Working in store
Rita was
working carefully on her computer when doorbell rang. She was expecting her son
Ravi to open it. But he didn’t. She felt so upset. She was working whole day
while her son Ravi was relaxing whole time. She wanted to feel positive about
all but frankly it was not possible. She wanted Ravi to take life seriously.
Her husband Harish was financially well while her father was not so rich man.
He was very nice man but he never managed to get rich but Rita managed to get
nice start up due to her father’s help. She started out of nothing but she
managed to get position. Harish met her on computer at some social site so
their marriage didn’t have any connection with her financial status but she
felt that her work was very important too. She worked for days. Now she
developed nice career. She wanted Ravi to pay attention to it. But Ravi didn’t.
Then suddenly Ravi came in room. She smiled happily & asked “What is it? Do
you want to know about this order?” She was manager of one shop. He gave her
one look that told her he was not interested. Ravi “Mom you are just manager of
that branded shop. You are not owner. You must not get too much attach to it.
What if they decided to close it tomorrow?” She was so angry. It was one thing
that he was not interested in her work but it was another that he wanted her to
become jobless. She wanted to argue. Finally, she decided to just keep quiet.
She didn’t want to imagine that day when she would lose her job. She was
working for that shop forever. She was planning to retire while doing that job
only. It was so upsetting. But then she felt that Ravi was right. She said
slowly “I can’t start my shop. It required money.” Ravi nodded. Ravi “I totally
agree so I need to find something else. It will be useless if I learn your
work.” She nodded. She didn’t want to argue. She sensed that Ravi was right.
She began to concentrate on her design. She kept doing design one after
another. She was working so hard to get it right. She submitted it. Her Boss immediately
approved it. She began to draw different designs until now they all got deserved
response. She smiled happily. She smiled to herself. She slowly began to feel
Ravi was getting spoiled. She was feeling so sure about herself. She decided
that she needed to chat with Ravi. She needed to explain him that how important
she was for her office. Ravi needed to value her. She began to call Ravi but he
didn’t come. Finally, she came out of her room. She saw that Ravi was listening
to music. It was routine. Ravi kept listening to his music with headphones
& never paid attention to her. She didn’t like this but Harish told her not
to irritate Ravi too much. Harish said “Your attitude is making him more
negative towards you.” “But someone need to disciple him!” “I don’t feel he
need so much strict disciples at this moment. He is studying properly & he
will join my company.” She disliked that idea so much. She wanted Ravi to stand
on his feet in independent way but Harish kept talking about joining his
company & now Ravi was not doing anything exactly. He was doing some
creative course. She was not certain that he would get some job through it. It
was so upsetting. She was working so hard to settle down in her young age but
Ravi was just relaxing. She wanted to talk but he was listening to music so she
decided to not do that. She just went back to her room.
Ravi observed entry of his mom Rita.
He ignored her intentionally. She was so irritating. Ravi was trying so hard to
settle down in his career but things were not working properly. He didn’t join
his father’s Harish’s company since that company was also not making profits.
Ravi needed to find his way but he knew that his mom was showing him wrong way.
Ravi was sure that when he would work in that store. His mom would keep
screaming on him. He saw that how much other subordinates hated her. None of
them liked her except her Boss who wanted her to keep screaming. Her Boss
wanted pressure on all employees regarding selling products. But Ravi was
certain that it wouldn’t work. Ravi knew that one day customers would get
reduced. His mom was acting in such wrong way towards people. But it was not
going to be useful. His mom would never believe. His mom always considered
herself as most wise person. He didn’t want to argue with her. He was sitting
in that room for days. He already lost count. He tried hard to avoid his mom.
He was so lucky when she needed to go to store. He just hated her presence
around himself. He didn’t understand that why did she felt so negative about
all. Rita was feeling so stressed. She was suffering so much in heart. She knew
that she was right. Her son Ravi needed to be discipled. She slowly went in
Ravi’s room again. This time she decided to tap on Ravi’s shoulder. Ravi was so
angry. He didn’t have much option but he wanted to avoid her so he just closed
his eyes & pretended as if he was sleeping. But this time Rita was totally
determined to wake him up. She started shaking. Finally, he needed to open his
eyes. He slowly looked towards her. He pretended for sometime as if he didn’t
recognize her. Then slowly he gave nervous smile & said “Oh! Mom! It’s
you!” She knew that he was pretending. She was so angry but still she kept
smiling. She said “Maybe I need to buy one store? Then you will work in it!”
