                                                       Challenge

Smita was very excited about going to visit her auntie. After all for many days she had not seen her.She was such nice lady. Last time she had gifted her with a gold chain. Smita was just mad about her.She always wanted her auntie to visit her.But her auntie never came to visit them. She finally decided to go and visit her by herself. Her mother was not very happy about it because her auntie did not came on her any function.She just sent money orders.Mom"Smita why do you have to visit her on this vacation?why do not you go to Bhopal to visit your uncle instead?" "Mom I went there on last vacation also?why are you against visiting her?" "She was not very happy regarding your visit." "Who told you that?" "You can always read it in a person's voice.""And mom many times you read things that are not there at all." After hearing this her mom finally quit arguing.Smita  just didn't understand her mom's attitude.At the same moment her younger brother Rajan entered her room. He also started putting clothes inside her bag.Smita"Why are you putting your clothes inside my bag" "Papa said that I am going with you.""No mom. Not with him!" Mom was upset with Papa because he had given Permission of going to auntie.Now he had also permitted Rajan to go with her was too much for Mom.But Papa was very good in convincing so Smita knew that it was lost case.Then Smita ordered Rajan to pack a separate bag for him.She didn't want her clothes to be damaged by her toys.Papa and Mom was going to drop them at auntie's bungalow. They were very excited about it.

            When they sat in a car next morning suddenly Mom's phone started ringing. But Smita didn't want to be late so she just switched off her phone.Then for safer side she even switched off her father's phone and they all started their journey. When they started moving away from home Mom and Papa were also became such excited that they totally forgot about their cellphones. Their journey was very pleasant as well as relaxing.When they reached their destination they received shock of their life. The fences of bungalow were very high and made of bricks. They could not see anything from outside. On the gate there was large broad telling to beware of dog. Then they suddenly heard loud dog barking.That voice was very scary.Rajan"No one told me about this dog." Mom "Because we don't know about it. We never visited your auntie because she never wanted guests.We are not even sitting here now if your sister didn't force us to come here."Mom angrily looked at Smita. Smita started looking out of car window. She was very shocked to see these changes. She always remembered her auntie in a friendly way. She could clearly saw that there were many changes which she didn't know or ignore to know.

               When their car reached near the bungalow, Papa started using horn to get auntie's attention. But for sometime no one came to door finally the door was opened and car entered inside. When they went inside they saw their auntie opened the door and she was holding two angry dogs in other hand.Rajan was shocked to see those dogs.Rajan"Mom look at those dogs can they bite me." Mom was also sweating after seeing those dogs.Mom"I just don't know. Honey I think this is enough.I don't want to leave my children here."Papa was about agree with Mom,when Smita started shouting loudly"But I want to stay here and you have promised me." Mom"But sweet heart why do you want to stay in such place.""Because I enjoy staying there and that is my decision.If Rajan does not want to stay, it was his choice. But I would stick to my decision." Papa" Now will you stop arguing? If she want to stay she will stay. No use of arguing about it.But Rajan can change his decision and come back with us." But after listening his sister Rajan began to think that backing out would be sign of cowardism. Rajan"No. I will stay." Mom "But Rajan you just said...""Ohh! Mom I was just joking." Even while saying this anyone could see fear clearly written on his face. But Mom could see that there was no use of arguing about it.

                  When they reached to the door.They saw a man angrily looking at them. Smita "Mom who is this?" "This is your uncle. Don't you remember him?" Smita didn't remember anything about her uncle.But she was not going to confess about it.She didn't want to look stupid before her parents.But she didn't like that man at all.He was looking at them with such suspicion as if they were going to kill him. When Papa came out of car with them. He didn't even greeted him.Uncle"I was trying to call you.Why did you switch off your phone?" "Phone?!!" Papa took out his phone and shocked to see that it was switch off.Papa"By mistake I must have switched off the phone.""O really!! and what about Priti's phone?" Mom was more shocked when she saw that her phone was also switched off. She angrily looked at Smita , when ever Smita did some mischief Mom always guessed about it.Mom"I am very sorry. Why were you trying to phone?""To tell you that we are little bit busy this week. But since you have already arrived there is no use of telling it now.So come inside." And uncle went inside. Papa and Mom were very angry.They should have returned on that second. But auntie came there looking very excited.Auntie"I was so excited that children are going to come after so many days. Finally we were having some guest." Mom"The way he treated us,if he continue treating people. It will be hard to get any person in this home."After saying this angrily Mom and Papa went inside.Mom and Papa were not at all interested in sitting there. They even wanted to take Smita and Rajan with them. But Auntie forced them to let the children stay. So they finally left alone. Then Auntie showed them their room. When they began to unpack their bags Uncle came there. Uncle"This is lock and key for your cupboards."Rajan"Why do we have to lock our cupboard?""There were many thieves here." "My god!! then how did you stay alone? there was not even a watchman.""Silly boy you shall not trust a watchman. Mostly watchmen were involved in the crime. They kill their employer and get away easily. You can just trust the dogs." Rajan was such fascinated by Uncle's tale that he was not at all hurt when Uncle called him a silly boy.Rajan "Did anyone murdered here?"Uncle was just waiting for this question.He began to tell horrifying tales to him. Smita also liked his tales and slowly she began to think that her Uncle was a nice man.

