Attacker near home
Rucha came back from office. She knew that she was late. But she could convince her landlady nicely. Truthfully this office work was getting problematic. They kept working hard then in evening someone decide to throw some party. Clearly many people drank and she was one of them. She took limited but still whenever landlady smelt it then she began to get upset. She stared to think that she was spoiled girl. Landlady looked so upset. It was so strange. Her son kept drinking every day in home but this lady didn’t mind. Rucha decided to point it out when she would question his drinking today. But she was not sure if it was right or wrong. That landlady objected drinking when she gave room. She made it clear that she didn’t want her tenant to drink. But it was not right. If someone offered free drink it was impossible to say no in Rucha’s eyes and she was not even doing crime. She told her friend to drop so no question of drunk driving. She never invited anyone in her flat so no question of breaking rules of decency. But truthfully landlady couldn’t be sure. Rucha couldn’t help smiling. She felt that last tenant was not good one. One woman from nearby Society was telling her that last tenant always used to come with different man every night. Rucha knew that landlady couldn’t able to threw her away since she took big deposit and rent was big one too. She felt that landlady even took it in advance. Even in her case she was asking for rent in advance for six months. But she agreed to just three months. Her landlady was greedy so she kept taking money without checking anything then she kept complaining. She had four flats. She was staying in one. One was given to her and two remaining were empty. She knew soon someone would come and settle. She just hoped that person would be normal human. She didn’t want anyone like her last tenant. She wanted to live normal life. She was walking towards her room when she sensed that someone was following her. She turned behind. She was shocked to see man in black suit. That man was far away. She didn’t recognise him properly. She kept looking at him. She didn’t like him. She didn’t understand why did a man was walking around her flat. Actually her flat was located in Society surrounded by commercial shops. She didn’t see anyone travelling around it in night. She first time sensed her vulnerability. She was drunk not totally but she was drunk so this man could easily overpower her. She didn’t even able to see his physique properly. Rucha was so confused. She didn’t even able to see his face properly. She was too much drunk. But she remembered very well that she didn’t drank that much. She was feeling so upset. She started to walk as fast as possible. She didn’t want to make noise but she suddenly dumped herself in parked car. She was so hurt. She screamed loudly. She saw immediately light of landlady and her son’s room were on. Soon they all came. She didn’t want it to happen. But she was hurt and in pain. They came running. Landlady “ Did you drunk so much that you dump yourself in this car?” “ No..no there was a man.” She started to point out but when she turned she sensed that he was vanished. She didn’t understand how could he ran away so fast. She was so confused. Landlady began to look toward that side too. Landlady “ No one was there. You are drunk.” Then her Son pointed towards her. “ Mom she is hurt bring first aid box or maybe we should call Doctor!!” Landlady looked towards her stomach. Her son was right. Her stomach was bleeding she didn’t understand when did this happen. Landlady pushed cloth on her wound and screamed “ Forget Doctor call ambulance. She is seriously hurt.” But Rucha was confused. She was so sure that someone was there. But now she could see no one was there. Soon ambulance came. She was taken to hospital. Her landlady Kamal and her son Dinesh went with her. They made payments. Kamal was so frustrated. Kamal “ Now our entire night would be wasted because she got drunk and dumped in parked car.” Dinesh “ Mom she is hurt if you don’t do this she might die and it would be more horrible.” Kamal nodded. Soon Cop came there. Kamal told entire incidence. Cop “ So you was drunk and hit car!” “ Yes.” Cop “ She is regular drinker!” “ Well she always drank but she never drank so much as on today. She was seeing person.” “ Person?” Dinesh “ Yes she pointed out in air and said a man was there. But we saw no one.” “ Did you went in that direction and searched?” “ No officer. She was bleeding. I can’t keep Mom alone with her. I needed to call ambulance and bring first aid box.” “ So it is possible that man might had ran away.” Now Kamal shivered. Kamal never thought that way. She always thought that it was imagination of drunk woman. Kamal began to shiver now. She felt suddenly a strange fear in her soul. It was frustrating. She didn’t want any harmful man near her house. She was sure about it until now but now she was scared. She began to feel upset. She looked towards her son Dinesh. Dinesh was totally in denial mode. Dinesh “ She was too much drunk. That’s all.” “ But what if there was someone? She is hurt!” “ But you saw she dumped in car!” “ I don’t see it actually. First she screamed then I came.” Cop “ That’s it. You need to do careful. It might be someone.” “ Then you must catch him.” “ How could I catch him? You don’t have description.” Dinesh was so frustrated. Cop managed to scare his Mom but Cop was not clearly planning to catch thief. Dinesh “ What about foot prints?” Cop started laughing. “ This is not movie. This is clear life. We don’t live in no man’s land. There will be thousands of foot prints.” Kamal “ Officer what about Police protection?” “ Madam there is not any clear evidence I was just guessing.” Dinesh screamed in anger “ And you are scaring my Mom.” Cop started to get angry too. But Kamal interfered “ Sorry officer he didn’t want to scream like that but he is scared. Please don’t get upset.” Cop looked angry but in few minutes he controlled his anger and said “ It’s okay. Keep my card call me if needed.” She smiled. She kept his card carefully like precious diamond in her purse.
