Adventure story. 494. Sarika's brother

Sarika woke up in middle of night. She looked towards clock. Everything was fine. She was sitting in midnight. She didn't understand cause properly. She sensed strange kind of helplessness. She had strange dream. She was sure but she was upset due to it but she didn't remember anything out of it. It was so upsetting. She was so confused. She didn't remember why but she was upset. She was so stressed. She didn't understand that darkness around her. She knew that it was night so it was supposed to be dark. But still she sensed strange fear in this darkness. She didn't understand why she was so scared. She looked beside her. Her brother was sleeping peacefully. He never had much tension. He was always favourite. She didn't understand why. She was much better in everything. But still he considered as best. She took deep breath. She tried to remember dream but she never remembered anything. She worked so hard to understand what was happening. But she never understood it. She just took deep breath. Then she went to kitchen & drank water. Then she fall asleep. She managed to catch her sleep. She woke next day by sunray. She looked around. She was in bedroom. All was perfect. She looked towards clock. She saw that she was getting late so she began to get ready fast. She felt so confused. She didn't understand what was wrong. It seemed as if no one was in house. She began to feel restless. She started to call her Mom. " Mom will you make my breakfast?" She waited for answer. She didn't understand why no one was answering her. She went in kitchen. It was totally empty. She didn't understand why did they all left her alone like this. She never felt so lonely. She came out of house. She was so confused. She started to look around. Everything seemed normal. Watchman was on gate. People were moving around. She didn't see anything missing. She didn't understand why she didn't see her family. She thought that she might ask watchman but then she thought that it would look wrong. She went back in kitchen. She stared cooking breakfast then she got dressed up for college. She went to her college. She needed tiifin but her Mom was missing. She began to call her Mom again & again. She didn't pick mobile. Finally she decided to eat in college canteen. She went out. She went in college then she switch off her mobile & attended lectures. She was paying full attention to them. She didn't even remember that her family went out without telling her. She was shocked when she noticed Cops in door of her classroom. Cops asked about her to professor. She stood up & introduced herself. Cops " You were in your home yesterday!" " Yes I was!" " Well what happened?" " What happened? Nothing!" She gave confused smile. Cops pointed towards hands. " Then why your hands were so injured?" She looked towards her hands. She didn't sense. It seemed as if someone scratched on them. She kept looking at them. " I don't know. I was sleeping. Then I woke up. I went in kitchen. I did breakfast then I got dressed & came in college." " But your entire family was missing? Don't you feel it is strange!" She was more confused now. She didn't understand what she supposed to feel. But she felt nothing. " I thought my family went out." " Did they mentioned it to you?" She tried to remember hard about yesterday. She was playing game on Android. She didn't talk with anyone. She normally avoided talking these days. She sensed one thing that they didn't like her. She was so sure that she didn't feel hope in her soul when she sat with them. She started feeling upset. She began to feel so depressed when she thought about them. Today she didn't thought since she didn't want them around. She might want Mom to cook. But she didn't want anything more from her. She already managed to get over her affection towards Mom. She didn't say it to people. But she was confused today when Cop asked her why she didn't miss her family. Since she didn't want to see them, she hated them. She felt so happy to have entire house for herself. She started to sense that she couldn't explain this to Cops. They would not understand. It was so upsetting. She just said " Sometimes they go out?" " When did they left house like this last time?" She didn't have answer now. She was so scared. Suddenly her professor interfered " My student is upset. She is like that from morning. When she entered in class, I observed that she was walking in trance." Her friend who sat beside her spoke " Yes I was even suggesting her to go to Doctor." Cop looked at her carefully. He called lady Cop to observe her. Lady Cop started observing her carefully. She turned to her senior & said slowly " I feel she is having mental trouble let's call Doctor!" That Cop looked tense. Sarika was so scared. Cop took deep breath & asked her " Try to remember something." Sarika began to try. She was in room. She was listening a story of Audio. Her Dad was screaming about something. She didn't want to hear it so she kept using headphones of her brother.. she began to get confused. She had one brother. What was his name? She didn't remember it. She started to look around. " I don't understand what is wrong with me? I don't remember my brother's name!" Every one started to look towards her in strange way. Cop " Your brother?" Suddenly her friend spoke up " Which brother? Your cousin Harsh came home yesterday? I thought he is in US!" " No..not Harsh! He is not my brother. My real brother! My younger brother!" " But you don't have any younger brother!" " What?" She screamed on her friend. Her friend suddenly stood away from her. It was clear that her friend was very upset. But she continued. She had no option. " Remember my brother! He is still in school. He is still studying!" " But you had one elder sister not younger brother!" " Elder sister! Which sister! I don't have any sister! I have one younger brother!" Cop looked more nervous. He pointed lady Cop to call someone. Then Cop smiled & said " Let's first go to Doctor." She was so upset that she screamed even on Cop " I am fine! I don't need Doctor!" Then she regretted. She looked at Cop with scared expression. But Cop just smiled & said " Don't worry. Everything will be fine." 