                     Then finally he told them not to open the door and not pick up a phone and he left the room. Rajan "Uncle is very interesting man.I really like him." "Don't he scared you with those stories?" "Not at all.Why shall I be scared when Uncle had a gun." "Gun?!!""Of course!! don't you see the gun in his pant?" Smita was very scared to hear this.Why did a person need a gun?But she didn't want to ask Auntie anything about it because it would be embarrassing to her as well as to her Auntie.She decided to just wait and watch.Then Auntie came to their room.A small girl entered with her.She was hiding behind her. Auntie"Shruti don't be afraid those are your cousins." But Shruti seemed to be too scared to come out. Then Smita suddenly remembered the big doll given by Mom. At that time she was shocked learn that she had a small cousin whom she had never met.Smita went near her and gave her the doll. She smiled very  sweetly.Her sweet smile touched their heart. Suddenly Rajan took out his favorite toy and gave it to her.She was on top of the world after so many gifts. Smita"Can you sleep with us?"Rajan"That's great idea!we can play all the night." Auntie"But you must sleep at night." Smita"Auntie!! just for one night. Please it's vacation after all." Shruti"Mama please!!" After Shruti's request Auntie just couldn't say no to them."But I first have to ask your Uncle."Then they went down stairs. They all sat on table for dinner.

                   On the dinner Auntie slowly brought the issue of letting Shruti spend the night with Smita and Rajan. Uncle"Why did they want to do that?little kids were just trouble for their elder brother and sister."Smita was very angry after this statement.Smita"I am not agree with you.I love my brother." "O really!May be your doing this just to get your share of property easily?""What?"Smita and Rajan received shock of lifetime after hearing this.Auntie"Will you stop it?she has just passed her 10th standard and don't think there were going to be property issue with them." "Ya.Not until they got big enough." Shruti was confused and scared so she just could not eat any food. When Uncle noticed it. He started scolding her claiming that she was doing it to make him feel guilty so that he would give her the doll.She always wanted. Shruti"But I already had a doll."After hearing her Uncle was very angry. He was about to slap her,when Auntie came between them and ordered Shruti to go to her room.Shruti"Mama I want to sleep with them." Uncle"You are not going to sleep with them." At first Smita was about to argue.But then she thought talking sweetly would be good for situation.Smita" Uncle can I say something?" "Go ahead.""I knew that Shruti has done a mistake,but  if she says sorry to you will you forgive her.After all she is a small child. At night I will tell her she is not suppose to answer back like this." First time Uncle smiled and it became clear that now on Smita will be always on his good books. Uncle"I must say your sister raised her daughter very nicely. You can always learn it from her.I think this girl is going to creat good impression on her.I think Shruti can stay with her until she went back to her home." After observing her sister's success Rajan decided to follow the lead. Rajan"And we will locked all cupboards and windows.We don't let come any stranger near the house. My Mom always says that you must not trust any stranger." Now Uncle was on top of the world."Such nice kids. Shruti come beta sit with them." After that dinner suddenly turned into nice festival and Shruti was very happy with that change.Smita learned one lesson today that she must not say anything directly against her Uncle or she would be in biggest mess.But she had to find a way with which she could change him and also reason of his fear.It was a challenge but Smita loved challenges.

                After that Uncle many times came to their room,he checked that all windows were locked properly. But they felt that he wanted to ask something. After sometime he finally asked them "Smita why did you decide to come here? Did your Mom or Papa insisted?" Before asking that question he had made sure that Rajan and Shruti were playing and not paying any attention to them. Smita could feel that Uncle was beginning to trust her.She decided to go by honest way. Smita"Actually Mom was against of sending us here. She thinks that you don't like visitors. But I was bored by visiting Uncle every time so I insisted that I will come here finally. Papa forced Mom to do it."Uncle looked satisfied with answer.Uncle"I normally don't like visitors.But you and your brother are like family so you are always welcomed here." "Thank you Uncle." After this conversation Uncle finally left them alone. Rajan"What happened?" Smita" I think Uncle was suspicious about us." "But why?" Shruti"Papa always suspect everyone.""But why?""I don't know. He always keep a gun with himself to protect us." "From whom? Does your father receiving some kind of threats?" Smita"Rajan, Don't ask her such questions. She is just a small girl.""Sorry!!""Once one neighbour came to our house and he threatened us that if Papa didn't stop harassing him.He would take the revenge.""Ok.so he is afraid that may be your neighbour will try to take revenge." "Our servant was also fishy." "What?" "Papa was telling Mom that she was looking under table for some clues." "What clues?" "I think the neighbour must have send her." Smita was very thrilled by these talks. She was started planning a nice investigation on their neighbourhood.

