Adventure story. 351. Rohit's face

Everyday evening Richa woke up she had one habit to go in balcony breathe fresh air. She knew that her room watch full of AC air and she needed fresh for some time. She didn't like it she many trying to convince Pradeep to shut down but he could not live without AC. So she decided to adjust but after sometime she need a refresher so she always used for balcony to take fresh air. Since she got out in balcony she slowly closed door of bedroom properly. She started looking around in that night. It was like full of stars and darkness for spread everywhere. It seemed like some night out of horror movie. She slowly began to feel fear inside her soul. She knew that she could go inside just after closing window but still it scared her. She knew that it was easy but still she felt as if she was taking a big risk. When she suddenly saw two youngsters coming out on the road. They both were chatting with each other. At beginning she thought that it was just a friendly argument but then slowly she understood that it was not friendly and it was something serious. She started to sense that those youngsters were going to start big fight. She didn't like it at all she turned towards door and started pushing it to go inside. But it didn't open she was so scared she started knocking loudly on the door but no one could hear her. Pradeep always felt one thing that AC was most important thing for him but he never considered about her. She began to feel so scared soon she sensed that this fight was not going to be simple when she began to feel that this boy was going to kill his friend. She started shivering and screaming loudly. Then she woke up in her bed with her screams. She looked around in room she was sleeping alone in her bed. She didn't understood anything for few moments but then she changed everything that she was sleeping alone in her bedroom and no one was sleeping with her. That she was dreaming it all by herself. She looked at picture near her bed. It was her picture with her husband in their happy days. But now it was not going to happen again. She didn't understand why did she started dreaming after so many days. She began to feel so restless. She decided that she must take a sleeping pill to relax herself. Doctor had prescribed it to her but he has warn her that she must not take it again and again. She went near her cabinet. She went near strip of medicine. She looked at it. It was almost half finished. She sensed that she must be taking them too much so she decided to put it back in her cupboard. She didn't understand what was wrong with her she thought that she had got over it. She was living her normal life and concentrating on a professional site but suddenly these dreams were disturbing her again. She didn't want to remember her past but she kept remembering it. She knew that she could not change it and what has happened was not going to change. First Pradeep promised her many things and then he cheated her. He left her for his Boss's daughter. She was rich and famous but he didn't gave that excuse to her. He blamed everything on her. He kept telling her that it was happening because she could not have child. She tried so hard and went to so many doctors and finally she got pregnant. Beginning everything looked as if turning out to be normal but it was not truth. For few days Pradeep kept showing affection towards her but soon he went back to his mistress again. That woman was so rich and powerful but still she didn't mind to having an affair with a married man. It was so strange that she was showing so much love for man who had one wife and child. At beginning she was not ready to accept her defeat but then slowly she sense that her fight was useless. Her husband was not attracted towards her so it was useless for her to tried to keep hold of him. Slowly he started demanding for divorce. At beginning there were big arguments but soon she sensed that it was having worst effect on their son. He started to have Nightmare on every night. She sensed that they could not survive like that. Finally she took alimony from him and decided to divorce him. But it was her past it was many years ago. Still she looked towards that table on which she still had that photo. She supposed to remove it since he was now other woman's husband but still she could not get over it. Somewhere in her heart she still felt that anger towards him and that woman. It was so strange that she was not getting over him at all. But she was moving ahead professionally step by step on each day she was getting bigger and bigger designer. Nowadays she was even designing dresses for top actress so she didn't want to bring this issue in light. Her son was happy with this situation but she sometimes feel that he never remembered his father. After all he never saw him that way since he was born his father just wanted to get rid of them. She just wished only if she had just before that he just wanted to left her. But then she felt that she had biggest gift of God as her son. Her son was her most precious thing in life. But still whenever she saw him she started to remember Pradeep which was not good news for her. Sometimes she felt that it would be better for her if she sent him to some hostel and stay away from him for a few days. But it was not his mistake that he looked like his father. Life is strange game with her she could not quit her son since her son looked just like her ex husband. She picked up that photograph and then thought that it was useless to remove it since her son was looking just like his father so soon people would assume that it was her picture with her son. She started laughing at her thought and she could not stop herself.