   Sarika kept sitting on one bench in classroom. Cops went away. She didn't understand what was going on. She didn't remember where were her parents. She didn't understand what was wrong with her. Her friend Prachi was avoiding even looking at her. She felt that Prachi was angry with her. She didn't feel Prachi was wrong. She screamed on Prachi in most horrible way. She slowly went towards Prachi. She knew that professor was watching but professor just ignored. she sat beside Prachi. " Sorry!" Prachi looked at her with tearful eyes. She was so shocked. Prachi was sad not angry. " What happened?" " You don't remember your sister!" Sarika looked towards professor. She knew that they were talking while professor teaching. But professor choosed to ignore. Sarika was shocked. Sarika " Sister! Which sister?!" Prachi started crying. Professor slowly came near them. Sarika was so scared that she would get angry on Prachi but she patted Prachi on back & said " You need to be tough for your friend!" She was so confused. She took deep breath & asked " Mam what is wrong with me?" " You don't remember your sister!" " My sister! I don't have any sister. I have one brother." " Then what is his name?" She was so confused. She suddenly began to forget all about her brother. It was so upsetting. She was forgetting one after another thing. She didn't understand what was wrong with her. She kept sensing that some things didn't remember. She said next line without thinking. She was so scared. " I never forget things like that!" Prachi " This is happening because you are sick!" " What? I am okay." Entire classroom was watching her. She began to feel nervouse. " I want to go home!" "You can't!" " Why?" Prachi " Because Cops are trying to catch your parents because there is murder. They don't want you to disturb now." Sarika was so shocked. " Who is murdered?" Prachi looked nervouse now. Sarika suddenly sensed that after promising not to worry Cops told her to go & wash her face. She went in washroom alone. She kept cleaning her face for long time. Then she even applied medicine to wounds on her hand. Cops surely told something to her friend during that time. Sarika wanted to know it. " I don't understand." Professor " Do you have anyone with whom you can stay?" She was so confused. Then Professor added " Why don't you come to my house? My kids are settled in abroad. My husband is dead. I am all alone in home. Come & stay with me for few days. " Sarika didn't understand what she supposed to do but Prachi began to insist. " Go with her!" Sarika looked so confused. She didn't understand what she supposed to remember. She just nodded. She didn't understand what exactly she supposed to do so she started concentrate on her books. She began to study. She could sense that entire college was observing her. She was an object of curiosity for them. She could sense it. But she didn't understand what happened. She tried so hard to remember. She remembered that she was sleeping in same room with her younger brother. She was not liked that much. They liked him. But she didn't remember his face. She didn't understand why it was missing. She didn't remember that day. She didn't remember actually that night. She remembered everything until she slept. But in every incidence she was alone in her room. Her brother was not in it. She didn't remember his entry. She just remembered waking in middle of night & he was beside her. She saw just his back. She tried so hard to remember his face. Then suddenly Prachi asked " Did you remember your sister?" Now this was shocking. She had brother & she wanted to remember him. " I had one younger brother! I never had any sister!" Prachi shivered with fear. Then suddenly a lady Cop appeared & took her. She sat in Police car. Those officers were nice & aloof. They were not observing her like her classmates. It seemed as if this was something routine to them. Finally one officer asked " Did she remember anything?" They all looked towards her. She said " I still didn't remember anything about my brother properly!" " Brother! Which brother?!" " She kept talking about some imaginary brother. That is reason behind this psychiatrist visit." " Who could blame her? If anyone get parents like her parents that person will become mad too!" She was so upset. She screamed on Cop " I am not mad!" She did it without sensing it. She suddenly felt scared. She screamed on Cops. Cops could take revenge. She heard many stories like that. She immediately said "Sorry." But this Cop smiled kindly & said " I am sorry. I don't want to hurt your feelings. I just felt angry towards your parents. How could anyone treat their daughter like that? I have one daughter myself! I love her so much." She smiled. She was so happy to see someone who appreciated daughter her parents didn't. They wanted just son. Then suddenly they stopped. She looked out of window. She saw signboard of hospital. She went as per Cops instructions. She went in one small room. Psychiatrist smiled nicely. Then he began to ask questions. " So do you remember your sister?" " Sister! I don't have any sister!" Psychiatrist slowly took out one photo & showed it to her. " See this!" She saw it. Then she shivered. It seemed as if that photo had some horrible power inside. She began to feel that woman from picture began to turn in horrible zombie. She started to burn. She began to look so horrible. She didn't want to see her. She screamed " Take that picture away from me. She is ghost. She is possessed. She will come out of photo & kill me." But it was too late. She was already out of it. She started to straggle her throat. She screamed loudly & helplessly. Finally all turned black before her eyes & she fainted. Before fainting she could clearly hear sound of many people came running inside room. She felt sure that they came to help her. They came to protect her.

