completed sentence. “ This happens with tourist. Come down.” Savita came down. Immediately her family came to her. Her son offered some compensation. But officer said “ It’s okay. Just don’t let your Mom wander like that.” Dinesh gave Savita angry look. But Savita was already in her world. Dinesh sensed that she didn’t understand in his word. Dinesh “ What are you looking at?” She didn’t say anything. She just pointed towards helicopter & said “ I wanted to fly.” Her smile managed to scare him. Something was wrong with her. Dinesh told her to go in hotel room & called Doctor. He told every thing to Doctor. Doctor “ This is result of your behaviour Dinesh! She is having nervous break down. Now how long is your vacation.” “ Two days.” “ Great keep eye on her & I send you number of psychiatrist. Take her to his immediate.” Dinesh agreed. Dinesh had no option. He was so scared. He immediately called psychiatrist with hope of some medicine. But psychiatrist denied. “ I give you emergency appointment. I can’t give anything without checking her.” When Dinesh reached in room, Savita was drinking wine. She was drinking without second thought. She didn’t even know how to drink it. She was acting like she was in some movie. Dinesh was so tense. It was not easy to control her. He took breath of relief when she finally slept. He called his sons. He told them all.
Next day Savita was okay. She was feeling normal. She was no longer young. Her head was paining too much. But they all decided to skip vacation. She knew that it was right decision. She could sense that impulse still inside. She didn’t know how long she could control it. She kept listening to music whole time to divert her attention from doing irrational things. She was so scared. But when they sat in bus once again her impulse won she started singing loudly. Luckily other passengers were friendly they joined. But Dinesh was so tense. Their life was scary film until they didn’t reach to psychiatrist clini Psychiatrist talked with Savita & Dinesh. Then he told Dinesh to go out. After sometime he called him inside. Then he prescribed some medicine to Savita. Dinesh asked “ What happened to her?” “ She is getting depressed due to entire situation. She was not some punching bag for you that you keep throwing your fit of anger on her. Now she was started to imagine new world for her peace..any way after counselling & medicines she will be cured.” She felt so nervous. But Dinesh didn’t argue this time. Savita slowly asked " Did that Kedar did this to me?" She didn't want Dinesh to think she blamed him before psychiatrist. Psychiatrist smiled & said " He just instigated by pointing someone was stealing your life & opportunities. He didn't do it. Person who stole them to boost ego did it." Psychiatrist gave angry look to Dinesh. She just nodded. She went home. She took medicine. She slept peacefully. She sensed one thing that she was sick mentally. She needed to give time herself to cure. She began to sense that she could become young in heart. But she needed to find proper way for it. She began to decide positive things that she could do next day. She was tense & she knew that she was not normal but she knew that she would fight back this nervous break down. But on that day she decided one thing that she would not share bedroom with Dinesh until he didn’t learn to control his anger. At beginning he objected but then when she insisted with anger he gave up & she slept peacefully first time in separate bedroom.
