Walking slowly by side of road
Satish was walking slowly by road side. He wanted to be
careful while walking. He didn’t want to have accident. He looked towards
himself. He was fully recovered now. He didn’t have any wound. It was so
painful still. He didn’t understand why he felt pain when he didn’t have any
wound. He checked himself carefully. His entire body was totally fine. He knew
that with certainty. He felt so nervous. He began to walk slowly &
carefully. But he didn’t understand why. He needed to find better doctor. He
was certain that something was wrong with his bones. His bones were no longer
strong. There was defect in his bones but his family doctor failed to notice
it. He needed to go to orthopedic. He was thinking about it when his mobile
rang. He looked towards it. His wife Trupti was calling. He knew that it was
going to be irritating. Trupti lived with him for two years. During those two
years she was never love him. He tried so hard to please her but she never
felt happy. She wanted more & more costly gifts. He lost count of money
which he wasted on her. She always told him that he was inferior. He tried so
hard to prove himself superior. But nothing worked. He was always inferior in
her eyes. He remembered his efforts to please her. But all of them managed to just
depress him. He didn’t want to remember that marriage. He understood very soon
that she married him to just please her father. She wanted their house. She
waited until her father didn’t give it to her. He suffered so much during that
time. Even in end her father gave that house since he insisted. One day he
heard her talking on her mobile. She said “I am stuck in this marriage due to
that house. As soon as I get that house, I will divorce him.” He felt so sad.
He went to his father-in-law & argued angrily. He told his father-in-law
that his life was getting destroyed so his father-in-law convinced to give that
house to his wife. After that his wife gave him divorce. He didn’t feel sad on
that point. But when he came back in empty house, he started to feel emptiness.
It was so depressing. He began to console himself that his house belonged to
him finally. He kept telling himself to relax. He started to move ahead in his
life. He still remembered that day. His friend Sandip called. Sandip wanted him
to go out. He needed to get over his pain of divorce. He was not that much
insisted. But Sandip insisted. He wanted to enjoy sometime with Sandip’s
children. He used to play with them a lot. So, he decided to go. But he
insisted that he would not drive. Sandip said “It’s okay. I will get some nice
driver.” He was so depressed. He just approved it. He regretted it now. That
accident shouldn’t have happened if they had not selected that driver. He knew
that driver was not right one. Sometimes he felt that after dinner he could
smell Alcohol around him. But he didn’t say anything. He decided to not argue.
He wanted to stay out of it.
Satish once
again came in present time. He needed to come in present tense. But his heart
kept moving towards negativity. He was walking slowly by side of road. He
needed to walk carefully. He decided that he needed to act carefully. He needed
to avoid accidents his best. It was important for him. He was working so hard
to get things done. He felt so nervous. He knew that he worked on computer for
hours to get things done. Now he just needed to give it to client & then he
would get paid. He didn’t have much options. It was emergency & he couldn’t
find any courier service which could provide it so quickly. He felt so
stressed. He knew that it was just small walk. But he was walking slowly &
carefully. He was shivering on every step. He knew that he was far away in
corner but soon road began to get small. Cars started to come near him. He
began to feel so restless. He wanted to convince himself that he didn’t have
accident but he couldn’t. Finally, he had enough. He just sat on footpath. He
needed to go ahead & walk. He needed to deliver his work to client. It was
so important. He needed to stand up & walk. But he couldn’t. He kept
feeling so nervous & stressed. He began to stand up slowly. He started to
stood up slowly. He needed that money so he decided to keep moving ahead. Every
step looked so hard & tough. He wanted to go ahead & he kept literally
dragging his feet. He felt so nervous. He began to shiver with fear. He needed
to control his fear. His every step was becoming heavy. He started to get
restless. He couldn’t walk ahead. He kept walking slowly with unsteady steps. It
took him such long time to reach customer’s door. Customer was waiting for him
angrily. Client gave angry look. Client “How long does it take you to deliver
this small thing? I was waiting forever!” He immediately apologized. He slowly
took out his laptop. Soon he went inside & explained all. He got paid. He
was so happy. It was large sum. He smiled happily. His mind was totally
relaxed. He told himself that he took right decision. He was moving on right
path. The way he would surely get wonderful idea to sell his product again. He
needed to keep thinking hard about discovering way to deliver it. Then he
decided to take different delivery company services. He stood up to go back. He
was walking when he saw sudden one car coming towards him. He was so scared. He
started screaming loudly. He began to cry. He was in so much pain. His left
side started to pain unbearably again. He felt so negative & sad. He knew
that nothing was going to move in right way now. He was once again going to
have one accident. He wanted to avoid it but it was not possible.