  Cops & nurses came running in room. They saw Sarika fainted on floor. Psychiatrist just managed to get hold of table so that it must not hurt her. Cop " This is horrible. She need treatment." Psychiatrist " Surely she does. I like to understand her case once again." " Well she is younger daughter of a family. I prefer to not take name. But you can know it from files." He looked towards many patients who also entered in room. Nurse started to order them to go out. Psychiatrist smiled & said " Curiosity of human soul always manage to bring them every where. These must be patient from other wards." " Actually they didn't want daughters but they got two daughters. After that they didn't manage to conceive any child. I don't know why. Since I don't went in those details. But they always kept treating their daughter like burden. This younger one was submissive. She didn't argue much. But elder one was tough. She kept trying to break their hold. She managed to make friends. She found one boyfriend. He was someone who was not approved by family. She was determined to marry him. She began to argue. She started to plan her marriage. She did big mistake by announcing it on dinner. Her parents felt that they had enough. They never wanted their daughters any way. They started to hit her. She tried to protect herself. Sarika supposed to protect her. But I think she got scared. She ran in her room. Her sister must be holding her hand when she ran towards room. Sarika wanted her to come or not we don't know. But parents must have managed to separate them. Society people heard few screams. One of member went to their house. That one knocked. But they told him everything was fine. That neighbour was suspicious. But then Sarika came & said " Don't worry Uncle everything is fine." He didn't have much option but he went away. But in morning he went to secretary of society. Even secretary of society heard voices. Secretary of society said that he needed to discuss. So they all went to flat. Soon they sensed something was wrong. Sarika went to college before their eyes but her face was not normal. Her hands were injured. She was watching wounds on her hand. Her hands were looking hurt. She kept watching her hands. She began to see wound carefully. She could sense pain. She began to feel so uneasy. She started to watch at beginning it seemed as if she sensed something. Then she suddenly looked away. She began to smile. It seemed as all was normal to her. It seemed that something suddenly vanished out of her mind." " What about her parents?" " We are searching for them. Soon they will be arrested." Psychiatrist nodded. Psychiatrist " I like to admit her." Cop " No problem. I will inform her relatives. I feel she have one Auntie. " Psychiatrist nodded. Sarika felt so scared when she sent in hospital. She was given one bed. She felt some patient might come to her or attack her. But nothing like that happened. Every patient was lost in own world. They were depressed. Few were laughing without reason. But none of them was scary. She lived there like normal human being. She did whatever told to her. Psychiatrist called her sometimes. He tried to remind her about her sister. At beginning all went blank. Then slowly she began to see. It was not her sister Rita who was in love with a boy. She was in love with a boy. She wanted to marry him. But when her parents started to object it she started to forget idea. She told that boy he must not approach her. That boy agreed. Everything went as per her parent's wishes. But her elder sister objected. She began to argue at dinner table for her. Sarika told her to forget it. Then her Mom said " I had enough of this nonsense. Sarika go to your room." Sarika stood up to go. Then she suddenly noticed. Her father was playing with knife. She wanted to warn her elder sister. But she was so scared. Sarika said " I don't want to marry that boy. You just forget that incidence." But her elder sister kept arguing. On that point her Dad hurt on her elder sister's nose. Sarika didn't want to remember it but it came coming. She started screaming. Psychiatrist immediately called nurse. She was given tranquilizer. She kept sleeping for hours. When she woke up Cops were waiting for her. This time she told them all. Her name then her sister's name. She didn't able to stop herself from telling all. She cried. She said just one thing. " I don't want to marry that boy why did she kept arguing?" Cop " It was not her mistake. You have full right to marry boy of your choice & they were planning your marriage with totally wrong boy." " What? But I am younger daughter. She was elder." " But they know that she will not agree. That boy liked you.." she shivered. " What was wrong with that boy?" " He visits prostitutes daily. He have many addiction. He have all those qualities which are wrong for husband. Your sister did right thing." " But like a coward I don't protect her." " You can't since you are not strong enough. But just to protect her you showed willingness to sacrifice your love. We know that you still like that boy!" She didn't say anything. Then Cops called that boy. He was before her. She saw everything. Her every wonderful moment with him. His plan of their promising future! He planned all.  They planned it all when she back out. He even agreed to it with smile. But he said that he will wait for her. He came near her. She cried in his arms. Soon Cops made arrangement of their marriage. She went away with him. Her parents were arrested. She was visiting Psychiatrist time to time. She became brave enough to face her parents. She came in court & gave statement against them before judge. When she came out she felt a big burden was removed from her shoulder. She thanked psychiatrist for it. She knew that she did right thing. It was impossible to do without help of psychiatrist since their eyes used to scare her. One day Sarika went to psychiatrist & asked him " Why did I imagine a brother?? " " Because you were feeling guilty. You want your sister to be alive so you become elder sister & instead of you that younger brother was born. You felt so guilty for falling in love. You felt that you are worst thing so you manage to deduct yourself. But you don't want to remember that horrible face of your sister so you become your sister in your imagination." Sarika felt so sad. " Do you feel if boy was born instead of me then problem should be solved?" " No with that upbringing that boy should be worst person. It is great that just girls were born in your family." Sarika just nodded. But then she said " It should be better if they were remained childless." Psychiatrist " Stop this! Let's talk not about future. Tell me about your husband & in-laws." She immediately smiled & began describing her happiness & her troubles in her happy married life.
