Nose like Pinocchio
Charu was watching her face with care. She needed to look perfect. She needed to go out as some great model. She knew that she was just salesman of clothes but still she felt strange that she had to look great. She knew that when customer entered in that shop first thing they saw would be her face. She needed to give special smile. She started smiling but then suddenly she saw that her customer was looking at her in strange way as if her face was something totally wrong. She was so nervous. She decided that she needed to apply make up but she knew that she had to attend her customer first. She smiled and she started to talk. " Hello sir, Hello madam welcome to our shop." But that lady screamed " My God!! Is it some stuff for Halloween?" her husband " But Halloween is far away. Why don't they lock it?" She was so confused. She started looking around. She couldn't see any scary stuff. " Then why did they kept that scary witch in reception?" Charu was so shocked. Charu spoke again " What do you want?" That lady " My God that witch can talk." " Of course. They must had taped dialogues in it." Charu was so confused. Charu " What happened Sir?" Now her husband looked more shocked. That lady " She is responding to your talk." Charu " Yes I am Madam. I am here to help you in your matter. What did you want to see in this shop?" That couple looked scared. But then husband started laughing. " She must be robot. Stop getting scared. Let's go and select your dress." Charu looked around. Beside her another girl Gina was selling dress too. She looked at her with shock. Charu smiled and asked " What happened Gina?" Gina began to shiver. Gina " Your nose!! It is growing. You must go to Doctor." Charu started laughing. " This is nice practical joke but I am not in mood to joke. Tell me what happened." Other customers started to look at her with fear too. Suddenly owner of shop came running. Owner " Just go away or you will scare away all my customers." Charu was so confused and angry. She had it enough. She just stood and went out of store. She started walking. Every one was looking at her in strange way. She began to sense that it was not joke. She stopped on one corner of road and started searching for mirror. But she didn't find it. She was angry with herself. She never found a mirror on time. It was so wrong. She found many useless things like lipsticks which she never used and towel and face wash, many other stuff but she couldn't find mirror. It was so upsetting. She kept sensing every one was looking at her in strange way. Then she suddenly located a glass of shop. It was not perfect as mirror but still it was enough. She looked at her reflection and she was shocked. Her nose was strange. It was grown so large. She couldn't believe it. She was not Pinocchio. She had not lied to any one. But then she felt confused. She might had said some innocent lie. She started to feel so nervous. She sensed one thing that she needed to find doctor so she started running. Then she suddenly sensed that she was down on floor. Her husband Pankaj screamed in confused voice " What happened?" when she managed to take down glass of water with her. It was empty but it made loud noise. She gave one embarrassed smile "Nothing I just managed to fall out bed." "What? You fall from bed while sleeping?" She knew that it was strange but it was truth. She tried to stood up but then she sensed that she might slip in broken glass. Pankaj stood up. " Stop..stop. Let me start light." She nodded. She knew that he could see her face but still she did it. When light was on, she saw that she had managed to create big mess in bedroom. " I am so sorry." Pankaj " For what? For breaking a glass. I am rich enough to buy new one in fact even our maid is rich enough to buy new one. " " No. For ruining this carpet." " Come on when you start to behave like owner of this house. Get grip. You are my wife. This is your house. You can broke as much as you want. But just don't break yourself. Like you might did by falling from bed like this from today sleep close to me. No need to feel shy towards your husband. Do you feel that need?" She started laughing. She just loved Pankaj and his sense of humor. She knew one thing that she could never find as best husband as he was. She started standing carefully. Then they managed to clear that mess their best. Then once again they went to sleep. She totally forgot about that dream. She just went to sleep peacefully while listening to Pankaj's jokes. He always managed to reduce her stress. He was greatest.