Ravi laughed in odd way. His face looked so negative. She felt as if he had
slapped her. She was doing nice job of selling products in store. She didn’t
understand why did Ravi hated her so much. She remembered very well as child he
used to come with her sometimes. She used to tell him to sit in corner & he
used to sit in chair. Then he used to study for hours. She knew that he loved
store. She decided to talk with Harish. She left his room. She immediately
called Harish & told him her idea. Harish was very happy. Harish “It will
be perfect future for you. I will immediately find one store. It will give you
true break…” She was so happy. She felt that she was doing great thing. Now
Ravi would take interest
in her store. She was so sure. She began to plan all. She even started to call
some of her colleagues. But she decided against it. She needed to feel positive
on every point. She knew that if she took away her staff then it would be problematic
for her Boss. She didn’t want to anger her old Boss. She just talked with
Harish. Then she began to create her proper profile. She sent it to company
& soon she got her contract. She checked it again & again. She didn’t
waste her time in discussing. She just fixed date. But when Harish came, he
sent contract to his lawyer friend. They explained her all. She understood one
thing that this time she needed to face results of losses & needed to
manage all by herself. She nodded. She was so happy. Finally, she was doing
something which would make her son Ravi happy. It was most happy moment for
her. She went happily in Ravi’s room & told all. Then she waited for his
response. He just gave weak smile. She understood. He was nervous to begin new
work. She said slowly “Don’t worry. I will teach you all.” & then she went
back in her room.
Ravi began
to feel so nervous when Rita went away. He didn’t able to say anything. His
mom, Rita did all & then she came to inform him. It was worst for him. He
didn’t want to sit in that store. He hated those memories. He remembered very
well every incidence of that time. It was so complicated. He liked going in
store at beginning but then that Auntie joined shop. She used to sell products
nicely. His Mom used to appreciate her so much. But that Auntie used to target
him. He remembered that day clearly when this Auntie told him to not sit on
chair. She said “Everyone work in this store while you are only one who sit
& enjoy because your mother is manager. Honestly this is too much. People
like you just get all ready made since you born in right sort of family. You
don’t need intelligent, do you? Have you ever thought how dumb you are? What is
your school results?” He had scored okay. He was not some great scholar but he
had normal intelligence. That Auntie listened to his score & began to explain
to him that how low his intelligence was. He was so scared. He didn’t want
those memories. He didn’t want to go back in that store. He was so stressed. He
just ran in her mom’s room. He declared hysterically “I will not work in
store.” Rita asked angrily “Why?” He suddenly got so angry. He wanted to
explain but his all explanation would be understood by his mom & he was
sure about it. “Since I want freedom.” “Freedom?! To do what? You are just
useless boy. You never got any talent. You just kept enjoying your life purchasing
things. You keep spending. You never needed to earn & I am giving you one
chance to earn but you don’t want it.” Ravi was so upset. He didn’t understand
what suddenly went in his mind. But he began to bang his head on wall. He kept
doing it. Rita tried hard to stop him but nothing worked. She began to scream.
She started to call for help. Soon some people from Society came. They all
tried hard to stop Ravi. Finally, they managed to stop but his forehead was
full of blood. One fellow called ambulance. She immediately called to Harish.
She told him all. Rita “It was all my mistake. I don’t need to force…” “Stop
this! I agree you forced too much. But his reaction is not normal! Our son
clearly has mental issue.” Rita didn’t say anything. She was so scared. Then
she sensed that Doctor from ambulance was asking about Ravi’s parents. She ran
out & told “I am his mom & his father is on phone. Will you talk to
him?” Doctor immediately took call &
explained about expenses & procedure. Harish managed all. Rita didn’t have
mental strength to handle those things. She was feeling so guilty. When she sat
outside while they were doing Ravi’s treatment in hospital. One Nurse came
& told her that Psychiatrist was calling her. Rita immediately ran. Rita
sat in chair & without second thought she told all. Psychiatrist “You are
little pushy. But what your son did show his mental issue! He is over
emotional. He needed some counselling to control his anger & emotion. He is
hurting himself. Did he do this before?” “No never!” “Then this is beginning of
one serious mental problem don’t worry we will handle it & he will work in
store with you too.” She shivered & said “ I never try it again.”
Psychiatrist smiled & said “ Don’t worry one day he will tell you himself.”
“ I wait until then.” She went out of Psychiatrist’s cabin with hope. She began
to feel positive. But she was not certain. After that day she kept working hard
in her store with hope one day Ravi would take over it. But Ravi didn’t took
interest. Then one day Ravi introduced his girlfriend & she immediately
took interest in Rita’s store. Rita sensed by talking of Ravi’s girlfriend that
Ravi cared & valued her store. Soon Ravi got married to his girlfriend
& Ravi’s wife took over that store. Rita started to prosper in her business
more & more with help of her daughter-in-law.