                 Next morning they all acted normally. But as soon as their breakfast was finished.They all run towards the garden.But there were big compound walls around the garden so they could not see anything.Then they found the idea. They decided to climb on tree.At beginning it was hard.But finally they managed to climb it.After reaching there they started looking inside their house. At first they saw a woman was cooking the they saw a man was coming there. All felt normal by just looking at them. But they could feel that something was wrong with the neighbours.They were doing it for many day.One day they received the shock. They saw that Uncle was coming in their direction.When Uncle came near them. He ordered them to come down. Uncle"What are you doing there?"Smita"Nothing much."Uncle was very angry with them.His face was turned red with anger.His hands were also shaking.For some seconds Smita thought he was going to kill them with gun.But suddenly Shruti interfered."Papa we were keeping watch on neighbour's." Then Uncle was very happy."So you are going to help me against him. I saw that goodness in you from first day only." Then he told them all to sit near him and started telling his story."You are Auntie never listen to me.This man was bad from the beginning.When he came to meet us,he said hallo in strange way.They slowly I began to notice that unnecessarily he parked his car near my gate.You know he had some strange motives.I think he was keeping watch on us.When I went to ask about his motives.He started blaming me about spying on him.Now tell me.If some one acted suspiciously, you must keep little bit of watch on him so he threatened me.But now with your help.I will catch him." They all were very happy to help their Uncle and find the criminal neighbour.

                 Through out the vacation they kept watch on the neighbour.But at one time they suddenly saw that the man slapped his wife.They all got down and told Uncle about it.Uncle"I think he is planning to kill her.He must be having affair with that lady who brought him red roses yesterday.I think we should make a call to police."Smita"But we don't have any proof."Rajan"Well, I think finding proof is job of police not our."Uncle"Rajan is saying right thing.We should make a blank call to police and put that person in jail."When Uncle left them,Shruti said slowly" I don't believe Papa.I think we must talk to Mom."Smita really didn't like the idea either.She suddenly began to think that some thing was strange with her Uncle.But Rajan was already too convinced with Uncle's idea so there was no way to make him listen to her.She saw that fight and wife also hit the husband with her hands so it was two way affair.Smita decided to bring this matter in Auntie's attention.Auntie was shocked to hear it."You are telling me that you are looking in the neighbour's house all days.""Yes.""How disgusting !!Smita don't you know that looking in other's house is crime.Those husband and wife always quarreled with each other.But that was their personal matter.That wife told on first day that we should not interfere in her matters.She is an educated woman.She can go to police.If she wanted to do it.You can also see it clearly that she never spares her husband.She also hit him so we shall not going to interfere."Smita"Sorry Auntie.""Tomorrow you are going home and Shruti was also joining your school." "What?But Why?" Smita could clearly see tears in her Auntie's eyes.Auntie"You are Uncle is suffering by Paranoid Personality Disorder. In this disorder a person began to suspect everyone.You know some times he even suspects his daughter and wife and after what you told me.I had began to suspect that it may effect Shruti also.If she continues to believe him. You saw that Rajan and Shruti were encouraged by his ideas.Slowly after treatment your Uncle will be fine.""No Auntie Shruti didn't believe him.""I am so relieved.But look at Rajan.Uncle is having wrong effect on him. After all Shruti needed to meet other people and your Uncle is not ready for it.""Ok Auntie.But why did this happened to Uncle?""May be.Genetic.""Then Shruti also...""No.Your Uncle have many brothers and sisters.They didn't suffer from it.It was just bad luck."After that next morning they all went back with Shruti. Every vacation they came their with Shruti.Every time they saw the improvements. Finally Uncle's fantasies turned in to only stories in Uncle's eyes also.Now they just laughed at his suspicions.