       Richa turned towards clock and she knew that it was still night she went back to her sleep. She was expecting that her nightmare would be reduced by morning. But it didn't happen when she woke up she seems that she was still angry towards her son. She started avoiding to talking to him she knew that if he ask for something she was going through her entire anger on him. She didn't understand why did she was doing this after all her son was her most precious gift. She always kept his benefit before her but nowadays she sensed so much anger whenever she looked at him.  She just wish from her heart that he was just a little boy and could have remain like that but his looks they were creating anger inside for her. She tried to smile towards him but it was not happening. Her son Rohit smiled towards her. Rohit " Why you are looking so much upset mom?" Even his question created anger inside her she began to think that she was not upset but he managed to create anger inside her and managed to upset her. " Why did you think that I am upset I am fine I am totally alright?" She said it in such a anger that he didn't dare to question her further. Then she started serving  his breakfast. She was even serving that breakfast in strange anger. She was making noise on every point. Rohit started to get upset due to it. Rohit didn't understand her anger. He knew that his mom loved him Since his childhood she never treated him like that. She remembers his mom who was sharing everything with him even when it was so limited. His Dad even did that to get divorce. His mom was not ready to give divorce his dad intentionally gave them limited money in house. Still remember those days in his mom didn't have enough money to complete her household things but still she manage to gave him everything as per his demand. He still remembered one day when he demanded football. She's mom had limited money she needed it to feel her recharge in phone. His father was not giving any extra rupee to her. But still she decided to fulfill his demand. She knew that Pradeep was not going to give him money for football so she decided that she could keep her phone shut for some days. She decided that she could take calls never make them. It was not easy for her to handle it without calling anyone but she managed it all on landline. She tried so hard to manage everything. He never understand why did he is married to his mom but he sensed one thing that he never loved her. But his mom was never ready to divorce him since she felt cheated. Still feel their financial crisis started in he started lack of money she decided to take divorce. She did everything that was best for him but today it was something different she was no longer looking at him with same affection. He wanted to know answer but she was not giving him any. Sometimes he began to think that she might begin to think him as a burden of her life. She could have beautiful life without him. She could have started her new life like his dad did with different women. But with him she had no future of finding new man. No one wanted burden of stepson specially when she was not rich. While his father lived life free like a bird she was always burden by him. But she never let him think this way until now. She never treated this way before. Rohit decided that he must ask your question about it. " Mom what is wrong? Why you are banging things like this before me?" " I'm not doing anything like that stop irritating me. You are the one who wanted to fight with me from morning to night. Come on give me a break I wanted to live happy life." He was so shocked by her and said that he didn't understood what did he supposed to ask now. She screamed on him " Take your tiffin and go to college." She seemed to have totally forgotten that he was still in school. He did as per her wishes but he was clearly hurt. Dad acted in a wrong way with her but it was not his mistake. He didn't understand why did she was taking revenge on him. She never acted like that with him. He didn't understand her change at all. He kept feeling one thing that this was not fair. He kept feeling so much hurt on every time. Something was not right about his life. He was in 10 th. It was his important year and his mom didn't care at all about him. He went in school obediently. But he was so upset. When he sat in bus, he started looking out of his window. Then his friend Nisha sat near him. Nisha never sat near him until now he always used to shift on her seat but today he was so upset that he didn't even notice her. Nisha sensed that he was totally upset and she decided to talk with him. Nisha " Earth calling Rohit Earth calling Rohit what happened where are you?" Rohit was shocked and confused. He gave her a forced smile. She was talking to him it was a big step for their friendship. He didn't want to lose this moment. Their friendship was most precious gift for him since his mom's attitude. He didn't understand what was wrong with his mom but sometimes he feel that Nisha could understand her. After all a woman could understand another woman better. But he didn't understand that if he shared those things with her did she going to hate his Mom. He didn't like that idea at all he wanted a positive impression of his mom on Nisha's mind. He decided to ignore it. " Nothing just thinking about my studies." " Yeah! 10th standard gives tension. But you are getting good marks don't worry you can easily get admission in nice college." He smiled and he was glad that she didn't understand what he was thinking about. Then he changed subject and started chatting about other things.