Cop was
taking round to check streets in van when he saw a man standing in corner of
street screaming. Cop looked around to see cause of danger. There was none. He
went near Satish. Cop slowly touched his shoulder. Satish was shivering so
much. He opened his eyes. He began to look towards his body & asked “Where
is that car?” “Which car?” Cop asked with shock. Satish described it. Cop felt
so confused. Cop “That car was on street it never came near you.” “No! It did.
I manage to hurt me.” Satish couldn’t able to walk. Cop saw clearly that car
never came near so it was confusing. Cop didn’t understand why did Satish
pretending like that? Cop “Why don’t you call someone from your family?” “My
family? I don’t have anyone.” Satish began to think about his family. He was
always so busy in earning money that he never gave time to his parents. Then he
got married. He tried to please his wife. He never able to please her but by
the time he got divorced his parents were already died. He never spent much time
with them. Cop asked slowly “What about some friend?” Satish began to cry. His
friend had died. Satish said slowly “My friend died. My parents died. My wife
divorced me. I am alone.” Cop understood all after those words. Cop slowly
patted on his shoulder & said “I feel you need help. That car was not near
you & you are not even hurt.” Satish felt so nervous. There was not any
wound but still there was so much pain. Satish just nodded. He wanted to feel
positive but he kept feeling negative & hopeless. Satish didn’t want to
look like mad person before Cop. But he knew that he couldn’t hide his issue.
He just stood there without any expressions. He felt so negative. He knew that
now he needed to accept his issue. He slowly asked “I don’t know where to find
help?” Cop looked frustrated. He felt scared but then Cop said “I will call
doctor. I will catch one Cab & send you to hospital. But after that it will
be your responsibility to manage all.” He nodded. He just wanted help. He was
looking towards his body. He was in such pain but there was not a wound. It all
seemed like something out of supernatural. He felt so nervous. He knew that it
was not supernatural. It was just his mental issue. He waited. Cop caught one
Cab & sent him to hospital. Satish went inside nervously. First time it was
scary but soon they instructed him what to do. He did it. He waited &
finally he entered in room of Psychiatrist. He sat on chair & he
immediately started telling all. Finally, psychiatrist told him to take deep
breath & offered a glass of water which he drank in seconds. He was so
nervous. He kept telling himself that everything was fine. His mind was so
upset. He looked towards psychiatrist with hope. Psychiatrist smiled in
pleasant way & said “Don’t worry. This is nothing supernatural. This is
mental issue.” He didn’t say anything. Psychiatrist continued “You were already
depressed due to your divorce. Your friend was trying to help you & that
accident. You didn’t tell me anything about accident!” Satish took deep breath
& said it. “Actually, everything was fine. I was enjoying at beginning. I
told my friend I can’t drive so he arranged driver. It was my big mistake.”
“No, it was right decision. You were in depression. You can’t drive like that.”
Satish smiled happily. “So you feel I shouldn’t have tried to drive.” “Of
course not. Even today I will not recommend it. That driver did accident it was
bad luck but if you have tried you should have done it surely.” Satish slowly
said “That driver was drunk after dinner I sensed it so I should have told…” “I
don’t feel you or your friend could have manage to drive in that darkness. Of
course, you could have just locked car & stopped but…” “I don’t feel that
driver was ready to waste his time like that!” “Now you can sense it was not
your mistake but still you feel sad by deaths misfortune fall on your friend’s
family. You blamed yourself for it.” Satish started to cry & said “My ex-wife
used to say I bring bad luck.” Psychiatrist “Then you done right thing by
divorcing her. You are alive so you brought good luck for yourself. You don’t
bring bad luck.” Satish smiled. After that Satish’s treatment started. Slowly
Satish began to improve. He started traveling. But he never tried to drive. He
always confirmed that driver was not drunk before entering in car. It looked
odd but still no one minded since Satish had his big tragedy to tell. Now
Satish started to walk fast & with confidence. It was great for him. His
life became normal & his career came back on track.