When Kamal came back she was scared. Dinesh sensed it. He was so upset.This officer managed to scare his Mom without cause. He didn’t understand reason. It was so confusing. He knew that he was protecting his house his best. He was staying with his Mom. Their house was big so he never needed to find another flat. He didn’t want to force himself on Mom so he asked her once that did she want him to shift. She just rejected idea. But she wanted him to shift after marriage. She tried to introduce him to girls with hope that he would decide to marry. He met them but they were not as he hoped. He wanted a simple girl. They had ownership of entire building. Those girls were dreaming to break his building and started to dream many things. He didn’t have so many ambitions. But those girls had lots of ambitions. It was clearly upsetting for him. Since he sensed that those girls were using him as ladder to fulfil their ambition so he said no to them and he kept searching for his dream girl. Finally he gave up. He was happy here with Mom. She was always his big support. He didn’t want to get married just to show off public. But he knew one thing that his Mom always managed to get scared on every small provocation. He didn’t like when someone instigated it. If normal person did it, he always managed to scream on them. But it was problematic. Cop was warning. Still he began to act with anger. He was possessive about his Mom. He didn’t want anyone to hurt her. Today she was so scared. She was looking out in night. They were going back home in middle of night. Cops kept lady Cop for Rucha before her hospital room. Her family was called. They would came by next day evening. Cop told them that he would arrange all. Clearly Cop didn’t seem to trust them much. Dinesh began to feel that this Cop might started to think that they were lying. It seemed as if they felt that they hit Rucha. Kamal closed every door and window carefully. He knew during entire road she was watching behind to confirm no one was standing there. He smiled and said “ Mom no one was there. She was just too much drunk.” Kamal smiled and she nodded. But her hands were not steady. She was shivering with fear. She began to feel so upset. She started to sense her emotions. She wanted to cry but she kept smiling. But Dinesh knew his Mom very well. He sensed her feeling. He didn’t understand why did this cop scared them. He was about to say that no one was there when he sensed, someone was there. He began to go but Kamal took hold of her son’s hand. Kamal “ Don’t go.” “ But we can’t let someone walk around like that!” Then in few seconds door bell rang. They shivered. Then voice came. “ Auntie are you inside?” They sensed that it was another tenant. They had given flat two weeks ago. Kamal immediately ran to door and opened it. Trupti was looking confused. Trupti “ What happened?” Kamal spoke without thinking. Kamal “ Someone attacked Rucha?” Dinesh was so frustrated. He knew what would happen next. This tenant ran away without second thought on next day. He didn’t say anything before tenant but he needed to argue with Kamal about it afterwards. They needed this money. Trupti shivered “Who?” Dinesh “ Nobody! She was drunk and she was saying something she saw. Cops assumed it true and managed to scare Mom. Few minutes ago you were walking we thought it is that culprit.” Kamal “ But you said it is man. You can’t call her man.” Trupti looked upset. It was taunt to her beauty. Dinesh “ Mom I never said MAN. I said someone is there! I saw no one. Thanks to you. I felt scared too.” Trupti gave nervous laugh. “ That girl got drunk and destroyed our night. I am pretty sure that nothing is wrong here. No one was here. It was just her dream.” Mom nodded. Mom was clearly nervous. Dinesh was scared that Trupti might decide to stay with them. But luckily Trupti didn’t do anything like that. Trupti looked around and asked. “ Do you have one lock?” “ Lock?” “ Actually my window is opening again and again so I want to lock it.” Kamal smiled and nodded. But Dinesh didn’t like this. Dinesh felt that they needed to grill those windows. Dinesh “ Which window I will grill it?” Trupti got confused. Trupti “ Actually it is grilled but I want to take extra precautions.” Dinesh started laughing. “ You are acting just like Mom. She is scared of everything.” Trupti laughed. She took a lock from them and went away. Dinesh turned towards Mom as soon as he sensed that Trupti could no longer hear them. “ Mom don’t increase those gossip no one was there.” Kamal nodded. They went in room. That night for first time Kamal didn’t able to sleep. Kamal never suffered from sleepless nights. She always used to sleep peacefully This was something unique and disastrous. She kept feeling so upset. She started to feel her head was heavy. She began to sense that her strength was reducing step by step. She never suffered this way. She told this to Dinesh. Dinesh made sad face. Dinesh “ It is due to yesterday’s night. You can’t sleep properly but you can sleep tomorrow. Even you can sleep in afternoon. In fact I feel you don’t need to cook dinner I will buy something.” “ No..no it will be not that healthy.” “ Come on Mom. It is healthy. You need to stop getting scared about everything.” Kamal smiled and nodded. She knew that they used to eat many times in restaurants. Now they just didn’t have time for it. Then she went in kitchen. She cleaned pots and went to sleep. She was woke up by screams. She didn’t understand from where those screams were coming then she sensed that they were coming from road. She ran out. She saw Trupti was on road and man in suit was running. She screamed loudly. Then she woke up from her nightmare. She looked around luckily no one seemed to heard her. She took breath of relief. But she sensed one thing that something was wrong with her sleep.