Since day one Aparna was showing extraordinary energy.First she decided to join the college's cultural activities. She was very excited about it. She was also forcing Priti to join it with her.Then after that she went to join sports activities. All her friends were watching her and very much impressed. After joining these activities she came back to them.After all they were going to share bench, she wanted a partner who would be as energetic as she was. It was necessary that her partner should be like her.That's why when she asked Priti to sit with her.Priti was very shocked because Priti was quiet and shy person.But all group encouraged their friendship because Priti was down to earth person and Aparna was running after fantasies.Last time she was telling everyone that they should go on picnic and next day she wanted to go and clean the road around the college.Today when she came their they were little bit scared of her plans. Aparna" There is new film in theater I think we shall go and watch it. After that there is our cultural activities.Then sport activities.Any one know how to play chess.I like to learn it.I am going to french classes.May be I shall take cooking classes..." She continued talking like this in a such fast speed. Then Meera tried to stop her many times. But she did not stop. Anyone could have seen it that Meera was upset regarding something. But Aparna did not stop her talking. Then finally Meera got very angry with her. Meera"Can't you slow down for a moment and give us someplace.You know it is becoming hard to bare with you." Aparna"Why are you insulting me like this? Aren't you my friend?" "Ya. Friend !!From the morning I trying to tell you my mother is sick. She is in hospital.You are not even listening to me.You always continuously carry on with your fun never care about anyone." After saying this Meera just stormed out of room.

                 When Meera felt the room, for some time no one said anything. Finally Aparna began to speak again. Aparna" I don't know about her mother..." "If you carry on telling about your plan,how do you understand others feelings?"Now Pranav was also angrily interfered."Excuse me Pranav.I was just telling her about..."She started talking about her plans so fast that they all couldn't absorb what she was talking about. Nowadays  Aparna sometimes talked such hurriedly that they didn't understand her properly and at this moment Pranav couldn't talk to her peacefully so he looked at Priti.Priti "Aparna will you please slow down a little?"Aparna was shocked to hear Priti.Priti never complaint against her.If Priti was complaining  it meant that she must have crossed the limits.Suddenly Aparna felt that she wanted to cry so she left the room.

                 After that Aparna started to her life with same speed. But she left their group except Priti.She kept away from everyone else.But her attitude towards her life had became scary day by day. She continued her fast life and slowly everyone began to get worried about her health. Finally Meera decided to talk to her because talking to Aparna and telling her to change was not possible for Priti.Priti was soft kind of person. Meera" Aparna I think we should forget about our fight." "Which fight?!Ohh! that fight.I already forgotten about it." "Then why did you not speak with us." "You misunderstood me.I was just too busy." Then Aparna started talking about her schedule again. She was talking too fast.They all wanted her to little bit slow down.She could see it on their face still they did not say anything because they cared for her friendship. She also wanted to slow down. But she if could not. She felt that some kind of spirit had entered inside her that did not let her stop.She continued acting same way as she acted before.

                Slowly they accepted her energy. Aparna means speed in eyes of whole college. There were no activity in which Aparna was not participating.Winning and losing did not matter her. She just participate in each everything. All college teacher were every happy with her attitude.So whenever Aparna went missing everyone came to Priti to ask about her. At first Priti was got irritated by it. Then slowly she also began to enjoy it because of Aparna she got that importance which she had never got in her life.She was also on the top of the world.Suddenly on that day Aparna didn't came to college and one after one her teacher started asking about her. Priti was shocked and so were her other friends. Pranav"May be she is sick?" Meera"I think after college we shall go to her home." Priti"Good idea!I will take her project with me."Pranav "Oh my god!! Then you surely need a truck to load them." After hearing Pranav they all started laughing.They all were happy because they all were worried about Aparna inside their heart. For Aparna bunking college is not ordinary.

               When they reached her home.Her sister-in-law opened door for them.Priti"Where is Aparna?" "She is sleeping inside."Meera"Is she sick?" Now Vibha Aparna's sister-in-law looked little confused so they repeated the question again."Is Aparna alright?" "Well!!Actually she is little bit tired so she is sleeping." "Aparna and tired. I can't believe it." Meera "Can we go inside and meet her?""Of course." Vibha was very happy to take them inside. In her room Aparna was laying on bed and she was watching the fan. Her face was full of sorrows.Priti wanted to call her but after looking at her face.She just did not dare.Meera "What happened to her?why is she so sad?"Vibha was shocked to hear this question.Vibha "Yesterday after coming from college she was okay. But next morning when I went to wake her up. She started telling she just did not feel like going anywhere." Priti "But why?" "I don't know. Until now I was thinking some thing must have happened at college." They all looked at each other for clue. But they didn't have any.Pranav"No. Nothing like that was happened at college." "Then what happened to her?" Meera"We don't know."Priti"May be after talking to her we can get some clue?" "I think that's good idea. Let's talk to her." So Vibha left the room leaving Aparna alone with her friends. She thought that may be she will tell them her problem.They all went near her.But she didn't even looked at them. Priti "Aparna What happened?" When Priti asked that question finally Aparna looked at her. Aparna"I am feeling very tired." "Why? May be we have to call a doctor?""No need.""Why didn't you come to college?" "I was tired."After that she was not even ready to say something."Okay. See you tomorrow." Suddenly Priti remembered about the work."Aparna this is work of your activity." Finally Aparna sat up and started to look at that work.They all were happy to see her active and left peacefully.