Suddenly voice of alarm clock started to ring Charu woke up with it's voice. She looked around. It was morning. In this morning she felt as if her dream was joke. Her nose was increasing it was just nonsense. She was so sensitive about such childish thing. She felt so frustrated by thinking about her fear. She sensed one thing that night could do any thing to mind. Then she heard Pankaj snoring. He never woke up on time. She knew that she needed to give him black coffee to wake him up. But he had to brush his teethes too. He was just like child in morning and of course she had to take care of her child too. Their little angel was sleeping in her separate room. Kiran was just 7 years old but still she insisted on separate room. She was against it but Pankaj supported her. Pankaj " Come on. Nothing is wrong in it and you can pay attention to her all day since you are going to stay with her." "Yes I stay with her entire day but I had to cook and do many other things too. When maid didn't come I need to.."" Okay..okay I know you are busy but I felt that it could nice education for her." "Really I have to clean her room too. She will not do any thing." But whenever any one come you have to come and sleep with us. " Kiran " But I can sleep with Grandpa and Grandma?" " They are not guest Kiran this house belong to them too. Actually it is their room which we turn in guest room since storage room was too suffocating so when they will come you need to convince them. Just use same way which your Dad taught you. Make sweet and innocent eyes and say please." Pankaj " Hey I did nothing." " Really?" " She was just asking for empty room. You know in heart we all want own room in childhood. If it is possible then we can give it to her. It is dream come true." " I bait she will keep coming in our room every night." It turned out to be true for sometime. But then step by step she learned to sleep in her room. So Charu needed to wake her up. She decided that she might get ready to Kiran first. She ran in her room. She woke her up. She sent her in bathroom. Then Kiran started to take bath in bathroom. Charu paid total attention to her since she felt so scared that she might slip in bathroom. But then she thought that she had another bathroom. She ran in her bedroom and forced Pankaj to go for bathe. Then she returned to kitchen. She kept kitchen door opened since she wanted to help Kiran immediately when she came out. On other hand she started making lunch box. Morning time was always most busy time of day for her. She could relax later but in morning she could take even one breathe until every thing did set up in right way. She managed to cook vegetables. She started to adding spice then she heard scream of Kiran. She went in bedroom. Kiran was getting ready. She managed to help her. Then she ran back to kitchen. By then vegetable was ready. She put it in pot and ice so that it could go to normal temperature. She heard Pankaj coming in kitchen. She started to get his breakfast ready. Kiran had time since her school was late but Pankaj had to go early. She gave him breakfast. Then he started eating it fast. But first he drank coffee. Since he couldn't get ready without that coffee. He felt so sleepy in morning. Then after drinking it he started getting ready. He got ready quickly. He didn't eat his breakfast totally. He always kept half finished breakfast this way. At beginning she used to question but then her mother-in-law told her. Pankaj needed a black coffee in morning to start. He just couldn't begin his day without it. He had to drink coffee. At beginning she felt that keeping breakfast like that way wrong but now she accepted it. So Pankaj ran inside to get ready while keeping his breakfast there. But it was not going to be easy for him now. Since as soon as he went in his room, Kiran came running and she began to eat it. At beginning Charu used to scream on her and tell her that she must not eat Pankaj's remaining food. But then she sensed Kiran ate it when she started to work so she decided to ignore it. She decided that let Pankaj scream on his daughter after all he was the one who kept taking her side. She turned her back and kept cooking. She was smiling since she knew that now it would be interesting and funny argument between Pankaj was going to start. He never able to get angry with his daughter properly.