Dinesh went in office. But he knew that there was not much work. He was sure that soon his factory was going to get closed. He knew that he was going to be jobless soon. But he didn’t care that much. He had financial security due to those flats and he didn’t have much luxurious demands in life. He managed to live his life happily until now. He was sure that his future was secure too. But he didn’t like the way Kamal was feeling. He kept getting tense. He didn’t understand why suddenly his life was so confused. He knew that Rucha was drunk. He decided to call Rucha and confirm everything was fake. Rucha didn’t took call for long time. Finally her family member spoke. He introduced himself. Her Dad was on mobile. He was talking very nicely. Her Dad explained that she was hallucinating due to drinking habits. Her Dad “ It will be favour on us if you keep her back in flat?” “ No problem! But she need to be careful regarding drinking.” “Don’t worry she is going to rehabilitation.” Dinesh felt so happy. Now he could explain to Mom finally all was going to be over. Dinesh started working. He knew that it was not going to help him in earning still he kept working. Then finally on decided time he went back home. He worked there because he liked working. Truthfully it was not giving him much money. When he went back, he saw Kamal’s face and sensed everything was not fine. She was looking so pale. He felt for sometime was wrong. “ What happened?” “ Nothing..Actually when I slept in afternoon I got nightmare.” “ This is happening since you are thinking too much about that alcoholic Rucha.” His line shocked Kamal. Kamal knew that Dinesh was drinking daily too. Kamal “ You are talking against drinking!!” Dinesh sensed taunt. He knew that she was right. He was drinking daily. He didn’t sense when he developed this habit. But he needed to quit it too. He ran in his room. He began to look around his room. His life was so confused. He liked his freedom and his work was something nice he liked. He knew that soon it was going to be over but he knew that he had enough money to survive. He was comfortable in his life but still he was not as happy as he wanted. He had his own set of troubles. He was so upset sometimes. People kept taunting him regarding his every choice. He never harmed them or did anything against them but still they kept taunting. He didn’t want to face those people but Kamal needed to go in public gatherings.It was wonderful according to her. Kamal was no longer acting normal as once she use to. He didn’t understand cause of trouble. Sometimes he felt health so he took her to Doctor. They did complete check up. They declared that she was fine. It was so hopeless. After it he started to get more upset. He knew that something was wrong with her. He began to get tense. His Dad used to drink but he never showed much interest. Still step by step he started to show interest. He began to drink daily. He didn’t go out. He just kept drinking in room. He was ashamed of his habit. But he didn’t understand how to control it. Sometimes he felt that he might need to go to rehabilitation too. But he was scared. He didn’t want people to know. But he knew that every one knew about his drinking habit. Dinesh “ Mom what did you feel? I don’t want to quit drinking?” “ It doesn’t seem like that. You are increasing it instead of reducing habit.” Dinesh felt so scared. Dinesh “ Then I need Doctor.” Kamal smiled happily. Kamal felt that finally her trouble was coming to end. Kamal felt relaxed. Kamal asked about dinner. On that time Dinesh sensed that he forgot to buy dinner. He kept feeling restless for entire day. He totally forgot. “ I will bring now. What did you want?” Kamal smiled happily and gave him list of items. Dinesh went in market. He brought all. They watched TV together while enjoying dinner. Then they started relaxing. Once again Dinesh went in his room. Kamal sensed that he was drinking again. She went on Internet and started to search places of rehabilitation. She was searching for them when suddenly she sensed that everything was turning blank. She felt so happy. Finally she was falling asleep. Trupti was very careful. She locked window and door everything. Trupti was watching daily. Kamal was going out. She took flat just to record it. She wanted to show it as news. It would be so interesting. A normal woman went out daily after changing clothes as man. It was interesting but after attack on Rucha it became scary. She was so confused. She couldn’t