                Next day when Aparna came to college. Her face had same feeling of sadness. Priti"Hallo?" Priti waited for Aparna's reply.But she didn't give any reply. All the time she was sitting quietly in her chair. After some time all people started coming to her for her incomplete projects. But she requested them to give her a break she didn't work on any project from now.Priti could see anger on every person's face. But many of them were very shocked to see her sad face that they just didn't complaint. But when some people insulted her for her behaviour,instead of answering them she just keep quite.Priti was angry with those person after all they were using Aparna for many days like machine to complete their work. But now when she had some problem instead of sympathising. They were insulting her. When the lecture began all the students began to concentrate on studies. After some times teacher had started giving notes.As usually Priti had started copying notes with all the efforts.But she was felt behind because of her slow writing so she turned to look in Aparna's notebook who was always first one to finish the work. But she received shock of her life.Aparna was still on first sentence and she didn't able even to copy it properly. Suddenly without thinking Priti cried loudly"Aparna why have you not written anything?" because of her loud voice all the class started looking at her.Finally teacher came to their bench.

              Teacher"Aparna what's wrong with you? Are you okay?" Aparna was not even ready to stand finally she stood up which seemed like effort to her. Aparna"I am feeling very tired." "Too much excursion. I think you must take it easy for some days and everything will be okay." Aparna just nodded. At first everyone thought that the teacher's advice will surely work. But even after many days Aparna was not showing any positivity about life. She quited from every activity. One day Priti and other friends decided to talk about it. Meera"What's wrong with Aparna?Is she upset about some thing?" Pranav"Like what?""May be she is having a boyfriend and..." Priti"I don't believe it.If something like that had happened she must have told me."Meera "If you know everything about her,please tell us why she is such a upset?" After Meera's question.Priti didn't say but she was hurt. She was hurt. She was very much sure that there was nothing like that but she could not prove it. Pranav saw it very clearly that because of Aparna there were going to a fight between Meera and Priti.Now Priti started claiming that Meera was the person who suggested that Aparna should take it easy.After some time they both began to look angrily at each other and Pranav changed the subject and saved the day.Then suddenly there attention turned towards Aparna who had just entered in the college.Meera " Do you notice it?""What?" "She was wearing same dress for three days."After hearing Meera this comment Priti and Pranav started laughing.Pranav"You are too much. May be her dress is similar but it can't be same."Meera "I am sure.Let me ask her." Then Meera called Aparna near them. Actually Aparna was planing to sit alone. Nowadays she liked to sit alone. But when Meera called her she didn't have any option so she came there. Meera"You are wearing the same dress." "Ya.""What ?Why are you wearing same dress for three days.""Why shall I change the dress? After all what's use of that trouble?""You know people laugh at you.""It's not healthy. You can get sick." "We all are going to die one day.What is use of all this things?..."Then she began to say that she felt that all life had gone out of her.The light she was feeling before had felt her.Suddenly Priti asked her"Have someone broken you heart?" "Are you mad? I was never in love with anybody." Meera"Then may be because of our fight you are acting such strange way." "Which fight?" Now they all were more confused than before they could easily saw her depression.

                  Finally they all went to her home.Priti asked Aparna's father"Why is Aparna acting such strange way? May..." Before anyone could say anything further Aparna's mother began to tell them"Aparna was suffering from bipolar depression." "What is that?" "For some times she was in high spirits. She was happy and on top of the world. But then suddenly she began to feel depress for no reason at all. She even...."Aparna's mother stopped and started crying. But her father completed her sentence"She tried to commit suicide.""What? But why is this happening?" "Actually doctor has giving many causes. There is problem in her brain or stress on starting college or it can be genetic also. But we just want to cure her so we are giving her medicines.Please be her friends." They all said okay. But in their mind they thought they lost their friend.

                  But slowly they began to adjust with her. But it was very hard for them. Her talking was even began to depress them. But still for their friendship they all used to talk to her for some hours at least and slowly she started acting normal again. But they all were caring about her and that was the reason she was normal. She always helped them that's why they helped her. Friendship is two way process not a one way road.