When Pankaj came out, he saw Kiran was already eating his breakfast. He was so upset by it. He wanted his breakfast to be in limit. Now he had to guess how much he had eaten. Pankaj screamed on Kiran " how many time I have to tell you take your own plate." " Daddy I like to eat from your plate." Pankuj was so angry. " Can't you understand little bit manners?!! You are big girl now. Do you want to receive punishment?" Suddenly Kiran started to look scared. She didn't want punishment from Dad. She decided that crying was best option. She began to cry. She wanted help from her Mom. Charu was laughing whole time. She was enjoying this little incidence. She knew that Pankuj was not going to punish his daughter but he started scaring her since it was needful. Charu was not going to stop him. She felt from her soul their daughter needed little bit discipline. Kiran might get sick one day if she kept eating this way. But she had lots of doubt that Pankaj could punish her. Charu was laughing since it happened every day. Kiran would cry and then Pankaj started to console her. Many time he just started feeding her his breakfast. Kiran was managing to move her father on her fingers. Charu kept laughing about it. But after some time when she get angry with Kiran, she knew that Kiran would become obedient daughter. She was about to do her usual act of getting angry when she suddenly saw her reflection in pan. Her nose!! It was truly increasing. She started to touch it. She knew that it couldn't be happening. But then even her finger started to sense a straight nose. She sensed that her bone was so sharp. She began to feel that it was like knife. She was so scared from heart. She started to touch it again and again. Then without thinking she just ran away in bedroom. Pankaj and Kiran were so shocked. Pankaj ran after her. He kept screaming " What happened?" Kiran was coming behind him and she was also repeating same question. It was worst moment for entire family. They were having their every day routine argument and suddenly it turned in worst way. When Pankaj went inside, he saw that Charu was bandaging her nose. She was trying to hide some wound. Pankaj ran to her. " What happened? Did you hurt your nose?" " No..No..it is growing.""Growing?" Kiran " Like Pinocchio?" Suddenly they both sensed that their daughter was standing there. Pankaj " Honey don't you need to go to school?" " But Daddy Mom is sick." Kiran was crying with concern. They sensed that they had to send her away. Charu decided to tell her just truth. Charu " Mom feel something wrong with her but honey when Mom needed to go to Doctor you can't come. You have to go to school." Pankaj " But what happened?" When Charu started to answer, she sensed that she didn't have logic in it. She turned to Kiran and told her " Honey Mom is fine. This is matter of elders will you go out?!!" She said it sweetly. After hearing this Kiran nodded and went out. Then Pankaj came near her. Pankaj asked her " Now tell me what is it?" She looked at her nose again. She was confused now. It was sharp but she didn't understand how could she explain it to her husband. Charu " I think my nose is growing." Pankaj was confused and concerned now. He looked at her nose. " You mean your nose have swelling? " She was happy since this version was a lot better. Her nose was not growing it was swelling. She must had something in it. She suddenly shivered with fear. She began to think this could be anything. Pankaj " Why are you shivering? Do you feel cold?" "Little bit. But I am fine. I just feel so tense about this nose. It could be anything. What if something happen to me?" Pankaj " Nothing will happen to you. You will be fine." Charu started to get tense. She began to feel sad. Charu " I am not concern about myself. I am scared regarding you and Kiran who would take care of you both." Pankaj " Stop this nonsense. You will be fine. I will take you to Doctor." She nodded. Then she decided that she must pretend for her daughter so she created an artificial smile on her face. Kiran was not fooled by her smile but Kiran at least got ready for school and Pankaj took leave from office. It was worst day for Charu. It was first time when she sensed some thing was wrong with her nose.
When Charu and Pankaj went to family Doctor, he looked confused. He started examining her nose carefully. He touched it. He started asking her if she felt any pain. He began to examine her more carefully. Doctor " Did you feel any pain?" Charu " No." Doctor looked more carefully. Doctor"I don't see anything wrong in your nose. It is perfect." Doctor kept judging it again and again. Charu " No Doctor. It is growing in strange way." Doctor turned to Pankaj " Did you notice anything wrong in her nose?" Pankaj looked at it. He was confused too. The way in which Charu appeared to be confident. He felt that there must be some mistake in her nose. But when he tried to remember her nose, truthfully he couldn't see difference. In fact he never saw it that carefully. He watched her with care but he never measured her nose to see little bit difference. In fact he never even watched his nose with that care. He was never concerned about noses until now. But today he felt that it was his crime. He had to watch noses with care. He felt so sad. Pankaj " Doctor actually I never saw nose with such care." Charu looked at him in way of accusation. Pankaj " I mean. I saw it everyday but it was just part of face. It was not something like eyes in which I kept looking." Doctor started laughing. Doctor " I know..I know But I watch nose every day so I can give guarantee. Nothing is wrong with her nose." " But