decide what would be best. If she did story on it, she was so sure on success but if this woman was psycho killer then she must inform Cops. She slowly started looking down. Once again Kamal was in suite. It must belonged to her husband. She was pretending as if she was man. She kept wandering around for sometime and normally she returned home. But last time incidence with Rucha seemed like first violence in her case history. Trupti saw all even recorded. Drunk Rucha was little imbalance. Rucha was going ahead when with intention Kamal dumped in her. On that point she didn’t sense that she hurt her. But Rucha screamed. It was shocking that after it in such small time Kamal was back in normal clothes. She heard many times stage actors do it but she never saw it. She couldn’t believe it. Today once again Kamal was out. Kamal was in same clothes. She was walking around. Trupti shivered. She began to sense that story was not going in right way. She slowly selected number of Cops and told all to emergency number. She knew that even today Kamal would do something. She noticed shine of knife in Kamal’s hand it was not existed before. Kamal was changed for worst. She shivered. She kept watching carefully what was happening before her. She was so scared. It was not some movie. It was reality. She was shivering. When Cop picked up her call, her voice was so strange that she couldn’t recognise it. She told all. She was shivering with fear. She just hoped one thing. Drunk person wouldn’t come before Kamal.
Dinesh heard voice. He was drunk but he had not drank out of control. He decided that he must check out. He went towards door. It was opened. He was so confused. He went in his Mom’s room. She was not there. He shivered. He started to ran out. Trupti was watching from window. She shivered when she saw Dinesh. She began to scream but he couldn’t hear. Then she started to call. She was so scared. He might forgot mobile in house but luckily it was in his pocket. He felt so confused. But that ringtone of mobile started to irritate him so he took call. He began to talk but Trupti began to scream “ Just go in house. She will kill you. Go in house.” He didn’t understand but he just turned behind and ran in house. He went inside. Then he remembered his Mom. He ran out again for her. Then he saw her. His Mom Kamal was looking so strange. All softness was gone. She smiled and said “ I hate who drank. I am protector of Kamal. She called me. I will kill whoever drank. He used to hit her and hurt her. I killed him too.” He looked towards her with shock. Dinesh said in weak voice “ Mom I am Dinesh your son!!” “ My son! I don’t have any son. I just kill those who drank.” Kamal started taking out knife but lady cops took hold of her from behind. She started screaming. But ambulance came with Doctors and nurses. Dinesh was so shattered. He kept crying for Mom. But his Mom was totally different. They admitted her to hospital. Trupti confessed to Cops that she just wanted to get story. Cops were so upset. “ Madam you should have told at least to her son?” “ Sir I don’t have proof. That day when I saw her. I was drunk too. If I told to all they shouldn’t believe me.” “ You should have tried?” Dinesh was crying. Cops patted on Dinesh's shoulder. Cop “ Form first moment I felt something was wrong? But I thought your Mom is victim and your father is culprit. Where is your father?” “He left my Mom ten years ago for another woman. He was worst man.” “ Do you have address?” “ No I don’t.” “ Do you have picture?” He showed. Cop took it. Cop told him where did they sent his Mom. Dinesh went there immediately. He searched for psychiatrist. Psychiatrist told him to relax. Then he told Dinesh “ Your Mom isn’t mentally sick!!” “ What?” “ She is pretending. Did you manage to meet Rucha’s Dad?” “ No.” “ He is your father. Your Dad is nearly monster. He acted same way with your Mom as he acted with Rucha’s Mom so you both have alcohol problem. When your Mom saw Rucha, she got angry. She lost her control over anger and she planned this killing. Luckily Rucha is alive. It is possible that she might take back complaint. But you can take back your Mom unless Cops decide to arrest her.” Dinesh called Cops. Cop said “ No complaint so I don’t arrest her. But be careful this must not be repeated.” That day Kamal cried in Dinesh's arm uncontrollably. Then they both decided to sell that house. Next day they both packed up their bags. Now they didn’t want to connect with their past again.