      As soon as Rohit went away to school, Richa sensed that she was doing everything in wrong way. She began to feel guilty about entire incident. She knew that Rohit was nice for a good student but still she was not giving him proper respect as he deserved. Rohit never did wrong demands from her. She knew that he always acted with full cooperation to her. He was still acting nice but she was the one who was getting angry at him on everyday. She didn't understand cause behind it but then she could understand it too. He was looking so much like his father. She knew that it was just his face not his nature. She started convincing it to herself and it seemed to work. Next time when he would come before her she would smile at him and she decided to cook his favourite food for him. She began to see her little son whom she used to love. She began to feel positive again suddenly  life became wonderful again. She knew that she had to go back to her work too but she decided that today she would skip some hour for her cooking. She told her cook that today she was going to cook for herself specially. Cook smiled and said that she should help her. That day she spent many hours in just cooking. When she turn back to her work she had to do it very fast but she knew that she did everything for her son. She cared for him so much. She still remembered when he first time called her mom. Before his birth everyone blamed her for troubles in her marriage. Everyone directly or indirectly told her to adjust with her husband since she could not give birth to a child. She knew that it was not right after all it was not her crime. Just because she could not become mother her husband was not permitted to have affair with another woman. The people around her didn't understand it. But he was born everyone jumped with joy. They all felt that she was perfect and he had to adjust with her. Pradeep was started getting blamed for his faults. Pradeep even started to come home on time. It all lasted for few days since he didn't change his attitude and choice. She didn't understand why did he married to her when he loved Boss's daughter so much. She felt that and that time she was his only choice. Since his Boss's daughter was in love with somebody else. She was having some rich boyfriend. So Pradeep never thought that she could consider him as her husband on some day. Birthday after sometime her her boyfriend cheated  her and went away with another girl. So she decided to take Pradeep's shoulder in her sorrows. Finally she decided that support best for her and started insisting that Pradeep should divorce her. At that time she was not getting pregnant so he had wonderful excuse against her for cheating  her. But when she become pregnant suddenly all excuses were vanished. Still he did not change his attitude and then their war started. But from beginning everyone was just on her side even his parents. So he started harrassing her by not giving enough money. It was so shocking for her when he started even he rejecting in little demand of his own son. He kept claiming that she was spoiling their son. But he was wasting so much money on him and his girlfriend that she did not agree with him at all. Finally one day he promised her a big alimony and told her that they could go in different ways. That amount was big but she rejected it in anger since she didn't want to sell her husband to that woman. But as they started moving ahead she started to sense that due to his appearance in her house entire household was getting affected in negative way. She needed to throw him out of that house since he wanted to be treated in just that way. He was so desperate to get divorce that he did everything just with that thought. At beginning she tried to tolerate with him but  slowly she sensed that it was useless. Finally she one day told him that she was ready to give divorce to him. He jumped with joy but she told him that he must pay her enough amount. Finally he had given her large amount at the settlement and she destroyed every contact with him. He confirmed it from her that she would never demand anything for their son. In his eyes that marriage was just forced marriage and burden on him. He didn't want to have any contact with it's child. He acted most horrible way with her. He showed off his second wife as if he never loved her but it was totally wrong thing. He was in love with her after their marriage for long time. Then when he saw a good opportunity he decided to quit her. It was his selfish nature that forced him to leave her. But her son was different he was not like him. She started making everything perfect for him. She wanted to shower affection on him especially on that day since she screamed on him in morning without any reason. She knew that everything was going to be perfect. They been together in many ups and downs and this was not a big issue. She started making everything perfect for him.In school Rohit had totally forgotten everything. He was busy in studying. He didn't even remember that what his mom did in morning.  When he reached back home he was too tired. He decided that he didn't want to disturb his mom so he used his key to open the door. He always used to keep keys with him. When he went inside he saw his mom was working on something and she was very happy. He felt relaxed he decided that tide of anger was over. He went in kitchen and when he saw his favourite food cooked he decided to eat it without disturbing his mom. He always used to do it. Richa heard noises in kitchen and she came inside kitchen. She went in kitchen. At first his back was towards her she smiled when she saw him eating food. But she came ahead and she saw his face once again she began to see that he was too selfish she sense tide of anger again. She started screaming on him without second thought.