Doctor I can feel it." " There might be some infection inside due to which you are getting this strange feeling. I feel give you some medicine to reduce it but for that we first need to to do x ray of nose. Since I need to confirm what is problem. It might be something simple like sinus etc. I can give you number of Doctor or you want to go to your Doctor?" Pankaj " My brother can do x ray." "Great so bring report to me." Pankaj nodded. Then Pankaj called him and took Charu immediately there. It was hard moments for them. But when report came out Pankaj's brother looked confused. Pankaj's brother " What happened to her nose? I mean in x ray every thing looked just fine." Charu was so shocked. Charu " But my nose is growing." " Your nose what?" " It is growing." Pankaj's brother started laughing. " This is nice joke. Are you going to tell me story of Pinocchio? In which Charu was playing role of Pinocchio?" Charu was so angry. Pankaj's brother was joking on her pain. Charu " This is not joke for me. I am feeling lots of pain. I can see my nose is growing and one day I am going to look like witch." She started crying. Pankaj's brother " Just relax. Your nose is not growing. Nose don't grow like that. It can't. In fairy tale it can but in reality it can't." " But when I see myself in mirror. I can see." She started searching for mirror. But she didn't find one easily. She was so confused. Then she smiled. Charu " I got idea. Do you have measuring tape?" " Measuring tape?" "Yes." Pankaj " Are you going to measure nose?" " Yes. Why not? I want to prove my point and this is best way to prove it." Pankaj was confused. But his brother stopped him. " Let her try her way. This way she would feel convinced." " Convinced about what?" " That her nose is not growing." Pankaj was shocked. First time he sensed that something was wrong with Charu's brain. This was shocking thought. Just before one day his wife was fine and now suddenly she began to claim her nose was growing, Pankaj " But you never felt before that your nose was growing." " Because it never grow so much. It was growing little bit. I mean it looked odd little bit to me on each day. But now you can just look at it and sense." They both looked at her nose. But they felt that it was sharp but it was normal. Her nose was always sharp. They sensed one thing that something was wrong with her brain not with her nose. But Pankaj sensed another thing too. It was going to be hard to convince her about it. She was full determined to prove that her nose was growing. She was not getting convinced at all. Finally Pankaj's brother gave x ray. Then Charu insisted to going to family Doctor again. He saw that x ray. Doctor " You are fine." " No Doctor my nose is growing." It was so strange. Doctor looked at her in strange way. Then he looked towards Pankaj. " I feel your wife need psychiatrist." Charu screamed " I am not mad. Why every one is treating me like that?" Then she looked at Pankaj " Did you pay them to prove me mad?" Pankaj and Doctor both started to look angry. Pankaj " Are you out of your mind? First you keep screaming about nose and now you are doing these allegations on me?" Charu was so upset. She just stood and went out of Doctor's clinic. She sat on bench outside. She started crying. She just didn't understand what was wrong with her. But her nose was growing. She decided that she must call her parents. Her Mom would help her. She called her immediately.
From that day Pakanj decided that he would not talk about Charu's nose. He kept sensing that she was trying many experiments on her nose. One day she put pack on it. Next day she used creams. Soon she started visiting many Doctors. Her box of medicines began to get full. He knew that she was going everywhere with her Mom so he was relaxed. But then he started to sensing that she was taking too many medicines without reason but still he decided to wait. But one day finally Kiran spoke " Mom what is wrong with your nose?" Charu was so happy. " So you can see it clearly? Don't you? My nose is growing." " Growing? Like tree?" " Not like tree!! Like..like you are growing every day in height." Kiran looked at her carefully. " Sorry Mom I can't see it." Charu was so scared. She looked at scared face of her daughter then she turned attention to her husband. Pankaj was always looking kind. He could never harm any one as she was beginning to think these days. He was clearly angry with her allegations. She began to see her Mom's face too. Her Mom was also looking sad and frustrated on her these days. Specially since all Doctors started telling her that nothing was wrong. But still she was taking some antibiotics which were prescribed by Doctor whom her Mom didn't trust. She began to feel so weak even her stomach started complaining. She sensed one thing that no one believed her nose was growing. Just those people who were interested in taking money were trusting it. But then she remembered last Doctor who suggested plastic surgery. It might work and make her feel normal. But it required money. She knew Pankaj would never agree. Even her Mom was strictly against her. Many Doctors advised her against it. Every one was telling her that she was falling in trap of Doctor's racket. Even few Doctors told her that last time a patient died due to mistake. She was so confused. Now she had to do something. She decided that she must spoke. Charu" I want to do plastic surgery." Pankaj was so shocked. But he knew somewhere in heart finally it was going to come to this. Indirectly his brother told him that it might happen one day and he must stood against it since such surgery might prove life threatening. His