On that day suddenly Rakesh hold his stomach and started crying in the pain.Everyone was shocked it was first time that some thing like this happened. They all were eating food they bought from the new hotel.It's Payal's promotion party. Payal was going to be their new branch manager and everyone was happy for her.They all wanted her as their manager.But when Rakesh started crying regarding stomach pains.Every person's first thought was it must be food poisoning.Suddenly all of them started thinking that the new hotel must have provided wrong kind of food. After Rakesh slowly slowly every one started complaining about stomach ache.Then they all did not eat rest of food. Payal insisted that they should take Rakesh to hospital.But he just went away without listening to anyone.This way Payal's best day turned into her worst day.

         After that all the office stayed away from that hotel. Rakesh was every helpful to Payal & every one in the office.He was such hardworking and nice fellow. He always showed interest in every work. For few days every thing was fine. One day Payal was telling some work to Mr.Sharma. Payal" This is wrong Mr.Sharma. You have to learn it from someone. I don't have time to teach you.There is lot of work in office.You can't expect me to teach you everything personally." "I am sorry Madam. I will try it again. I think I will do it right this time.""You have already tried for six times. Do you expect me to wait for you for all my lifetime? where is Rakesh? He can surely teach you." "Sorry Madam. But he asked for sick leave." "Sick Leave!! But he asked for sick leave just few days ago.What's wrong with that man?" "I think that some thing is seriously wrong with him. Many time he had those stomach pains.This time he even had some breathing problem." "What ? Why did you not told me this before?" "Sorry Madam.But at that time you are out of town for that meeting.""But I think this is some thing serious. I think I should call company's doctor to check him." Sharma was very happy after hearing this suggestion.He always wanted to suggest it. But he just could not find the right way. Now his work was done.

               When Sharma came outside,he told everyone what had happened in the cabin." Madam is such nice lady by doing this Rakesh can be spared from medical expenses." Ketan"You are right. I always thought that because of financial problems Rakesh never went to a good doctor and that is the reason he was not curing.Now company will sent him to proper doctor and very soon his troubles will be over." Sharma"May be I shall just phone him and tell him about it?" Ketan"That's a good idea.He will be happy to hear it." so Sharma phoned to Rakesh regarding the company doctor. But instead of being pleased he was horrified. He told them that he was going to one of the famous doctor and if his doctor learned that he was taking second opinion doctor will be very angry with him. After hearing this they were very confused. Mr.Sharma hurriedly went in the cabin and informed Payal about everything. Payal "Can I ask you some thing?" "Of course Madam.""Is it possible that may be he is going this just to get vacations?" "No Madam.If he is doing to avoid work why did he come to office on holidays to cover his work? It is not possible.""Then what sort of sickness he is suffering from?""I just can't imagine." There was no profit in discussing that matter so Payal left that matter there.

             After some days Rakesh came to office again.Sharma"Rakesh how are you?" Rakesh sat on his chair and sighed heavily.Rakesh" What shall I say man this sickness is killing me?""But you said that your doctor had treating you.""Of course he is treating me. But you know I got food poisoned again." "What but how did you got food poisoned again? did you eat at wrong restaurant?""No.Not at all. I thing something is wrong with our milk.""Milk?!! but it is in bags." "I know but still sometimes such thing happens?" Now everyone of staff began to listen him.They all drank the milk everyday and give it to their children.The milk poisoning was big issue to them.Rakesh began to tell them the story."You know inject your milk bags with dirty water so that they can have the profit. For their profit they are poisoning our health." After that he continued telling about this milk poisoning, after some time Payal noticed that all staff was busy discussing something. She got very angry.After all office was for working not for their chatting. Payal"What's going on? Why you all are not working?" "Madam do you know our milk is poisoned.""Oh!!really. But I am alive and I drank milk every morning. If you don't believe me, you can check my pulse." After that Ketan began to tell her the whole story.Payal "How can you believe this? our milk is injected by dirty water!! What nonsense!! have you lost your head?" Rakesh "Madam please believe me." "Rakesh last time you told me you got food poisoned because of the food." "I did not said anything.Every staff member guessed it.If you wish I can bring my milk bag tomorrow. You can check it." Payal had no choice. She had to check the bag.She did not want rumour to be encouraged in her office. But she never thought that Rakesh would really bring the milk.

              Next day Payal received biggest surprise of life. Rakesh really brought his milk bag. Now Payal was in biggest problem where could she check that bag. She did not know a place where they could do such work. She was very confused but still she took the bag and she was showing false confidence on face. Rakesh was very happy to prove his point.When she was going home,she was very tense. At that moment she suddenly met her friend. Ritu" Payal,why are you looking such a pale?what happened?" Payal told her everything.Payal"So do you know anyone who can do such report?" "Are you mad? that man must have contaminated the milk.If you do the report on that milk, you surely get one that agrees with him views." "So what shall I do?" "Just tell them nothing was wrong with that milk. They can't ask you to see the report so you can easily succeed  this way." Payal liked Ritu's suggestion and she followed it next day.