      Richa" what are you doing? Are you out of your mind? You don't even care to ask your mom if she like to join you? It seem as if you are getting totally independent now you don't need your mom at all. Maybe you need a different flat too?" " Mom what are you talking about I need just food and I was eating it. I always do that mom when you are busy in your work and never disturbed you. I started doing it from 2nd standard. You had praised me at that time for my independent attitude and helpful nature but now it seems everything is turning in different way. Who began to set my every move. What is wrong mom?" Richa sensed that she did it again. She couldn't control herself. It happened again. She looked at Rohit's face. He was clearly hurt but still she began to hate that face. She began to feel it was not her mistake. It was his face and his attitude. She didn't understand anything. All was so confusing. She didn't understand what she doing. When he came before her she just started screaming on him. She knew that this way their household would collapse in few months. It  have been just because of her anger when it was worst time she managed it in best but now in their happy days she was acting in strange way. Rohit " Mom you could not keep throwing anger on me like this without any cause? I am in my important year and you don't care about it. You were always nice towards me even invoice day of past but now you are changed. I don't understand why did you keep screaming like that on me. You don't like my  action. Where ever I went you just started blaming me!! Pointing at me, screaming on me. Why mom? Why? I don't deserve treatment like this. First Dad did this now you are doing it!! If you don't want me why did you give birth to me?" Richa was totally confused. She didn't know what should she supposed to tell her son. She sat on a chair and said " I don't understand why did I keep getting angry like that maybe I need to go to doctor and do check up?" Now Rohit seemed relaxed. He started to see entire episode in different angle. She needed that his mom never did entire body checkup so he began to feel that it was not about him it was about her health. He smiled. But then he felt tense again when she started looking at him with anger. Richa " Why are you smiling? Are you happy that I am sick? " He began to feel tense again. His mom needed to go to doctor as soon as possible since they could not survive like this. She kept bursting in anger on every movement and this could not help them. She needed to act normal at least on some point of day. Rohit " Mom I was not laughing on you and I am not happy about your sickness. I was thinking that what was wrong with you and now I sense that it was just physical problem doctor would surely cure you so I smile happily. I was happy that you are not angry on me." Richa wanted to scream on him again but she controlled herself and said with smile " No No son I'm not angry on you I am not feeling well." " Mom you must not work hard you have to relax." He was talking sweetly with her but still she could not control her anger. Finally she started talking loudly " Relax? How did I supposed to relax? Your dad is not paying enough money to us. And next year you are going in college we need to plan for it too. Not we, I need to plan it for you since you can't work while studying so I need to do it all alone. Did you  understood my tensions? Did you understood my sorrows?" She was so angry on him it was always just about him in life. He never cared for her. But he understood entire episode in different way he made a sad face and started talking. " I know it happening just because of Dad I am sorry Mom I blamed you without cause. You have to handle it on your own entire life while everybody else had partner to do all those things. I don't understand how did dad acted like this with us?" " Because he was a selfish man who thought just about himself entire life." She wanted to say just like you to him but then she controlled herself. She didn't want to waste her more time on him. In fact she didn't want to see his face for more time so she decided that she must go back to her work. " I feel I need to go back to work now." " But what about that doctor mom? Mom you did many things for me now you need to take care of yourself too. I need you more than any luxurious college. If we don't have budget I will go some simple college. For education you don't need big college with reputation and large fees. You can get it from small college to and achieve many things." She nodded and for first time she sensed that he was not thinking about himself. She was talking about her full time. He was concerned about her. But still when she saw his face she felt that anger again. She decided she must go back to her work. She needed to do it properly. So she needed to keep her mind calm so she decided that she must not see Rohit for at least few hours. " I am alright I wanted to work for some hours I am going in my room and don't disturb me for some time." Rohit let her go inside her room and as soon as she went away he immediately started thinking ways to take her to doctor. He  knew his mom very well. She never cared about her health. His mom was so independent woman that he didn't find anyone who could convince her and help her. Then he remembered suddenly one of her childhood friend. He was always used to help his mom until his dad didn't started taunting about him. When Rohit remember that he suddenly felt that he was not safe person. His mom might get more angry on him. He was so confused when he suddenly remembered his aunt who was staying in US he decided to make an international call. He started searching for her number. He was so tense about his mom that he decided that he could hear few angry words for her but he would not take risk on her health. He began to search for that number and finally he found it.