wife was most important to him. He had already planned how he could play card. He smiled and said " You can do it." Charu was so happy really. " Yes but first you must visit psychiatrist I suggested." " Psychiatrist? I am not mad." " I know but I want myself to be prepared for such big operation. If I am getting scared unnecessarily that psychiatrist convince me instead of you." Charu was so happy. She liked this idea. She nodded. She immediately took card and took appointment. As soon as she went out, Kiran came near Pankaj. Kiran " Mom is beautiful I don't want her to change face." " I know honey. I want same thing so I am taking her to a Doctor who convince her same thing in right way before taking her to Doctor who change her face." Kiran looked confused but still she nodded. Then she went to school. That day once again Pankaj took leave from Office. He was tense about these leaves. His Boss was not happy about these things. Sometimes he felt that this was happening due his lack of attention in house. But he couldn't help it. When they went there, they sat for long time. But Charu was comfortable with it since she was sitting like that for many months. Pankaj sensed that he had came to psychiatrist on perfect time. When they went inside, Charu started talking about nose. Psychiatrist watched it carefully then he nodded. Psychiatrist began to chat with her. Slowly she began to feel little relax. She was still upset with that nose but it began to feel bearable, Then he asked " Why don't you go out? I call nurse. She will check your blood pressure." Charu was shocked. " This is happening due to blood pressure." Psychiatrist laughed. " No..no..blood pressure could increase due to this." Charu smiled too. Then nurse came. She smiled and took Charu with her in other room to do check up. Psychiatrist " Your wife is suffering from Body dysmorphic Disorder. This is person began to feel take regarding looking ugly. They get obsessed with some body part. They didn't want to think about any thing else. In your wife's case it is nose." Pankaj " But why did it happened?" " It can happen due to any thing like genetic factor or some taunting in childhood we don't know." " But why did it suddenly increased?" " It had not increased suddenly. She mentioned it when it became big problem in her eyes. She might had mentioned before that she didn't like her nose." Pankaj thought about it. Then he remembered Charu's dislike towards her nose many times but he never considered it as big issue. Pankaj " So Doctor what I suppose to do now?" " Nothing. Just keep bringing her here and I will solve problem." " But she is talking about plastic surgery. " " Don't worry I will handle it." Pankaj smiled. Then Charu came inside. Doctor told Pankaj to sit outside. Then Pankaj waited with patience. When Charu came outside she said " I think I might talk with psychiatrist for some time then we can decide about plastic surgery no need to go for such big operation so quickly." Pankaj smiled and nodded. After that Charu every day began to talk against plastic surgery and began to talk about how sharp noses could be beautiful every day. Kiran and Pankaj kept smiling slowly when she turned her back. They were glad finally they got rid of that operation. They were happy to hear admiration of sharp noses every day instead of it. Little lectures didn't harm any one unless it was taunt to some one. But Charu never taunted any nose. She kept admiring every nose existed in world.

But then she thought that she had another bathroom. She ran in her bedroom and forced Pankaj to go for bathe. Then she returned to kitchen. She kept kitchen door opened since she wanted to help Kiran immediately when she came out. On other hand she started making lunch box. Morning time was always most busy time of day for her. She could relax later but in morning she could take even one breathe until every thing did set up in right way. She managed to cook vegetables. She started to adding spice then she heard scream of Kiran. She went in bedroom. Kiran was getting ready. She managed to help her. Then she ran back to kitchen. By then vegetable was ready. She put it in pot and ice so that it could go to normal temperature. She heard Pankaj coming in kitchen. She started to get his breakfast ready. Kiran had time since her school was late but Pankaj had to go early. She gave him breakfast. Then he started eating it fast. But first he drank coffee. Since he couldn't get ready without that coffee. He felt so sleepy in morning. Then after drinking it he started getting ready. He got ready quickly. He didn't eat his breakfast totally. He always kept half finished breakfast this way. At beginning she used to question but then her mother-in-law told her. Pankaj needed a black coffee in morning to start. He just couldn't begin his day without it. He had to drink coffee. At beginning she felt that keeping breakfast like that way wrong but now she accepted it. So Pankaj ran inside to get ready while keeping his breakfast there. But it was not going to be easy for him now. Since as soon as he went in his room, Kiran came running and she began to eat it. At beginning Charu used to scream on her and tell her that she must not eat Pankaj's remaining food. But then she sensed Kiran ate it when she started to work so she decided to ignore it. She decided that let Pankaj scream on his daughter after all he was the one who kept taking her side. She turned her back and kept cooking. She was smiling since she knew that now it would be interesting and funny argument between Pankaj was going to start. He never able to get angry with his daughter properly.