              When next day she clearly told everyone that there was nothing wrong with milk.Rakesh became very angry. Rakesh"Show me the report." "What?don't you trust me." "You are lying." "How dare you speak like this with me." At same moment Sharma showed him report. Sharma"It is report of the milk supplied at my house." Many of the staff member had asked their doctors and many had also conducted their reports. Sharma"Rakesh you are too much. You made laughing stock of us. Everyone thought that we are mad." "Shut up!!You idiots.I am telling you the truth. That milk has dirty water contains.." After this show off no one wanted to see Rakesh's face again so Payal clearly told him to submit his resignation. After that he left the office.

             But when next day she came to office she was shocked to see a lady waiting for her. That lady"Hello Madam. I am Rakesh's wife." "What do you want from me? After such big show off. Your husband has no chance of staying in office." But that lady started bowing before her and requesting her that she should at least listen to her. Rakesh's wife gave her Rakesh's report. It was given by psychiatrist.Payal was shocked to see it. Rakesh's wife"please talk to doctor before you take decision." So Payal phoned the doctor. He told her that Rakesh was suffering with Factitious disorder.He was doing it because he was afraid of responsibilities. When he completes his work normally. He get lots of sympathy and his work was double checked. In such patients went any level to prove that they were sick. Rakesh had put dirty water in that milk bag to prove himself true.Payal thanked her stars that she met Ritu and did not caught in this trap. Doctor requested Payal give him another chance. Finally after discussing the issue with the doctor she decided to give him a chance. But when she asked why did it happened? Doctor told her that from childhood Rakesh always suffered stress. He told her he could not tell her reasons. But whenever he was ill. His mom always kept him away from stress. Finally he just began to love the sickness.

                   Next day when Rakesh came to office he apologized to everyone. Rakesh was one of their best employee so they kept him. But that day there were no more sick leaves for Rakesh.

Everyone was excited in the office because Reshma was going to bring her baby today. Reshma had left the job after getting married. But she was still part of the office. When ever anyone phoned her she was always there to help them.So even boss had special respect for her. That's why they got permission to celebrate her baby's birth. Every one was excited they hanged balloons everywhere.The office was fully decorated. It was looking very beautiful.Everyone was waiting for Reshma& her baby.When they heard any car stopped, they all ran out hoping that it was Reshma's car. They waited for many hours. But Reshma did not came. Finally Purnima decided that she was going to phone her. Purnima " Reshma dear where are you? we are waiting for you. Are you going come in next birth?" " Ohh!! I am so sorry. I totally forgot to tell you. I can not come today." "Why?" " guests are going to come." "Come on Reshma. What's wrong with you? last time you said the same thing. It seems that guests are forever coming to your house. You will have to ask your husband to stop this or it will take toll on your health." " Don't worry. I have servants." " But that doesn't mean you shall always have stay home. This is too much." " Purnima I do not want you to interfere in my personal life." " OK. So that's the way you are going to act with me. Then bye." Before hearing Reshma reply Purnima had banged the phone.Reshma told everyone about the conversation. Now all of them were angry with Reshma.They just cancelled the party and went back to their work.

           When everyone started working Charu suddenly made one suggestion " May be some of us shall go and meet her?" Purnima" And why shall we do it? When she insulted us like this." " Purnima!! don't you notice her change after her marriage." "What change?" " Before marriage she use to come and attend every party. She use to become soul of the party. But last time she just ran away from my party." " What?" "You were out of town that time. You know she was sweating. It seems like she was afraid of something or someone." "Why don't you tell me this before?" "I thought that I will speak to her personally today. But now since she is not going to come..." "Both of us go and meet her." Both friends smiled happily at each other.

            As soon as their office was over, they took riksha.Charu" Purnima sometimes I think that may be her husband is not treating her properly." " How do we suppose to know at the time of marriage every boy looks gentleman.The problems usually get started after some months." "You are right." " I think first we have to meet her then we can understand the problem." When they reached at the home, they were shocked to see the situation. Every window was closed and there were no noises which told them clearly that Reshma had lied to them about the guests. So they began angrily knocking on the door.Slowly after some time Reshma opened the door. Her face was so pale that they did not even recognized. Instead of welcoming them she just pushed them inside. Charu “ What happened ? Why are you pushing us inside.” Reshma “I was not pushing you. I just want to take you inside.” Purnima “ But we have came here to take you outside.” Reshma was started sweating. She was actually began to stammering. “ I..I …Can…” Charu “ What’s wrong with you? Look at your face.” Purnima “ Are you afraid of someone?” “No...No! Who told you that.” Charu “It’s written on your face.” “OK. I will go with you.” Purnima “Then bring the baby. We can take walk in garden.” Reshma “Garden! Which garden?” “Garden of your society.” “No! Not there. So many crowds will be there at this time.” “ So what’s wrong in that. Your baby is 6 months old. Surely she can go there now.” “ Of course! But let my husband come first.” “Why your husband is needed?" " I don't go outside alone." "But why?" "What’s wrong with you?” Purnima “ Tell me he is treating you badly.” “No. It’s nothing like that.” “Then why do you need to ask for his permission before going in garden also?” “Will you stop it? You  just do not understand.” After saying this she started crying so they both decided to drop the matter and started waiting for her husband. " I don't go outside alone." "But why?"   Before she could answer. There was knock on the door.