      Rohit was little bit scared when he called his aunt. He thought that it could be hard for him but she picked up his phone. She started talking to him in friendly way. Then slowly she started talking about his mom when he mentioned entire issue to her. She listen to him with care. Then she said " You can't blame Richa for it. Can you? All happened because of Pradeep." " What we have to do something about it she needed to get over things? She should not feel tensed about money. We can always handle it. "He didn't say anything for long time then finally when he started saying hello she talked. " You are grown up now so Rohit I decided to be frank with you. It is not about money. I know her bank balance." Rohit was shocked. Then he sensed that he must be right in his first guess. " So it was not about money then she hated me?" " Love! Don't jump on conclusions like this I need to talk with her to understand what was her problem but I can guess it!!" " Well then tell me?" " When you were small she everyday use to talk about you and used to send your picture then slowly you started to grow up and then she started avoiding your subject on that point I sense something was wrong." " What was wrong I wanted to understand it? I could see her change on daily basis and I don't understand why did she changed in such a way. It is horrible for me. I was leaving without father but still I was very happy with my mom but suddenly everything started to change. I don't understand the cause." His aunt didn't talk with him. There was long pause. Rohit was frustrated that he should not scream but he lost his temper and scream on her. His voice was so loud that Richa heard it as soon as she came out for water. Richa was so angry when he heard him screaming on phone. She came towards him and said in loud voice. " You don't just look like your Dad but you sound just like him. I think you are monster like him. You are not just his son in looks but you are just like him in actions too." He was shocked. He didn't understand what she meant. But he started to feel frustrated. On that point his aunt said " Did you understood her problem? It was not you it was your father. You are looking just like him. " He was so shocked and frustrated. He asked her " What did I supposed to do? Plastic surgery on my face?" " No take her to counselor. She need a psychiatrist after so long stress." He was confused now. But then Richa came near him and took phone from him. Richa told him to go inside his room. She was looking at him with a such a way that he began to feel fear. He didn't want to argue with her. After all it was his mistake. He was talking about her behind her back to an unknown woman. She was his aunt but he  saw her few times and hardly chatted with her. It was frustrating for him so he decided to call her. Now he was confused. He managed to trust an unknown woman it was quite possible that she was not as promising as he thought. He decided that he must not interfere now let his mom handle everything. He went back in his room and waited.  He was expecting that his Mom should come screaming in room. But it didn't happened she didn't come after him. He waited for some time but slowly he started to feel frustrated. He began to feel restless. When he was about to go out his mom suddenly came inside. She gave him a smile but he could see in it that she was still feeling frustration and anger towards him. " Honey! Can you take care of yourself I want to go to doctor." He nodded with relief. She didn't give him any instruction just went out but as soon as she closed door. She started giving him all instruction with same affection since she could not see his face. She began to feel frustrated due to it but she knew that if she saw his face once again she began to scream on him. She control herself and went away. She kept her control full time until she didn't enter in psychiatrist office. Before psychiatrist she started crying. When he offered her some water she drank it. Then  she slowly told him everything. " It is so hard for me I love my son so much and now I am treating him like a criminal. This is not right." " This is happening because during the trauma you did not took any treatment. You must have suffered on every movement. You done everything for your son and due to his love your life was wonderful. But as your son started to grow up he manage to look like his dad. But it was not his looks that are managing to hurt you but it was the drama which you suffer during your divorce period. You tried your best to hide all pain from your son but still it grow up inside you. But still it was growing inside you and making you weak on every moment. You need to get over it and get over those pains. And with proper psychiatric treatment you will able to do it. I will teach you few technique to control your anger from time to time. You can able to handle situation." She nodded happily. She was feeling so much better really just talking to him that she felt sure that when this will be over she could able to handle everything. When she came back home, Rohit opened door for her. She wanted to scream at him at first but then slowly she remembered everything that psychiatrist told to her. She smiled at him and went in her room. It was encounter of just 2 minutes but still Rohit felt relief since he sensed that doctors treatment was working on his mom. First time her smile seemed weak but genuine. He smiled since for first time he felt that everything was going to be normal once again.