When Pankaj came out, he saw Kiran was already eating his breakfast. He was so upset by it. He wanted his breakfast to be in limit. Now he had to guess how much he had eaten. Pankaj screamed on Kiran " how many time I have to tell you take your own plate." " Daddy I like to eat from your plate." Pankuj was so angry. " Can't you understand little bit manners?!! You are big girl now. Do you want to receive punishment?" Suddenly Kiran started to look scared. She didn't want punishment from Dad. She decided that crying was best option. She began to cry. She wanted help from her Mom. Charu was laughing whole time. She was enjoying this little incidence. She knew that Pankuj was not going to punish his daughter but he started scaring her since it was needful. Charu was not going to stop him. She felt from her soul their daughter needed little bit discipline. Kiran might get sick one day if she kept eating this way. But she had lots of doubt that Pankaj could punish her. Charu was laughing since it happened every day. Kiran would cry and then Pankaj started to console her. Many time he just started feeding her his breakfast. Kiran was managing to move her father on her fingers. Charu kept laughing about it. But after some time when she get angry with Kiran, she knew that Kiran would become obedient daughter. She was about to do her usual act of getting angry when she suddenly saw her reflection in pan. Her nose!! It was truly increasing. She started to touch it. She knew that it couldn't be happening. But then even her finger started to sense a straight nose. She sensed that her bone was so sharp. She began to feel that it was like knife. She was so scared from heart. She started to touch it again and again. Then without thinking she just ran away in bedroom. Pankaj and Kiran were so shocked. Pankaj ran after her. He kept screaming " What happened?" Kiran was coming behind him and she was also repeating same question. It was worst moment for entire family. They were having their every day routine argument and suddenly it turned in worst way. When Pankaj went inside, he saw that Charu was bandaging her nose. She was trying to hide some wound. Pankaj ran to her. " What happened? Did you hurt your nose?" " No..No..it is growing.""Growing?" Kiran " Like Pinocchio?" Suddenly they both sensed that their daughter was standing there. Pankaj " Honey don't you need to go to school?" " But Daddy Mom is sick." Kiran was crying with concern. They sensed that they had to send her away. Charu decided to tell her just truth. Charu " Mom feel something wrong with her but honey when Mom needed to go to Doctor you can't come. You have to go to school." Pankaj " But what happened?" When Charu started to answer, she sensed that she didn't have logic in it. She turned to Kiran and told her " Honey Mom is fine. This is matter of elders will you go out?!!" She said it sweetly. After hearing this Kiran nodded and went out. Then Pankaj came near her. Pankaj asked her " Now tell me what is it?" She looked at her nose again. She was confused now. It was sharp but she didn't understand how could she explain it to her husband. Charu " I think my nose is growing." Pankaj was confused and concerned now. He looked at her nose. " You mean your nose have swelling? " She was happy since this version was a lot better. Her nose was not growing it was swelling. She must had something in it. She suddenly shivered with fear. She began to think this could be anything. Pankaj " Why are you shivering? Do you feel cold?" "Little bit. But I am fine. I just feel so tense about this nose. It could be anything. What if something happen to me?" Pankaj " Nothing will happen to you. You will be fine." Charu started to get tense. She began to feel sad. Charu " I am not concern about myself. I am scared regarding you and Kiran who would take care of you both." Pankaj " Stop this nonsense. You will be fine. I will take you to Doctor." She nodded. Then she decided that she must pretend for her daughter so she created an artificial smile on her face. Kiran was not fooled by her smile but Kiran at least got ready for school and Pankaj took leave from office. It was worst day for Charu. It was first time when she sensed some thing was wrong with her nose.