                Reshma's husband Rohit was outside.When they saw him, Charu immediately asked for permission for going out.Rohit was very shocked to hear her. "Reshma can't you go out with them." "But..." "Nothing is going to happen to you. Please go out and give me some rest." Now there was tears in eyes of Reshma.Purnima" Let's go out and where is baby?" Rohit "No.Don't take baby with you.I will handle her. It's hard to handle Reshma." "What?" Before Rohit could answer them.Reshma started pushing them towards door. But as soon as they came on street she literally started shaking. Charu"Are you alright?" Purnima"I think we should go back." Reshma was very pleased with this advice and actually ran in the home.When they went inside the home, Reshma actually ran inside. Rohit was shocked to see her running like this.The baby was in his hands.She was trying to reach to Reshma. But Reshma did not even look at her.Rohit" What happened?" Charu"We just went on the street and she started shaking like leaf." Rohit just continued cuddling his daughter and did not say anything.Finally they left the home but their mind was full of confusions.After some time Charu phoned Reshma.But she did not answer her phone.After that they decided not to pursue that matter.

                 After some months all office friends when to watch a movie.

This time they decided to call Reshma with her husband. Instead of informing them they made it surprise. When they showed the tickets to Rohit & Reshma .Rohit was very happy about it. But Reshma was against going there. She claimed that who would take care of their baby and baby couldn’t stay quiet in theater. But her mother-in-law took the responsibility of baby. Rohit “I am so excited about going to cinema. After so many days we are going to watch the cinema. Before marriage we watched many cinemas. But after that incidence…” Before Rohit could finish the sentence Reshma pinched him on hand. Then immediately he dropped the subject. But they all sensed that something important remained to be unsaid.

                When they were near the theater, Reshma suddenly started saying that she forgot her purse. Then she suddenly got out of car and took one riksha and went home. But Rohit sat there quietly. Charu “What is this? Why she need the purse with such emergency. After all you have the money.” Rohit “Money is not the problem. Reshma never goes in crowded places.” Purnima “What?” “ Ask Charu last time she actually ran away from her party. After that she was sick for whole day. Now there are no parties, no picnics and no cinemas for us. I have to go everywhere alone. All people looked at me very strangely. Even my mom started getting irritated by this. Even on our babies naming ceremony she was inside the room whole time. It was so insulting before relatives. Now the baby is growing day by day. After some time she also started asking what’s wrong with her mom. How do I suppose to answer her.” After saying this Rohit started crying. It was hard to believe but they have seen it with their own eyes.

                Purnima “ But from when she started acting like this? Before marriage she was not even shy.” Rohit “ One day when we were on honey, I went downstairs to get some things from market. Reshma was in hotel room. When I returned the entire crowd was gathered around the elevator. Then I heard Reshma’s cries. She was stuck in elevator. It took lot of time to bring that elevator down. Through out that time I was trying to consol her. But after coming out of it she started acting like this. When she went in any crowded place she started sweating. She felt that she could not breathe there. She never entered any crowded place. She was not even comfortable in the maternity home. That created lot of problems for us. After that doctor suggested a psychiatrist. But she is not ready. She is saying psychiatrists are for mad people and she is not mad.” Purnima “ Who told her that nonsense? Even I went to psychiatrist. People who go there don’t tell about it that doesn’t mean that they don’t go there. I will talk to her and settle the matter.” “Thanks a lot.”

                Next day Purnima and Charu convinced Reshma to come doctor with them. Rohit met them at clinic. After listening to their details doctor told them that Reshma was suffering from situational phobia because of  the elevator she started with it. But instead of taking treatment she started avoiding the places. The result was that she developed Agoraphobia because of panic attacks. She became afraid of going anywhere. At Charu’s party  she shown first sign of it. After that Doctor suggested that Rohit or her friends should take her outside and told Reshma what she suppose to do when she have the panic attacks. First they took her just in gardens. Slowly she even managed to go in theaters. On her baby’s first birthday party she had some problems but still she attended all the guest properly. Her happiest day was the one when she went down in elevator once again.