When Charu and Pankaj went to family Doctor, he looked confused. He started examining her nose carefully. He touched it. He started asking her if she felt any pain. He began to examine her more carefully. Doctor " Did you feel any pain?" Charu " No." Doctor looked more carefully. Doctor"I don't see anything wrong in your nose. It is perfect." Doctor kept judging it again and again. Charu " No Doctor. It is growing in strange way." Doctor turned to Pankaj " Did you notice anything wrong in her nose?" Pankaj looked at it. He was confused too. The way in which Charu appeared to be confident. He felt that there must be some mistake in her nose. But when he tried to remember her nose, truthfully he couldn't see difference. In fact he never saw it that carefully. He watched her with care but he never measured her nose to see little bit difference. In fact he never even watched his nose with that care. He was never concerned about noses until now. But today he felt that it was his crime. He had to watch noses with care. He felt so sad. Pankaj " Doctor actually I never saw nose with such care." Charu looked at him in way of accusation. Pankaj " I mean. I saw it everyday but it was just part of face. It was not something like eyes in which I kept looking." Doctor started laughing. Doctor " I know..I know But I watch nose every day so I can give guarantee. Nothing is wrong with her nose." " But Doctor I can feel it." " There might be some infection inside due to which you are getting this strange feeling. I feel give you some medicine to reduce it but for that we first need to to do x ray of nose. Since I need to confirm what is problem. It might be something simple like sinus etc. I can give you number of Doctor or you want to go to your Doctor?" Pankaj " My brother can do x ray." "Great so bring report to me." Pankaj nodded. Then Pankaj called him and took Charu immediately there. It was hard moments for them. But when report came out Pankaj's brother looked confused. Pankaj's brother " What happened to her nose? I mean in x ray every thing looked just fine." Charu was so shocked. Charu " But my nose is growing." " Your nose what?" " It is growing." Pankaj's brother started laughing. " This is nice joke. Are you going to tell me story of Pinocchio? In which Charu was playing role of Pinocchio?" Charu was so angry. Pankaj's brother was joking on her pain. Charu " This is not joke for me. I am feeling lots of pain. I can see my nose is growing and one day I am going to look like witch." She started crying. Pankaj's brother " Just relax. Your nose is not growing. Nose don't grow like that. It can't. In fairy tale it can but in reality it can't." " But when I see myself in mirror. I can see." She started searching for mirror. But she didn't find one easily. She was so confused. Then she smiled. Charu " I got idea. Do you have measuring tape?" " Measuring tape?" "Yes." Pankaj " Are you going to measure nose?" " Yes. Why not? I want to prove my point and this is best way to prove it." Pankaj was confused. But his brother stopped him. " Let her try her way. This way she would feel convinced." " Convinced about what?" " That her nose is not growing." Pankaj was shocked. First time he sensed that something was wrong with Charu's brain. This was shocking thought. Just before one day his wife was fine and now suddenly she began to claim her nose was growing, Pankaj " But you never felt before that your nose was growing." " Because it never grow so much. It was growing little bit. I mean it looked odd little bit to me on each day. But now you can just look at it and sense." They both looked at her nose. But they felt that it was sharp but it was normal. Her nose was always sharp. They sensed one thing that something was wrong with her brain not with her nose. But Pankaj sensed another thing too. It was going to be hard to convince her about it. She was full determined to prove that her nose was growing. She was not getting convinced at all. Finally Pankaj's brother gave x ray. Then Charu insisted to going to family Doctor again. He saw that x ray. Doctor " You are fine." " No Doctor my nose is growing." It was so strange. Doctor looked at her in strange way. Then he looked towards Pankaj. " I feel your wife need psychiatrist." Charu screamed " I am not mad. Why every one is treating me like that?" Then she looked at Pankaj " Did you pay them to prove me mad?" Pankaj and Doctor both started to look angry. Pankaj " Are you out of your mind? First you keep screaming about nose and now you are doing these allegations on me?" Charu was so upset. She just stood and went out of Doctor's clinic. She sat on bench outside. She started crying. She just didn't understand what was wrong with her. But her nose was growing. She decided that she must call her parents. Her Mom would help her. She called her immediately.
From that day Pakanj decided that he would not talk about Charu's nose. He kept sensing that she was trying many experiments on her nose. One day she put pack on it. Next day she used creams. Soon she started visiting many Doctors. Her box of medicines began to get full. He knew that she was going everywhere with her Mom so he was relaxed. But then he started to sensing that she was taking too many medicines without reason but still he decided to wait. But one day finally Kiran spoke " Mom what is wrong with your nose?" Charu was so happy. " So you can see it clearly? Don't you? My nose is growing." " Growing? Like tree?" " Not like tree!! Like..like you are growing every day in height." Kiran looked at her carefully. " Sorry Mom I can't see it." Charu was so scared. She looked at scared face of her daughter then she turned attention to her husband. Pankaj was always looking kind. He could never harm any one as she was beginning to think these days. He was clearly angry with her allegations. She began to see her Mom's face too. Her Mom was also looking sad and frustrated on her these days. Specially since all Doctors started telling her that nothing was wrong. But still she was taking some antibiotics which were prescribed by Doctor whom her Mom didn't trust. She began to feel so weak even her stomach started complaining. She sensed one thing that no one believed her nose was growing. Just those people who were interested in taking money were trusting it. But then she remembered last Doctor who suggested plastic surgery. It might work and make her feel normal. But it required money. She knew Pankaj would never agree. Even her Mom was strictly against her. Many Doctors advised her against it. Every one was telling her that she was falling in trap of Doctor's racket. Even few Doctors told her that last time a patient died due to mistake. She was so confused. Now she had to do something. She decided that she must spoke. Charu" I want to do plastic surgery." Pankaj was so shocked. But he knew somewhere in heart finally it was going to come to this. Indirectly his brother told him that it might happen one day and he must stood against it since such surgery might prove life threatening. His wife was most important to him. He had already planned how he could play card. He smiled and said " You can do it." Charu was so happy really. " Yes but first you must visit psychiatrist I suggested." " Psychiatrist? I am not mad." " I know but I want myself to be prepared for such big operation. If I am getting scared unnecessarily that psychiatrist convince me instead of you." Charu was so happy. She liked this idea. She nodded. She immediately took card and took appointment. As soon as she went out, Kiran came near Pankaj. Kiran " Mom is beautiful I don't want her to change face." " I know honey. I want same thing so I am taking her to a Doctor who convince her same thing in right way before taking her to Doctor who change her face." Kiran looked confused but still she nodded. Then she went to school. That day once again Pankaj took leave from Office. He was tense about these leaves. His Boss was not happy about these things. Sometimes he felt that this was happening due his lack of attention in house. But he couldn't help it. When they went there, they sat for long time. But Charu was comfortable with it since she was sitting like that for many months. Pankaj sensed that he had came to psychiatrist on perfect time. When they went inside, Charu started talking about nose. Psychiatrist watched it carefully then he nodded. Psychiatrist began to chat with her. Slowly she began to feel little relax. She was still upset with that nose but it began to feel bearable, Then he asked " Why don't you go out? I call nurse. She will check your blood pressure." Charu was shocked. " This is happening due to blood pressure." Psychiatrist laughed. " No..no..blood pressure could increase due to this." Charu smiled too. Then nurse came. She smiled and took Charu with her in other room to do check up. Psychiatrist " Your wife is suffering from Body dysmorphic Disorder. This is person began to feel take regarding looking ugly. They get obsessed with some body part. They didn't want to think about any thing else. In your wife's case it is nose." Pankaj " But why did it happened?" " It can happen due to any thing like genetic factor or some taunting in childhood we don't know." " But why did it suddenly increased?" " It had not increased suddenly. She mentioned it when it became big problem in her eyes. She might had mentioned before that she didn't like her nose." Pankaj thought about it. Then he remembered Charu's dislike towards her nose many times but he never considered it as big issue. Pankaj " So Doctor what I suppose to do now?" " Nothing. Just keep bringing her here and I will solve problem." " But she is talking about plastic surgery. " " Don't worry I will handle it." Pankaj smiled. Then Charu came inside. Doctor told Pankaj to sit outside. Then Pankaj waited with patience. When Charu came outside she said " I think I might talk with psychiatrist for some time then we can decide about plastic surgery no need to go for such big operation so quickly." Pankaj smiled and nodded. After that Charu every day began to talk against plastic surgery and began to talk about how sharp noses could be beautiful every day. Kiran and Pankaj kept smiling slowly when she turned her back. They were glad finally they got rid of that operation. They were happy to hear admiration of sharp noses every day instead of it. Little lectures didn't harm any one unless it was taunt to some one. But Charu never taunted any nose. She kept admiring every nose existed in world.
